Removed bluetooth device by accident

Hello fellow Mac Lovers!
     I was trying to pair my JBL Speaker/Microphone and when I had the Bluetooth Preferences open I right clicked on the wrong JBL device and selected "Remove" and it removed it.  Now, I want to add it back but I cannot find how to do that.  Can you help me add it back?  I've tried removing the plist files but that didn't help.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Brian

Hi dominic23 and Mac smarties, This was NOT helpful at all.  Please try what I am asking about before you reply.
If a user (you) opens System Preferences and selects BlueTooth you will be shown a list of the available devices that you could attempt to pair to.
If you RIGHT CLICK on a device the menu items has "Remove" as an option.  If you select "Remove" the device disappears and you will never see that device in the detected Devices window again.
THIS IS MY PROBLEM.
How do I get it to show in my screen again???
What I imagine is that there is a list being maintained that holds all the devices that you never want to see again.  This list is what I am looking for.  If I had the source I would simply traverse the code and go clean the file.
What I imagine is that this file that tracks the devices I never want to see again in a profile Var or a file located in my User preferences area.  I have not been able to find this yet but, I am certain that it is in some .ignore or blacklist.cfg that the device code checks before showing the entire list.
Once more please, I would appreciate any of the few Mac iOS geniuses to read this and say "Oh simple man, it is here *****.  Credit please :-)"
Thank you,
Brian

  • Cannot remove bluetooth devices in iOS 8

    In bluetooth settings, I am trying to remove a bluetooth device using iOS 8 on an iPhone 5; however, when I select the device, "Forget This Device" is greyed out and unavailable. I have done some searching and found that this can happen with jailbroken phones, but mine is not jailbroken. I now have two devices that are in my iPhone bluetooth settings that have this issue: my iMac and my iPad.
    Anyone else seeing this or knows of a fix?

    I just found a solution that worked for me by disabling Handoff in both my iMac and my iPhone.
    For OSX:
    System Preferences → General and scroll down. Uncheck Allow Handoff between this Mac and iCloud devices
    In iOS:
    Go to Settings → General, scroll down and turn off the switch for Enable Handoff
    I was then able to select forget for the desired bluetooth devices, and then switch Handoff back on.

  • Can't remove bluetooth device in file explorer.

    I had an LG LS970 Phone paired with my windows 8.1 HP touchsmart PC. After I uninstalled the phone under bluetooth devices, it keeps showing up on my File Explorer. When I double click on it, an FTP No Response dialog box pops up. When i right click
    on it, it does not give me an option to delete it. How do i get rid of it? I am also trying to pair my iPad with my PC but its not working. I think this might be a problem. Please help.

    Hi,
    According to your description, it must the driver which relate with LG-LS970 no uninstall completely.
    First of all, please check Programs in Control Panel, make sure the Bluetooth related driver removed completely.
    Seondly, Access to Device Manager, check is it had Bluetooth device driver, if so, uninstall or disable it.
    Thirdly, Open Registry, CTRL+F, search LG-LS970, if it found any value, delete it.

  • Remove bluetooth device - device not available

    I have a iPhone 5 and recently traded in a car that was paired via bluetooth. I did not think to undo the pairing prior to saying goodbye.
    I know it is not a big issue and won't mess with the new vehicle, but I just like things neat and tidy and would like to remove it from the list.
    The real stinky thing about it is that both vehicles are the same model and I now have two items in the list with the same name and only one is valid.
    Any way to delete it?

    I was attempting to remove the device from the list on the phone. For some reason I could not do that when selecting the device. It would not go to the that next screen. This is while I was connected to the new vehicle.
    Once I was away from the vehicle, where it could not connect, I was able to access that additional screen and forget the device. I did this before I saw your response. But you are absolutely correct. I would just add a caveat to not have any connection with any bluetooth device while attempting to forget another device unless of course it is the device that you are currently connected to.
    Chris - Thank you for your response

    Is there a way to "recall" or "remember" forgotten/removed bluetooth devices?I've seen this question around the web on different forums, but no answers.

  • Removing unused Bluetooth devices

    My wife and I have iphone 6's and we see several Bluetooth devices listed under My Devices in Bluetooth Settings.  They are not connected, but when I select the i button, there is no content under the device and the "Forget This Device" is greyed out and does not allow selection. How can I get rid of these listings??

  • Restore bluetooth device after removal in bluetoothctl?

    Hi all
    I removed a device in bluetoothctl with "remove <dev>". Now, this device is not visible anymore with the "devices" command in bluetoothctl and I'm not able to pair or connect the device. How can I "restore" the device? The device works perfectly when connecting from another pc.
    Thanks for any help!
    Regards, Michelee

    you should be able to type "connect <dev>" to get it back, otherwise try "scan on" and then hit the "connect" button on your device (assuming it has one)

  • How to remove a device which doesn't exist any longer

    Since Snow Leopard iSync looks for my historic device Siemens S65 when syncing with MobileMe. I then removed the device from the bluetooth-list. But iSync is still searching and giving me an error alert.
    In the iSynch menue you can add a new device but not remove an old one which is not connected.
    The problem is, that the old Siemens S65 does not exist any longer.
    Has anyone an idea?
    Thanks in advance

    Thanks, Julian!
    Your answer was helpful and now it works properly!
    But in addition: while syncing on my MacBook with MobileMe the process runs without starting the application iSync. On my iMac it does and after syncing it does not quit automatically.
    Any explanation for that?
    Thanks and greetings from Hamburg, Germany

    The Bluetooth setup assistant should "find" a device in range when that device is turned on. What are you trying to add?

    If you get some form of response (vibration, blinking LED etc) when you try to power it on then please try running a repair:
    1. Before you start you have to download the PC Companion software from http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/pc-companion/
    and install it on your PC.
    2. Once installed on your PC, double-click the PC Companion icon on your desktop to start the update.
    Note! For some models you will be prompted to do a backup prior to the update and then restore.
    3. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.
    4. Phone Software Update.
    5. Start.
    6. Repair Phone
    7. Continue
    8. Accept data removal

  • Blackberry Device Manager can't find 9320 Bluetooth device (even Bluetooth is switched on and set to Discoverable)

    I want to sync my Blackberry 9320 via Bluetooth to a Windows 7 Professional machine using a Bluetooth adapter. Syncing using USB cable works fine.
    I can Bluetooth pair with the 9320 and also send / receive files to /from the Windows 7 machine. Fantastic !
    HOWEVER, Blackberry Device Manager can not find the 9320 Bluetooth device (even Bluetooth is switched on and set to Discoverable) - see screen shots below.
    By the way I have already tried (amongst other things) “Manually Install RIM Virtual Serial Ports in Microsoft® Windows® 7” on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gK2n5dHxGHI  Unfortunately, this does now work - the drivers do load up OK and remove the warning signs when view in Windows Device Manager, but Blackberry Device Manager still can't see my 9320.
    Please help !

    I have the exact same problem with my 9360. I have also tried all the fixes I could find on the Internet with no luck. I have posted a request as well. I will let you know if I find a solution. What gets me though is that this appears to be a long standing issue with no obvious fix! Best of luck.

  • Bluetooth device delete

    just synced new iPhone 6 plus,  I don't know what I did or how it happened, I have my iPad mini and old Iphone 5 in list of devices in Bluetooth
    I can't seem to delete the devices.  Can anyone help?

    It's a bit involved. I had done it last August.
    Had the same problem of old device name appearing in the Bluetooth File Exchange. Tried the following….
    1. Stop Bluetooth.
    2. Went to the com.apple.Bluetooth.plist file in ~\Library\Preference folder.
    3. Back up the preference file to Desktop.
    4. Open the file with Property List Editor and there is a “FavoriteDevices” array that list your current favorite Bluetooth devices. Further down, you should see another key “RecentDevices” that list current & old devices. Match the FavoriteDevices and RecentDevices and remove the “extras” from the RecentDevices list.
    5. Restart Bluetooth.
    The old devices should be removed from list when you restart Bluetooth File Exchange.

  • Bluetooth device panel not saving devices

    Hello everyone,
    I have an original Macbook Pro (Dual Core 1) and I have a little bluetooth issue.
    First of all, I have a logitech bluetooth keyboard and mouse. Both have been working correctly in windows for several months. Just recently both stopped working.
    I removed both devices and am attempting to readd them; here's the problem:
    I am able to complete the bluetooth setup wizard successfully, and my Logitech Travel Mouse appears correctly, but my mouse will not track. If I click ok on the window and reopen the bluetooth settings, my mouse is gone.
    I'm running Windows XP professional fully updated to service pack 3. I did not recently update (unless it was a security update), I have been running SP3 for quite awhile. It really seems that Windows is unable to access or modify my settings for Bluetooth.
    I have also noticed that under Services there's a button that says "Use drivers for keyboard/mouse HID". This box is unchecked, but when I try to check it I get the message "Access Denied".
    Any thoughts?

    Oh, and I should mention the mouse and keyboard both work fine when I boot into Mac OS X.

  • Bluetooth device detection

    Hi everyone!
    (I am newb at Java, and im looking for a very simple application (i think), but im not sure how to find what im looking for, i tried sourceforge.net, but i dont know how to run the java source files.)
    What im looking for is an app for PC that searches for bluetooth devices in the area, and logs their MAC address into a file (preferably .xml)
    It should continuously search for devices, and update the .xml file everytime it finds a new device, or an old one dissapears, so i always know what devices are in the area at this excact moment.
    Have you ever heard of such a thing, or do you simply have some good keywords for me to use :) Either way i would be very thankful for your help! :)
    Cheers,
    Lars

    Ok, here is my code a bit more formatted:
    public void run() {
    lock = new Object();
    while (!done) {
      doSearch();
        try {
        thread.sleep(DISCOVERY_LATENCY); //2000ms

    try {
    //get local bluetooth device
    local = LocalDevice.getLocalDevice();
    //get discovery agent
    agent = local.getDiscoveryAgent();
    //start a new Bluetooth discovery inquiry
    agent.startInquiry(DiscoveryAgent.GIAC,this);
    //we lock the thread and wait the end of the current inquiry
    synchronized(lock) {
        try {
        lock.wait();
        } catch (InterruptedException e) {}
    } catch (Exception e) {}
    *We detected one bluetooth devices
    public void deviceDiscovered(javax.bluetooth.RemoteDevice remoteDevice, javax.bluetooth.DeviceClass deviceClass) {
    try {
    // get the bluetooth MAC address of that device and remove any white space

    if(checkTable(value) && doneDetection == false)
    doneDetection = true;

    } catch (Exception e) {
