Removing a trial plug-ins

I downloaded a couple of trial plug-ins for Aperture and didn't like them. Now I can't get the plug-in names off the Aperture list of plug-ins. I have removed the plug-ins from both the root library and my personal library, but the names still show up in the Aperture application when I go to use other plug-ins.

Did you try quitting and then re-launching? If they still show up, try deleting your preferences. ~Library>Prefences>com.apple.Aperture.plist. Move that file to the trash.

  • Extension Manager removing the whole Plug-ins folder along with the panel

When I click "Remove" from the Extension Manager interface, the following has occurred--
In CS6 - When I used the Extension Manager to "remove" by clicking the "remove" button,  it removes not just the panel I installed but has removed the folders "Plug-ins>Panels>my panel". The whole hierarchy!
In CS5 - it has left the Plug-ins folder but removed  "Panels>my panel"
In CS4 - the Extension Manager is working correctly for installing and removing without removing any shell folders.
Question #1 - What do I do about my missing plug-ins for these applications? This is disastrous!
Question #2 - Is there a way to fix the CS5 and CS6 Extension Manager to not delete the shell folders, when you are just trying to remove a custom panel????
    My system:
    Windows Vista Ultimate
    Service Pack 2
Processor Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q9650 @3.00GHz
    Memory (RAM) 8.00GB
    System-64-bit
    Hard Drives C: 1Terabyte - 301GB available
    Z: 1 Terabyte - 309GB available

Also here is more info that might be germane--
I am using Extend Script Toolkit CS6 3.8.0.12 ExtendSript 2.12 ScriptUI 6.1.8 to edit and generate 1 .mxi file for use in CS5 & CS6 and another .mxi file for use in CS4.
I open the Adobe Extension Manager for CS5 to create the .mxp files for CS5 & CS6
I double click on the .mxp file and it automatically opens Adobe Extension Manager CS6 and installs the panel into Photoshop CS6
I manually open Adobe Extension Manager CS5 it is sluggish to open and shows a progress bar. Then I do a File>Open to install the panel into Photoshop CS5.
In the testing of various iterations of mypanel, I have removed the previous version of mypanel, so there is nothing showing as enabled or installed in the EM. So, are you kind of saying that if I hadn't emptied out the panel but had left my own panels in there as just disabled, rather than "removed" that the rest of the whole Plug-ins folder would still be there. Leaving something in there would have been like saving an empty seat for a friend at the theater?
The Versions of Adobe Extension Manager that I am using are:
    CS6 version 6.0.2.40
    CS5 version 5.0.334
CS4 Version 2.1.112 (which appears to be working as it should!)

  • Safari will not open after installing Yosemite on my iMac. I loaded it on my MacBook without any issues. I've searched and tried some things that were posted such as safe mode and removing 3rd party plug-ins with no luck. When is there a fix?

is there an an Apple approved procedure to fix Safari from crashing? From posts that I've read, this was an issue in the Beta version, so I wonder why it was not fixed before it was released. I work all day and don't have a lot of time in the evening to troubleshoot something that should have been tested and approved before releasing. Apple, It just doesn't work.

  • How do I find third party plug-ins? (illustrator CS6)

    I have trouble opening Illustrator.
I tried to update my computer (to OS X Mavericks 10.9.5) but i didn't help and i couldn't update Illustrator because of an error.
I saw on this side, that removing third party plug-ins, could work... The only problem is, i don't know which ones are third party and which are not.
I found a list of third party plug-ins, on this side as well, but none of them was in any of the folders with Illustrator plug-in on my computer.
Does anybody know how theese third party plug-ins, or another way to solve my problem?

Okay thank you, I was just trying to avoid to reinstall. I bought my computer through my school and all the adobe programs was already installed, so and can find the "install-file" on my computer.
But thank you, I think I will contact my school then

  • Flash plug-in not listed in the Safari installed plug-ins page

    Dear all,
I'm running Mac OS 10.5.8 on a Intel Imac and I'm facing the same problem since the first time I wanted to upgrade the version 10 of the Flash plug-in.
I have different accounts and various internet browsers (Safari, FireFox, Opera, Chrome) only Safari, on my main account (admin), causes problems. Actually the plug-in (10.3) is properly installed in  /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/, so common to all accounts (the users' Internet Plug-Ins folders are empty) and it is visible from the System Preferences application.
    Internet Plug-Ins folder content:
    AdobePDFViewer.plugin
    CANONiMAGEGATEWAYDL.plugin
    CANONiMAGEGATEWAYLI.plugin
    DirectorShockwave.plugin
    Flash Player.plugin
    flashplayer.xpt
    iPhotoPhotocast.plugin
    JavaPluginCocoa.bundle
    npContributeMac.bundle
    nsIQTScriptablePlugin.xpt
    Quartz Composer.webplugin
    QuickTime Plugin.plugin
    QuickTime Plugin.webplugin
    VerifiedDownloadPlugin.plugin
But Safari doesn't lists the flash plug-in in the installed plug-ins page and returns a missing plug-in error message as I visit any website containing a flash movie. When I replace the current plug-in with version 10.0.r2 it works fine.
Before installing any upgrade I first run the uninstaller, restart the computer and then install the newest version. I tried many things to fixe this very annoying problem without success. I'm not going to list all of them but I mainly cleared Safari and Flash Player preferences, Safari Cache.db, removed all other plug-ins (to check for conflicts). I also used some tools as Apple Disk utily and OnyX to repair disk permissions and fix other possible problems.
I would be very grateful if you could help me!

    Hello Chris,
Any other suggestions? Because this story drives me crazy !
I don't know if it matters, but  Flash CS4 is installed on my Mac.
Event if it doesn't make sense I tried to clear any file related to the flash plug-in, Flash Player and Safari
    Safari:
    com.apple.Safari.plist
    Cache.db
    Flash:
    ~/Library/Caches/Adobe/Flash Player/
    ~/Library/Preferences/Macromedia/Flash Player/
    com.macromedia.Flash Player Debugger.app.plist
    Flash Player Debugger_00000000-0000-1000-8000-0016CB846CCB_CrashHistory.plist
    Flash Player_00000000-0000-1000-8000-0016CB846CCB_CrashHistory.plist
    com.adobe.flash-10.0.plist
    Flash 10 MRU
    flashplayer.xpt
I have uninstall Flash Player Debugger and the Flash Plugin
    removed all plug-ins from /Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Replaced all previous versions of Flash player by the latest version (10.3r183)
I ran all OnyX maintenance scripts and repaired disk permissions
After restarting the computer I installed the plug-in and replaced all previous plug-in version everywhere
    e.g. : /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Flash Player/Flash Player.plugin
Restarted again and then launched Safari. The plugin is well in /Library/Internet Plug-Ins folder, but not listed in installed plug-ins list
I repeated this "procedure" several time, from different accounts, I also removed the admin rights on the problematic account and perform the installation from a new admin account without success!
I can drop any plug-in in the Internet Plug-Ins folder and I only have to refresh the the Installed Plug-ins page in order that Safari takes it into account. All, but the flash plug-in!
I really do no understand why Safari can't "see" newer plug-ins than the 10.0 version.
I'm lost and ran out of ideas!

  • Re-installing iMovie plug-ins

When I switched from a PPC Mac to my Intel Mac, I had to update some third-party plug-ins for iMovie. I was having some problems with it and did something stupid. I removed the iMovie plug-ins in my library for transitions and titles and somehow lost them (yes I searched they are so gone). How can I get them back? I tried re-installing iLife 06, but got weird error messages. What can I do to restore iMovie to what it was before?

    Hello, floridakid,
    Welcome to the discussions.
You should have been able to recover your original iMovie titles and transitions with the reinstall of iLife.
You would not be able to recover the third party plug-ins, unless you had saved the original downloads of those.
What was the problem with the iLife reinstall? What 'weird error' messages were you getting? Did the applications reinstall or not?

  • WHY are Firefox users NOT "allowed" to "uninstall" "plug-ins" ????

Firefox simply has to make it possible for it's users to delete/remove/UNINSTALL UNWANTED PLUG-INS !!! WHY has this NEVER been a default option ???? I just don't understand.I found a page on how to "manually" delete plug-ins BUT...guess what ??? I ended up really screwing things up.Trying to manually delete the plug-ins that I wanted to do so with,I just randomly typed letters on my keyboard to rename the files and I did NOT write down what I has renamed these entries.
Well, the instructions for doing this were not written very well and the "uninstall" did NOT take !! I even went as far as to uninstall and reinstall the entire program (Firefox) (thinking that maybe a fresh install would give me just the default plug-ins/extensions that Firefox comes with when a person downloads Firefox for the first time) TO NO AVAIL !! PLEASE....is there ANY way that you can help me with this ???

Some plugins like Flash come as only a plugin.
    *C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash\
Other like the RealPlayer that you mentioned and Java come as applications that are installed as a program and add registry keys to make Firefox find the plugin.<br /><br />
Some try to install their plugin directly in a Firefox plugins folder that can reside in different locations (program folder, current profile folder, and its parent profile folder: Mozilla\plugins).<br />
The pluginreg.dat file referenced about will always have the full path of each plugin.<br />

  • (Speaking of) Waves audio production plug-ins; Getting a punchier final mix

I was looking to get a punchier sound from my final mixes and I was referred to Waves by both the Sam Ash Guy and the Guitar Center Guy for my making-it-sound-punchier needs. Does anyone have any experience with some other (3rd-party) sonic maximizers or compression plug-ins?
The reason why I bring this up is because I was casually listening to my iTunes collection and whenever one of my own tracks played via the shuffle mode, the sound was less punchier, had less presence than even simple acoustic-guitar music! I believe I'm doing a decent mixing job and manage to get my peak levels pretty high with some tasteful limiting, but, man, my tracks don't quite have that punch. What gives?

Not exactly sure what you mean by punchier, but here's a great way to get "punchier" drums in GB....and you don't have to spend any more money then you already have.
First, you'll need a few of things, all FREE!!:
Download the W1 Limiter. It's based on the Waves ultra-something-or-other-limiter. It's fantastic.
    http://yohng.com/w1limit.html
Download CamelCrusher. It's a nice distortion/compression plug in that gives it a nice analog "warmth" when used correctly.
    http://www.camelaudio.com/camelcrusher.php
And finally, download Channel. It acts as an analog channel strip would, introducing just a tiny hint of analog style distortion. May sound like a bad thing, but give it a try, it can work wonders!
    http://www.airwindows.com/f/Channel.dmg
Now that you have those 3 plugs, here's what I suggest:
First, get the drum track the way you want it to be rhythmically.
Then solo that track and put the CamelCrusher in one plug in slot and select either one of these presets, Tube Warmth, or Subtle Master. Of course feel free to tweak to taste and experiment with other presets.
Then I'd put on the Channel plug in and set the slider to taste.
Then on the Master track, I'd put the W1 Limiter and crush the drums a shade.
Then share your "drums only song" with iTunes and drag it back into GB. This will give you a huge sounding "squashed" drum kit sound.
Now that you imported the audio file of the "squashed drums", you can remove all the plug ins from the drum channel and the master channel. What you'll want to do at this point is blend the normal drums with the "squashed drums" until it sounds huge. This is called the New York Compression trick.
The nice thing about this trick is that you don't have to use these plug ins I pointed you to. You can use the Apple AU plug ins, you can go buy other 3rd party plug ins, or you can go hunt for me free plug ins. Each one will have a different and unique sound. So you'll definitely want to experiment with those as well. I even like to put two compressors on the track and one compressor on the master sometimes. Really kills the dynamics, but when blended with the unaffected drums, it makes it VERY punchy.
    Hope that helps.

  • Remove plug-ins

How can I remove plug-ins? I've done trials with a couple of different HDR plug-ins and would like to remove the ones I didn't choose.  Even after deleting the HDR trial program from the list of apps the plug-in remains. Checked all the usual places for help but no luck.
    Thanks.

Never mind ... as soon as I posted the question "More Like This" led me to a similiar question in the iTunes forum and that gave me the clue to track down the answer (it's in the Library>Aperture>Plug-ins).

How to remove a text in browser: Some plug ins used by this page are out of date. It occur in every page when I surfing. I am aware that is a threat but when I tried to install an update of flash the userinit.dll file from windows registry had gone and I had to reset everything.

a error during the flash update might be itself an indication of malware active on the pc. the browser is your door to the web - therefore it's very important to keep it and all plugins up to date in order to keep your pc & the integrity of your personal data safe.

  • When attempting to remove the Filmconvert plugin from my machine I noticed my adobe\common\plug-ins\CS5.5\MediaCore folder had Vanished !

When attempting to remove the Filmconvert plugin from my machine I noticed my adobe>common>plug-ins>CS5.5>MediaCore folder had vanished ! and there was also no folder for my cc version at all ? so digging deeper i noticed a large amount of my after effects plugins were installed separately in my applications folder ! I m very confused as to how this has happened and was wondering if anything like this had happened to any1 else ? and how to get everything back to normal ?
Im now worried theres something wrong with my bios on my Mac and i don't no why my plug-ins would have vanished from where they should be installed? as they still work fine in the actual software itself.

If you are on a Mac the Library folder is hidden. You have to jump through some hoops to get there.

  • No plug-ins will pass validation (remove property listener?)

    Okay, this is strange ..
I gave my iMac a fresh install of OS X Lion and also Logic Pro. Worked with it already but from time to time I want to make a fresh start. I use my iMac only for producing music. For all the other stuff I use a second computer with Windows. This time it took much more time to download and install all the extra packages (like the Jam Packs). I had to restart Logic several times because downloads failed. Anyway, everything must be in the right place now. Here comes the real problem: NO plug-ins will pass the validation!
Yesterday I tried it with my UAD stuff. Nothing. So I thought, maybe I did something wrong. Today I made a fresh install of my iMac and Logic Pro AGAIN. But now I tried it with just 1 plug-in: Microtonic 3. Same problem. The following phrase from the AU validation result shows the same error:
    VERIFYING RECOMMENDED PROPERTIES:
    VERIFYING PROPERTY: Latency
    PASS
ERROR: -2147450878 IN CALL Remove Property Listener
    ** FAIL
I bought Logic and Microtonic (and also UAD ofcourse) so it must be a problem within Logic or my computer. Tried Google first but wasn't satisfied with the results. What does this problem mean and how can I solve it?
The thing is, everything worked fine (used all plug-ins before). I did also a fresh install in the summer, with absolutely no problems. So I don't understand. Could it be OS updates? Because it's now 10.7.5 instead of 10.7.4. If so, is there a possibility to get .4 back?
    Notes:
I used the last installer from UAD > 6.3.1 August 2012.
    All plug-ins worked fine before.
Logic Pro was both times the first program I installed. Before I made a fresh install of my computer there were no issues.
I made a clean install twice and both times I checked a plug-in one at a time. No plug-in will validate. Unbelievable.
I wrote a mail to someone who works for the company where I bought my computer. It's a specialist in Apple audio and helped me before with an Apogee Duet 2 problem.
I go for a third clean install in a few days and won't do a software update (of my computer) before I tested Logic Pro first.
Don't know what to do else.

    Hi Nomad_76,
I did an update from 10.5.? to 10.6.8. to 10.7.5 - not a clean install. The latter would cost me a week beating my head against the wall ... :-)
Do you get an error for EVERY Plug-in or just for some? Did you install 10.7.5?
In the meantime, Logic got sight of my MIDI Interfaces, now I can change ports and MIDI channels as expected and as named in the MIDI/Audio utility. I don't know what made Logic work for that.
    APPLE HELP for me too!

  • Removing plug-ins?

I recently purchased a new plug-in for Motion (Conduit 2 from dvgarage) and found it to be pretty buggy right now. I'd like to remove it and re-install the original Conduit version 1. I still have the installer for version 1.
Is it simply a matter of removing Conduit from the plug-ins folder then running the installer for version 1 and checking for updates?

That is certainly the case for the FxPlug interface. It is conceivable, however, that Conduit has other files about that could affect you, but I don't know if they do.
So - don't like Conduit 2, eh? I bought Conduit 1 and found it to be useful and intriguing, but stopped using it because I wanted my projects to be playable in basic Motion. I was considering purchasing the new 2.0, but sounds like you don't recommend it...
