Removed second monitor - Application still thinks its there

I had a second monitor connected to my MBP. I had iMovie opened last startup. I'm not with the second monitor now but cant get iMovie back on the main display. I have restarted, shut down, etc.
help!

What happens if, with iMovie open but its window(s) not showing, you choose the Zoom command from iMovie's Window menu?

you bought the upgrade version meaning you have a previously purchased lightroom. after entering your lr5 serial number you're being prompted for that previous version's serial number.
enter the correct number at the correct time and installation will proceed.
if you made an error and do not own a previous version, Return, cancel, or exchange an Adobe order

Desktop icons off screen when removing second monitor

Hi there, well I have found a few bugs so far using Leopard so thought I should see if anyone else is getting them:
@ I use a second monitor, and if I remove the monitor, although the rest of the OS resizes to just the laptop, the desktop icons are nowhere to be seen.
@ My USB mouse doesn't work any more.
@ Although I prefer the way the connected servers now work, there is a problem in Finder, where I have to restart Finder to be able to see some connections.
Apart from that I am pretty happy with the speed improvements and there are less bugs for me than I had read about (although obviously as production software you would expect minimum bugs!).

I have the exact same problem, MacBook Pro 15" 2.33 GHz and the same type of Apple display. I use the display at the office, disconnect, bring my PB home, and when I wake it up the PB acts like the display is till connected - no desktop icons visible (although strangely, it shows the Dock and the Finder Menu) until after I restart.
Clicking "detect displays" doesn't work, neither does clicking the highlighted configuration.
My daughter also has a problem with her MacBook and her Apple Cinema display, which has to be set as mirrored or it won't display anything, it somehow isn't detected the way it used to be. Why I mentioned this is because I never had this problem before, and neither did my daughter. It started quite recently, so I guess it is related to a system software update.

How can I view itunes visualizer on my second monitor whilst still using my primary monitor

it's a nightmare! I have a windows laptop, i drag the itunes widow over to the 2nd monitor switch to visualizer press full screen and it works on my second monitor but my primary monitor goes black so i can't do anything! please help!

There's nothing you can do.

I still think its flash player

sometime ago I posted a message here about an error message I was getting every time I used an application called vchatter on facebook the error message read a script in this movie is causing adobe flash player to run slowly if it continues your computer may become unresponsive do you want to abort the script yes or no, I was assured that this was an error with the app and not flash player, lately I have noticed while using the same app internet explorer or any other web browser freezes then I get a message saying internet explorer has encountered a problem with an add on and needs to close the following add on was running when the problem occured flash 10i.ocx, in any other web browser I use I get such messages as the flash plug in has crashed, is there a problem with my flash player and how can I correct it.

I have recently started using the app I am having trouble with in google chrome where it is easy to disable the plug in I am having trouble with however after disabling the plug in I discovered that I couldnt use the app at all, I also discovered that shockwave flash is part of flash player so I reckon if there was a bug fix for flash player it may solve my problems I also discovered that sometimes the app crashes after around 7 mins. then again it could last for an hour I really need to sort this and the developers of the app are of no help whatsoever there is a lot of different information on shockwave flash and flashplayer in google chrome so if there is any way I could be helped sort this I would really appreciate it.

Program/Applications open on phantom second monitor

I used to have a second display connected to the iMac. After upgrading to Lion, I disconnected it as it does not really work in the full screen display with Lion. However, some of my programs that were on the second display still think its on that second display. Despite the fact that there is no second screen attached or configured in Displays control panel.
It is annoying because a program will be open, however, I cannot find the program (other than seeing the menu bar on the top). When I click in the Dock, under OPtions, and show program or move to this screen, then I see it (or when I go to Expose), but I can never drag it permanently to see it on the main screen.

After many days i found solution:
Run the client and get it set up the way you prefer, or Open your saved RDP file
On the Display tab, choose a non-fullscreen resolution.
On the General tab, click "delete these credentials", if possible.
Click Connect .
You will immediately get a local login dialog. Leave it blank and click
OK .
When you are connected and the remote login dialog appears, drag the window to the desired monitor.
On the remote login dialog, click Cancel . The settings dialog should reappear locally.
On the Display tab, you can now choose fullscreen.
You can now save your session with the Save button on the
General tab, as well as save your login credentials.
Try more times ,worked for me.

Application Manager thinks a program is installed but it's not.

The Application Manager says Fireworks is installed, but it's not. I think the application got deleted, but the only way to redownload it is via the Application Manger, which thinks its there.
Any ideas on how to fix this? Adobe Support said the wait was 2 hours and nobody is available to chat.

because it was not well un install, for all those who read this too works, this was for muse but you can find any program. it will uninstall clean and then you will be able to install.
was not well uninstalled, i gave them a hard time a little. i'm on mac if you are not still follow the links and go back on its track to find the pc page.

No signal for second monitor

I have a Pavilion Elite HPE 340 CH. It has a BENQ monitor which is plugged in via an adaptor and works fine.
I tried to add a second monitor. I unscrewed the small plate and plugged the second monitor into the socket but there's no signal. I tried swapping the two monitors and it is just the second socket which is not ouputting any thing.
Can you help?

Here are the specs for your HP Pavilion Elite HPE-340ch Desktop Computer and its MS-7613 (Iona-GL8E) Motherboard. According to the specs, the system came with a discrete Radeon HD5570 (2 GB) graphics card thats supports HDMI, DVI, and DisplayPort (DVI-to-VGA adapter cable) outputs. The motherboard in your computer has an integrated graphics adapter that supports DVI-D and VGA outputs, however they are blanked off and unusable because of the installed discrete graphics card. These integrated outputs are located between the sound jacks and USB/networking jacks on the back of your computer and are non-functional. Please replace the blanking which you have removed and use the outputs from the discrete graphics card.
Please provide the make and model of both monitors, so that we can determine what is needed to make yuor configuration work for you.

Items load to second monitor that no longer exists

I've been using 2 monitors for a long time. For reasons not worth getting into I can have only one now. The trouble is that some things remember they were on the second monitor and still insist on opening themselves to that monitor - even when it does not exist. My sticky notes is a case in point. How do I get things like my notes to forgive and most importantly, forget?

Well, I did as you suggested, and I don't know if what happened was supposed to happen but my machine was returned to the state in which I first got it. The stickies I created are all gone - just the three that Apple creates are there. My dock has returned to the original state; all of my saved email is gone; my address book entries with all of my passwords and accounts are gone. This was the equivalent of dropping a thermonuclear bomb to kill a pesty mosquito. Well, the mosquito is indeed dead.

Second monitor stopped working with MSI Cyclone OC 460GTX 1Gb

Hi everyone!
I recently bought this card and it worked well for about a month. I woke up one morning to see my second monitor having turned black. There appears to be a signal of some sort since I don't get the "no signal/input" message, but there's no response no matter what I try. I went back to the shop and they confirmed the same error which was then believed to be a broken secondary DVI port. They tested a new card and found it to be working, but I got the same black screen when I came home and plugged it in.
I'm using a 24'' BenQ G2400WD and a Samsung SyncMaster 173T. As they worked well together for about a month and did so on my old 9800GT as well I have no reason to expect the actual monitors to be the cause. They both work fine on DVI 1, but none of them do on DVI 2.
I'm currently sitting with my second card and have tried the following things:
- clean install of new drivers
- uninstalling the last windows updates before the second DVI port stopped working (and then doing a clean install of drivers)
- confirmed that both monitors work on the other port
I've talked to the shop again and they told me they got the card I handed in to work by making sure it was properly connected. I've made sure of this myself as well of course, but without any luck. The guys at this place are known for being good at what they do so I have no reason to suspect that they overlooked anything obvious. The fact that they've gotten both cards to work at their place puzzles me a bit.
My current theory is either a bad batch of cards or some sort of windows update breaking dual screen support. I would expect to have heard about it if it was a windows issue, but both cases might be underreported given that most people only use one monitor. I filled in relevant information in my signature to the best of my knowledge. Please let me know if I've missed something and I'll try to figure it out.

OK, I will let you know. First update:
Vendor has already given me a RMA number(less than 2 hours). The VGA card should hopefully be in the snail mail process tomorrow.
One weird thing, my RMA was degraded from replace to repair. Not quite sure about that one? Not sure if that means that it will be replaced or sent to MSI from vendor for repair/or vendor will attempt repair? Only time will tell, I guess. The only great thing is that just one of these 4890 Cyclone OC cards beats out a single 3870x2 vga card hands down. And thanks to this forum, I was taking some time to read up on this forum. I must say I am impressed, keep up the good work moderators and MSI. Thanks and will keep you updated. Special thanks to Svet.

Red desktop on second monitor problem

Hi,im having a strange issue with a cinema hd display set up as a second monitor on an imac, its showing the desktop fine but its all red coloured.
If i connect a 17" hanns g monitor using the dvi its fine but if i connect an lg monitor that shows up red aswell although the lg works fine on a pc.
Has anyone else had or know of this problem, thanks.

If it's happening with two monitors, it doesn't sound like a compatibility problem. In fact, it sounds a lot like what happens when either pins are bent or else connections are made loosely.
Try checking the pins to make sure none are bent over in the cable being used. Also, when the cable is attached, make sure the thumb screws that hold it down are fully tightened.
