Removing Custom Ringtones

Hey. New poster :-)
Anyway, basically I wanted the old sounds (ie gungho, pro etc) on my curve 9320, so I installed a pack for them and it worked fine.
After that I noticed my battery drain was quite fast, so I reset them to the default. Now, I want to just remove the ringtones from my phone so I don't see them on my ringtone list
However, there's no option to delete them, anywhere. Please help.
I've even done a security wipe and it still kept them.
Also, since the wipe bbm messages won't display in the top notifications bar. They'll come up with the notification but when I open it it just says 'No new notifications'

Hi ImLuis,
Welcome to the Support Community!
When you did the security wipe, did you select User Installed Applications? If not, I would recommend trying this first. If this does not remove the ringtones, please try uninstalling the ringones using the BlackBerry® Desktop Software. This KB article provides the steps, only instead of selecting the "+" icon to install, please select the "-"icon to remove the ringtones.
"How to install an application on a BlackBerry smartphone using the BlackBerry Desktop Software" http://bbry.lv/N4Pm1K
Regarding the issue with your BBM™ notifications, if reinserting the battery doesn't help, I would suggest backing up your BBM™ contacts and removing then reinstalling the application and testing again.
Hope this helps.

  • Remove custom ringtones from itunes

I am using the latest itunes 11.01.12 version with my iphone 5. I have a number of custom ringtones which appear in the "Tones" section of itunes. I want to remove them completely (not just un-check and sync) and leave the page blank. I have tried all I could with no success.
    Please provide guidance!

If that doesn't help, this is what helped me. Get to the main starting page of itunes in "Albums" view. Looks like this:
-Then, in the left hand corner, tap the "Music" tab.
-The drop down menu will fall down, and then you will select the "Tones" button.
-And from that screen you will be able to delete, rename, & customize your tones anyway you like! =]
    Hopefully this helps!!

  • Syncing contacts on an iPhone removes custom ringtones for a contact

I kept noticing that my custom ringtones regularly vanished on my iPhone 3G. This article explains why:

This is a nuisance. Any idea when Apple will fix it?

Mine are usually fine - it's only when I do a sync history reset that I lose them

  • IPhone 3GS iOS 4.1 Update No Custom Ringtones

    Hi Everyone!
I just upgraded my iPhone 3GS to iOS 4.1 and now I can no longer set customized ringtones for individual users. At first, my phone had lost all my contacts (which are synced to an Exchange server). When I restored my contacts I noticed that I can no longer have custom ringtones for individual contacts. There's no option there any more. Just the number, a "notes" section. Anyone else have this problem?

For some reason in iOS 4.1 the option to add a ringtone was removed from the main view of an individual contact. Now the only way to assign one is via the Edit option, which I find to be a pain! I liked it in iOS 2.x and 3.x that you could quickly assign ringtones WITHOUT having to tap edit and scroll down.
Once the ringtone has been added, THEN it does show up and is changeable without having to tap Edit on the contact you assigned one too.
    Definitely a step backwards!
I would also love the ability (been asking since day one) to assign a ringtone to a GROUP of contacts. Such a pain doing them one by one and if you ever need to turn contact syncing off and on for MobileMe then you lose all your ringtone assignments.

  • IPhone 4 unable to show custom ringtones made in iTunes

I created a custom ringtone in iTunes so that I wouldn't have to buy the same ringtone that I already purchased in full. It shows up on my iPhone, but it isn't an option for a ringtone?

    Hi, lmeaux
Make sure you created ringtones are .m4r  format, if not, try this steps
Rename all .m4a episode files to be .m4r
Remove and re-add the files to the iTunes library
Sync with the iPhone now works

  • After iTunes/Yosemite updates, custom ringtones no longer available in Contacts on Mac but are on iPhone

After updating to Yosemite, my custom ringtones are no longer associated with particular contacts on my Mac. They seem to be in the right place in iTunes (ver. 12, updated at same time), and are still assigned to contacts on my iPhone (OS 8.1)--I haven't synched contacts, but I can't figure out how to get them re-assigned to specific contacts on the computer. when they're not there to be selected. These are a combination of purchased and GarageBand ringtones, and have been in use for years. Here's what I've tried:
In iTunes > Tones: Deselecting the ringtones, syncing (connected to mac). Then re-selcting and synching again. Ringtones are still visible on the iphone in Sounds, and in iTunes, but not available from within Contacts on the Mac.
Still in iTunes, used Get Info to identify where in Finder Tones are kept, which for me is: ~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music/Tones/. Copied all of them, moved the originals to the trash. (Did not empty.) Restarted. Didn't make a difference. I put everything back.
I have had this problem once before with an OS upgrade or new iPhone, I'm not sure which, but the de-selecting/selecting had worked. Not this time, however. My mistake may have been to update to Yosemite before updating my phone to OS8.1, but that's the way it was presented to me, and I didn't realize it would matter.  My preference is to sync my contacts. But this became de-selected during the update. (Other prefs changed, also, for example--I prefer local backup, and it defaulted to iCloud.)

regarding the ringtones, i was able to set custom ringtones myself, but ever since i did that i get errors when synching my phone in the form that some app's dont work, have any of you had this problem?

  • I have synced by I-phone to I-tunes to sync custom ringtones but they do not show up on I-Phone.  They are in the syncing que in I-tunes but not on phone.  Can someone help here.

I am having problems syncing the I-Phone ringtones from I-tunes to the I-Phone.  These are custom ringtones and they do show up in the I-tunes ringtones and syncing seems to work but they are not on the I-Phone?

    1. CC 2014 uses different folder for CEP extensions. If you installed both CC apps and CC 2014 apps, Extension Manager CC will install CEP extensoins to both "~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CEPServiceManager4/extensions" and "~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CEP/extensions". Please check if you can find your extensions in the latter folder.
    2. Flash based extensions are no longer supported by PS CC 2014. So if some of your extensions are Flash based, even if they are installed to the folder above, PS CC 2014 will not load them. You have to install their HTML based counterparts. Refer to

  • Custom Ringtones Show Up in iTunes Folder, but Not on iPhone

I've recently upgraded from a 3GS to a 4G. I have a few custom ringtones that I created from .MP3 files (converted to .m4r files). I had these same ringtones installed on my 3GS and want them on my 4G.
I transferred to my 4G by dragging them from the Windows folder to the iTunes device folder. The 5 ringtones show up in iTunes under the Ringtones folder. Only one of them shows up on the phone as being transferred.
I had done this a couple of days ago, and noticed then that only one ringtone was being shown under Custom Ringtones on my phone. Tonight, I uninstalled them all, rebooted my phone, and then re-dragged the files as per above. Again, all show up in the folder on the iPhone in iTunes, but one shows up on the phone. This is now a different one than a couple of days ago.
Soooo... what can be causing this? The files are apparently on my phone, but not appearing in the usable list. I need some help in resolving this. I've looked through these forums and seen similar issues. There doesn't seem to be a 'proper' way to do this. I manage my phone manually, and have not done a 'sync' with the ringtones as they show up in the folder... (I don't really see the need to sync if they're appearing in iTunes as on the phone).
    Thanks!

    Hi
having the same problem with my both devices.

my devices are iPhone 4 and using OS 4.21
during the sync i saw that the ringtones are added and they appear under the ringtone selection under the device info, however they do not appear on the device after sync.
    any help??
by the way, i have read all the previous messages and i cant find any ringtone folder under iTunes folder

  • How can I get a custom ringtone onto my phone?

    Phone type: Samsung Reality
Note: No texting plan; 25 MB Data Package, as required
Hi everyone! I got the Samsung Reality, and -sadly- the Data Package that is requiired to go with it. I don't have any texting plan, but I want to use a custom ringtone (from my computer). I know we can send a text message to ourselves using free websites such as Ventones, but that would mean i have to pay for the picture Text message because I have no texting plan.
Is there another way I can get custom ringtones onto my phone without sending a text message or downloading them from the APP? There are some korean ringtones I found online that I would like to use on my phone.
I was dissapointed that the songs I put onto my phone could not be used as my ringtone. Could I email myself with an attachment of the song file (usually 30~35 seconds long), and set it as my ringtone? Or is that virtually impossible (if its impossible to do it without texting, how much would a text message with a song attached to it cost me)? Any help would be appreciated!

Picture messages without a texting plan are 25 cents each.  Better than the $1.99 or $2.99 from the online store....
Attaching to an email would not work as mobile email does "do" attachments.
Sending to your online album will use text messages, I believe.  Better to use a micro SD card, save to the card, and transfer them to your computer that way.

  • One Custom Ringtone at a Time - That's all we get?

Has anyone successfully loaded more than ONE custom ringtone onto their iPhone and had success using the additional tones?
I bought three from iTunes and created one of my own. I'm only able to have ONE of these tones on the phone at any one time. If I load all four (or any subset) the correct NUMBER of files will appear, but they will all be the same.

I too had the same tone showing up where all the others should be but (thanks to the guy at apple support) fixed it.
First of all, you need to re-set your library as this is most likely the problem.. Follow the instructions on this link:
    http://www.info.apple.com/kbnum/n93313
If you have more than one folder then do the same with that one. You may end up with duplicate tunes but just clicka and hold down ctrl then delete to get rid of them. Note: make sure both copies play first!
Afterward, COMPLETELY restore your phone (as easy as clicking restore in itunes but): http://movies.apple.com/movies/us/apple/iphone/2007/tips/iphone-tip-resetiphone560x316.mov
DON'T set it up as a new phone after this, use backup option as this works fine.
Then buy/ make your ringtone (if you make them your self please be sure they are under 30 seconds long)then drag them into the ringtone library on itunes library ABOVE the phone NOT the phone one itself. Then, click on your phone device in itunes, go over to the ringtone tab (between info and music in the top middle of the screen) and then click selected ringtones and tick the ones you want and then press sync. You should have them all there now and you are done.
Good luck. It was a great guy in european apple support that helped me. Custom Ringtones are only supported in the USA right now and he had to leave me quickly but he solved my problem and didn't even know it. Hope this helps you all.

  • Only one custom ringtone at a time?

I've uploaded more than one custom ringtone at a time onto my phone, but it shows two of the same song and won't upload anymore. Anyone with a suggestion?

    Wordartist65
When you connect the iphone up to itunes, click on the iphone on the left side.
To the left of the name of the iphone on the left hand side of itunes, there is a triangle.
Click on that triangle and it will expand a menu down or up.
Click on the ringtones under the iphone and see if the ringtones show up as duplicate or different.
If the ringtones are different, then there is corrupted on the iphone that is not allowing it to read the ringtones correctly.
To fix this you will need to restore the iphone.
After the iphone has been restored an option will come up to restore from back up.
Do not restore from back up, set up as a new iphone.
The reason for this is if there was anything corrupted on the iphone that was not allowing the iphone to read the ringtones correctly, you do not want to put it back on the iphone.
here is an article from the apple support website that might help in the restore process.
