Removing apps from cloud

Hi!
I have been trying out a few game apps on my new iPad Air.  Some I want to keep; some I will never play again and want to remove.  I know how to make them wiggle and then click the cross so they don't show on my apps page.  But they are still there in my cloud.  How can I remove them?  (They were all free and I am not sync'ed to a computer, but am using my iPad as a stand-alone device.)
Thank you.

They are not in your personal iCloud storage space though.  They are in the App Stores cloud system, since the iTunes and App stores themselves are entirely cloud based systems (i.e. they exist only in the internet).
Apps and purchased content never count against your personal iCloud storage space - there is no need as they are already available to anyone via the online stores you originally purchased them from.

    Hey ktillis88,
Thanks for the question. Based on the information you have provided, the following resource may be helpful:

"Backups for appname cannot be turned off at this time."
This message occurs if disabling Backup for an app on your iOS device does not complete successfully. Wait a few minutes and then attempt to disable Backup for the app again. If you continue to receive this alert, contact iCloud Support for assistance.
    Thanks,

my email address changed and now I cannot remove it from cloud on my iphone 5s in order to back my phone up and download apps now

If you are trying to change the iCloud ID on yoru phone from an old ID ("email address") to your current ID, and if it is an earlier version of your current ID, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

Heh, that can become a nuisance. Don't know how many you've accrued in your years of iGadget enjoyment, but I've managed to accumulate nearly 600, all free   So yeah, the list can get lengthy
I'm afraid to count . I don't spend a lot time worry about it, but have on occassion gone in and hidden a few items. A handful of apps I know I never want to see again, plus some free music tracks that didn't pan out and some TV episodes that no longer have any value to me.

  • How can I permanently remove apps from my ipad, iphone and ipod (which are in icloud)?

How can I permanently remove apps from my iphone, ipad, ipod operating in the iCloud?

Apps don't operate in the cloud - they're either downloaded to your device, or they're in your Purchased list. You can't permanently remove the history of apps you've purchased, but you can hide them. See this link:

  • HT201322 remove app from purchase history

    hi,
How can remove app from purchase history in account

The original error was the fact that when I installed video you on the iPad it was installed without audio, so I tried to delete the app and re-install. When I go to the purchase list of apps the app has a cloud instead of the word free. To me these means that the app that is being installed is from the cloud not from the developer. This produces the original error each time I install the all it gas no audio. I understand that in the release of the operating system on the iPad I am not able to hide the app. This was an option in earlier releases of the operating system.

  • How can I remove apps from my iPad

How can I remove apps from my iPad? It does not have the little "x" option on the iPad like the iPhones.

It works just the same as an iPhone. A long hold on an icon will cause them all to start wobbling, drag to move around or tap the X to remove. You can't remove any of the built-in apps so these won't get an X to tap.

How can I remove apps from my iPhone 5 home page?

Tap and hold an app until they all start to wiggle, then tap the black "x" on the apps you want to delete from your phone, or drag them to the edge of the screen if you want to move them to another screen rather than deleting them.  Finish by tapping the home button.

  • Few problems with the dock. Creating App stack, and removing apps from dock

OK.. I am running leopard 10.5.4, and decided I wanted to use the app folder as a stack. I made my new folder with the alias' inside. However, when I went to move it into the dock, 9on the right side of the sizing bar), the other stacks failed to shift out of the way, so I couldn't add it in.
Another problem is that I can't see to remove apps from the dock. I have admin rights, and they are not active, hence the desire to get rid.
    Anyone have an idea??

Erm... Doh! had dock 'locked' in Onyx...

  • Removing apps from devices in itunes

Hi all, first time and hopefully last time blogger but if IT’S BROKEN I’ll be back. I have 3 IOS devices (iphone 5, ipads 2 & 3) all have been updated to the
latest IOS software. These devices are synced with a PC which has the latest itunes software. I can’t remove any apps through itunes for any of the devices
(e.g. sync with itunes then highlight the apps in the app screen but it won’t change to “will remove”).
Does anyone know why apple breaks (it’s broken) these interfacing software issues. Why change things to be difficult , aren’t these software
updates meant to be improvements not hassles

Until a couple of days ago, I had never seen this in iTunes. This is not exactly what you are talking about but it is somewhat related. I found this to be very odd. The long and short of it is that I could delete apps from my iTunes library, then sync my iPad with iTunes - and even though the apps were no longer in the apps list when the iPad was connected to my Mac, with iTunes running and with the iPad selected under devices - they were not removed when I synced.
    Take a look.

  • Removing Apps From iPhone App Store

    Hello,
I have been searching all over but I can't find a post on how to remove apps from the iPhone App Store purchased list. I have been able to do it in the past by swiping the app in the purchase list and selecting hide but it appears this function is disabled... Does anyone have any clue on how to do this now. Thank you

  • Removing Apps from iPhone using iTunes Apps Sync Apps doesn't work

Im trying to manage the space on my iPhone 4 16GB, so when I go on hiloday I have enough space for photos and vacation movies.
When plugged in, iTunes shows my apps in the Apps tab. (it actually shows an extra page of apps which are not installed on my phone)
In iTunes I used to hover over an app, click the x to remove, confirm the prompt to delete and finally, sync. The app was gone from my phone.
    Now this doesnt work.
The other way was to uncheck the app from my list of apps (in iTunes Apps tab), and then sync.
    This doesnt work either.
I'm sure I used to use this method previously.
This is especially handy because itunes lists the applications by size, so I can easily see the ones that will free up the most space.
Is there any way to remove apps from the iPhone WITHOUT DOING IT ON THE PHONE?
Note: I have 'Sync Apps' ticked & 'automatically sync new apps' unticked.
    Im running:
    Macbook Air 2012
    OS X 10.8.1 64 Bit
    Itunes 10.7(21) 64 Bit
    iPhone 4 iOS 6.0 (10A403)

Are the apps in your iTunes library using the same AppleID as the one signed into on your phone?

  • Help reordering or removing apps from list

How can you reorder or remove apps from the list of apps you get to if you swipe to the left of The Hub? I can remove the apps from displaying messages in The Hub, but cannot reorder or removed(hide) them from the list ? It is hard to keep prying eyes from private emails, texts, bbms, with these quick links as is.

You cannot "hide" apps that appear in the Hub, but you can eliminate the from being displayed in the Hub (and put them back later).
Open the Hub with the swipe right, then select the three dots in the lower righthand corner. Choose Settings > Hub Management and turn off whatever you don't want to see displayed in the Hub. Just turn 'em back on later when you feel like it.
It won't stop prying eyes from simply opening BBM or Test Messages, but at least they won't be on display in the Hub when you're trying to demo the device.
