During county recycling, we collect any or all desktops or laptops that can be made usable for those who can't afford any other computer. On our last round up, we received a Powerbook G4 but no software. It doesn't have a working dvd but we can manage that with an external drive. The big problem is that we can not pass on any computer with personal information on it. This Powerbook has a password! I have had no luck in finding the former owner as he/she could remove the password for us. We can't afford the cost of the OS. Is there any other way to remove a password so that the laptop can be made usable?

Only if it is bootable. If it requires a Firmware Password to startup the computer that would require a special trick. If the computer is at least bootable, then see:

Help removing restriction password

I recently updated my iPad and it automatically created a restriction password which I did not put I need to know how to remove the restriction password. Also I tried synchronizing my iPad to iTunes but it won't work need another way to to remove restriction password without sync to computer cause it does not work.

Add/Remove a password to an individual PDF without navigating entire security process?

Is there a procedure/plug-in/script/utility that will allow me to add/remove a password to a single PDF without creating a batch script?
I create many (dozens) PDF's throughout the course of a a day, either as an export from InDeisgn CS5.5 or via printing to the Adobe Acrobat Converter. I would simply create watched folders on my desktop to add or remove a password but I haven't found a way to identify security-enabled PDF files without having to open the file.
I have only two scenarios for creating PDF files as it relates to security. The first includes Printing: HIGH RESOLUTION and Changes Allowed: NONE. The second includes Printing: LO-RESOLUTION and Changes Allowed: COMMENTING, ETC.
What would really be great is if there was a script that I could access as a Windows Explorer extension that would allow me to add/remove passwors to one or more selected files. It would even be better if, after enabling password security, I could some identify the security status of a file by it's icon or some other visual manner that didn't effect the name of the file.
I hope I have narrated my situation clearly enough. I look forward to comments or suggestions.

Not possible with Adobe software - Acrobat's context menu in Windows Explorer is not something you can customize or extend, nor can Acrobat or Adobe Reader change the system icon for a file based on the internal structure of the document.

An iTunes account cannot be transferred to or created on an iOS device by itself.
Did you sync your iPhone with iTunes when iTunes was logged in with your kid's iTunes account - did you transfer any iTunes content to your iPhone including apps that were downloaded with your kid's iTunes account?
If so, this is why you are being prompted for the password for that iTunes account.

No. A simple backup and restore just restores the restriction password from the backup you just made, unless you revert to a backup before the password was set. The other option is recovery which deletes all data.

Your iCloud password is your Apple ID and password. You must know it since you are posting here.
Have you transfered your MMe account to iCloud? If not, open iCloud in system preferences and sign in with your Apple ID and password.
If you have transfered it to iCloud, do this:
Go to the iCloud icon in System Preferences and open it. Sign out of iCloud.
Open Mail. If the iCloud or MMe account still exists in Mail's preferences under accounts, select the account and delete it. Then sign back into iCloud and choose Mail and any other applications in iCloud that you use. The Mail account should be put into Mail automatically.
Signing out of iCloud should remove the account from Mail and signing back in should put it back. There is no manuel account creation by you when using Apple Mail application.

How do i reset my Iphone 4 password without restoring to default?

Recently I've been having problems with my roommates watching me enter my password which forced me to change it periodically.
Only now I can't remember what I changed it to most recently and restoring it to factory settings isn't really an option considering the volume of the content on the device.
I've been without access to my phone for the past week and it's getting almost aggravating having to call and talk to some lady about the issue I'm having, having her sound very empathetic and saying they could "assist me in resolving this today", only to have her say that I'd need to pay $30 just to have her tell me a few words.
I don't have $30 right now and I think it's beyond stupid that they're 'unable to help' me because of this.
In the Backups section of the Apple site I read:

I've just tried restoring from a backup I created last week but my password is still enabled and I'm still unable to remember what I changed it to.
I'm not sure if I misunderstood the bolded section but I was under the impression that restoring it from iOS 4 or later would remove/reset my current password and allow me to set a new one. That hasn't been the case.
I'm not really sure where to go from here, so any and all help is appreciated.

What password are you talking about, the one created with the workgroup manager? That will be difficult since 2010 doesn't have the workgroup manager anymore. You can still use the database in the 2010 environment but you can't make any changes to the original
database without the password.

They should have made it so that if you do wish to see the passwords that you have to enter a password ( master password ) . I like to leave my computer open so and password free so the girlfriend can snoop around . You can't remove your password, it's used to confirm and perform necessary root level installs and Software Updates that your a human and not malware.
But you may need to head to System Preferences > Security and uncheck Disable Automatic Log in.
I really don't advise you do this, a password protects your machine from others doing things to your machine while your not around.
You can log out and leave it, then come back without booting up. Also if some kid steals it, it can keep them out of your account and accessing your files.

     mv local.nidb local.old
     rm ../.AppleSetupDone

The second-to-last command above will cause OS X to think that the operating system is newly installed, and when the new owner starts up the computer it will send him/her to the startup wizard where he/she can start a new user without reinstalling.

The computer will now prompt you to change the password for "lmadmin" (or whatever the short name was). Go ahead and enter a new password.

Remove firmware password by removing RAM which models are not effected?

One could reset in the past by removing the RAM etc. I heard this changed at some point.
From what model MBP is this no longer possible? Or is this still the case?
I have a MBPi5 and a MBPi7.
