Removing a site from iweb

My computer recently crashed and I am trying to rebuild my iweb site. I recreated my blog and welcome page and published them and they published under me.com instead of mac.com (obviously because of the new mobile me). My problem is my old site is under mac.com and there is a page I want to take down but can't access since it was on my old hard drive. I thought making the new page and publishing it might override it but it is not. Any suggestions as to how to remove that mac.com site? I still see the pages on my idisk. Thanks in advance for your help.

There is a page I want to take down. I see the pages on idisk. I just deleted the page from idisk.
Glad to see you figured it out.
I also figured it out for someone one new year and it was a lot of fun

  • I'd like to edit my site from iWeb on two computers, is this possible?

I'd like to edit my site from iWeb on two computers, is this possible?
I started creating my site on a PB 15", but when I'm home I like the speed of my iMac and I'd like to continue the editing process on my iMac but I can't find the files that iWeb saves.
I'd ideally like to save my site on my 30gig iPod using it as a hard drive between both. I would love for this to happen but I can't find the files saved by iWeb. Is this even possible?
I've even tried linking my PB to my iMac via firewire as a hard drive. No Luck.
    Please Help . . .

I think iWeb only recognizes the 'domain.sites' file so while you can set up more than one site, they are in the same project.
Of course, the workround is to move the domain.sites file out of the default location, which them makes iWeb create a new one. You can then work on any number of projects, only moving the correct file into the default location for work on each one. Not elegant by any means, but until someone suggests a better way (or Apple produce a more flexible version of the software) it works fine that way.

  • Help I deleted my site from iweb

I was working on a new site and deleted my other site from iweb hoping I could find it again, is there any way to recover this site?

Not unless you have a backup of your Users folder.
If you publish to .mac, DON'T publish your new site until you have copied the folders in the Web>Sites>iWeb folder in your iDisk to another location. Publishing your new site will delete your previous site from your iDisk.
Once you have done this, you can move the folder for your first site to the Sites folder in your iDisk, and will be accessible through home page until you can rebuild the site. (If you can/want to do this, feel free to post back for more detailed instructions)

Found a site in "history" from 3/7/2014 and double clicked on it to insure it was the correct site I was searching for--now it "removed" that site from the 3/7/2014 history and its only listing is this morning; I need that listing of the original visit back in my history so I can prove I visited it on 3/7.....I can list the number of times it was visited, but I need the listing "back" with the date of when the site was visited ...any help would be appreciated

  • How do I remove a site from a domain?

I have two domains from GoDaddy.com that I forwarded to my .Mac site. How do I remove the site from one of the domains while keeping it on the other domain? And how, incidentally, can I use the second domain for another site.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
    Frank

Just log into the GoDaddy web forwarding section and cancel the forwarding for the site that you don't want linked.
If you want to link it to a new site, publish that site when it is ready and set up web forwarding to that particular site at GoDaddy. So you would forward to web.me.com/username/sitename.

  • Can't visit site from iWeb

I have a website hosted by iPage.  Previously I have had no problems using iWeb to publish to it.  This week I hit a bunch of glitches which iPage has finally sorted out and I have successfully published changes to my site.  However, now, when I try to visit the site directly from iWeb, it duplicates the name twice in the browser window and so the page is not found.  If I go through google I can get there and the changes are there, so that's cool.  iPage insists this is an iWeb issue and my settings are correct.  Why is iWeb pointing me to a page where the the site name shows up twice in the browser window?  This seems to me to be a simple settings issue somewhere.  I have emptied the cache on Safari.  any ideas?

Provide the URL of the website.
If the url is something like :
    www.domainame.com/sitename/sitename/pagename.html
it means that the first sitename is part of the pathname in the iWeb settings. Not wrong if you want that, but wrong if you don't  want it. iWeb publishes where you tell it to publish.
So go to the server to see what's really there. Then you know from firsthand experience, instead of what iPage tells you.

  • Removing bookmarked sites from the Start Screen

I use to be able to hold my thumb on a bookmarked site on my Start Screen and a menu would pop up giving me the option to remove it from the Start Screen. Since upgrading I can't do that. So how do I remove a bookmarked site from the Start Screen?

Which start screen (URL) are you referring to?
Is this the about:newtab page that shows the thumbnail of most visited websites?
See this article about the New Tab page (about:newtab):

  • How to manage two sites from iWeb

    Hi all
I've built two different sites with iWeb, my personal site which goes to my .mac server and publishes there, no problem. I now have built another site for my girlfiends family business, and theirs will go to a differente host and server.
The problem I have is that I have both sites now open, each with their own individual pages, etc (they both appear on the left column as headers), but I can't seem to isolate them for publishing purposes. In other words, I'd like to publish my site to .mac, and my girlfriends site to my hard drive for eventual upload to their server.
When I go to publish, whether I select .mac or my hard drive (publish to another folder) it selects both sites at the same time, I.e. I can't publich them individually.
The problem is that I end up with a copy of my personal webpage files on my hard drive, and a copy of their webpage files on my .mac!
A further problem I see is that this publishing process creates just one index.html file, for both pages. So how can I use this html file to point it to their domain??
    Appreciate the help, thanks
    J

    J:
To add another method to the mix here's how I manage multiple sites. Although they all go to my .Mac account this method can let me post any of them to any other server as I see fit.
One way to handle multiple sites is to use iWebSites. It lets me create multiple sites and multiple domain files. If you have multiple sites in one domain file here's the workflow I used to split them into individual site files with iWebSites.
This lets me edit several sites and only republish the one I want to where I want.

  • I removed a site from my passwords saver because it didn't show the ID. When I went back to the site it didn't ask if I wanted to save the password. How can I get it to save the password again?

I was hoping to save my site ID so I thought I'd go in and try it again, but now it won't save. Maybe I need to shut down the web and open it again. I'll try that.

The website may be using autocomplete=off to prevent Firefox from saving the name and password.
You can remove autocomplete=off with a bookmarklet to make Firefox save the name and password.

  • Removing Keynote presentation from iWeb

I created a keynote presentation for an organization to proof and published it using iWeb which worked great. Now I would like to remove it. • How to move sites from iWeb 1.x to iWeb 2.x

I just moved from an iMac G5 to the new Mid 07 Core 2 Duo aluminum.
I copied my user documents via network - as I did not have a firewire cable handly to do the full conversion.
However, iWeb 2 does not find my iWeb 1.x sites.
How to I port those over?
Where are the data files stored on the Mac (beisde the iDisk)?

You should find them under ~/Library/Application Support/iweb/
The default name is domain.sites. YOU SHOULD BACK THIS FILE UP. You can simply make a copy and rename it. When you open iWeb 2.0, it will upgrade your domain.sites to a domain.sites2 file, and your old file will be gone. A lot of us have been having major problems upgrading sites, so keep the old file around. Back it up and put it somewhere you won't click on it.
Apple just came up with an iWeb 2.0.1 upgrade which is supposed to fix some upgrade problems, but I am still having difficulties. In addition, the website I was working on in iWeb 2.0.0 is now missing lots of files when opened in iWeb 2.0.1
Also, in both versions of iWeb 2, the navigation bar cannot be viewed by visitors using Internet Explorer (see many other threads).
In short, I would hold off on upgrading if I were you, until further software updates.

  • Effect on OSD if remove primary site from SCCM heirarchy

Wanna ask, just a theory question, im currently planning to decommission and upgrade my current primary site server. The process will take roughly a few days. At the same time, I also have other site system server that also acts as an MP (has MP role). So,
for the time being I would not have an active primary site for a couple of days.
Question is, during that timeframe (when primary site not available), am I able to still do OSD? Was thinking the only issue of not having a primary site at that time, my user client machine will not be able to get the latest policy
cause any new policy will be push down from the primary site right...but the client will only be able to get the old TS advertisement correct... Question as below
Does the client machine still able to run the old advert advertised to it?
Does the client machine cache the TS advert and store it locally on their machine?
All the OSD content (boot image, OS image etc) is available in the DP, so it should be able to PXE boot  and execute the TS correct if the primary site is not available?
Read the net on PXE boot flow at
http://blogs.technet.com/b/pingpawan/archive/2014/01/12/deep-dive-pxe-boot-flow-for-sccm-2007-2012.aspx. Its says as below. What I don't understand is isn't the primary server is the only one that can access the DB? Don't quite get it when it says
WDS can also access the DB....?
WDS/PXE sever runs a stored procedure, LOOKUPDEVICE for the client machine against SCCM DB. If the machine is found in the DB or If there is an advert for Unknown collection, WDS signals client to proceed with the PXE
    boot.

Which roles are installed on the site server?
