Removing a PD Profile from a user

Sometimes when a user changes jobs, we need to remove his PD profile.
On a CUP request, there is a PD Profile tab. However, this does not automatically bring up the person's PD Profile and even if you know what it is, this tab will only allow you to add a PD Profile.
Does anyone know a way to remove a PD Profile through CUP like you can a role? Is this even possible to do in CUP?
We are currently on GRC 5.3 SP11 in our test system.

With current market release of CUP it is not possibe to remove a PD Profile form the user in case of direct as well as in case In-direct provisioning.

Receiving an error when trying to remove P00 Security role from the user

Hi All,
I am receiving an error when trying to remove P00 Security role from the user.
After logging on to GRC CUP, clicking on u201CCreate requestu201D, and filling out required information,
I click on Select Roles/Groups
On the next screen,
I click on Existing Roles/Groups
ERROR MESSAGE appears X Action failed and no roles appear in the box to select for removal.

My be your selection is incorrect
Try this
in Applicaiton Area -- Select ALL
Functional Area -
Select ALL
Company -
Select ALL
Role/Profile/Group Names --- Give p00* and execute the report
if you give only p00 it wont give any result

Hide Site's profile from other users

Hello Everyone,
First, I know this is an odd question for a social feature in SP. However I need to ask.
Is there a way to hid a Site profile from other users in SP 2013? Just like I can hide someone from the GAL in Outlook I want to be able to hide someone's Site profile. For example, I have a user that created a Site profile but
does not want anyone in the organization to see his profile.

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to hide a user’s user profile property from other users in SharePoint 2013.
For achieving your demand, you can modify the “ShowHide” Boolean field of the user profile using PowerShell script as below:
$context =Get-SPServiceContext -Site http://mysite
$upm =New-Object Microsoft.Office.Server.UserProfiles.UserProfileManager($context)
$up =$upm.GetUserProfile("Domain\UserName")
$up["ShowHide"].Value
This returns True if its checked and False for uninitialized and unchecked.
Update the value in PowerShell with:
$up["ShowHide"].Value= $true
$up.Commit()

Hi Balaji,
As far as i know theres no tools on SAP to remove the profiles after certain date... when working with roles you can set a "valid to" field to make the role expire but with profiles this is not available.
What you can do is create a role as copy of the SAP_ALL profile and then set a validity so it expires when needed.

EM does not take any licenses, but the way you want to do this (assuming all associations are correct and dependencies would prevent you from doing it anyway):
delete UDP
delete CSF device
delete RDP
delete desk phone

How can I transfer Firefox profile from One user to another on my pc (win XP)

At work I'm using Firefox as my default browser.
In my company the IT administrator installed new system s/w on companys main server and changed the user names.
So now firefox lost all the information (profile) I already had on my pc.
Now in "C:\Documents and Settings\" folder I have 2 users.
One with the old user name and one with the new user name
Also I can not any longer login in my pc with the old user name because the administrator has changed also the domain name.
How can I transfer the profile I had (with lot's of usefull bookmarks etc) from the old user-name to the new user-name?

Can't remove wifi-menu profile from systemctl

Fairly new to Arch. Having some trouble with WPA2 configuration. I have this line showing in red in my systemctl list-units output:
netctl@wlp3s0\x2dHOME\x20Network.service loaded failed failed Automatically generated profile by wifi-menu
"HOME Network" is the name of the wireless network I'm trying to access. I can't get rid of this line in systemctl and I think it's blocking my attempts to fix the problem. I've tried stop and disable commands and it won't go away. Any help is greatly appreciated.

As you said you need this only for some user , you have to create a new framework page by copying the default one , then create new portal desktop and the new display rules as per your requirement.

Remove all budget entry from non-sysadmin users

Hi,
is there any non-customisation way of removing all budget entry from standard users (non-sysadmin).
I know it is simple enough to remove menus from standard menus, but is there anyway of preventing budgets being created via ADI also?
We have moved to an external budgeting system and I need to ensure that the only budget entries loaded into E-Business are from this one source.

In SQL 2005+, a new right was added to allow users to run their own jobs. However, you still need to be a sysadmin to run jobs which are not owned by you.
Tom this is not correct . A member of SQLAgentOperator role can execute local jobs even though it is not a owner of the job but this user can only create modify and delete jobs owned by him not by others.

Remove com.apple.sidebarlists.plist from 450 user accounts

I have moved my Users data to a new drive and all of the users are able to login and authenticate, however, the users get an error message on attempting to access their items from the sidebar. The solution I have found is to remove the com.apple.sidebarlists.plist and the sidebar and home directory then works fine. What I need is the UNIX command to remove the .plist file from 450 user accounts. Thanks -Eric

Funny you ask this - because I just went through the same thing with 500 user accounts. But Roger's looks a little more elegant than mine...
Here is my script - this one is for all users in one folder:
dir=/Volumes/diskname/restofpath
filename=com.apple.sidebarlists.plist

echo Removing sidebar for $user

This one is for users in subfolders (or group folders):

One caveat - it didn't seem to work when the users were currently logged in.

How to create an default profile for every user on one machine? Deployment of configurations?

On firefox 3.5.X i can copy an configured profile from an user-folder to the programm folder of firefox. \mozilla firefox\defaults\profiles.
After an new user log in to the machine the default profile will get the actual profile of the new user. With all bookmarks, configurations and so on.
But this doesn't work with the firefox 3.6.10? What changed? What will be the way i can get an default configuration for every user on one machine? I want to deploy the firefox with an default configuration in our enterprise? Why does the behaviour change?

No - there are no missing data, because nothing will be copied. The profile - folder does not work.
There are the standard first start behavior.

Moving iTunes libraries from one user account to another on same PC

My PC has 3 active User Accounts (wife, son, and me). My son uses itunes under my User Account and that's where his music library is stored (the iTunes account is his, but he accesses it from my User Account).
I want to remove the iTunes Library from my User Account and place it in his User Account so that he no longer has to use iTunes from my User Account. Remember, this is one machine with 3 separate User Accounts. I don't want to move these files to another computer, I'm just trying to get rid of them and put them in his account.
Can this be done and, if so, how? MANY THANKS. . .

Create a playlist in your iTunes library with his songs.
Select this playlist and select all the songs then drag them from the iTunes window to a Shared directory.
Then in iTunes, select all the songs in this playlist, select them again and *Shift Delete* to remove them from your library and your directory.
Open his login and add the songs from the Shared directory to his iTunes.
