Removing Album Artwork??

Along with every other issue I'm having, I've now ran into the problem that I can't seem to remove the album artowrk FROM the ipod, dispite removing it from itunes, syncing with no problems(which I'm surprised)and boom, artwork is STILL on the ipod.
I really dislike coverflow, I have no use for it, I'm sure it's cool looking on the iPod Touch, but this isn't a Touch, it's a tiny screen and I NEVER listen to my music by album, honestly I don't think many people do(at least people who only have digital music libraries v/s a cd collection), I don't want what random album artwork I do have added to my ipod. After restoring, it was gone for awhile but after my most recent sync it's now uploding the artwork again even tho the option is disabled.
Another reason I don't want the artwork is due to the Menu speeds, when you have artwork the menus lag very bad. So between not liking nor wanting it, the menu lag, and the limitless other "BETA" issues we all are having, why is it that I can't turn this one little annyoing feature off?
Any ideas?

Go Into The Song's Infos. Click On Artwork . (upper Right)
Click On the Artwork. click delete...

  • Itunes automatically rechanges tags and removes album artwork

my iTunes automatically rechanges tags and removes album artwork, and i mean in the bad way, rmoving my artwork, and rechanging Progressive Rock tag to Progressieve rock
I hate it when he does that, fix this bug please

iTunes does not do any automatic tag changes. However, it will reflect the changes if another program changes tag data. The usual culprit is Windows Media Player.
Go into WMP and uncheck any library options that could cause it to retrieve media data from the internet, etc, etc.

  • How can I edit/change/update/remove album artwork for a song in iCloud?

    Dear Community,
    my problem is the following.
I'm editing my songs/albums artworks and when I change these artworks, iTunes Match syncs my artworks back to the original ones.
I've tried a lot of things, read a lot of discussions but I didn't find a solution for this problem.
    For example:
I've deleted for an album all of my songs artworks, then set the good one. Then I've done an update for iTunes Match in Store menu. My artworks didn't changed on an Apple TV2
If I just delete the artworks, do an iTunes Match upgrade, the artworks on an iPhone 4S & Apple TV2 remains the same (I've also removed the songs from my iPhone and redownloaded them...)
I used TuneUp iTunes plugin for song identifying. It did a very good job, changed my artworks, my metadata, everything looked good. After a few minutes iTunes Match synced, the artworks restored to the old ones, but the metadata info didn't changed, it is updated in iCloud too.
I'm also tried to get artworks from iTunes, it worked very well for some albums, but again: iTunes Match synced...
I've turned off iTunes Match, done the album editing. Again when I've turned on iTunes Match, the album artworks restored..
In my opinion if I use a cloud service, anything I do locally in my iTunes library, it should sync up to the cloud. EVERYTHING means music, music metadata, music artwork etc.
    So what is the solution?
What can be the reason all of this?
    Someone has the same issue?
    Is it a bug?
    One more thing
In this album all of my songs has the same artwork (David Guetta: One Love)
Look at the BRAVO hits cover

Try this, it has worked for me.
    1. Make a new, empty iTune library by launching iTunes while holding down the Option key.
    2. Choose create new library; do NOT have iTunes scan for music.
    3. Enable iTunes Match on the empty library.
    4. Find the tracks with the wrong artwork, highlight them, Get Info and paste the correct artwork into the "artwork" field.
    5. When finished update iTunes Match, then re-launch iTunes while holding down the Option key and chose select library to get back to the "master" library.

  • Remove Album Artwork from iPod

I recently had to reset my iPod. Previously, I attempted to maximize my available space on my 2 GB iPod by changing settings to do not show my album artwork. I went to edit, preferences and clicked on music as the on-line instructions indicated. I could not find the option to turn off my artwork. It seems like before my reset, my iPod would hold approx 500 songs. Now is holds less than 400. Is this because of the artwork?

    Hello NationwideGA,
    And welcome to Apple Discussions!
There used to be an option from under your iPod's Summary tab in iTunes that allow you to choose whether or not you wanted to include artwork on your iPod. However, as of iTunes 9, this option is no more and the default is that artwork is included on your iPod.
So now the only way to remove all the artwork from your iPod is to remove it from each of your tracks in iTunes and I'm not exactly sure that is something you want to do. Even if you did, it wouldn't free up a significant amount of space on your iPod overall. At best a very small fraction a percentage.
Not sure why you can only sync fewer songs now, but have you tried restoring your iPod yet?

  • Unable to remove album artwork

I have a 30gb photo and was intrigued by adding the album artwork. I added it for two albums and realized that I really don't care about having on after all. I've tried removing it and now what I get on every single song on my ipod is a large blank box that I cannot remove. I just want to get back to the progress bar and song title.
Any suggestions would be helpful. I'm running I-Tunes version 5.0.1.4.
    thanks!

    OK Melody,
I have juts tried this and it worked on my 60GB iPod Photo.
Under edit>preferences ipod tab music tab take check (tick) mark out of the box that says "Display album art on your iPod"
The status box in the top of iTunes told me it was deleting artwork.
When I disconnected the iPod I no longer had any artwork.
If this is not working on yours I would suggest that you restore the iPod and reload your songs (make sure you have back up copies somewhere other than the iPod first as a restor ewill wipe teh iPod clean)

  • How Do I Remove Album Artwork from Apple TV (2nd gen) Screen Saver

I can't stand looking at pixelated album artwork of, say, Dr. Dre's "The Chronic" when I'm listening to "Le nozze di Figaro." How can I get the album artwork off the Apple TV without losing the artwork on my iPod Touch.
I've selected Settings > Screen Saver and then under "Photo Screen Savers" I've picked the photo album I want. (It took 15 minutes to load 1800 images.) But the stupid album artwork keeps showing up. Turns out I should've listened to my friend who said never update iTunes or AppleTV software because it won't improve your quality of life. Too true. Help please!

BTW -- I'm using a MacBook Pro that's less than 8 mos old, running OSX ver 10.7.5. No other problems with computer, iTunes, iPhoto or Apple TV.

  • How can I remove "Album Artwork" from my iPhone and iPad?

I've posted about this before in other threads, but the silence from Apple has been deafening,  Others in the community have agreed with the request but haven't been able to answer it.
I thought a thread of its own might get attention, since Apple won't talk to me otherwise.
I use music on my iPhone and iPad a lot, playing through speakers in my study or through the car system.  It worked well at first, until I updated the operating systems.
Now, where I used to have a list of albums, music, or playlists I have large blank areas where album artwork would go if there were any - which in most cases there isn't.  The iPad used to display 50 or more playlists in one screen, with some details of them.  Now, it shows 15 blank squares with a crotchet on them, and the name of the playlist.  That really isn't much use.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE can there be a way to turn OFF album artwork on the iPhone and iPad?   It wastes an enormous amount of screen space for stuff I don't have and don't want.   It's a very unwelcome new "feature" (ie "bug").

Apple does not participate in these forums, so that would explain why you have not received a response.
I am not aware of a way to turn off Album art on the devices. If you want to let Apple know of your desire for this setting, go to www.apple.com/feedback and click on the appropriate link. That is where you communicate with them. They will receive the feedback, however they do not respond to it.

  • Where's the "Display album artwork on your iPod" preference?

Everything seems to work fine with iTunes 9.0.1 and my iPod Classic 80G, except that it doesn't seem possible to remove album artwork from the iPod. I just read the article "[Viewing album artwork on iPod|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2317?viewlocale=en_US]" and I know that I just have to deselect the "Display album artwork on your iPod" preference in iTunes. The problem is that, after selecting my iPod under the Devices section in the iTunes Source pane, I can't find any such preference in the Music tab. I can see two radio buttons ("Entire music library" and "Selected playlists, artits, and genres") and one checkbox ("Include music videos"), but no "Display album artwork on your iPod" checkbox.
    Any idea?

Since when has the left hand known what the right hand is doing in any organiszation.
Can you give a reference supporting your statement ?
From Apple? No. Plenty of threads in here though, both builds of iTunes 9 released for Mac & PC have been missing this feature and people have given feedback. This is either a policy change and it will remain that way or it was accidentally omitted during the redesign in which case it may reappear in a future build. Either way the control isn't magically missing from just your copy, it's the same for all of us.

  • Blank album artwork can't be removed - weird

I added album artwork to an entire album by selecting all songs, opening the 'Get Info' window, and pasting the image into the Artwork field. This normally works, but on this occasion the album artwork was not showing up in cover flow. The cause seems to be a problem with the first song of the album and it's very weird. I can see the album art in the Get Info window for all the other songs, and delete it. But the first song doesn't show the artwork. There's obviously something there but no way to see it or delete it.
Here's what shows up in different views within iTunes:
    Get Info > Summary:
Blank grey area where album art or 'No Artwork Available' icon should be. Sometimes it has a square black border where the artwork should be, sometimes not — the appearance of the border is completely random.
    Get Info > Artwork:
Completely blank. However, the size slider IS selectable and can be moved, but nothing becomes visible. There IS something there, because you can click where the artwork should be and the 'Delete' button becomes clickable. Clicking it greys everything out as though it has deleted it, but when you click OK the problem remains.
    Grid View:
Album appears as a horizontal black line (as though the cover is only a few pixels tall). It's selectable and I tried the 'Clear Downloaded Artwork' command, but it does nothing. (It's artwork I copied and pasted, but I thought it was worth a try.)
    Cover Flow:
Where the album art should be is completely blank. It's just empty black space — no music note symbol.
There seems to be no way to fix the problem. I can add another cover image to the song, but it doesn't stick — when I close and reopen the Get Info window, it's gone and the weird blank image is still there.
I'm running iTunes 9.0 in Snow Leopard 10.6.1.

To be more specific, click the book you want to change, then click File -> Get Info. The select the Artwork tab. From there you can remove the current image, and add the one you want (from google images, or any other source).
    Hope this helps!

  • Option to Remove Explicit Audio/Visual Album Artwork

    Hello,
I'd like to request the option to remove the album artwork, perhaps from any currently playing song. Explicit artwork (such as from suggested songs) shows up when I am listening to clean music.
For example, when I make a radio station based on a Trance song that I like (that is very clean), the artwork may be explicit/racy/offensive for a random new song that I have no control of. In addition, suggestions of other popular songs pop up in the edges of the interface that I have no control over.
Thus, it would be great if I could turn off artwork during radio mode, or completely. (Or, if there was a filter for radio play that blocked explicit material--audio or visual.)
Thanks very much as this would provide a cleaner environment for the majority youth that is using Spotify.

I'm surprised this is an issue. Parental controls to block the display of explicit album covers and tracks should have been implemented a long time ago. I do not understand how this option does not yet exist, especially since Spotify has a music category labeled "Kids". Why would anyone want their kids surfing Spotify for music when there are album covers showing scantily clad and/or completely bare breasted women, often posed in sexual positions. These types of albums pop up randomly, especially while you are searching artists/tracks. I'm tempted to get rid of my account, after seeing an album cover displaying topless women, while using Spotify on my PS4...I was looking for different versions of "I Heard it Through the Grapevine" (not an explicit song) and BAM...bare boobs in my face. Good thing my kid was not there listening to music with me...a ritual we enjoy doing together. Apparently, this is not an option with Spotify.  Please please please implement the option to block explicit album art. I believe this functionality exists on the iPhone version...or did at one point. I would like this option on the desktop and PS4 as well. Otherwise, I will strongly consider canceling my subscription. Almost every other entertainment app/platform I've used has had these types of parental controls available. It would not stop others from seeing the artwork...it will just allow the opportunity to create a safer and less sleazy atmosphere for impressionable kids/young adults. Thanks.

  • How do I delete / remove Album info & artwork?

    Hello, Good people of Appleville!
I have an issue.  I'm very picky about my music.  Always have been.  I've been very careful to limit the information and data on each song to Title, Artist, & Genre.  However, having recently bought a Iphone 5s, it automatically updated via the cloud, so when my music is playing, it shows me those album pictures.  I don't want them there.  They aren't objectionable, it's just not orderly, and it bothers me.  I've managed to remove them from everything on the Itunes library, but the Iphone library still has a few holdouts.  Anyone have any idea how to edit the files as they are on the Phone to get rid of the Album info and artwork?
    Clint

Right click (control+click if using a one button mouse) on the file you want to remove the artwork from, choose Get Info then the Artwork tab, click on the image and press the delete button then OK. To remove from multiple items, highlight the adjacent tracks in your selection (click on the first in the list, hold down the shift key and click on the last), right click and choose Get Info, choose yes when you are asked if you want to edit multiple items, tick the box beside the small empty artwork window about halfway down on the right. If you are updating your iPod automatically the artwork will be removed the next time you connect, If you are updating manually, carry out the procedure above with the iPod connected and choose the song from the iPod list rather than the iTunes library.

  • How do I change/remove my album artwork?

I got bored one day when I had my old windows computer - and went through my iTunes library filling in files that didn't have album artwork with random images (didn't have the internet then to download real artwork either). Now I would really like to get rid of the non-sensical images but they seem to be stuck to the file - I got rid of the images from the "album artwork" files but they're still stuck to the music files. Can anyone help me?

Right click on the song you want to remove the artwork from, choose Get Info then the Artwork tab, click on the image and press the delete button then OK. (if the songs aren't adjacent to each other but spread through out the playlist or library hold down the Command (⌘) key and click on each of the songs you want to highlight)

  • Can the album artwork placeholder be removed?

I use no album artwork for the tracks on my iTunes and, by extension, on my iPod. So the entire screen of my previous iPod, a 5th gen model, was available to display the title, album, and artist. The screen of my current iPod, a 6th gen late-2009 (160GB) model (sometimes  referred to  as 7th gen), displays an album artwork placeholder that cuts the screen real estate in half, severely truncating the displayed track (especially, for my collection, album name) information. Is there a display setting, or any other procedure, that will remove that placeholder so that the whole screen will be available to display track information as in the previous model?

    (Well, that was easy. Heh.)
Yep, I was afraid that was likely the case. Thanks.
