Removing calenders from the iphone!   (Extra calenders that is)

First, let me state that I created a couple of calenders on my mac account and decided when it came to trying to program dates on my iphone things got mixed up. So I went to just one calender and said forget about multiple calenders for publishing and all that.
1) I removed all the extra calenders from my mac account and ical calender on my desktop. I then noticed my iphone would not recorrect itself by removing the extra calenders. It doesn't even neccesarily update contacts quickly.
2) Go into settings>mail, contact, calenders>Under Accounts choose mail, contacts, calenders. Then turn off the calenders account. Click the stop syncing button. Back out and then go back in and turn on the button and then the sync button.
3) Go check the calender and see if it worked. It did for me. If not I maybe able to add one more thing to this that a tech had me do to iTunes before hand.

That list includes all the apps that you installed to your device directly from iTunes on the computer, or which were purchased on the iOS device and subsequently transferred to iTunes on the computer.
If you right click on any item in that list and choose "Show in Windows Explorer" it will open your iTunes application installer directory on your computer, which should be:
C:\Users\User\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Mobile Applications
In there are all your saved application installers (*.ipa files).  You need to delete those actual installer bundles and then make sure to NOT allow the "transfer purchased content" when you sync or backup in iTunes (as that will just put them back on your hard drive).
One caveat to removing those, is that if you ever wish to keep a specific release of a particular app, and the developer replaces the iTunes/App store version with something else, your sole source for your older version will be your own stored copy of it.  So for example, when PDF expert released their iOS 7 update, and charged everyone full price for it, if you wished to keep using the previous version on your own devices, then you needed to keep a copy of the installer on your own computer as that older version is no longer available in the store front.

  • HT4623 how do you remove podcasts from the iPhone menu?

I subscribed to a podcast on the iPhone, (from the iPhone itself) but now can't seem to remove it.  Any ideas?  There doesn't seem to be a way
to unsubscribe from the podcasts on the iPhone or from iTunes.
I have all the latest software.
    Thanks for any help.

Thanks - but there are no episodes of the podcast itself.  It is the tile from the store that is clogging up space.  The podcasts themselves can be deleted - that's easy - but the subscription tile cannot - even though I am not subscribed anymore.
The podcasts are not on my syncing computer's iTunes either, so can't be removed that way either.

  • How do I delete uninstalled Apps from the iPhone app list that is shown inside iTunes on my PC after sychronizaton?

To clarify and to not receive the answers of those who doesn't read more than 2 lines of a post: I am not asking how can I delete backups to free space in iCloud nor how to hide the purchase history!!! those things I already know...
to be clearer please let me explain what I mean by "list inside the iTunes of my PC". To access the list to which I am reffering you must take this steps:
    1) Connect the iPhone to the PC. This should open iTunes if not already opened and activate the synchronization between iPhone and PC.
    2) After syncronization and eventual backup in the iTunes window on the top right side it appears the tab "iPhone".
    3) Click said tab "iPhone" to see its content. In the top bar you can see 9 tabs: "Summary", "Info", "Apps", "Music", "Movies", "TV Shows", "Books", "Photos" and "On This iPhone".
    4) Click the 3rd tab, the one named "Apps", in this window on the left side you have the full list of the apps and on the right side you can see how these apps are arranged inside the device (inside home screens and folders).
I am referring to this particular list, the one on the left side of this page. See, I ricently run out of space in my iCloud so I decided tidy things up. I deleted all of the old backups both form iCloud and from PC and I hid all of the Apps that I no longer use from my purchase history.
now, the point is, every time I go to this particular list I can still find all of the apps, even those uninstalled from the device and removed from the purchase history...
In this list the apps that are still installed on my divece have got the "remove" button at its side and those which are not have got the "install" button... my point is that I went to great lengths to clean everything and still I can't seem to find a way to remove unwanted apps from this particular list...
I do suspect that it is because I have to restore some registry inside the iPhone itself... The point is that I don't want these apps to appear on this list anymore but I don't know how to clear it... Any help? Have I been clear?
    thanks

  • How to remove SANE from the list of scanners that are shared in Preferences

So I installed SANE for an old scanner, which is now replaced by a new Canon that is supported by native OSX and canon drivers. I therefore uninstalled SANE, the prefpane and all occurrences in the /Library and so on, however it is still being listed as an option in the scanners that can be shared i.e. in System Preferences>Sharing>Scanner sharing.
How do I go about removing this, any hints?
I also have this suspicion that this is the root of major issues I have accessing the scanner on my system some times, since I get "scanner communication errors" quite frequently, which are in turn resolved my plugging my scanner off and back on again...I did reinstall the software and drivers that came with the scanner to no avail.
    Thanks

Hey, I used wonder as well where the information was stored regarding the scanner sharing and I think I found a solution. Here's what I found. Download an application that can edit .plist files, such as Martin Bresink's "Prefedit" or "PlistEdit Pro".
Go to this location: ~/Library/Preferences/ByHost and find the file "com.apple.ImageCaptureExtension2.[xxxxxxxxxxxx].plist" where X's stands for your specific Ethernet/Airport Mac address.
Edit the file using the application mentioned and remove your scanner/device (SANE) from the Devices list (remove the device number, ie. 0 or 1 or 2, etc). Save the file. If unable to save, change permissions to own the file, save it, and reset the permissions.
That removed the shared scanner from my list of scanners in the sharing preference.
    Hope it works.

  • Removing Newsstand from the iPhone

    Hello,
I was wondering if someone had a solution to deleting the newsstand icon on the iPhone or at least moving it to the Utilities folder (out of site out of mind sort of thing). I mean there are a lot of people who would like to get rid of this, just search the Internet. There are also many suggested solutions to removing it, but none of them seem to work. It’s possible they did work at one point, but after iOS updates the solution no longer worked.
Anyway, I know as of right now there really isn’t a solution to do this, other than constantly moving it to the end of all your icons. I guess I don’t know why Apple insists on forcing this icon and not allowing for it to at least be moved in a folder with the other stuff. I was hoping that other people will read this and post a comment saying something along the lines that they too wish there was a solution. Maybe if this topic gets enough posts Apple will consider doing something with it.
    Thanks,
    Chris

I know it can't be deleted and that it is a native app that came with the phone, but why should it be kept if it is never used? Else, at least allow it to be part of the settings where you can turn it on and off when you want, like the Nike app that is a native app as well. If you go into the settings you can turn it on, it will then go on your desktop. You can also move it to another folder after it is on your desktop. If you don't want it, you can go into the OS settings and turn it off, it will then be removed again. They should do something like this for newsstand, allow it to be turned on or off if it isn't needed/wanted, or be moved to another folder such as utilities.

How do you remove photos from the iphone 4s ?

    Hi captoz379,
In order to delete music videos from an iPhone. Simply access the "Videos" application and swipe from right to left on the video that you are attempting to delete. The red 'delete' button should appear. Once it does, tap it to delete the selected video.
    I hope this helps.

All the photographs stored on my computer ended up getting put on my iPhone. How can I remove them from the iPhone?

Photos synced to your phone can only be removed from your phone the same way they got there, through the iTunes sync process. Connect your phone, iTunes running, & under the photos tab remove the checks for all albums/folders you do not want on your phone. Hit the apply/sync button & they will be removed from your phone.

  • Swagbucks keeps showing up even after I removed it from the Add-Ons.

I installed the Swagbucks Toolbar & it took over my iGoogle search engine for FireFox. Iwent to the Add-Ons & Extensions & removed the Swagbucks/Conduit Add-Ons BUT it is not really gone. Everytime I try to go to Goolge the Swagbucks web-site pops up. I NEED to know how to COMPLETELY remove Swagbucks from my FIreFox..??..
I would like to add that my iGoogle web-page will not show my Gadgets since the Swagbucks ha taken over.

I just figured this one out and it worked for Firefox 5.0. First, I removed everything from the extensions/add-ons that had to do with Swagbucks. Then, in the toolbar search bar itself, I used the drop down menu next to the Swagbucks logo and selected managed search engines; swagbucks; then selected remove. It seems to have worked, since I've restarted and it has not come back yet.

  • Remove iCloud from old iphone

How do I remove iCloud from the iPhone I gave to my sister?
    Thanks!

Have her erase the phone by going to Settings>General>Reset and tapping Erase All Content and Settings.  She will need the password for your iCloud ID in order to do this.  Or, you can do erase it remotely using Find My iPhone on icloud.com.  This will remove your account and allow her to set up the phone as a new iPhone.

If it's slow on startup it would be extensions loading or LaunchDaemons starting up.
You should have a look in:
    /Library/LaunchDaemons
    /Library/Extensions
You can count out anything in your home folder and it shouldn't put anything in /System as that's reserved for Apple.

    Hi asims01,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
The information below may be able to answer your questions about how to delete songs from your iPhone:
Deleting songs downloaded to your device
    Tap the Music app.
Tap More > Songs at the bottom.
Scroll or search for the song you would like to delete from your device.
Swipe right to left on the song, and then tap Delete.
Note: You must be in Artists, Songs, or Albums view to delete songs from your device. Deleting from a playlist won't remove a song from your iOS device.
Also, this information can be found on page 64 of the iPhone User Guide for iOS 7
    http://manuals.info.apple.com/MANUALS/1000/MA1565/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf
Remove a song from iPhone. Tap Songs, swipe the song, then tap Delete. The song is deleted from iPhone, but not from your iTunes library on your Mac or PC, or from iCloud.
If you have iOS 7, this will delete the song from local storage, but the song will still appear with a cloud symbol in the Music app, as you've noticed. To hide the iTunes in the Cloud purchases, navigate to Settings > iTunes & App Store, and disable "Show All: Music”
There may be a few orphaned songs on your iPhone that were partially downloaded or corrupted in some way. If that is the case, you can erase all of the music from your phone.  Follow the instructions below and select the Music app under Usage:
iPhone, iPad, and iPod: Understanding capacity

I hope this information helps ....

i have just switched to samsung and i have removed the sim from the iphone however i am still receiving texts rather 'imessage' on the old iphone. how do i make sure all messages only come to my new phone??

You can turn iMessage off on your iPhone.  That's relatively easy.  Since iMessage is an Apple product/service, I have no idea how a Samsung phone will deal with an incoming one.  For that answer you should probably contact Samsung support.

I want to put my sim card from my iPhone 4 into my husbands iPhone 4s, which he is not using.  We have both backed up our phones on to our own computers.  I don't want his contacts left on the phone while I use it.  How do I remove his info including music, photos etc from the iPhone 4s before I insert my own sim card.

You do realize that the SIM only contains account information for your wireless account.
Moving the SIM from phone to phone does not cause any of your iTunes content, contacts, email, etc to magically appear on the device.
