Removing a site and disabling replications .

Hi,
I want to remove a branch site from from Active Directory Sites and Services in 2008 R2 (Main DC) is there a procedure to remove by or can it be done by selecting delete manually please let me know.

Yes you can remove a site simply by highlighting it and selecting delete. The above poster assumed you had a server in that site that you had to forcibly remove as it was not contactable.
Correct its not on the same site well if i do selecting delete whether i have to start by selecting from NTDS because it does includes SUBNET, INTER-SITE TRANSPORT and the BRANCH SITE configurations, technically is it correct by selecting the Branch-Site
and deleting altogether or is there is a procedure to do accordingly. please let me know.

DC removed from site ! But replication happening.

My environment consists of 10 sites and 20 DCs. Windows server 2008 R2 - single domain single forest.
I run MS replication tool every week to monitor the replication status of my forest\domain.
From last week, users from a site reported with authentication issue after resetting the passwords w.r.t AD integrated applications and system logon.
Upon, i was checking on the reported site and found Two domain controllers were missing from the site, also the DC showing blank in site column in the DC OU in AD.
Again, i tried running MS AD replication report and found no issue reported. Surprised!. And logged in to those missing DC and executed repadmin /showrepl, repadmin /replsummary and found the replication was success with other DCs without any issues.
Can DC be part of replication without being present in AD SITES? could someone clarify? How it is getting replication with other DC.
Then, execute DCdaig and found errors like below in the missing DCs from site.
REPLICATION LATENCY WARNING
ERROR: Expected notification link is missing.
Source SERVERB1
Replication of new changes along this path will be delayed.
This problem should self-correct on the next periodic sync.

Also, i am looking for how DC can get removed from AD sites apart from manual intervention.

Thanks for posting.
You DC should be showing in sites and services somewhere, and should be present in ADUC and ADSIedit.
Can you, from one of the DC's that are not showing do a DCDiag /a and post the results.

How to remove Login, sites, register icons in the iStore page

Hi,
Can some one guide me in finding how to remove the Sites and Register icon that comes on the top of the iStore pages along with the logo on the left corner.
Also i want to know how to change the jsp file of the Login icon that comes along with the Sites and Register icon in the top part of the iStore page.
Please guide me in figuring out the solution for this requirement.

Hi,
No need to customize the ibeCCtdMenu.jsp to remove the icons, It is enough to change the Profile option "FND Branding size" to the value "Medium" or "Small".
After changing the profile option value, bounce apache. The links will be dispalying now without icons. Try out this!!

After updating to Firefox 7.0.1, menu bar for Google,yahoo, Facebook (message,notification,profile,home) and others site are disabled. How can solve this problem?

after updating to Firefox 7.0.1, menu bar for Google(web ,image,video,map etc),yahoo, Facebook (message,notification,profile,home) and others site are disabled. even I cant log out from different sites cz the log out bar is completely disabled. I tried with Firefox 4;5 and 6, same problem exist . I tried by active all add ons for facebook, same problem exist. If I use internet explorer , I don't find such problem with it.

As I've mentioned above, I was informed that updating to 5.0.1 would '''require''' me to '''delete''' the current version and then install the new one. And doing so will involve losing all my bookmarks. I guess I should have been more specific and detailed there. By losing, I didn't mean losing them forever. I'm aware that they're secured in some place and deleting and installing the software doesn't harm its existence. What I meant that if I install the new version, I'd have to delete the old one. And after installing the new version, I'd have to transfer them (bookmarks) back from wherever they are. Get it? When it updated from 3.6.9 to 3.6.13, and from 3.6.13 to 3.6.18, I didn't need to follow that process. They were already present on their own.
BTW, I'm having no problems with 3.6.18 but after learning about the existence of version 5.0.1, I'm a bit too eager to lay my hands over it.

Can I disable or remove the toolbar and menus from Reader? If one of my customers opens a file then uses a toolbar or menu item, Reader crashes. Customer is using Solaris 11. This was not broken when using Solaris 10. Using v9.x.

Why does Firefox disable the Uninstall button on incompatible and disabled extensions (which should be removed)?

Please don't dodge the question. People have normal adds-ons and extentions that when become incomparable are greyed out and there is no way to uninstall it. Mine is Java at this time. Mine is an extension. I haven't had this enabled since 7 came out apparently I don't need it. So I would like to save space and take the darn thing off the computer. But I can't find a way. Can the phone site be disabled and have phones display the desktop site while designing phone site?

Currently, I have a live desktop design website which is being updated regularly. I tried to begin a phone site design, but was interrupted with a change to the desktop site (I'm adding new sponsors to an event on a regular basis). When I uploaded to the FTP, the phone site was also pushed through, making an unfinished page pop up on the browser of my phone. My phone site is going to be quite large in regards to page number and it's not practical to disable and enable each individual page.
Can I have the phone site entirely disabled and have phones display the desktop site while in the process of designing the phone app? I will still need to update the desktop site during this design period.

I seen many AD enviroments and know that when you have mutiple DCs you use Active Directory Sites and services to replicate using the NTDS Settings. If you have a Domain and sub domain do you need to do this as well or does it sync up automatically because
it's a sub domain? A see a couple of domains where the NTDS settings isn't being used to snyc with the child domain. Just wondering if that is normal or will it cause authentication errors?

Two way transitive trusts are configured automatically when you create a child domain or tree root domain. You don't have to worry about site/subnet or replication part at least from trust perspective. But make sure site's names are unique in each domain.

Found a site in "history" from 3/7/2014 and double clicked on it to insure it was the correct site I was searching for--now it "removed" that site from the 3/7/2014 history and its only listing is this morning; I need that listing of the original visit back in my history so I can prove I visited it on 3/7.....I can list the number of times it was visited, but I need the listing "back" with the date of when the site was visited ...any help would be appreciated

I aggree It's rather annoying that you can't remove these features when like me you never use them, however by far the most annoying part of this is that when you go into 'Customize Toolbar' you can actually add yet a second 'Show Top Sites' feature to the toolbar !! Even those people who actually want to use this feature don't require two of them. For crying-out-loud come on Apple, this has to be a joke right?!?

Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache.
* Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
* Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
* Press "Cmd + Shift + R" (MAC)
Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
* Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
* Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
