Remove Zoom scale of Google maps in OBIEE 11g Mapviewer

Hi,
While integrating Google maps with OBIEE 11.1.1.6.0 , we are able to see two Zoom scales one for BI layer and another for Base map layer (Google Map).
When we select the former Zoom scale (BI Layer) , our views have been placed in exact countries. But when we select latter one, only base map i.e., Google map is zooming without upholding the views(Color fill,Image,Bar Graph,etc.,).
So is there any way to bring synchronization between two layers with one zoom scale.
Kindly help me to sort out this issue.

Will require backport of a fix for mapviewer (oraclemaps.js) that has to be part of the OBIEE patchset.
Filing a bug would help the process.

Hi Alll,
I know there are lots of posts/blogs on this over net but most of them show examples with either 10g or use API v2. Following is my requirement
1. To be able to show multiple data points (Locations) on a single map and to be able to zoom in.
2. To do this for API V3 - so I need api v3 version of the java script code which is mentioned on various blogs
3. We have already coded our addresses in long and lats and need to pass that using the Java code
Can anybody please send me / point me to the code which is for API V3, passes longs and lats and render multiple points on the map. It'll be highly appreciated. It'll be great if you could send the code which you have tested and works for you.

On a mac, I have lost the Scaler on Google map. I think that it is Firefox problem because the map scaler is present with Safari. Thank You

Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac. There is a third party version of Firefox 4 that runs on OS X 10.4/10.5 and PPC Macs, for details see http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox

View maps on OBIEE 11g Dashboard

Hi All,
My Installation: I have OBIEE 11g installed on Windows Server 2008. My Database is SQL Server 2012.
My Requirement: Display maps in OBIEE Dashboard.
Firstly, from the various posts available online, I have understood that the OBIEE 11g MapViewer works ONLY with Oracle database. If this is true then I need another way to view maps because I don't have Oracle DB.
Can I have Google maps on my OBIEE dashboard ?
Any suggestions/advice will be highly appreciated.

Images do not load in foxfire, but load ok in IE. such as the zoom bar in google maps

I'm using Firefox 9. when I goto sites such as amazon, the images do not load. I can right click on the image box and select view image and the image will be displayed in a new page. An other example is google maps. The zoom bar on the left does not display. If I move the cursor over where the zoom bar is suppose to be the cursor will change to the hand and I can left click to work the zoom. If I bring up Internet Explorer all images, etc work ok.

You can use these steps to check if images are blocked:
*Open the web page that has the images missing in a browser tab.
*Click the website favicon ([[Site Identity Button]]) on the left end of the location bar.
*Click the "More Information" button to open the "Page Info" window with the Security tab selected (also accessible via "Tools > Page Info").
*Go to the <i>Media</i> tab of the "Tools > Page Info" window.
*Select the first image link and scroll down through the list with the Down arrow key.
*If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.

Color Fill Google Map in OBIEE

Hi all,
I have a requirement to display a MapView in a OBIEE analysis with the states areas colored. I've already configured Google Maps in MapViewer and I'm able to display a single map in a analysis. The problem is: how am I going to set the borders of each state and fill the inside area and plot it over the map? Anyone have some ideia or suggestion that can help me?

Well, what beloblotskiy says above is true but I suspect you will want to pass parameters to your Google chart from your Answers request? If that is the case then it is more tricky because you would need to use some javascript in a narrative view and - here's the annoying part - there is a bug in 11g which means the narrative view does not accept HTML markup. It is due to be fixed in 11.1.1.4.

i am using IE and after filling the boxes in narrative view in preview it is showing "retrieving view"...
but even after long time it displays nothing...

OBIEE 11g MAPVIEWER-00011 Error

For anyone who has been receiving this error when using the Mapviewer Admin Screen and attempting to connect to a data source I hope this comes in handy.
BEFORE YOU EVEN JUMP IN AN DO THIS ENSURE YOU HAVE A BACKUP FOLDER WITH THE JAR FILES YOU ARE ABOUT TO OVERWRITE: Just in Case.
Copy ONLY the Corresponding Named 11g db's Jar Files
from
<your Path>\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\jdbc\lib
To
<your path>Weblogic\Oracle_BI1\jdbc\lib
And the Jar Files from:
<Your Path>product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\RDBMS\jlib
To
<your Path>Weblogic\Oracle_BI1\RDBMS\jlib
Shutdown down the entire application and restart.
The error that most people are recieving (MAPVIEWER-00011) is a JDBC Driver Error where the Jar files in weblogic are incompatible with the new database ones. Doesn't this bring back memories of copying the jar files over in order to get the DAC to work in OBI 10g.

Google Map Issue in OBIEE - Subject area not getting associated

Hi Gurus,
We are trying to integrate Google map and OBIEE via mapviewer. We have done the following already -
1. Loaded World Sample data from Navteq.
2. Configured mapviewer source and added Google map as a tile layer with the API KEY.
3. Imported one layer (e.g. M_STATES_ABRV) in OBIEE and linked it with BI subject area (tried this step with importing other layers as well)
4. Added background map.
Now , in this step when we add the layer in the map, we select M_STATES_ABRV and change zoom levels. But Once we come back to main screen after Clicking OK, we see the background map is not associated with the subject area. Hence any map view report creation with this subject area fails.
We have the tried the same theme with Oracle Maps (internal type like WORLD MAP or DEMO MAP), it works fine. only Google Map gives this issue.
This was not expected. Please suggest what we missed. We tried with cache clear, tile delete and recreation, service restart almost everything .
We looked into other threads in this community, different oracle support documents - Doc ID 1485088.1,Doc ID 1346805.1 etc and in different internet blogs - where it's easy as child's play, but we are still out of luck.
OBIEE version - 11.1.1.7.140527
Environment- windows server 2008 R2
Please suggest.

I have found the solution: You need to *select* zoom levels for the BI Layer. When a BI Layer is added to a background map, by default no zoom layers are selected. Once a zoom level is selected, the BI Layer will save.

Issue in OBIEE 11G Google Maps

Hi All,
Am able to use the Google maps in OBIEE 11G and built the Barchart that should show X-Axis : Cities , Y-Axis : Measure for each State . But the problem is when i click on one state , it is showing all the cities and metric in the map instead of showing only corresponding cities of particular state.

On the left hand corner you will see list of views in the report, on a basic analysis you will see title and table view. Select the table view and click on edit ( pencil symbol ). A new page opens up, scroll down a little and you will see the columns included and columns excluded sections. Make sure the column that you are trying to add to the report is not present in the excluded list. If it is, drag and drop it above.

Google Maps zooms with Apple magic mouse

Ever since I bought the Apple magic mouse, I've noticed that whenever I use Google Maps via my desktop Apple, the map will zoom without me telling it to in street view. This is INCREDIBLY annoying when trying to view a street or move across the map. Anyway one else encounter this issue? Anyone have a solution?

Hey Dogs 'n Front- I have the same problem- I've had a Magic Mouse for years and never had the zoom problem with Google maps up until maybe a year ago?It's actually a fairly common problem that even CNET had an article about it a few years ago- sadly the problem still exists. I have a MacBook Air as well and have no problem with the trackpad scroll zoom and Google Maps, seems the Magic Mouse is just too sensitive...

Google maps issue in obiee

I am trying to integrate google maps in obiee. I have generated API key using my local url(http://owner-pc:9704/) from code.google.com and using it.
My issue is when i generate a report in the narrative section, its only displaying a blank image saying
" retriving results..please wait" ....................but doesnt display anything

I think there are some bugs in the Google recent updates. I am on GB on Xperia ray and yet i have Play store always running (sneakily) in the background (takes up7-9MB ram) and usually there is one Google map running (i dont know why, i hate that) and i have seen up to 3 maps running sometimes consuming 15-20MB ram!
I think the bottomline for all companies (Sony,google) is to test out the software thoroughly and not be hasty in just sending updates (which are pointless). In this aspect i have alot of respect for Apple.
