Removing a iphone from syncing with my work iphone and ipad
I have recently got a new iphone from work and given my iphone (4) to my daughter (mum still paying the contract!) how do I stop her getting my imessages, which still show on my old phone? Can't seem to remove from my account..
you can go to settings and store and sign the appleID out
but easy way is to restore it to fectory settings and start it over as a new one
of cause this does mean she will loose all apps bought with your appleID but there is no way around that happening unless you also disable iMessage support in settings

Does "Deleted Messages - Remove" on iPhone and iPad refer to the server, or just the device?
I have been trying to understand the settings in iOS devices in mail apps "Deleted Messages - Remove" and the selection of time including never. Does this refer to deleting from the severs - wherever/whomever they are - or from the device itself. This appears in the advance settings in mail for pop accounts.
If never is selected, is that so the sever holds it for the computer's mail client to see (albeit as unread) and trash it then (where it could be on sever forever if desired) or does that mean it will not be removed it from the iPhone or iPad until trashed and therefore not seen by one's other devices/computer.
Be gentle - this is my first question.Your scores will not sync. You will have "different scores' on each device. And say if the game has different levels that you have to unlock, your progress on one device will not sync to the other.

I have Itunes set up to sync with my Ipod touch and Ipad. As of today, iTunes has started searching to sync with an iPhone, which I don't have and pops open with an error message stating it cannot locate the iPhone to sync. I have looked in devices and only the iPad and iPod Touch are listed. Any ideas on how to stop iTunes from searching for any iPhone it is never going to find? It is annoying to have it popping up all the time with the error message. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

They would only be where you put them. What program did you use to import them? Pics/vids taken with ipod are not part of the sync process at all. You should be importing them just as you would with any digital camera.
If you did not import them, then they are not on your computer. -
I don't have the original laptop my iphone was set up on. I have backed up all my data on icloud. If I sync with my new laptop and erase all my contents(restore to factory settings), can I then get it all from icloud?
I have the same problem as the emails go to my iCloud account that I cannot access!!! I cannot answer the security questions as someone else must have set up my iCloud account. Nothing seems to work. It would be great if someone has some ideas as what can be done to recover the situation?

First, be sure that the contacts on the devices are in the "icloud" section and not the "On my iPhone" (or iPad) section of the contact listings/groups.
Missing contacts:
Here's a test to perform - using a computer's browser, log into icloud.com and go to the Contacts page. If most of them are gone, then they are gone.
If they show up, then the problem is that your device is not connecting to the Contacts database on icloud.
On the device, go to Settings>icloud. Be sure icloud is on and using the right ID. If not, scroll to the bottom of the page and tap Delete Account - this just disconnects the device from that account, no data is lost. Then log back in using the correct ID. ALSO - be sure the Contacts are turned on (on the same screen).
Note: Contacts are not part of an iCloud backup, since they are part of contacts database on iCloud's servers. So performing a restore will not help.

Then they have been deleted. There are many reasons for this. One possibility is that someone else is using the same iCloud account (family member, etc.) and they deleted contacts, thinking they did want them on THEIR device. How to get them back? Unfortunately, an iCloud backup does not include any of the sync databases, like contacts, notes, calendars, reminders, etc. because the data is already stored in these databases. Your only hope for restoring the data is if you had that data on a computer (like a mac's Contacts, Calendars, etc.) and that data was backed up using whatever backup software you typically use (e.g. Time Machine on a mac). Just restore the data files back to the computer. Other than that, I'm afraid the data is gone. -

Apparantly it is, On My Mac contacts don't appear in iCloud, anywhere.
Put all your contacts on all of your devices in iCloud (assuming that's where you want them to be)
Go to www.icloud.com, login and see what you actually have in the account. -

You can disable the Adobe Reader plugin in Firefox (Tools > Add-ons > Plugins) and use the external Adobe Reader application or Preview application instead.

- The iTunes backup that iTunes makes included photos in the camera roll. If yo go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices what is the date of the backup? Is it when the photos were on the iPod? You have to restore from that backup.
- What may have happened is that you backup the iPod after you restored the iPod but before restoring from backup. iTunes only keeps one backup and overwrites the previous backup with the changes. -

Thanks for Help!!!All I had to do was complain. I synced my iPhone to the Windows machine, checked the other account at iTunes prompting (where no apps had shown up previously), reconnected the iPad, and 140 apps downloaded including the App Store. I have no idea why.

You don't need iPhoto on your mobile devices in order to use Photostream.
It also doesn't make any difference where you purchased iPhoto from to use PhhotoStream on your Mac.
However if you are updating iPhoto on your Mac, it is updated using the Mac app store, which uses it's own ID, which may or may not be the same as the ID you use for iTunes. -

There is a discussion on this issue:
TS4118: If you see duplicate calendars or events after setting up iCloud Calendar.
However, the suggestion there is, if the duplicates are also in your icloud, to delete the duplicates MANUALLY.
I have been using ical or its predecessor since 1999. Removing all the duplicates between 1999 and 2014 manually is not why I have a computer.
I noticed the problem after having upgraded from 10.7.5 to 10.9.2. Before 10.9, I did the syncing of my mac with iphone and ipad over the cable and itune. this worked fine.
Since after upgrading to 10.9 you have to do it over icloud, this is what I did.

I purchased four songs in iTunes, downloaded them, then did a sync with both my iPhone and iPad. All songs show up in the libraries of both devices. I then added these songs to a playlist on the computer then synced both devices again. According to iTunes on the computer, all four songs are in the playlists on both devices. However, on the actual devices, only two of the four are in the playlists. All four are still showing up in the library. I created another playlist specifically for these four songs to see what would happend, dragged them to the playlist on the computer, then did another sync. Once again, according to the computer, all the songs are in the playlists on the devices. However, only two of the four are actually in the playlists on the phone and iPad. Any ideas what's going on?

I had a very similar issue (same playlist). After several frustrating hours of various combinations I was able to sync by changing the options to "manuall sync.." and then "dragging and dropping" the needed playlist from the iTunes Playlist list to the iPhone button (on my itunes setup/view that was from the far left column list of all of my playlist in iTunes to the far upper right "iPhone" button). To sum up "checking" the playlist and syncing didnt work, "drag and droping" the playlist did... at least for now... then I unselected the "manually manage" in the options and re-synced and all playlist were synced correctly. My wife and I both have iPhones and iPads. Can we both have access to the same iTunes Match library or do we have to have separate subscriptions? Our devices are synced to the same computer and we currently download titles from the same library. We both use separate apple id's on our devices.
You need to reconfigure your phone for use with your Apple ID. I suggest you restore yours as new then reconfigure it with your information and Apple ID. Be sure to disable Find My Phone, if it's enabled, before proceeding.

You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.
You can restore from a backup if you have one from BEFORE you set the restrictions passcode.
