Removing a pirate copy of LR5 and installing CC, Win 7

My bad, I was duped and installed a pirated copy of lightroom.  I have now purchased CC and want to remove the illegal copy of LR5 and install the legit copy of Lightroom.  Deleting  LR5 hasn't helped as it remembers the old s/n.  So far it doesn't want to remove the s/n of the illegal copy and stops me using plugins.  Any suggestions except reload my complete system

Lightroom is a different beast. Don't think Cleaner works on it.
Just delete the registration file in your system. You can find information about it, here: http://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/perform-silent-installation-lightroom.html
Look for Lightroom 5.0 Registration.lrreg and delete it.
It is in a hidden folder, so be sure to follow this document, first: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/show-hidden-files#show-hidden-files=windows-7

  • Remove Adobe Cloud from my desktop and install on a new computer

What do I need to do to remove Adobe Cloud from my desktop and install on a new computer?

    Hi G2video,
I would like to inform that you can install and activate Creative Cloud desktop applications on two computers, regardless of operating system, for the individual associated with the Creative Cloud membership.
If you've already installed Creative Cloud on 2 machines then you need to deactive it from one of the machine.
To deactivate, you can click on the product and then go to Help> Deactivate.
To uninstall the apps follow the link mentioned below:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/install-apps.html
Let us know if it helps,
    Thanks!

  • What is the best way to remove elements 10 from one pc and install it on another?

What steps need to be taken to remove Adobe Elements 10 from one pc and install it on another?

Use back up and restore from the Organizer menu. You are permitted two activations so no real need to deactivate the old copy unless you have installed it previously on another machine.
See these instructions for PSE6 and above.

  • How do I remove Vista from Satellite U400 PSU44E and install Win XP

Because much of my specialist software is designed to work with XP pro I need to remove Vista Home Premium from my U400 and install XP Pro. As others have found with other Toshiba models simply placing XP disk in the DVD drive results in 'the dreaded blue screen' with error code 0X0000007B (0XF78D2524, etc etc) and comments about hard drive properly configured / check for viruses/run Chdsk/F to check for corruption.
Changing HDD BIOS from AHCI to compatability mode allows XP disk to load and run as far as 'Press enter to load XP' but pressing 'Enter' does nothing; pressing other keys has no effect either and the only way out I have found is to press and hold down the On/Off button. Also re changing from 'AHCI' to 'Compatability ' there are many comments on other Internet fora suggesting that using Compatability mode makes disk access much slower than the AHCI mode. However despite searching the Web using Tosh HDD Model Referencee No (MK3252GSX) I cannot find a XP ATA driver to nLite into XP before trying again.
Can anyone tell me a procedure they have used to strip off Vista and replace it with XP Pro on te U400 PSU44E please?

A friend of me has a Satellite U400 too. He installed Windows XP in AHCI mode and he doesnt have any problems.
As Juan28 posted you can integrate the drivers by using nLite. This tool is freeware and pretty easy to use. You need only the original Microsoft installation disk and the SATA drivers that you can download on the Toshiba website:
    http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com => Support & Downloads => Download Drivers
If you dont want nLite you need an external FDD. After booting from CD you must press F6 to load the drivers from the FDD.
I prefer nLite because so I dont need an external FDD.
Furthermore I have read in the forum that the AHCI mode is a little bit faster as the compatible mode but in compatible mode you dont need any additional drivers for SATA.

  • How to remove the cloud copy of bookmarks and start over

I inadvertently synced bookmarks from a computer that I had wanted to keep separate. How do I either remove the unwanted material from the syncing copy in the cloud or just remove that cloud copy and start over?
    Thank you

If this is something that has occurred recently it should be easy to sort out just unlink the device and revert to the previous version of bookmarks by using the restore option in the bookmarks library. With luck all you will loose is the last set of bookmarks added.
*[[How do I set up Firefox Sync?#w_remove-a-device-from-firefox-sync_2]]'''_remove-a-device-from-firefox-sync_2'''
    * See [[Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer]]
I always try to remind people using sync
    * Sync only merges bookmarks now, it will not permit unidirectional syncing. For instance you cannot sync from a phone and just add those bookmarks to a computer, Sync will fill the phone with the desktop's bookmarks.
*It is wise to backup bookmarks manually if bookmarks are being synced.
My recommendation of caution and backing up of bookmarks is not aimed at those who inadvertently add a device. It is aimed at those who become over reliant on Sync.
Occasionally; especially on slow connections or if there are many bookmarks changes; Sync throws a wobbly and corrupts or duplicates bookmarks. Without manual backups, these situations become almost impossible to sort out, by the time they are reported.

  • Removing OS 10 Tiger in Spanish and installing OS 10 tiger in English

I am not aware that it is possible to buy an english language version imac in sunny Spain.
I am living in Spain (but am returning to my native english speaking New Zealand)at the end of this year, and want to "come over" to the other side and buy an apple imac and move on from my PC.
So want to know if it is possible (and if so how), to un-install the spanish language version of Tiger that will come with a spainish bought imac, and install an english language version of the same OS(which I could buy separately) - also are there any other issues.
Any better ideas anyone has as to change the language- short of getting an Easy-jet flight to London and buying it there would be naturally welcome.
    cheers

Hi BazMan and welcome to Apple Discussions.
In addition to Mike's advice, when you buy a new Mac and first turn it on, one of the first things you get asked is which language you want. Changing from Spanish to English won't be an issue.
Enjoy your Mac when you get it.

  • Remove/replace SL 10.6.2 and install 10.5.x

I have noticed many slowdowns since I went to Snow Leopard! Is there a simple way (for a 75 year old) to de-install/replace SL? BTW, Firefox takes at least 35 seconds to boot and to change windows, Entourage takes 10-20 seconds longer to open and close, etc.
I have reset the PRAM, repaired permissions from the install disk, etc. w/ no improvement.
I have a external HD w/ 10.5.7 and these problems do not exist when I start up w/ it.
    Thanks, Jack

Doing an Archive and Install is a major last resort. Don't do it. You are very likely to end up with an untenable system.
There is no completely easy way. Below is the best way. Note that you may end up with some issues carried forward from Snow, but we can work on those latter, if any.
You will need your original Leo install DVD to return to Leo. Before doing so, I would make a bootable clone of my Snow boot volume on an external drive for purposes of backup, migration, and fail-safe--even if you have a TM backup. Your only probably trouble-free way of returning to Leo is erase and install. In summarized form, here is how I would proceed in making my clone and erasing and installing.
Make clone using Disk Utility (DU):
    1. Start up from your Leopard install DVD by holding down C when starting up.
    2. Choose your language and use the menus at the top of the next screen to start DU.
    3. Start DU;
    4. Drag your internal volume to the source box;
    5. Drag your external partition (or volume) to the destination box;
    6. Choose Erase Destination (if you are forced to do so to restore); and
    7. Click restore.
It will take an hour, more or less. Test your clone afterward to make sure you can boot from it.
Erase and install using Disk Utility (DU):
    1. Start up from your Leopard install DVD by holding down C when starting up.
    2. Choose your language and use the menus at the top of the next screen to start DU. Use DU to produce a clean install by erasing your drive Mac extended (journaled). Quit DU, and continue your installation.
    3. At the end of your installation use Setup Assistant (which will start automatically), to migrate your users, settings, data, and apps from your clone to your new installation.
    4. Repair permissions when you have completed all installations.

  • Removing Adobe Acrobat reader 5.0, and installing newer 7.0.9 version

My IMAC with Panther 10.3.9 has Acrobat reader 5.0. This appears in Finder>Applications>Adobe Acrobat reader 5.0 folder. I find that the lastest version of the reader for my system is 7.0.9, per Adobe's website in the reader download section. I downloaded version 7.0.9, which appeared to have occurred without problems. When I went back to Applications>Adobe Acrobat reader 5.0 folder, the folder still indicated 5.0, not 7.0.9. Not convinced 7.0.9 was actually implemented, I moved the Adobe Acrobat 5.0 folder from Applications to Trash. And yes I emptied the trash. I then downloaded 7.0.9 from Adobe's website again. The download again appeared to have occurred correctly. There is no sign of Adobe Acrobat reader 7.0.9 in Applications, nor is the 5.0 folder there since I put it in trash. Why did I want to upgrade the reader version in the first place? Some PDF files that I tried to download wouldn't. This is the first time that I have encountered PDF files that would not download in readable format. The PDF help section of the website indicated I needed the lastest version of Acrobat reader to successfully download the PDF files. Since I did have an older version, the version upgrade was attempted. Where do I go from here?
    IMAC G4   Mac OS X (10.3.9)
    IMAC G4

    Hello AC,
You were very close to being completely correct. The downloadreader.pkg opened by itself, but what I did not do after that was double click an icon that said Acrobat reader installer. Once I did double click that icon, additional installation activities occurred, and sure enough, Adobe Acrobat reader 7.0.9 now appears in Applications. Thanks.

really , how can i do this ?
becasue when i copy a file in bridge and then in the win explorer the Paste option is grayed.

You can't copy what is essentially a preview in Bridge to the Windows clipboard.
Right-click > Reveal in Explorer and do it from there.

  • Upgrade to LR5 and migrate to iMac ?

I have Lightroom3 on my windows computer. I'd like to upgrade to LR5 and to migrate all my catalogs to iMac.
how should I do this ?
Can I upgrade first and then copy everything to iMac?
Or do I do this the other way around ?
Or do I have to buy a new version of LR5 and install it immediately on my iMac ?

You can do either the first or the second, you don't need to do the third.
If you do the second, you don't need to install LR3 on the iMac, you can just purchase and install the LR5 upgrade on the iMac (but retain your LR3 serial number as you'll need it when starting the LR5 upgrade for the first time).

  • Erase and Install Interrupted

I erased the disk, then tried to go back into disk utility to name the HD. When I did that it gave me the message that SL could not be installed because there was no copy of Leopard installed. I am now trying to start from my copy of Leopard and install that and it's just working and working, but not starting up. I held down the option key and chose the Leopard installation disk as the startup disk. Is this going to work or have I totally screwed up my friend's MBP?

I called Apple because the MBP was just not booting. Finally we put SL disk back in, started up and it let me install, no messages, no problems...so far anyway. I have 2 copies of SL, one is the $9.99 version, the other is the $24.99 version. Perhaps the first one I had in was the 9.99 one; not sure if there is any difference. Or perhaps trying to get back into Utilities from the installer window just simply generated that message about not being able to install without Leopard installed. Not sure. Just happy that I, hopefully, will get this done for my friend's
    parents without any more freakouts.

  • Remove windows Installation from Old WD hard drive and Install Fresh Copy on the New One.

Hi Community! I just bought a new WD Blue 1 TB hard drive, my old hard drive is WD Blue caviar 500 GB, running on Windows 7 ultimate 32 bit.
There are two things I wish to do: 1. Firstly, if it's possible, I would like to copy some videos, images, music etc. from my OLD Drive to the new one.
Please note that, I don't have an external disk to do it, I know that would've been less complicated, but that's not an option at this point. 2. Secondly, once that is done, if possible, I want to remove windows 7 installation from my old hard drive, re-partition it to make it just the storage drive, and finally install
fresh copy of windows 7- 64 bit to the new Hard drive.
Please note that, my old Hard drive is installed on windows 7- 32 bit and now I want to install a fresh copy of Windows 7-64bit instead of 32bit, because I am upgrading my
    configuration with better ones.
I am adding 4 GB corsair vengeance ram to my 2 GB corsair ram, so that is 6 GB in total.
I am adding 1 TB hard disk to my 500 GB Hard disk, so that is 1500 GB.
Both my processor and mother board supports 64 bit.
Intel® Pentium® Processor G2020 (3M Cache, 2.90 GHz) And this Mother board - "Biostar H61MGV3"I know that you could clone the partition and migrate the installation from one hard drive to another using the Acronis True Image WD Edition Software, but I don't want that.
In simple words, say I have a dos computer, I installed my 1TB WD hard drive, installed a fresh copy of windows 7-64bit. So my computer is up and running. Now, I have another hard
drive which I wish to use, that is 500GB WD, but it has Windows 7-32 bit installed in it.
So what I want to do is, make this old hard drive a complete 500 gb storage device and remove the windows installation from it, without loosing music, videos, etc. and then lastly
copying the music and other media to the new hard drive, and formatting it completely.
I am perhaps making this very complicated, I know you would have better easier solution for this.
I am frustrated, your help would be appreciated, thanks a lot. Sincerely, Abe

Since you don't want to clone the drive (I agree with you), you can just swap drives and install Windows on the new drive. Windows won't complain that you are installing on a different drive because it only cares if you change more than one piece of hardware at a time. The problem will arise when you copy the files from the old drive because you cannot just connect it via SATA. That would confuse Windows, as both installations were run on that hardware. You need to mount it in an external dock via USB 2.0/3.0 which will isolate the details of the OS. After you copy all necessary files, you can use WDC Lifeguard to write zeros to the entire disk and then create a new partition. After that you can mount it via SATA because it will be a new drive. Do NOT be in a hurry to wipe the drive however, as you don't want to forget something.
