Removing a Podcast Feed

I have tried to get Apple Podcast support to help and they have referred me here. I need to remove a podcast feed.
When I click on the podcast it says that it isn't available in the US store and I can't go any further. I explained this to Apple Support and they referred me to this:
Log into iTS.
Find and select your podcast.
Click on Report a Concern under the Links heading on the far left.
Select "Remove a Podcast" from the Choose a Reason menu.
Explain why you want the podcast removed.
This doesn't work as I can't get past Step 2.
I explained all of this to Apple Support and they referred me here. What can I do now to remove this podcast?

Was your podcast originally accepted into the iTunes Store? If so you should have received an email giving you the URL of your Store page.
If you have this URL does it work? (It's not unknown for the Search to be slow to catch up). If this also produces the 'not available' error then your podcast isn't in the Store and so doesn't need to be removed.
If the URL does work you can proceed as they indicate.
You can also add this tag to the feed in the top section, between the 'channel' tag and the first 'item' tag:
<itunes:block>yes</itunes:block>
This will remove the podcast from the Store if it is there. After a day or two you can then just delete the feed so that it can't be subscribed to anyway.

  • Can I remove podcast feeds on iPhone?

Hello. I've amassed quite a few podcast feeds on my iPhone 4 (iOS 5.0.1) and wanted to remove them to free up memory on the phone. (I don't syncy through iTunes on my mac, I download them direct to the phone.) I usually just swipe and delete and removed them all last night in this way. But now all podcasts and feeds appear ghosted and can't be played or swiped. The funny thing is, the memory seems to have been freed up, so although they appear ghosted on the phone, are not actually there. I just want to remove the whole list and start again. I've tried the Settings > Usage > Music > Edit route and podcasts ahev doisappeared too. Any ideas, anyone?

Sync iPhone to iTunes then delete them off iTunes then re-sync iphone via iTunes.

  • Removing podcast feed from the directory

    Hello,
I have read up on how to remove a feed from the directory, but when I go to the store the option "is mine and I want it removed from the Music Store" is not present. Why would this be? Is there another way to remove a feed.
Also I want to remove this feed and replace it with one that has a similar title at a different URL. I want to change it from theantenna to The Antenna.
    Will this be a problem?
    best,
    a

Correct. There is no option for "is mine and I want it removed"...There is an option for "remove podcast" and a text box to explain. However, it's still up to the iTunes staff to remove the podcast and they seem to be quite slow in doing so.
Also supposedly if the feed no longer exists, they should remove the podcast from the directory.
Also, as an alternative, you might consider using the <itunes:new-feed-url> tag in you old feed's XML file at the old location to change the URL of your existing podcast to the new one. Change the <title> in the XML to change the title of your podcast, iTunes will pick up the change the next time it updates.

  • Podcast feed not working in iTunes

    Hi there,
I am trying to get a podcast feed for a client set up to work in iTunes. About the setup:
This is a self-hosted wordpress site, using the feedburner/SmartCast to create iTunes-friendly feeds. The site does use HTTPS as parts of it handle credit card processing.
Here is the feed XML (Chrome): view-source:http://feeds.feedburner.com/UnderTenFitness
Here is the feed link: http://feeds.feedburner.com/UnderTenFitness
The feed validates at http://castfeedvalidator.com/ and http://validator.w3.org/. Other podcast services pick it up just fine. Just iTunes. I've tried testing it by manually subscribing to it in iTunes, and the episodes/meta load fine, but the audio files neither play nor download. I also can't seem to find any kind of error message to describe what the hold up seems to be - just the ! next to the episode. I can briefly see a window that says "Connecting" but it dies right away.
Any insight into what's going wrong here would be much appreciated. I've added MIME types to the server for MP3 files, about to change the main icon from PNG to JPEG on some random recommendation that sometimes iTunes doesn't like PNG files.
    I've also tried:
taking the media link outside the audio player shortcode and just putting it in as href
using both http:// and https:// for the media link
I'm sure I've missed something basic here - but my experience with podcasting prior to this project was "I like to listen to them." So any suggestions appreciated.
    Regards,
    Hannah

The problem lies with the media files rather than the feed. The URL given for your top media file is
    http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/UnderTenFitness/~5/cn0Ui9M2FyI/2015-01-27-Psorias is-Natural-Remedies.mp3
    This redirects to
    https://www.undertenfitness.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/2015-01-27-Psoriasis- Natural-Remedies.mp3
The first URL works when you enter it in a browser, but on subscribing iTunes refuses to play it. These redirects using Feedproxy can cause problems, though they don't always, and frankly I would advise avoiding its use and providing a direct URL to the media file. Furthermore the URL for the actual file begins with https (secure connection) and this is also asking for trouble. Sometimes it works, but it's better avoided. Just removing the 's' so that it's http works with some servers but it appears not to hear. So you need to look into the matter of hosting your media files.

  • How do I get more than 3 episodes to display in my podcast feed?

    Hi there!
I'm having trouble displaying more than 3 episodes in my iTunes podcast feed. It seems like every time I add a new one, the 4th one drops off. How can I fix this?
    Podcast: Go Fire Yourself
    Feedburner feed: http://feeds.feedburner.com/gofireyourself
    Wordpress feed: http://www.gofireyourself.com/feed/
    Thanks so much in advance!!
    Laurel

In common with many podcast creation facilities, WordPress limits the number of episodes in the feed, removing older ones to an archive page and off the feed once the limit is reached. In your case it is limiting it to ten - there are ten episodes in the feed. However only four of them have playable media. iTunes does not show episodes which have no playable media, and so is showing only the four episodes when subscribing.
This is what happens when you mix podcast and weblog episodes - ones with and without playable media. There is presumably a setting in WordPress where you can increase the number of episodes shown, but of course you will still find fewer episodes in iTunes because of this.

  • Help! I had told iTunes to remove an old feed- but I need to put it back!

I was given wrong information that my radio show was no longer going to be broadcast from the station I was on. I had written to iTunes and asked them to remove the link: http://toginet.com/rss/itunes/thislittleparentstayedhome
Only to discover a few weeks later, I was misinformed. This was an error and I never should have removed the link because I AM still broadcasting through the same station. Was told that same rss feed should work and be back up on iTunes without any issues...
Except I was the stupid one who had asked iTunes to remove the rss feed. I need to reverse this, but can't seem to find the way to connect to the person who can do this for me. I imagine the reason it is not working when I re-submit that rss link is because iTunes was told it was to be removed. The rss link DOES WORK and it is NOT BROKEN, because I have no problem submitting it to other podfeeds. So this is definitely an iTunes issue.
I have been going back and forth with customer service both on email (case number 120052781 with Caileigh) and on the phone (case numbers 179148557 with Chester and Kyle and case number 179153644 with Alex). The email responses never give me an answer that relates directly to my inquiry. I keep getting a blanket response telling me how to submit a new podcast. I've spent days on the phone with technical support, been transfered up and up and up- all the way to the head supervisors, and no one seems to be able to tell me what I can do.
The last guy told me flat out that there is nothing that can be done and no one he can transfer me to, and I just need to realize that my podcast may never get back up again on iTunes. Is this really true????

Your podcast is in the iTunes Store:
    http://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/this-little-parent-stayed/id357476643
You also have another podcast with the same title at
    http://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/this-little-parent-stayed/id392573029
    using a feed at http://thislittleparent.podbean.com/feed

  • How do I remove a podcast from my iTunes 11 library?

I have provided a screen capture of the problem that I am having. I would like to remove a podcast from my library (the one shown above) but despite unsubscribing and deleting all of the downloaded episodes the feed remaines there and I cannot figure out how to get rid of it.
(I am using the latest version of iTunes.)

I was having this problem as well. In the most recent update, you should see a third option next to "Unplayed" and "Podcasts" called "List." Click this option, right click the podcast you wish to delete, then click "Delete."
    Hope this helps!

  • Need to move podcast feed from MobileMe hosting to DreamHost

I apologize if this has been covered, I could not find anything on the forum however to help. I currently host a podcast through MobileMe. I've created the podcast site through GarageBand/iWeb. I want to continue using the iWeb site, but host it on DreamHost (for reasons of disk space, etc). I have purchased a new domain name (talesfromthemousehouse.com) from DreamHost and wish to "migrate" the iWeb site to this new domain. Plus, I want to move the podcast feed along with it, so that all my old episodes etc goes to the new host, and the only thing my listeners will notice is that the site has a new address (www.talesfromthemousehouse.com). Now...I've yet to find anyone or anything that can properly help me, including Apple support. What I thought should be an easy task has turned out to be quite a nightmare. My podcast feed is: http://web.me.com/alkessel/Site_3/Podcast/rss.xml
Can anyone help? I know that (from the Apple podcast documentation), I need to insert some code <itunes:new-feed> or something, but WHERE? Nothing tells me HOW to access the stuff to edit in iWeb/MobileMe. I would love to get this done as soon as possible, any and all help is appreciated. Thanks! Al

I'm working with fairly minimal information here: as I understand it your original feed was
    http://web.me.com/alkessel/Site_3/Podcast/rss.xml
This feed does not contain the 'itunes:new-feed-url' tag. Did you put a tag in it and then remove it?
iTunes shows your podcast in the Store at
    http://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/tales-from-the-mouse-house/id371928528
However it's looking for a feed at http://talescast.com/ so presumably this is the URL you entered in the redirect tag?
However, it's not a feed - it's the Personal Domain referral to your web page at
    http://talescast.com/Site_4/Home.html
As this is a web page and not a feed, iTunes can't read it. You have now painted yourself into a corner: as you need to enter the redirect tag in a feed to get iTunes to redirect, and iTunes can't read a feed at the UTRL you gave it, you can't redirect it.
You now have only two options. The first is to abandon the old feed altogether. You should get the old podcast removed from the Store - instructions here - and submit your new feed as an entirely new podcast. You will probably need to make a small change in the title, as a bug in the Store software may tell you that the podcast has already been submitted: and of course you will lose any subscribers or comments.
The other option is somewhat uncertain. iTunes Support is notoriously unhelpful, often sending back form answers which often don't deal with the actual problem, or referring the questioner to the Discussions Forum (which may have sent the questioner there in the first place): however it has been known for someone to persuade Support to shift their podcast to a new URL, so it's worth trying. It's probably just a matter of luck who you get. To contact iTunes Support, go to http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/ - click on 'Other iTunes Store Features' in the list and then on 'Podcasts'.

  • I want to update my podcast feed url

    Hello to everybody.
I have submit last day to itunes my podcast url from podomatic.com
I want to ask how I can update my rss url in itunes, if I want to leave podomatic.com and go to another service?
And last.. can you suggest me some other cool service?
My reason whcih I want to leave podomatic.com is because in itunes podcast the "website" link goes to podomatic.com channel and not to my personal webpage
    Regards,
    Haris

Please see this page which explains in detail how you do this:
    http://www.wilmut.webspace.virginmedia.com/notes/podcast.html#move
You may very likely find you can't do this with Podomatic which will leave you with emailing supposrt as the only option. Don't remove your podomatic feed until you have the redirection safely up and running.

  • Podcast feed in iTunes Store hasn't updated since January!

    Hi,
Our podcast feed which we have been running for over a year now stopped updating in iTunes Store and is still showing the latest podcast as Jan 2013 even though we put out 3 new episodes a week. If you are subscribed it works but people keep reporting to us about the iTS being months behind and it is bothering my employer.
Our server was running slow and I have since fixed the problem and it made no difference.
I reported a problem with the feed in iTunes and it made no difference.
I relocated the feed to another server using a different system and url which is much faster using 301 redirect and placed all files on a high speed cdn but this has made no difference either... Also updated images too.
I reported the problem again to iTunes and nothing changed.
Help I need to get this sorted as I don't know what else to do!!!!! We can't start a new one as we have too many subscribers.
    iTS page: http://www.itunes.com/podcast?id=564972472
Old feed URL (301 redirect): http://nexuschurch.com.au/podcast-feed/feed.php
    New feed URL: http://www.nexuschurch.com.au/podcast.rss
    Thanks,
    Seth

Your Store page lists 68 episodes running from 12 Jan 1012 to 19 Jan 2013. Clicking on the 'Subscribe' button brings up the feed at
    http://www.nexuschurch.com.au/podcasts.rss
This feed has 15 episodes running from February 3 to 11 March this year. The old feed URL you give successfully redirects to the feed now in use in a browser, and evidently also when subscribing in iTunes; but it looks as if it is not working in the Store page. The correct method for redirecting a feed involves placing a special tag in the original feed and is outlined here:
    http://www.wilmut.webspace.virginmedia.com/notes/podcast.html#move
According to Apple's own documentation a 301 redirect should work in the Store, but it looks as if for some reason it isn't.
All I can suggest is that you place a copy of the feed at the old URL, adding the redirect link as described in my page, and remove the 301. This should move the Store to the present feed - it will probably take a couple of days or so to catch up.
If for some reason you are unable to set up the feed at the old URL you can try emailing them at podcasts 'at' apple.com and asking them to move the Store - give them the Store page URL and both feed URLs.

  • Removing a duplicate feed

I created a podcast using the wordpress.com platform. I have since moved it to a self-hosted blog using wordpress.org. I now have a duplicate feed and I want to remove the original one and prevent it from showing in the itunes store.
I have tried following the instructions that customer support gave me, but the podcast feed still shows in iTunes even though it is not a valid feed anymore. Is there a way to remove this duplicate feed so as not to cause confusion among my subscribers?
Both Podcasts have the same iTunes Store url
    http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=266958988
If you do a search by the following:
"Quoteactions" you will see that there are podcasts: QuoteActions Podcast.com (which is the one I want to keep) and QuoteActions Podcast (which doesn't have a valid feed and I want deleted).
I would appreciate any help I can get.
    Thanks

I don't think that your old, duplicate feed is really going to cause much confusion. Whatever support told you to do, I think it is working . . . if you click on the "QuoteActions Podcast," it says that the podcast "is not available in the US Store." That means that no one can subscribe to it, and that the iTunes staff are probably in the process of completely removing the listing.
So, I really wouldn't worry too much that the second one is showing up in searches at this point. No one can access it, and so no one can accidentally subscribe to it. By the way, the address for your new podcast listing is actually http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=267448487. The one that you had in your post is just the address of your old podcast.

  • How to remove a podcast not in the US Store.

I submitted a podcast of my fathers a number of weeks ago, but it never showed up in the directory. It says it is not availible in the US store. I believe it is to do with the use of copyrighted music. He is no longer using the copyrighted music and we would like to resubmit the podcast in a few weeks when he has a number of the newly formatted shows in the feed log. My question is who do I contact or how do I go about having a feed removed from the servers all together so I can eventually resubmit it, if there no page for the podcast exists for me to report such a concern?
    The podcast feed is http://feeds.feedburner.com/cgradio
    Thank you for your help.

  • How do i remove duplicate podcasts

how do i remove duplicate podcasts in itunes?

If you mean a duplicated series?
    Grouping podcasts
A podcast series will split up in this way when its feed is moved to a new URL. Merging the series requires editing all the older episodes so that they appear to have come from the current feed. Download and install Mp3Tag (not sure of a Mac equivalent offhand). Use it to explore the Extended tags of podcasts from the same series. PODCASTURL (formerly ITUNESPODCASTURL) is used to link different podcasts from the same subscription (as opposed to fields like Album & Album Artist etc.) and PODCASTID (formerly ITUNESPODCASTID) determines the order. Everything else seems to be optional. Backup your files, tweak a few a tags then highlight the changed files in turn in iTunes with the image pane set to Selected item. This is marginally quicker for small numbers of files than using select, Get Info, OK to get iTunes to refresh its knowledge of the tags. Erm, last I checked the method no longer works anyway. If iTunes still fails to notice the updated tags try my script UpdateTagInfo (Win).
As far as I'm aware the order is determined by the PODCASTID, but if you need/want to modify the Release Date then in MP3Tag/Extended Tags it corresponds to RELEASETIMEin the format yyyy-mm-ddThh:mm:ssZ, e.g. 2008-02-20T09:10:52Z
    If you mean duplicated episodes?
Create a smart playlist with the rule Podcast is true, display exact duplicates, and then apply my DeDuper script.

  • Please delete podcast feed

    Hi,
can you please delete the following podcast feed:
    http://users.adam.com.au/snerf/EBC.xml
i wish to update my podcasts and resubmit at a later date on a new host
    Regards,
    Mike.
    Message was edited by: snerf87

Be warned that if you re-submit at a later date with the same title, you will probably be told that the podcast has already been submitted (the automated process is not very intelligent). In this case you would need to change the title by a small amount (you could change it back later).
But you may not need to remove it: you could leave it where it is (provided you can maintain the hosting until the new feed is available and for a couple of weeks after the transfer) and transfer iTunes to the new feed using the process outlined here.

  • ITunes 8 and Accessing Podcast Feeds in the iTunes Store

When I upgraded to iTunes 8 on my new MacBook Pro, I had several podcasts to show the dreaded exclamation mark, with missing episodes. However, when I click on the arrow in the list in iTunes, I'm taken to the actual Website of the podcast instead of the listing in the iTunes store where I could select the episodes I am missing. How do I change this "preference" in iTunes 8 to get it to go to the iTunes Store instead of each individual podcast's Website?

Apple give you the instructions here:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/podcasts/specs.html#removing
It would be a good idea to take down the feed you don't want. It won't remove the Store page but it will prevent subscriptions and also give Apple more incentive to remove the podcast.
