Removing green screen from a video sequence in PS

How can I remove the green screen from a video sequence in Photoshop?

There's a bunch of tutorials for editing video with Photoshop on Adobe TV
http://tv.adobe.com/watch/photoshop-for-video/chroma-keying-backdrops/
I am not sure if the above link is going to help you though.  Is this footage you shot yourself?  If so what sort of camera, and how was the BG lit?  I ask as chroma keying can be tricky to get right, and I understand that DSLR footage is far from ideal for chroma key for instance.  I use a Canon XF300 which records with a 50mb/s 4:2:2 codec, which works well for chroma key.

  • Removing green background from videos (Chromakeying)

    Hi,
I am currently trying to use JMF to remove green background from the videos I have recorded. I am trying to merge 2 videos ( 1 video in the background) and (this video w/green bacground removed in the foreground). Does merge.java from JMF do the job for the second part? Please help!!

Merging works only with one video sitting on top of another, but the top video positioned on the top left corner. Is there some way to have the top video positioned in the center? I am using the merge.java file from the JMF solutions. Any way to remove the green/blue background of a video using Java codes? Or is there a freeware tool to do so and then have the java program call it?

Are you using a MacBook Pro model with dual display cards? (I.e., check your profiller.) If so, Snow Leopard and Lion users have indicated that switching from "Battery Saver" to "Performace" mode in the System Preferences "Energy Saver" window fixed this problem. Not sure if this also works for Leopard systems but it might be worth looking at.

  • How to remove red eye from you video with adobe premiere elements?

I would be greatful if someone could let me know how to remove red eye from a video, which I will be using for my acting reel. Thank you!

    Ang.Fel
What version of Premiere Elements do you have and on what computer operating system is it running?
Do you have an integrated set of Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements (such as 10/10, 11/11)?
How long is this person with the red eye viewed?
There are two possibilities that I can think of, but I would have to work it through with the actual footage and adapt accordingly.
    1. Keying and color correction.
    2. In Premiere Elements, do a freeze frame (in Freeze Frame dialog, Edit in Photoshop Elements after Insertion + Insert in Movie Option + adjustment of duration of the Freeze Frame bmp).
In Photoshop Elements, Red Eye Tool if possible or other color correction tool there.
How did you ever get red eye in video?

  • How do you remove EXIF data from a video shot on an iPhone5s?

I'm trying to remove location metadata from a video of my daughter before posting to YouTube and can't figure it out.  I tried opening the video in Adobe Premiere and Bridge and both don't display the location data for some reason, they fields are just blank.  But I can see the locaction data if opened in Quicktime or iPhoto, but neither program allows you to edit the EXIF data for some reason.  And any app I find seems to only work on photos and not videos.  Any thoughts?  I'd love to upload this video without revealing our exact location.  Thanks.

  • Does anyone know which software can remove a logo from a video as well as subtitle in it. Thanks

Does anyone know which software can remove a logo from a video as well as subtitle in it. Thanks

Watermarking like this cannot be easily removed (which is the entire point of including a watermark). You would probably have to go through the video frame by frame, editing out the watermark and subtitles by hand, and then it would take a lot of work to try and reconstruct the background to not just leave a blank spot. It's not worth the effort unless you wanted to use such a video professionally, and then you would need a licence after obtaining of which you probably could obtain the original footage without the watermark.
If you really want to explore this, though, see:

  • Green Screen on all videos

MY Desktop is a XPS 8100 with Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium. Recently all the videos I tried to watch through the news, YouTube, Hulu, etc., show a green screen. There is sound but no video except for a green screen. I did go into the Flash settings (version 17.0.0134) and under Display unchecked "Enable hardware acceleration." I did a refresh of IE and this allowed me to watch videos. I am unsure what caused this change to the green screen.  Anyone have any ideas or have a recent problem with the green screens while watching videos.

5450 is a directx 11 based card. This means you don't need the legacy driver.
Directx june 2010 and the DOTNET 4.0 installer are still required.
You download the Directx patch and extract to a folder then run DXSETUP.EXE as administrator.
AMD Catalyst Control Center requires Microsoft .NET4 Framework. Windows Vista and Windows 7 users may need to install the Microsoft .NET4 Framework as a prerequisite to use Catalyst Control Center.

You are correct there is a 32 bit and a 64 bit version of the driver.
Since you have a 5450 you can use the AMD Catalyst™ Omega driver version. Use the 14.XX WHQL version not the 15.XX Beta version.

  • Remove Green Screen with Adobe Photoshop Elements

    Hi,
I have setup a Green Screen in my home. I took some pictures of my wife with the Green Screen Background and want to remove the Green Screen and replace with a different background. I was able to do this via the Adobe Premiere Elements 7.0 but need help with the Photoshop Elements.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Sridhar

FWIW, She is really easy to select on that green screen if you use a few tricks. The screen shots are in CS3 my preference but worked with Elements limitations to show you how easy she can be selected without any filters.
My end product doesn't look as good as Mark's though. That's a tough act to follow. Thought I'd post this anyway just in case you couldn't get that filter to work in Photoshop Elements 7,
First, make a copy of the image and desaturate it to make it black and white. I prefer using Hue/Saturation from the image menu (CTRL U) and moving desat slider down to -100. Next Invert it (CTRL I), then run levels from the image menu (CTRL L) to push the image towards pure white and black...well close. It should look something like this when these steps are done.
Copy this image to a new layer. (Just in case something goes wrong so you don't have to repeat the last steps). Leave the copy in Normal blend mode. Grab your paint brush tool. Set the brush tool's mode to Overlay blend mode. You will use black and white paint to push dark gray to black and light gray to white. When done, it should look something like this:
Not perfect...I did this really fast and was a bit sloppy and didn't get all of my light grays pushed to whites. Probably not a problem for the hair edges but would need to be fixed for face and body areas as this will be a mask to make the selection.
Select mask that was just made and copy it into your clipboard. Select<All; Edit<Copy. Create and adustment layer mask that has a mask. I used the Solid Color Fill Adjustment layer. Alt click the mask of the adjustment layer you created. It will turn the document white. This is because the mask is now the focus. Now paste. Edit<Paste. This will paste the above mask into the adjustment layer mask. Now, either alt click the mask or click on another layer to remove the focus from the mask. You'll use this adjustment layer as a base to a clipping mask. See next paragraph.
The Solid color fill layer (or whatever you picked) with your mask is going to be the base on which your selection will be built. Create a copy of your original image up above this base layer. Now, hold in the alt key and move your curser in the layers pallete to the line separating these two layers. Notice the cursor changes to an odd symbol...a solid ring and a hollow ring with an arrow. Click the palette on the line separating these two layers. (Release alt key when done.) She should now be covering the mask you created. Areas that are white in the adjustment layer mask will show the original image; areas in black in the adjustment layer mask will be transparent. (Areas that contain shades of gray would be semi-transparent...amount based on the gray's brightness value.)
For the green cast on the edges, I removed that by using a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer to remove the green spill over. If you only wanted to effect the girl and not a new background add it to clipping mask. (Same way...alt click the line between her image and the Hue/Saturation layer.)
Not perfect but this is what I came up with based on the above mask:

  • Imovie 9 green screen -- audio and video editing problems

I seem to have discovered that once you add a video (the "front" part) to a background using green screen, you can no longer do certain edits on the front part's audio or video.
I tried to do a manual audio fade on a certain clip, and it didn't work.   Now I am trying to bring the entire audio for a certain clip down to zero, and even though the little speaker icon shows no sound waves, normal 100% sound is coming from the clip.
Likewise with the video.  I tried to do a Split Clip on the front part and it simply didn't work.
Anybody have some words of wisdom?  Thanks.

Thanks for the suggestion Brad, that makes sense... However, I was hoping there was a "straight" iMovie solution.
I'd prefer to not have to 1) spend any money and 2) use a program to do something iMovie is already supposed to do.

  • Adobe flash player green screen when playing videos

    Hello,
I get this green screen when I play videos on my IE9 browser on a Win 7 (64-bit) desktop computer. This green screen appears when playing a video which uses the Adobe flash player (version 11.5.502.146) but happens only after the an initial portion of the video (entire video is loaded already) is played and the rest of the video is green screen and is played at accelerated rates, as if it was being fast forwarded. The audio from the video is also affected as it plays static of different frequencies.
The videos I've been watching are from http://xin.msn.com/ and http://www.youtube.com/. I've also tried to solve this with disabling hardware acceleration from the flash player's menu, and uninstalling and reinstalling and then rebooting the computer, both of which are different attempts which did not resolve the issue.
Help to fix this issue on hand will be greatly appreciated.
    Many thanks

Please try the solution outlined in the post below and let us know how it works for you.

  • Green Screen on Keynote video clips

    Hello,
This is my first post to Apple Discussions.
I have a Keynote 3.0 presentation which I have downloaded repeatedly from my organization's server as a zip file. The presentation is very large (over 250 slides and six to eight video clips) totalling 627 MB of file space.
My new MacBook (2.0 GHz Core 2 Duo, 1 GB RAM) never ran all the clips, but now doesn't run any. Actually it runs, as I can sometimes get audio, but I only get a ghostly radioactive-green screen color where the video image should be.
Other people on this forum have complained of the MacBook graphics, and how the VRAM can't be adjusted. Do this have something to do with my problem?
Are there any solutions or is all lost!
    Thank you in advance.

I'd ask if those videos are Mpeg1 movies as in the past there have been issues with mpeg1's showing up with green all over them.
Also, what version of K3 are you running, and what version of QuickTime? If they're both updated to the newest, than I have no idea what's going on.
