Removing a computer from itunes account

I just replaced my Macbook with an Air. Now, I need to remove my old macbook and add the Air to my account. How can I do this without erasing my iPhone? I I just want a few things from my phone on my new computer; I have a Mac mini that functions as the workhorse of the group and it also wants to replace the books and photos on my phone with the ones on my computer. I want to add the missing books to my computer, not delete them from my phone or iPad... Can this be done? Thanks in advance for any advice or help!
(BTW, iPad is my mobile library, it contains research, scanned books, excerpts, as well as my own notes on the previous items. It is rather precious to me & I don't know how I can back all of this up onto my mini without jeopardizing these documents, so I just use iCloud. Any suggestions

Log in to your account through itunes go to "store" menu and hit view my account. De-authorize all computers. Then authorize again your computers

On your computer's iTunes you should be able to edit your payment info by going into the Store > View Account menu option and logging into your account, and on your account's details page there should be a payment link. If you are doing it on your iPhone then try tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and select 'View Apple ID' on the popup - that should also give you a payments link on your account's page.

It is a two-step process. In iTunes pull down Store > Turn off iTunes Match. Then Store > Deauthorize this computer.
Also, it is strongly recommended that you format the HDD of the comptuer before you dispose of it. Just make sure you make a backup of all important data first so you can move it to the new computer.

I'm trying to remove my credit card information for my itunes account. I go to Account Settings - Payment Information - Edit
I see the credit card types but I do not see the "None" radio button that I've been reading about in discussions and forums.
Can someone please help me ?
Could this be an OS X 10.7.2 issue ?

You will of course not be able to get anything other than the free apps without entering in some sort of payment method (credit card, prepaid iTunes card, gift certificate, etc.)

How Do I Remove Credit Card From iTunes Account?

Hi,
Is there a way to remove ANY and ALL payment information from my iTunes account? And still have access to to it? Be able to receve the free updates and fix corrupted files?
I see one can now set up and account without a credit card but can you switch over to this option? ie; pay as you go?
If you haven't noticed Apple has been allowing a great number of false charges to go through and in my case double billing.
Of course I have to have a payment method on file to acces my updates and access my purchases. This is exasperated as due to new Mac hardware and OS ALL of my iTunes songs are corrupted ( even the back-ups so it is clearly an Apple software/hardware issue that is not allowing my, legitamitly purchased through iTunes store, songs play properly) and multile downloads are required sometimes to fix this.
Completely opting out or starting a new account would render all my previous purchases near worthless in the long run.

1) It's actually usually a download issue that is causing your items to not download properly. Make sure to update your iTunes to the latest version, and if you have this issue, simply delete the item and go back into the Purchased pane (on the front page of iTunes Store) and redownload it if available. If not, contact iTunes Store and they'll usually allow the download to you again. Don't go purchasing them again, as this just causes you to get charged again. Hopefully knowing this will save you some of these charges in the future.
2) You can, if you don't have any due funds to the iTunes Store, go into your Billing Information within the iTunes Store and choose "None". Here's a link with some info on that:

3) Contact iTunes Store Support if you are having too many issues. They'll be glad to help you out with any of this.

I have been trying to download FREE apps and recently it says its not valid and to change it. I don't have a real card or money to spend for an iTunes card. Begin by opening the iTunes program and going to the iTunes Store via the iTunes Store button in the top right.
Once you're at the iTunes Store, click on the Sign In button at the top left corner (if you're not signed in) or on your account name in the same location (if you're already signed in).
This will bring you to your iTunes account. In the top box, you'll see a section labelled Computer Authorizations towards the bottom. Next to it is a button that reads Deauthorize All. Click it.
A window will pop up asking you to confirm that this is what you want to do. Continue.
In just a few seconds, all 5 computers on your account will be deauthorized.
Now, re-authorize just the computers that you still use and you'll be all set.
