  • Removing email from server issue

I have a new iMac and I am having problems with email (settings).
I have the iMac and macbook both running yosemite and both have/share the main email account. the macbook email has the setting to remove email from server, but the iMac doesn't. When I use the remove now on the macbook to clear it off the server, it deletes them from my iMac (just inbox not junk)? I though once they are on the iMac they would be here, and the remove would just remove them from the host mail server?
I'd like to be able to control the removal from the iMac (not macbook). Anybody else had this issue, and how can I get the settings to appear on my iMac mail pref window to control it there?

The problem is that the POP3 client does not issue a DELE command to remove the email from the server.

  • I have an iPhone 4 and I am wondering how I remove emails from the "All Mail" .  I have over 8,000 emails and want to free up storage but it will take forever to delete them 1 at a time!  Help!

Is there a way to remove emails from the Exchange Account "All Mail"?  I have over 8 thousand emails and want to clear them out.  It looks as though I have to delete them one by one!

Since it's an Exchange account, it sounds like the way to do this would be to remove them using a computer.

  • DEAD IN THE WATER--Can't remove email from server-can't receive new emails

I stopped receiving emails this morning upon startup, steps taken:
    restarted mail
    rebooted
    backed up all inboxes
searched how to see message on server, found them and and can see one that says:
From: unknown sender Subject: No subject Date Recd: Today Time is always the current time.
I read a very old post from David Gimeno Gost who said:
"You may tell Mail to remove from the server all the messages that have already been downloaded by means of Preferences > Accounts > Advanced > Remove now. Alternatively, you may use the Account Info window to remove specific messages from the server. And if the account allows web access, you may also remove messages from the server that way.
Try removing from the server messages that have already been downloaded and/or the first message not downloaded yet (i.e. the message that Mail appears to be choking on)."
I can't remove it from the server either by itself or grouped with other messages. Interestingly enough, I can receive emails on my iPhone and I changed my email address in my Apple info and received the verification email, but still nothing else that's sitting on the server.
Went into my email account through Webmail to delete it and can see all emails except that one
opened Mail on my mac mini, I couldn't receive email there for my email inbox, however I was able to receive email in my employees inbox on the same server but different email address.
Is this a Charter issue or a Mail issue. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
    Thanks Renee

I finally figured it out. The server had to be refreshed by calling my hosting service. 9 hours of diagnosis and a 2 minute fix.
Hope that will help someone else:)

  • Removing email from i phone but not on your work computer

when i delete email from my i phone it also removes from my work desktop
is there a setting to prevent this problem
    thanks
    tick

Not with an Exchange or IMAP account. All server stored mailboxes with an Exchange or IMAP account are kept synchronized with the server with each email client used to access the account.

  • Removing email from iPhone without removing it from Mobile me server

I currently have an iPhone and several email accounts on different servers. All these accounts give me to option to remove mail from my iPhone without removing them from the server. With Mobile me there is no option available to do this that I've been able to to locate on my iPhone. Does anyone know how to prevent the emails pushed to my iphone not being removed from the server when I delete them from my iPhone? Thanks.

Mobile Me uses the IMAP protocol.
This allows the iPhone + Server + all other PC/Macs you have your account on to remain in sync. Delete an email, it affects all devices with account, read email, read on all devices with account. Etc. Etc.
This is normal for any IMAP based account. POP are the accounts that will not keep things up to date or the same.
By any chance are all the other accounts actually POP? or are they also using IMAP?
Typically you may find a default global settings in Settings - Mail, Contacts, Calenders - On that screen might be some deletion options.

  • Batch Remove emails from Apple Address Book

    Hi everyone,
I have a csv file contained all the email addresses that were bounced, all originating from my Address Book. This bounce file was obtained using another software (Email Bounce Handler by Maxprog).
I was now wondering if there was any way to automatize the removal of these email addresses from my Address Book, with an Apple script or any kind of extension.
Thanks in advance for your attention and your help.
    Cheers,
    Colin

Oops -- I just had to turn iCloud on in the System settings on the iPhone, then the Contacts synched.

    A bit off-topic... but still:
Why dont you try Oracle Database 10g Express edition?

Its the closest thing to PostgressSQL that Oracle has to offer...

  • Can't remove email from icloud

I have updated my account information on my apple id and deleted an alternate email address replacing it with a new one. I've saved the changes but when I go onto my ipad 4 or iPhone 5 in settings, icloud account information the old email still remains in the advanced section which can't be edited. I've turned off phone and restarted and done a backup just to see if this made any difference, I even signed out and back in but nothing updates the details. I need to remove this email as it was a joint one with an ex :0(. Has anyone got any ideas how I might fix this. Cheers

Did you created your NEW Apple ID or just change the alternate email? You have to create your own Apple ID based on your email.

  • Transfer Data from BB Pearl 8130 to Curve 8530..Need help!

I have tried several times to transfer my data from one phone to the other thru the device switch wizard but having no luck in completing the transfer.  I have the newest version of desktop manager....I am able to select which phone to transfer from and which to transfer to and it starts to copy the files, but before the transfer is complete I get a message saying fatal error-files not transferred.  I have noticed that part way thru the transfer my newer phone (Curve 8530) shuts off (I'm guessing this is why data isn't transferring) so I tried keeping both phones off during the transfer, but still no luck.  The curve keeps "rebooting" during the transfer (whether it's on or off).  Any clues on what to do?  Please help!

Are you trying to move 3rd party apps over, as well?  If so, try deselecting 3rd party apps for transfer.  You don't want the 8130 versions on your 8530 anyway.
