Removing ALL audio tracks in a project

How do I remove ALL audio recorded in a .cp? I don't mean how
to compile w/o audio, I want to delete all tracks. I'd rather not
go through each slide and click each object and remove the audio
associated w/ it. I have lot's of audio that I want to get rid of.
Thanks.

  • How can I use ALL audio tracks in multiclip editing?

I want to be able to use all audio tracks after the multiclip cut.
It's only a two camera shoot, but I want to be able to use the ambient room sound from the second camera ... and control its level (in relation to the master audio track on the first camera) AFTER the cuts are made.
Is this possible in multiclip editing? And how does one go about it?
Apologies. I've spent an hour or so in the manual, and it isn't clear ... or I'm just not finding the right reference.
    All ears,
    Ben

Sorry if I'm steering you down a path you don't want to go or even if there's a better way but I wouldn't be ding complex audio mixing anywhere near the multiclip interface. Export your reference movie or nest the multiclip project into another sequence, bring in your additional tracks, get to work. Just my preferences, I put a bunch of rough keyframes in the audio tracks and enter some markers (and make a lot of paper notes). Then I go back using the large mixer window to do the fine tweaking.
Stick around for a couple of days, some other multiclip users with more experience than I will offer some more useful suggestions.

  • Channel strip plugin setting attaches to all audio tracks -- why

Hi all, an interesting thing happened today. Put down bass/drum/rhythm guitar trax. Rhythm guitar used a NI Guitar Rig 3 plugin -- a Vox amp with spring reverb.
    So far, all is well.
Then I create a new audio track, for the lead guitar. Much to my surprise, it took on the settings of the rhythm guitar track -- the NI GR3 Vox amp with spring reverb.
I tried clearing the channel trip settings. I tried bypassing the plugin in the rhythm track. I created new audio tracks.
All to no avail -- all audio tracks retained the settings of that first track, that is Vox with reverb.
I finalyl created a new project and moved my tracks over. All is fine now, but does anyone know what might have caused that? And how to avoid in future?
I really enjoy Logic, but I have to wrestle with fear every time I open it -- a "what the f's gonna go wrong this time?" sorta feeling. I've started pricing out Pro Tools systems to be honest...

It sounds like you don't understand the concept of Logic - tracks and track objects.
You can have for instance twenty tracks, all set to an Audio Channel 1 object. The tracks themselves are independent, but all audio plays through that Audio Channel 1. This is great for, for eaxmple, comping up a vocal part. Note that audio channels are themselves monophonic, so you can have only one audio region playing at any one time.
This is different to independant arrange tracks that play through different audio channels..
So when you hit your "next track" key command, make sure you are using "Create Track with next object", and not "Create Track". Create Track just creates a new arrange track assigned to the same track object. The other one creates a new arrange track and assigns the next track object, so everything's fully independent.
This is a complexity in Logic that other DAWs don't have, but it's a great feature once you get your head around it. One reason I like Logic over other DAWs.
So arrange tracks and audio channels are not inextricably linked, as they are in other DAWs.

  • Premiere not showing all audio tracks in video file?

    Hello,
The short version of my issue is that I am not seeing all audio tracks in my imported AVI video. I know they are there, but only one track is showing.
    Longer version:
I have an application called Action! that is used for recording games. There is a setting on this application that allows you to record your microphone as a separate audio track.  I made a 15 minute video using this. If i play this video in Action!'s media player, i can switch between my game track and my microphone track. If I play the video file in Windows Media Player, it plays both tracks. When I import this video file into Premiere (or Soundbooth) it only shows the Game track and not the microphone track. I cannot find a way to get to the microphone track. It just seems like it doesnt exist. Any thoughts?
    Thanks in advance

  • Move all audio track anchors at one time together

Move all audio track anchors at one time together..is this possible? I imported a remix, figured out the tempo. Now I want to make the tracks ( regions) all start on a downbeat to align with my measures..thx in advance for your assistance..

    > How do you do that?
I'd begin by reading the Beat Mapping Track section in the Reference manual, p. 337...
    > They are not referencing anything.
Oh, yes, they are: these anchors actually reference the first sample to be played... Presumably, they were recorded to start together and play along, right? When you dragged them, they all landed as new audio regions starting at the beginning of the same bar, since their respective anchors are all aligned at the start of the so-called region. These anchors will stick to the tick they landed to, whatever tempo change you make, unless you move the regions.
    Or maybe you're missing something?...

  • Importing a project into PE 12 trial version, not all audio tracks play back!

I'm trying the trial vesion of PE 12.  Imported a project that I had created with PE 9.  Everything appears to have been imported, including all the audio tracks.  But when i play it back, some of the audio tracks are completely muted, while others, are fine and I can hear it.
Any idea what can cause this?

With "muted" Audio Tracks, I would look at a few possibilities, and especailly with a Project created in an earlier version of PrE:
Open Audio Mixer, and look to see if any Tracks are Muted.
Play the Timeline, and observe the Levels in Audio Mixer, and also whether there is any movement of the "sliders" in Audio Mixer.
Observe which Audio Tracks your Audio Clips are, in the Timeline, and report those please.
Making sure that Keyframe Display is set to Volume in your Audio Clips, are there any Volume Keyframes?
I am sure that others will have a few more ideas, and questions.
    Good luck,

  • All audio tracks disappeared form the Timeline, but audio still works

    Hi there.
I've been using Premiere for quite a while (I still have the 2.0 version), but this problem never occured before. I'm running Premiere on Win Vista.
I've been working on a project for a few weeks and eventually I got a version that was more or less final. Thus I tried to render everything a few times (Quicktime H264) but the render never succeeded because of an "API failure". Didn't manage to fix that, so I tried to render in wmv, just to check if it worked.
Well, it worked, but when render finished all the audio tracks had disappeared form the Timeline. I tried to find a solution on the web but couldn't find anything useful. No matters how much I scroll down and/or move the windows, the audio tracks just are not there. And the triky part is that I still can hear the sound when playing the sequence! I tried to add some empty audio tracks and Premiere apparently does it (it records it in the history), but no audio track shows up...
    Any solutions?
    Thank you

This sounds like a redraw problem, which is usually the fault of graphics hardware/driver.  Try checking those.

  • How do I hear all audio tracks in multiclip at once?

Working in Final Cut 5. I've set up a multiclip with three angles and everything is running fine. However, in my sequence, I want to have all six audio tracks active at the same time, and then use the multi clip to cut the video. How do I do this without having to lay each one back in?

I'm interested in this as well. Any thoughts out there?

  • All audio tracks have same waveform in cs5

    Dear Friends,
When i import 1080p AVI with 8 different audio tracks in Premier CS5 all my audio tracks have save waveform as that of track no 1. I mean all tracks looks the same though they are different as 5.1 and stereo.
Please help and advice. Thanking You.

I really have no idea what you are doing or what your signal routing looks like, nor do I know how experienced you are with audio software and signal routings in general. What I now think you mean is that you can't monitor your input properly, you cannot hear the signal of the mic? Is that right? Or how did you arrive to the conclusion that none of your plugins work on audio tracks? Have you actually put an audio file on your audio track?
If you want to hear your input +processed through Logics' plugins,+ you need to enable Software Monitoring - just add its button (with a 'muted speaker' icon) to the transport by rightclicking the transport and ticking *Software Monitoring* on the list. Button grey=off, button green with dot in it=on.
Of course the channel strip/track you receive the input on should also have an output selected, or you will never hear anything.

  • How to remove all slide notes in a project at once

    Hi All,
I've some problem on removing slide note. I recently know how to remove slide note "one by one" method on captivate 8 but if I want to remove all slide notes at once, How can I do?
    Anybody know about this?

    Hi there,
At present there is no option present in Captivate to delete the all slide notes at once. Please use the below link and file feature request for the same so that we can consider it for the future releases.

  • MPEG-4  ( H.264 ) Movies play ALL audio tracks simultaneously

In i-Tunes , when I try to play MPEG4's with multiple audio tracks (such as 1-english 2-director comment)both audio tracks play at the same time.
The files are MPEG-4's created by Nero Recode (AVC – HDTV profile).
There is no issue with any similar files with one audio track.
There is no issue playing these in VLC , WMP Mplayer, etc.
Is there an option to enable i-Tunes to allow me to select only one track?

  • Removing Dead Audio Tracks in Multiclip

    Question for FCP7.
I'm working with a concert sequence that has a lot of problems. The footage wasn't shot properly so TC was a mess, but none the less, after a lot of work, one of our editors was able to craft a sequence with a number of multiclips representing two, sometimes three cameras.
The trouble is, is looks like the sound was recorded onto different tracks for each camera. So a Stereo Mix on 1&2, the Lav on 3 but the boom on 5 for one camera, and the Stereo Mix on 1&2, Lav on 4 and the boom on 5 for the other. Sounds strange I know. So I've got 5 tracks of audio, with one dead track for each camera, but that dead source is on a different track for each camera in Final Cut.
When I try to strip it out for one camera in a multiclip, it also cuts the same track, which is a good source, for the other camera when I switch back.
This is hard to describe I know. Can you have an uneven amount of audio tracks in a multiclip? Can you cut one track from one source, and have it leave the tracks from the other intact?
    Thanks a bunch.

It is possible (and pretty easy) to assign one audio track for the multiclip. I've found that if you want to use more than one track, it's easiest to mix in the other tracks after the cutting is completed.
The FCP6 User Manual (the last with an index...) says this:
To switch only the video of the active multiclip angle in the Viewer:
1 Double-click a multiclip in the Browser or Timeline to open it in the Viewer.
2 Choose View > Multiclip Active Tracks > Video.
You can also choose this option from the Playhead Sync pop-up menu in the Viewer.
3 Click an angle to make it active.
A blue outline highlights the active video angle.
    which I find fairly unhelpful.
I learned a "bass ackward" way of easily setting the audio track that works great once you understand it.
    1. Double-click a multiclip in the Browser or Timeline to open it in the Viewer.
    2. Select a angle that contains the audio track you want to use. There should be both green and blue borders on this clip when selected. (if not, choose Video + Audio from the Playhead Sync (center) drop-down button.)
    3. Using the Playhead Sync drop-down button (the center button above the angle array in Viewer), select Video and then cliuck on any other angle. At this point, there should be a green border on the angle you wish to use for audio and a blue border on the current video angle. From here on, as you cut the audio should stay on its angle while the video will be on whatever angle you have chosen.
I refer to this as "reverse Polish notation", (no flames please")  a term that was used to describe the arithmetic system used on the H-P technical calculators.  In essence, you set the video to indicate where you don't want the audio to be...
    hope this helps

  • 'Remove Silent Channels' Removes ALL Audio, how to fix?

Thanks in advance for anyone who can save me a BOATLOAD of time re-ingesting footage. I have footage from an entire feature film I've shot on a server. It is 4k RED footage and I am having FCP X create 2k proxy files to a local drive for speedier editing.
For the last 10-12 days of shooting, I did a mass ingest, and while importing footage, I checked the 'Remove Silent Channels' box during the import, along with the 'Create Proxy Files' checkbox.
Now, (of course, after labeling all the footage), I find that none of the proxy files have ANY audio. They are all silent. BUT! Opening the proxy files in QT off of the local drive, the proxy files HAVE audio, its just not showing up in FCP??!?!
The only way I've been able to fix is to re-ingest the footage without the 'Remove Silent Channels' box clicked. Which means I'd have to spend hours creating new proxy files and relabeling them.
    Any thoughts? Thanks again.

Thanks Tom -- if my memory serves me correctly, there was nothing there. Will double check when I get back to the machine tonight.

  • Media Encoder CS6 Not Exporting all Audio Tracks From Premiere

I'm working with DSLR footage, 2 Channels of .WAV audio from an exernal recorder (H4N), and a 1 channel .WAV Music track. 3 Channels total of .Wav audio.
I can export from Premiere Pro CS6 to H.264 just fine, but if I try to send it to Media Encoder, it only track 3, which has the music.
I can't figure out this issue, and haven't found an answer on any forums. This problem effectively makes Media Encoder useless to me, so I would prefer it to be solved, rather than find a work around.
Thanks in advance for your help!
    Mark

I'm having the same problem. But even worst.
For the test, I take a 10 min .mov or mp4 file, simply modify the "scale", and hit the export.
a 10 min file is taking 4 hours to render.
    This is on a:
    2012 MacBookPro i7 2.3Ghz, 16 GB 1600 DDR3, SSD disk. - Mac OSX 10.7.5
    and a:
    2011 iMac i7 3.7Ghz, 16 GB 1333 Mhz, 7200 RPM HD - Mac OSX 10.7.5
The CPU stays at 90% idle the whole time.
I know this is an old thread, but maybe someone could give me a hand.

  • All audio tracks won't import to final cut pro...sigh :-(

Hello I'm Dani, probably a novice in comparison to regular final cut pro users
I have a big problem with putting any music onto my timeline. It always says 'files not recognised' when I try to import any type of audio file. Thus far I have only managed to place two music tracks onto a timeline, but have been unable to differentiate anything between the two files that import and the hundreds that won't!
Please help, I think there is probably a really simple solution but I cannot figure it out x thanks x

Your music tracks are probably in an incompatible format. What are the file extensions for these music files? See if you can bring them into compressor and convert to 48k16 bit aiff (probably the best format for working in fcp).
