Removing bottom arrows from a xmlfrom displayed in a navigation iView

Hi,
When you have many news items in a folder and only displaying one item automatically some arrows appear in the bottom of the iView pointing to the next record. Is it possible to remove these arrows with layout sets or in some other way?

Thanks for the suggestion.
I have tried this and the this command also removes the option "new news item". The layout set I am using are for full control so this do not work perfectly. I was hoping I could remove only the arrows, so I do not have to have two layout set for publisher and reader.

I have created a KM navigation Iview and gave the path of documents which are stored in KM.
Now the documents are in KM and can be shown by this iview.
When i click on any document, it is getting opened automatically.
But i dont want this way, when the user clicks on document a pop-up should be given to download the document.
can i know how is it possible?
Also just beside the document, when i click on breadcrumb i can see many options like save, copy, rename....etc.
where i dont what to shown this all options beside documents.
Can you please tell me how to remove this breadcrumb for some particular documents.

Hello, you can achieve this creating a custom layout set. To do so, go to
System Administration > System Configuration > Knowledge Management > Content Management > User Interface > Settings > Layout Set
Choose a layout set - Consumer Explorer for example - check it and select Advanced Copy
Under Scope of Duplication leave only Collection Renderer Settings checked
Under Naming Conventions fill the blanks as your needs (I usually add company name as prefix)
Click on Execute, your layout set is now created.
Search for it and click to display its properties, there you'll find the four main items that compose a LayoutSet:
- Layout Controller
- Collection Renderer
- Resource Renderer
- Commands for Details Menu
You wanna work on the Collection Renderer, notice it's a custom one created during the copy. Select it to edit to chage settings.
Put the following entry under Displayed Properties:
rnd:icon,rnd:displayname(contentLink),rnd:command(command=download/style=icon),contentlength,modified
Save.
On your KM Navigation iView set the Layout Set property with this one you've just created.
This should do the basics you're asking:
- a link to download the documents
- no context menu with undesired commands
In this scenario I've eliminated complety the context menu, if you want to have the menu with just
some options you must work on UI Commands and UI Commands Group, which I suggest doing after
you have basics knowledge on layout sets only..
You can find on SDN lots of documents and threads about KM User Interface, have a special look into Layout Set, Collection Renderers and UI Commands/Groups

How to remove the arrows from next to songs in itunes 11?

I'm using windows 7
the arrows are next to the song names in itunes and they get in my way every now and then.
they open a drop down menu that has some other stuff in it.
i don't wanna sign out of the store or anything else, i just want the arrows gone.
i remember there being an option to remove store links in an older version of itunes, i can't find it in this version.
also, without signing out of the store, is there a way to get rid of the cloud icons, they aren't really in the way, but they bother me, i'm not sure why.

You can turn off the showing of items that are in the cloud via the Store tab in Edit > Preferences - untick the 'Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases' tick box
For the arrow that shows next to a track when you move your mouse pointer over it, I'm not sure that you can turn it off - I also can't find a setting for it

How can I remove the arrows from alias icons?

This is fairly easily done in Windows using TweakUI and 3rd party customization apps, but now that I've migrated to Mac OS I would like to clean up those annoying little arrows. I could not find anything in the Community listings except one item from 2007. Anyone have a solution?

Looking for a solution to this too - and yes I know there are reasons not to hide the arrows... but I want to anyway!
Was able to set these off in Snow Leopard but the upgrade to Mountain Lion has reset the arrows.... not confident enough to tinker about in terminal without a word or two from the wise so.... can anyone confirm that the following instructions would work before I take the plunge and possibly screw something up i don't know how to put right?
1. open Terminal
2. type cd /System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Resources/ -> press enter
3. type sudo mv AliasBadgeIcon.icns AliasBadgeIcon-no.icns -> press enter -> enter password
4. type killall Finder
If anyone has the patience I'd appreciate an 'idiots guide' to what each of the operations above does and also how to switch the arrow icons back on in the event i run into problems...

Firefox on uusing the back arrow from any site displays the link ANASAFYA. What is casuing this?

How do I remove Store arrows from tracks?

I remember in old versions there was a command in the termainal to hide the iTunes Store arrows on the current track. The old method does not seem to be working.
defaults write com.apple.iTunes show-store-arrow-links -bool FALSE
Any updates?
If anyone can figure out how to delete all store access entirely I'd be 100x happier!

I created CM repository and did all settings.i could able to see the folder and subfolder contents under Content administration>KMContent>root-->KMPublications(my own folder).
-->using Administrator user i could able to see all folders/subfolders correctly and could able to edit.
-->now i created KMNavigation iview and created new role called "KMRole".then i assigned iview to page,then page to Role .this "KMRole" is assigned to user called "prasad".
>for folder "KMPublications" ,using context menu Details>settings-->permissions ,i added "KMRole" for "Read" only.
-->when i logon to portal with user "prasad" ,it is showing all root directory content and subfolders.when i click on subfolder called "foods",it is showing me exception.this problem is not coming if i logon as "Administrator".can anybody helpme out.
Note:if i chnage the Path to display value to subfolder ,it is only displaying subfolders content only.if i click on its subdirectory ,it is giving null pointer exception.

Maybe there is approval set up on this folder. Order time based publishing. Both can cause the read users to see nothing.
The first means that read users can only see published documents. If no document is published the result is a empty folder.
Same for the second feature. If timebased publishing it can be that all documents are hidden for the read users because the documents are out of there time interval.
Hope this helps. Check both in folder > details > settings.

Is there a way to remove the menu bar from a secondary display while still using the very useful "Displays have separate spaces" mode?
The reason I ask is that most full-screen video playback in most applications, from iTunes to Flash/Silverlight plugins do not take up the full screen, instead leaving space for the menu bar (in the case of iTunes) or leaving the menu bar present on top of the video (for fullscreen Flash/Silverlight videos).
This is annoying for several reasons ranging from the obvious distraction factor to the fact that 1080p video is not played back at native resolution on a 1080p display.
If there is no way to disable this functionality while maintaining separate spaces, I would (humbly) suggest that a future update to Mavericks allow non-Lion-style* full-screen apps to take over the entire display.
*Lion-style full-screen apps are those that animate into a full-screen mode when the opposing-arrows full-screen button in the upper-right-hand corner of the window is pressed.

No. Turning that off reverts to the old display setup. You have one desktop spanned across all displays. The menu bar appears on the primary display only.

Add the NO-EXTENSION to your SELECT-OPTIONS will remove the arrow.
For more complex control off the SELECT-OPTIONS you can use FM: SELECT_OPTIONS_RESTRICT where you can almost completelly control the options.

Based on what you show it is likely that some other function (like the one before it as shown) has already removed the object. What you should do is learn to use the trace function to troubleshoot your code. In this case put in a trace anywhere you add or remove the same object that tells you whether it is added or removed and which line of code it is, realizing that you might be storing the same object with different references to it. That way you should be able to isolate where things are being removed when you don't expect them to be.

How can i remove the menu bar from my second display

How did the photos/albums get onto the phone ?
Only photos taken with the iPhone or saved from emails/websites etc can be deleted directly on the phone - either via the trashcan icon at the bottom right corner if viewing the photo in full screen, or via the icon of the box with the arrow coming out of it top right in thumbnail view. Albums that you've created directly on the phone can be deleted via the Edit button at the top right of the album selection screen.
Photos/albums that were synced from your computer are deleted by moving/removing/de-selecting them from where they were synced from on your computer and then re-syncing
