seems that th monolingual utility cleaned out the dictionaries used Mail and others
found in (could be my fault in selecting the languages to be removed).
    In /System/Library/Services/AppleSpell.service/Contents/Resources/
I found only English.lproj (with obviouly only the english dictionary)
I just copied the missing files (here for Italian) from a clean installation that I did on an external disk.
    e.g. copy
    /Volumes/myexternalDisk/System/Library/Services/AppleSpell.service/Contents/Reso urces/Italian.lproj
    to
    /System/Library/Services/AppleSpell.service/Contents/Resources/Italian.lproj
reboot made then my spelling checker work again (for Italian)
I am just wondering if there is an easier way to do this especially if you don't have a "spare" installation?

You can do a custom install of some features from the installer disk rather than a full install. You can also use the Pacifist utility to open up the installer disk and select individual items, kind of like you did with the spare install but without having to go that far.

On my Nokia 5230 I'm using the Nokia e-mail client: http://store.ovi.com/content/8794 . This works fine for me. Yesterday I encountered a little proplem which I cannot resolve so far. I want to remove an e-mail account from my account list and I cannot find a option to do that. Within the menu I can find an option where I can change the settings for the different e-mail accounts, but there is no menu option "remove account". If someone knows a solution please feel free to share it with me.

How does one remove temporary files from Safari?  A friend logged on to her Facebook account using my iMac running Mac OSX 10.7.5 and Safari 6.1.6.  Now I can't remove her e-mail address from my computer.  When I open Facebook her address shows in the user button.  I do not have a Facebook account.  It was suggested to me that I try clearing temporary files from Safari but I can't find anything that tells me how to do this.  Are temporary files the same as the cache?  It also was suggested that I try clearing Safari cache.  How do I do that?

Check Safari/Preferences/Passwords to see if the Facebook account is there. If so, select it and remove it. If you are still having problems, Safari/Preferences/Advanced - enable the Develop menu, then go there and Empty Caches. Quit/reopen Safari and test. If that doesn't work, Safari/Reset Safari.

Can anyone tell me how I can remove my e mail address from my i mail, was notified by friends that everytime I i mail them my full e mail address shows instead of my name as usual?????
    Hope somebody can help

Perhaps I don't understand your question.  Above you mention "i mail"; I'm assuming you meant "iMessage".  If that is want you meant, then have you turned iMessage to On in Settings>Messages?  And if so, does it say anything just below the iMessage On/Off button (such as "waiting for activation")?

Stock iOS apps can not be removed. You can add them to a folder and move them to another page.

  • Why does "remove attachments" in Mail now remove entire e-mail?

This is just one of numerous problems with Lion after installing it on MacBook Pro.  Every time I choose "remove attachments" in Mail, it deletes the entire e-mail and I can't bring it back.  Additionally:
    1.     I-Cal entries take forever (delayed entry) and assume I have an all-day event so I now have to enter the event and then open and edit it - additional steps.
    2.     Airport (Wi-Fi) now shuts off without warning and cannot, under any circumstances, be restarted from any of the several screens and buttons that supposedly offer that option.  Therefore, when I switch from Wi-Fi to Ethernet and then back, I have to do a restart.
    3.     The Address Book now has a stylistic but non-functional interface that requires several additional steps to look at anything and there is no longer an option in Mail to "Open in Address Book" without first opening the v-card, once again complicating my life.
    4.     The removal of arows on scroll bars means that I can no longer gradually look at a large file line by line but, rather, have to use the trackpad (which is also jumpy) try to focus in on the area I want by trila and error.  I hate the trackpad for these reasons and now that I have lost the arrows, I have essentially the same problem with the mouse - very cumbersome for anyone doing production type work, rather than just playing.
    5.     My Carbonite no longer works and I see there are compatibility issues with all kinds of other software.  Worse some of my favorite old programs (e.g. Fetch) no longer work in Lion.
    6.     The conversation function in Mail now groups things I don't want grouped (e.g., totally unconnected e-mails with the same words in the subject).  I had to turn that off for this reason.
Overall, Lion is a huge disappointment.  It's all bells and whistles with actual losses in functionality for basic work - style over substance.  This is the same thing I've seen happen with Microsoft Excel as basic issues that needed addressing have been ignored while all sorts of pretty stuff that is pretty much useless has been added.
Even more frustrating is the message I got from Apple Support, which was to re-nstall Lion.  That took 6 hours and resulted in not one correction of any of these issues.  What has Apple done?  This OS was not ready for primetime.

The "feature" I experience is that the message disappears, just as shown in Herbert's video (good work), and that it comes back after a quick mailbox switch. It has nothing to do with message sorting or anything. All my Mail settings are the same as in Mail 4.x, and everything worked fine there. Must be a bug in Mail 5. (Yes, I have reported it.)
The "explanation" that Mail creates a copy without the attachment, instead of keeping the old message without the attachment, doesn't really solve the problem. (Sorry for my extensive use of smileys, it's not my style but sometimes convenient.) The copy should come up without the mailbox switch either way.
    Edit: spelling.

  • Remove an E-mail

I just purchased an Nokia E71 and downloaded my e-mail on to it.  But for some reason I have two e-mails that show on my home page.  One is Centurytel01 & the other is just Centurytel.  They both have all the same messages except Centurytel01 is harder to use and takes longer as you have to update it everytime you want to use it.  Also even though I go through the steps of deleting e-mails they remain.  I thought I had figured out how to remove a e-mail but when I go to the Nokia Messaging page it does not show Centurytel01 only Centurytel.  I really want this removed from my phone it is annoying.  The Centurytel e-mail is alot faster and more colorful, and easier to use.  They both have completly different looks to them.  Centurytel01 looks like my text messages just a black and white screen.
    I would appreciate any help.

I am talking about an e-mail account, not e-mail messages.

  • How do I remove and reinstall Mail under iOS?

My Mail program with both my iPad 2 and my iPhone 4S keeps growing constantly in size. My iPad Mail is now at 1.7 GB. ALL messages are deleted, trash is deleted, etc. The program just isn't reclaiming storage after deletions.
I filed a bug with Apple as an Apple Developer but, after about 3 weeks, I got a message from Apple indicating that the bug had been removed because it was a duplicate. In other words, other people also have this problem (it is possible that ALL people may not have it).
Two upgrades ago, my iPad had to totally re-install from scratch (something went wrong with the upgrade). The Mail program went back to about 50 MB. As mentioned, it has now grown back to 1.7 GB (on iPad 2, only 1.4 GB on my iPhone). At this size, it is taking a significant amount of my RAM -- it was probably the reason the upgrade failed two times ago (not enough free RAM).
I need to remove my mail program and reinstall it -- or even completely refresh my iPhone/iPad.  I keep hoping Apple will fix the problem but 7.1.2 still hasn't fixed it.
How do I remove and reinstall Mail (or -- at the worst -- refresh the entire iOS device (using backups from iCloud for important settings)?
Thank you. It will probably be up to 2+ GB by the end of July.

You may a bit mixed up in your terms.
RAM in an iPad/iPhone is like the RAM in your computer. It's used to run the operating system and open apps.
On the other hand, your storage space (16GB, 32GB, etc) is like the capacity of your computer's hard drive.
If you are short of storage space, look at these links.

    http://www.igeeksblog.com/how-to-remove-other-data-from-iphone/
With an iOS device, the “Other” space in iTunes is used to store things like documents, settings, caches, and a few other important items. If you sync lots of documents to apps like GoodReader, DropCopy, or anything else that reads external files, your storage use can skyrocket. With iOS 5/6/7, you can see exactly which applications are taking up the most space. Just head to Settings > General > Usage, and tap the button labeled Show All Apps. The storage section will show you the app and how much storage space it is taking up. Tap on the app name to get a description of the additional storage space being used by the app’s documents and data. You can remove the storage-hogging application and all of its data directly from this screen, or manually remove the data by opening the app. Some applications, especially those designed by Apple, will allow you to remove stored data by swiping from left to right on the item to reveal a Delete button.

I don't think you can remove your email.  If you are concerned about privacy make sure you have it set so that you are the only one who can view it. You do this under the privacy settings under Your Stuff - Profile  " If you want to change your email you can go here to make changes.
