Removing date stamp from photos

Some of my old photos were imported into iphoto with a date stamp from the camera/ Is there any way to remove this before I print them?? I have iphoto v 7.1.5 THANKS!

1 - it is good to go through the iPhoto Tutorials - http://www.apple.com/findouthow/photos/#retouch
2 - after you take the tutorials just play with it - Command-z will go back one edit - photos menu ==> revert to original will remove all edits and "revert to the original"

  • Removing date stamps from photos

    Hi,
Can anyone please advise if there is a quick and easy way to remove the date stamp from photos.  My brother has a heap of great landscape shots he's taken over the years, however he has always had the date stamp set on his old camera - he knows better now and won't use it in the future. How do can he improve the quality of the photos he already has by removing the date?
    Cheers

    Use the magic extractor tool.

But you need to do the same for each of your single image.
No way to do for all in one go except for resizing the images in one go via File->Process Multiple Files to that much size which can remove date stamps.

  • Does anyone know how to remove the date stamp from photos?

I don't remember how I added the date ON the photos to begin with, and now I don't know how to remove them!

Try the Retouch tool in iPhoto. Otherwise you would need to use a 3rd party image editor, like Photoshop Elements that has a clone or healing tool to remove the date from the image.
This is what PSE can do but it might be a bit overkill for just doing dates.

Can I use Photoshop Elements 9 to remove the date stamp from photos? If so how?  If not what other software is available to do this?

Try the spot healing brush or the clone stamp tool.

  • How do I remove a stamp from favorites?

How do I remove a stamp from favorites? (Acrobat XI Standard)
I testing the Stamps in the Comment portion of Acrobat and I fid that when I select one it ends up as a Favorite.
If you have 2 or more you can remove 1 of them but if you only have 1 you can not remove it.
Is there a problem with me - - or the software?

It’s easy to remove the “Approved” stamp from the Favorites list on the Stamp pull-down menu in Acrobat.
    1) Go to: C\Program Files x86\Adobe\Acrobat10.0\Acrobat\plug_ins\Annotations\Stamps\ENU
    2) Copy the “StandardBusiness” PDF file.
    3) Paste the copy of the “StandardBusiness” PDFfile on your Desktop (this is a temporary location).
    4) Open the copy of the “StandardBusiness” PDF file from your Desktop.
    5) Delete Page 1 (the “Approved” stamp page).
    6) Save and close the copy of the“StandardBusiness” PDF file.
    7) Copy the “StandardBusiness” PDF file from your Desktop (the one you modified).
    8) Go to: C\Program Files x86\Adobe\Acrobat10.0\Acrobat\plug_ins\Annotations\Stamps\ENU
    9) DELETE the existing “StandardBusiness” PDF file from that folder.
    10) Paste the “StandardBusiness” PDF file you copied from your Desktop.
    11) Close Acrobat.
    12) Reopen Acrobat – the “Approved” stamp will begone from your Favorites list!
    13) By the way, the “Approved” stamp will, also, be gone.
    14) You can, then, DELETE the “StandardBusiness” PDF file from your Desktop.

  • Add 90s date stamp from "date created" to photos

    Hi
I'm about to order a photobook (christmas gift for some relatives). The book have nearly 300 pictures in it,
The pictures need to have dates. I could add a date manually for each picture but I havent really got time for it.
All photos have proper exif data, with date created info. Does anyone know how i can just destructivly stamp
this on to the photo itself? Bit of a odd problem, I don't think bridge/ps can do this with its default
functionality - but I know I have seen this feature somewhere sometime in some software product!
And yes I know date stamps look terrible, but most of the family photos arent exactly fine art to begin with :>
Any tips appreciated, it would be a huge time saver for me!

It can be done with a Photoshop Script that adda a text layer usinf the date in the EXIF. An example is my stampexif script. It adds a text layer which can be used within an action then the added text layer can be positioned and styled by the action. The script would be easy to change and format the text content to your likeing.

  • Removing date stamps placed on images by camera

When taking some photos with a Nikon digital camera, the button that places a date stamp on the image as the picture is taken was inadvertantly on.
Now I am trying to remove this data from the image and am wondering if anyone knows a fast way of doing this.
I can tediously remove the pixels involved but then can't seem to fill in the gaps with something else. The usual replace color capabilities don't seem to work either.
    What am I missing?
    Thank you.

You can use the Date Removal Tool - no, I am only kidding here.
Unfortunately, you have created an image with the date/time as part of your image. There is nothing "below" this. The best that you can do is try and recreate the area of the image that WOULD be below that part of the image.
As has been stated, the Clone Stamp Tool, and also the Healing Brush/Patch Tool will go a very long way. If one uses these at a high magnification, it does require some hand-work, and a good eye, but can be done.
For what it is worth, the video folk are broken into two camps. Half want to "remove" this, and half wants to "add" this, regardless of which camera they used. If only they could get together, and all would be happy.
Hints: look closely, so slowly and small, and be patient with your efforts.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • How do I add a date stamp to photos

How do I add a date stamp to photos

Make the Type tool active and enter the text.
If you have several photos that you want to add the date to, in full editor, go to File>Process multiple files.
In the dialog under "Labels", select "Watermark" from the drop-down, enter text/date in text box, then set up the other fields.
It's best to have the picture files in a source folder & have an empty destination folder to point to in the batch process. This will preclude overwriting the originals. Look at the top "Process Files From".

  • Can you change the date stamps on photos on iPad3?

When I add photos from my digital camera, any photos that have been edited on my camera show on my iPad with the wrong date even though on my camera the date stamp is correct. It's very strange, is there anyway to change the date of photos once on your iPad so that they show in the right album when viewing photos on the events tab. Thanks in advance for any reply x

I've posted this in another query of mine regarding keeping a separate bootpd log file. Two birds, one stone.
    syslog -u -E safe -k Sender bootpd -k Time ge -24h > DHCPday.log
    cat DHCP.log DHCPday.log> DHCPtemp.log
    cp DHCPtemp.log DHCP.log
The -u switch on syslog causes it to output the timestamp in UTC, thus it includes the year. By incorporating this script as a cron job, the server is now keeping a growing record of DHCP allocations with a full datetime stamp for later processing.

  • Remove data plan from family plan with basic phones?

Is there a way to remove a data plan from a family plan with just basic phones on it? We used to have a $20/month basic plan until we had to get a data plan for our son's iPhone. He no longer has the iPhone with Verizon and has removed his line from the plan because he has an Android with Sprint. We also were required to use the data plan because we at one point had one of those "Hotspot" devices as a temporary solution for at-home Internet until our DSL line could be fixed. As of now we no longer have the hotspot device or the iPhone, but we still have a data plan that is patently useless because all we have are basic phones. On the My Verizon Wireless website, it says that "your text and data are now bundled with your plan" or something to that effect. I don't want to be paying extra for a useless data plan that we don't need or want because we are not in the market for fancy smart phones or tablets any time soon.
Is there any way to unbundle or detach the data plan so that we no longer have one and just have the unlimited text and calling plan without data? Our daughter is fine with her EnV Touch from 2005 and us old folks are perfectly content with the basic flip phones. Is the EnV a data phone too, in which case we should get rid of the EnV Touch in favor of an even more "basic" basic phone? She's not much of a technology buff like her brother is and has even suggested getting rid of the "fancier" phone that she has for a basic flip phone. Are we stuck with the data plan unless we break everyone off from the family plan (it's just me, my husband, my daughter, and my sister for right now) and move everyone to pay-as-you-go or no-contract? Wouldn't that end up costing more in the long run? How can we get rid of this annoying and expensive data plan that nobody on our network even uses and is causing a headache of expense?

As I understand the plans now (and this could be wrong, they change so often I get confused!!) to have the "pay as you go" data, on the More Everything, you have 700 shared minutes.  To bump up to unlimited minutes, there is an attached data plan of 500 MB, and the total cost for 4 basic phones, unlimited minutes and text, 500 MB data, is $100/mo  ($20 for each basic phone line access, and $20 for the data).  The 700 shared minutes and pay as you go data is $85.
You can change your plan at any time.

  • Add/Remove data object from dataset

    Hello,
I was working out a way to add and remove data from a dataset
on the fly and could not figure out any built in methods to do
    this.
As I have decided to include spry in my project I like to try
and utilise as much as of its code as possible since it is
complicated to explain I have created a simple example – a
colour picker! (thought it might be more interesting…) of
what I am trying to achieve at
    http://www.freshfresh.co.uk/spry/
    - if you have a go on this and maybe look at the source code (all
the JS is embedded in HTML there are no modifications to other the
other core files). I have only used spry effects etc, including the
‘accordion’ – which I have become quite attached
to, it is really good for condensing pages down.
You will see I am using the setDataFromDoc method to create
the dataset – I tried the .data = myArrayOfData; .dataHash =
hashTable; method i.e. creating from an object rather than array
but it did’nt seem to play ball with the
addDataChangedObserver method – it did’nt update itself
each time it was modified (I am sorry I cannot remember exactly
what I did – but I tried all kinds of ways…). I stuck
with the string method because it worked - each time my new dataset
changed it updated itself on the screen (you will have to have a
look to understand.....sorry!!), but I would be interested to know
how such a thing could be implemented using the object route if you
believe this would be more efficient.
My second question is more simple – is there a shorter
way to add and remove a data object from a dataset? – as you
can see from the source code I have effectively created an
    ‘interface’ to do these tasks…. I could’nt
work out whether these methods are already built in. Maybe they
    are?
Third question is… to extract a data object from a
dataset I use the .dataHash[the_row_id] method – is this the
right thing to do or could it lead to complications… that is
using methods that might supposedly be private?
Fourth question (observation really) – whilst creating
that colour picker example I went over board with my datasets and
loaded in several palettes some of which had over 1000 elements or
data objects. Which inevitably was very slow (on my computer
anyway) – but it got me thinking about trimming the contents
of my spry regions for better performance. I am I right in thinking
that the less HTML etc that there is in a spry region the quicker
SPRY will process it. For example say you had spry repeat with an
image tag in with some onclick, onmousover, onmouseout, style
attributes etc and compare this to a spry repeat with a simple
image with minimal attributes set. I suppose what I am trying to
say is – does spry ‘store’ all the contents of
each spry region somewhere? Or does it just process it and leave it
    to the browser dom?
Fifth observation.... I find it really difficult to explain
computer technicalities in writing. It must be tough reading these
posts.... I know I find it difficult sometimes when dealing with
    written end user feedback!
    Andrew

Just clarifying my questions a bit further....
I found some old code regarding question 1 by using the
object method I mean something like this...
    var mySwatches = [{'@hex':'ff0000'},{'@hex':'00ff00'}];
    var hashTable = [];
    function createDs(){
    for (var i = 0; i < mySwatches.length; i++)
    mySwatches
    .ds_RowID = i;
    hashTable = mySwatches
    dsMySwatches.data = mySwatches;
    dsMySwatches.dataHash = hashTable;
    dsMySwatches.loadData();
i.e. not writing out a whole XML string string as the online
example does. When using this way I did'nt seem to be able to get
the HTML to refresh. I tried using [
    Spry.Data.updateRegion('mydata'); ] after recreating the dataset I
also tried adding an [ .addDataChangedObserver ] (like in the
string example) amongst numerous other ways but it just would not
work like the string way. - Maybe I did something wrong somewhere.
In question 3 I refer to the [ .hash ] method .... its not a
'method' its a 'property' - my question should read - is it ok to
access private properties (from a browser campatiblity/security
point of view) that do not have specific methods to gain access to
them. I suppose it does'nt really matter with JS...
In question 4 I mention minimising the amount of code in a
spry region to speed it up. A clearer example of this might be for
example - a gallery with lots of images. As we know there will be a
slight delay as SPRY writes all the html so to speed up that intial
write I strip out all the image attributes such as onlclick do
this, onmouse over do that... and add these after the images have
loaded using a seperate function similar to my
fillSwatches(ds,prefix) function in my online colorpicker example.
I suppose it like a 2 tier processing of all the data. SPRY does
the intial display writing to get everything in place and then
another pass is made over to add any further functionality
adjustments etc. I am still not sure if that makes any sense!
    ***edit
Also on the subject of speed and the application as a whole
i.e. including my PHP - In one example I was creating I ended up
with an XML structure where each node has over 14 attributes i.e.
    <somenode att1=”x” ……..
att14=”z”/> - as the file grew it obviously took
longer to process particularly on the server side, i.e. added all
those attributes just slowed it all down. So I did
    this…… <somenode att1=”x:y:z” /> i.e
condensed selected attributes into a string that I could explode
    later on.
Obviously this limits SPRYS ability to access the attributes
using the {attr} syntax. I had to create a function to explode the
array and do the ‘necessary’ on a second pass over the
data – this works ok for me. But its interesting that in this
particular case the server could not refresh the XML in an
acceptable time without doing this – just thought that might
be interesting to you. I suppose technically what I am doing is
abusing the concept of an XML structure and simply using it as a
‘carrier’ to feed my application …. Which I
suppose is where JSON comes in…. which is a bit more compact
and maybe faster to manipulate on both the server and client side
    – I don’t really know, I have never used it –
    just throwing ideas around!!

  • Date stamp from mDV camera not visible on viewer  , nor recorded.

Though the data code is pressed till the date and time stamp is visible on the camera Display,
it is not received by final cut pro.
For some projects they want some time and date stamped , sequences.
    Can anything be done ?

Date stamp data is not something read by FCP ... try iMovie,
Alternatively, check the camera's output options, it may be possible to output the data burnt-in on the s-video or some such ... if you have the requisite i/o hardware you could then digitize from that signal path

  • Remove time stamp from date

    hi guys
Had start date and end date as prompt in webi report and showing same date value in report header using UserResponse function but it is showing time with date, and in report both columns are showing in dd/mm/yyyy format, have tried using FormatDate(UserResponse("Start Date:"); "dd mmm yyyy"), it is giving an error
" The expression/sub-expression uses an invalid data type"
please tell me what is wrong in the formula
    thanks & regards

    Hi,
It is creating an #ERROR when the format you assign to the ToDate function does not match the date in the string.
E.g. if you have a user response like '1/1/1998 12:00:00AM' you could use the formula:
    =FormatDate(ToDate(Left(UserResponse("prompt");8);"M/d/yyyy");"dd MMM yyyy")
to get a result as: 01 JAN 1998
However this fails when the date changes to 10/1/1998 or 1/10/1998 or 10/10/1998. In those cases the format of the ToDate function should be: "MM/d/yyyy" or "M/dd/yyyy" or "MM/dd/yyyy".
I know it's a lot of work, but the best solution is to create variables for month, day and year:
    1. variable for month v_month
    =Left([prompt_date];Pos([prompt_date];"/")-1)
    2. we need to get rid of the first part of the string to find the second '/' so we create a dummy variable dummy1
    =Right([prompt_date];Length([prompt_date])-(Length([v_month])+1))
    3. variable for day v_day
    =Left([dummy1];Pos([dummy1];"/")-1)
    4. create a second dummy variable dummy 2 to get rid of the day part of the string
    ==Right([dummy1];Length([dummy1])-(Length([v_day])+1))
    5. variable for year v_year
    =Left([dummy2];4)
Just assuming that the year is always 4 positions in the prompt string.
Now you can create your variable for displaying the date in the format you want:
    ==FormatDate(ToDate(FormatNumber(ToNumber([v_month]);"00")+FormatNumber(ToNumber([v_day]);"00")+FormatNumber(ToNumber([v_year]);"0000");"MMddyyyy");"dd MMM yyyy")
Note: I was just assuming that your date format is always month/day/year. If the format is different then you need to change the variables accordingly.
    Hope this helps
    Harry
