Removing audio folders from browser

I have an old sound effects folder that contains nothing.
I added it by dragging it to the pane. As time has gone on I no longer use these effects and wish to remove the folder.
It doesn't seem to be as easy to remove it as it was to add it.

Just guessing, but I think you have to remove the folder from its source. You might want to try closing iMovie, then going to HD/Library/Audio/Apple Loops/Apple and temporily moving the iLife Special Effects folder to your desktop. Be careful not to delete it. Then open iMovie and see if the folder still shows in the media pane. Then you can move the iLife Special Effects folder back into the Apple Loops/Apple folder where it was. If you try it, let us know how it worked.

Removing Photo Folders from "Photo Browser"?

Per the instructions in Mail Help, I dragged some photo folders into the Photo Browser window to use with Mail stationery templates. Now I want to remove the photo folders from the Photo Browser window and can't figure out how. I've tried dragging them to the trash, etc., but nothing seems to work.

Right click (control click for one button mice) on the folder (or the main folders heading if you want to remove all of your folders) and click Remove Folder. Not sure why dragging out of the window doesn't work, but this does!

I am part way through migrating from Exch 2007 to 2010.
All my mailboxes are over and the new server is working as I want it to. The problem has come when trying to un-install the 2007 server. I get the following error:

I've gone round google at least 3 times now reading posts about moving the mailboxes and force-able removing them but nothing works and the folders remain. Below is what I get when trying to follow the standard process of moving them.

If you can confirm the PF's have been replicated properly and rehomed to the Exchange 2010 Server then you can just manually remove the Ex2007 PF store, I have had to do this a few times so I could just get the Ex2007 uninstall to proceed.
In ADSIEdit, go to Configuration, Configuration, Services, Microsoft Exchange, FirstOrganization, Administrative Groups, Exchange Administrative Group, Servers, Servername, Information Store, First Storage Group. Then on the right hand pane, highlight
the Public Folder Store and Delete it.MVP Exchange Server

Is there an easy way to remove audio track from .mp4

Guys
Wondered if anybody knows of a way to take a .mp4 file with a silent audio track exported and remove that audio track altogether without having to reconvert the video in AME- just deleting the (silent) audio track
Have lots of files that need this and was looking for a way to do this without going back and reexporting all the clips the hard way
Any thoughts much appreciated-- (I have access to both Windows 7 and WIndows XP pro 64 bit)

I figured that would work but for some reason the resulting files did not play correctly--Alternatively I used Mpegstreamclip -opened the video I wanted to erase audio track from--- clicked on "edit--delete audio track" then clicked "save as" and this finally accomplished what I was trying to do--Now have a copy of the .mp4 file wo audio

How can I remove audio files from ipod totally not just playlist

I understand how to remove from playlists, how can a file be totally and permanently removed to free up memory?

If you sync by playlists, then remove the song from the playlist in itunes, then sync. The song will be removed from the ipod.
However, if you have genres, artists, etc checked, then you would have to remove that genre, artist,etc from the song info.
If you sync by checked song, then uncheck the song and sync.

Importing folders from browser mail system

I have been using a browser-based web mail system, the Speakeasy mail system that came with my hosting system. I'm switching over to Mail, but when I set it up it only brought over the emails in my actual inbox, and didn't touch any of the other folders I'd made to organize my mail. Any idea on how to bring ALL of the emails and folders into Mail?

Was the account created as a POP type account in Mail and is a POP type account the only option when creating and accessing the account with an email client?
If the account was created as a POP type account, messages available in the account's Inbox mailbox at the server are downloaded only which is the same when accessing a POP type account with any email client.
If POP is your only option when creating and accessing the account with an email client such as the Mail.app, can you transfer messages from the other folders to your account's Inbox at the server? If so, this should allow for downloading all messages in the account's Inbox mailbox in Mail and then moving the messages that were located in other folders at the server to user created "On My Mac" mailboxes in Mail.

Removing audio tracks from a clip

Hi,
I have a set of HD clips that were digitized with 8 tracks of audio. I only need the first two. Is there a way to eliminate these extra tracks BEFORE dropping them on the timeline. It's a great annoyance to have to either lock off audio layers to prevent these from going on my timeline, or having to link and unlink layers and remove them.. There has got to be a better way!!

Locate your clip in the Finder, on the Media drive. Duplicate your clip first...to make sure you don't mess anything up irreversibly.
Open it in Quicktime. Go to the WINDOW menu and then SHOW MOVIE PROPERTIES. Notice how you have a Video track, and then 8 audio tracks, and the timecode track. Delete the audio tracks you don't want by highlighting them and pressing DELETE.
Save the file. Import that into FCP to make sure it is done right.

Removing Mail folders from "On My Mac" section Apple Mail 5.3 0n 10.7.5

Hello,
I typically move read mail out of my Inbox to various folders I have created on the "On My Mac" section of the side in Apple Mail 5.3 running on 10.7.5.
I have folders like these dating back to 2009!!!
I recently decided that after archiving the messages as PDFs, I could reduce my Library > Mail folder size.
I deleted 5 folders total. They no longer appear in the "On My Mac" section even after restarting the computer.
I happened to take a look at my Users/xxx/Library/Mail folder and noticed that three of the five folders I deleted are still listed in the Mail folder but now report a size of 0 bytes. (If it makes a difference, my folders in the On My Mac section are nested but only two layers deep at most)
Did I make an error at some point when deleting the mailboxes that resulted in three of them still appearing in the Mail folder as 0 bytes???
Is it safe to manually delete the three .mbox files in the Mail folder that no longer appear in the sidebar and report a size of 0 bytes??

Hey Kappy,
I don't think I communicated this properly in my original post.
The 5 mailboxes I deleted from the "On My Mac" section of the sidebar where in fact deleted by Ctrl-clicking each one and selecting Delete.
After closing Mail, I took a look in the Mail folder an found that 2 of the 5 were in fact totally gone but the remaining three are still listed but now empty.
I then opened and closed Mail a couple of times and restarted my computer once and they were still present.
After you last message, I moved the 3 empty .mbox files out of the Mail folder to a temp location and since then after several times opening and closing Mail and 2 computer restarts they have NOT returned and Mail seem to continue to function and all of the other mailboxes in the On My Mac section are still present and populated.
I was just curious why after deleting 5 mailboxes, only two were completely removed and the other three were only emptied.

Removing audio tracks from videos

I have some videos with 2 audio tracks on them (stereo and surround).
Is there any way to remove one of those tracks without converting the video?

How do I remove mail folders from "On My Mac?"

I believe my problem is related to Mavericks. 10.9.2. Using Apple Mail and a Gmail account.
I am repeatedly being asked to re enter a password for a Gmail account, so I deleted the Gmail account on all Apple devices (at least I think I did).
So I continue to be hassled for a password to this Gmail account when I open Mail, even though the Gmail account does not appear in my System Settings or under Accounts in Mail.
I do see folders for this same Gmail account in Mail, under the heading "On My Mac."
Do I need to delete these folders as well? If so, how?
Ultimately I would like to reinstall the Gmail account. But I really believe I need to compeltely delete it from my Mac, so Mail will accept the stored password. Tell me if I am wrong.

To delete, select it, and then go to Mail/Mailbox/Delete Mailbox.
Try deleting your Gmail password from Applications/Utilities/Keychain Access. Then run Keychain First Aid and try resetting the original keychain.

Removal of Folders from Email

My iPhone has a folder on it in an email account that I did not create. I see my Inbox, drafts, sent, Trash can, Spam folder, Trash Folder and a strange folder I did not create. I cannot delete it. Does anyone know how?

You're welcome.
You cannot create, delete, or edit mailboxes with the iPhone's mail client. With a POP account, the account's Drafts, Sent, and Trash mailboxes are not created until the function is used by the account. After creating a POP account with the iPhone's mail client, the account's Sent mailbox will not be created until successfully sending a message with the account, which is created automatically by the iPhone's mail client and cannot be deleted or edited with the iPhone.
With an IMAP account, all server stored mailboxes available for the account will be created and available automatically with the iPhone's mail client.
Knowing the type of account is important, so I'll ask you again.
Is this email account a POP or IMAP account?

Outlook remove empty pst folders from stores with powershell script

I created a script that finds all pst folders in the My Documents folder of a user, moves those PST files and attaches the PST to outlook after they've been moved.
If PSTs in a user's my documents folder was attached to Outlook before the script is run. after the script runs successfully in the outlook profile those PSTs would have two entries in the stores, an old reference that is because the PSTs have been moved
those folders can no longer be opened in outlook and each time a user attempts to open the folder it prompts you to browse for the new location of the PST. Then the new entries in the stores which were added via the script.
I want to add removing those empty folders or rather those folders with broken file paths from outlook to my script. Because of these broken folders i can't enumerate through the list of attached folders in outlook, the script errors outlook.
I need help scripting (PowerShell) the task of removing broken folders from the outlook stores
