Removing grey-and-white grid background?

Hey ,
I installed Acrobat 9 Pro, version 9.4.1, one week ago. Since then, in every opened pdf-document appers an grey-and-white-grid-background (see figure below).  Normally, I would expect a white background, which I get under this setting only, if I change the background manually to white. How can I change this setting, to get the normally white background as a default? Support is warmly welcome - training_needed

Thank you very much - this makes reading much easier! - training-needed

  • Preview PDF has a black and white checked background

    Hi All.
I am trying to look at a map in pdf format which when opened in Preview has a grey and white checked background behind the black lines. this makes it impossible to read. i realize that I can open this in Acrobat Reader I guess but does anyone know what this is called and why it is there or how to get rid of it/
i realize it has something to do with layers or transparency but is there a good way to get a solid black or white background behind a pdf such as this in Preview?
    Thanks for any advice.

When that student logs on go to the Universal Access preference pane and make sure the display setting is set to black on white, then go to the Displays preference pane and make sure it is set to millions of colors.
Those are the only things I can think of off hand that may be causing the issue.

  • Background of grey and white boxes

Whenever I open a pdf file with Adobe Reader XI, the file opens with a background of little grey and white boxes.  These boxes make it very difficult to read the content. My question is "how can I eliminate this?" or "how do I open a PDF file with a pure white background?"
    I have tried everything.
    Thank you

    Hi Beth
How big are  these fields? Are they for entering text or just check boxes?
I have found that sometimes FormWizard is not compatible with some Quark files.
Sounds like it might be easier for you to do the fields manually.
First draw the field like you want it and set that as the default then you can choose to paste multiple fields.
Also if you want to use a line for FormWizard you can make the background of the field white and cover the line with it.

  • When I turned on my ipad the screen is scrolling grey and white veritcal lines. I can't power it off. How can I fix this?

When I turned on my ipad the screen is scrolling grey and white veritcal lines. I turned on the ipad and plugged it up, when I touched the button on the bottom, it flashed as if the screen was coming up, but instead it scrolled grey and white lines, halfway across the screen and has been doing so for about an hour now. How can I fix this? I need it for school. Am I going to have to send it back? And if so, will they send me a replacement while I am waiting for mines to be fixed?

    Janellie_love-
You might connect the iPad to its wall charger for half an hour, to be sure there is enough juice to get started.
That sounds like an internal problem, as you suspect.  If you can show it to an Apple Store Genius, you may get a replacement on the spot.
If there is no Apple Store near you, look for an Apple Authorized Repair Center.  There may be one in your city.  I do not know how long it would take, or if a "loaner" would be available.  Whether they can fix it on site would depend on what the problem is.  <Apple Authorized Repair Centers>
One thing you can try is to reset (reboot) the iPad.  Hold both the Home and Sleep buttons for several seconds until the Apple logo appears.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" arrow.  If it works, the iPad will restart after a couple of minutes.  Resetting this way will not hurt anything, and sometimes clears up mysterious problems.

There is a cool tool in Coldfusion called MOD
This basically calculates the remainder of the row number
    when divided.
I interpreted its use to something like this, which has
    worked for me.
    <cfoutput query="qry_requestedlist" maxrows="30"
    startrow="1">
    <cfset EvenRow=#CurrentRow# +1>
    <cfif CurrentRow Mod 2 IS 1>

    <cfelse>
    <th class="white">#CurrentRow#</th>

I doubt this is precisely what you want but this is the sort
    of thing.

  • Grey and white square where the photo should be

When I open a photo all I that comes up is a grey and white blocked square, if I switch it off of RGB color I can then see the photo, but then I cant save it as a JPEG... what the heck is going on?

In the Device Manager, which can be found in your Control Panel, you'll be able to find out which graphics card you have. Chances are, it's made by Nvidia or ATI/AMD.
Once you have that information, go directly to the manufacturer's website (nVidia or ATI/AMD) and download the latest driver. (Note: Simply doing a Windows Update is does not guarantee you are using the latest driver. You must go directly to the nVideo or ATI/AMD websites to get the absolute latest driver.) After you update your driver, turn on Use Graphics Processor in Photoshop preferences. (via http://forums.adobe.com/message/4294508#4294508)

  • Grey and White

Why do they only have grey and white in outlook 2013?  That sucks so bad.  Outlook 2007 was way better on the eyes.

    Hi,
I understand there are only three themes in Office 2013 which is not so satisfactory to some users. I've collected the suggestion and please be assured that any improvements in the product are based on users' requirements. Our developers strive to capture

  • On the top left of my computer screen there are what look like the bottom half of small grey and white squares stacked on top of each other. They form a line about three inches long and I cant seem to get rid of them.  Is my computer dying or being hacked

On the top left of my computer screen there are what look like the bottom half of small grey and white squares stacked on top of each other. They form a line about three inches horizontally along the top and they cover half of the regualr bar (so half of the apple sign int he corner is covered) and I cant seem to get rid of them.  Is my hardrive crashing or being hacked?

I have never seen DEVELOP on the menu bar for Safari, hence my query regarding testing.
What OS are you using and what version of Safari?
If you want to check your HDD, Open Disk Utilities>First Aid and run Verify and Repair.
The only remedy that I can think of that may work is an OS reinstall.
I seriously doubt that your MBP is being hacked.
    Ciao.

  • Grey and white tripes on display

After the last upgrade (coincidence or not) after booting the display only shows grey and white irregular horizontal stripes (thin). As I start opening windows and where these open the stripes disappear until all the screen is normal. What on earth is happening. Never seen this on any type of computer PC or Mac.
Is this a problem with the graphics card. The Imac is not even one year old and very light usage.
    Can anyone help
    Thanks

I just went over an looked at a friend's 24" iMac which had this same issue after installing the 10.5.5 and latest QuickTime updates. AppleCare had no suggestions. I tried resetting the NVRAM and PRAM. The iMac started up correctly twice and the third time the screen display problem occurred again. Opening up the displays pref pane and changing the colors from millions to thousands eliminated the glitch and I immediately reset the color depth to millions. As long as the computer is running there is no problem. It only occurred at startup or right before shutdown and even then sporadically. I'm convinced it is a software glitch but beyond a belief I have no data on which to base that assertion.

  • Template page width changed background now grey and white

I am using a beginners template from codify design studio and I was asked to make the top of the page 100%. AFter that the right side shows grey where there is no text and no contianers. I tried figuring it out by looking at the code (comparing the original to the changed code); but I cannot see what the problem is or what I can do to fix it. I also tried to make the background tile white and that did not work. Here is the index:

    Hi,
You need to give us the link to your site because pasting the code as you are doing is not the way because we can't see the code from the picture of your site (except that there is something wrong!).  Could you post a link to your site so that this can be resolved.  It is a matter of centering your container/wrapper so that there is an equal amount of space on both sides and we can also tell you to enter the code manually to make the empty space white (rather than gray).
    Hope this helps.

  • When will apple change the color grey and white?

I may be color blind and have trouble seeing certain colors but that doesn't make colors a bad thing thing for itunes. One reason I don't like using to much my itunes is for the fact I can't change the color. It's rather a big issue for me because I can't stare at my screen since the white and grey just really hurts my eyes. I would think a glossy black or maybe color adjustment would do so much for itunes. I think it would make itunes so much more attractive and wonderful to look at. and lastly I really don't like the fact that I can't play any files i purchase from itunes in my windows player. NO device I have allows me to watch it any bigger then how it looks and I'm really not liking this! I regret purchasing from iTunes now. Can iTunes take away that M4v video stuff because then I might as well buy it from Amazon is it won't be any use on my computer because like how I explain iTunes grey white color is really unnattractive and I just don't like playing videos nor music files on it. THANK YOU! and I hope to look for changes

Just us users here. Nobody knows what Apple is going to do, or when they might or might not do it.

  • Previously rock solid MacPro ('08) crashed and now will not boot up past a screen of black, grey and white blocks covered in pink artefacts. Lion recently installed. Can this old warhorse be saved?

Yesterday the trusted and loyal MacPro froze and on reboot kept going straight to a screen which looks like a modern art collaboration between Kasparov, a robot and the ghost of Jackson Pollock. You can see the artwork in the pictures below.
    Lion has recently been installed.
Main programmes used are Logic and Final Cut Pro.
I have taken the machine apart and dusted everything down, talked sternly to the ciruit boards, offered bribes to the CPU and even played it Salsa - I figured that this works in breaking the spirits of kidnappers, so it may work with the hard disk.
    Nada.
There is a suspicion lingering that the computer was aware of a make or break week of editing coming up and decided to stop working in protest (it is getting on a bit), so I let it rest for a bit before trying another reboot.
    Still no luck.
Short of going Basil Fawlty on it, is there anything I can do?
    Help!

Time to put it aside to pasture.... the 8800GT has some known issues.
Better to replace it now while you can.
As for your system, w/o another gpu but I'd give 99.999% that you are fine.
    For dust I juse a powerful 500W.
    http://www.amazon.com/Metro-Vacuum-ED500-500-Watt-Electric/dp/B001J4ZOAW/
Other than the card working its way loose (hard to do) or the 6-pin aux power cable being loose etc.
Someone said that "post Lion" that many Mac Pro owners have not been able to use their OEM DVD with Apple Hardware Test (the test is on a hidden partition).
$249 isn't totally bad investment to keep it running.
Other than FBDIMMs self destructing and being fried @ temps above 72*C and having errors of some sort... which is also solvable.
And while / IF you can, make sure you have made bootable clone of your system and data, and have some kind of current TimeMachine backup.

  • Grey And White box on Firefox startup everytime, Not responding, then loads

That happens after I start Firefox. And i had a message come up saying:

On first run. But it only comes up occasionally now.

You should only see that alert once after starting Firefox 4.0 on that profile.<br />

  • Ipod touch flickering grey and white....

And is totally unresponsive. I've tried plugging it in but the computer doesn't recognise that its there. I have held down all the buttons in various combinations for 15 seconds but I can't turn it off.
My daughter was just playing on an App when this happened - and it was a xmas present so only 2 months old!

Try what you have not tried so far. You may have tried all and the Apple store maybe in order.
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Render background black is not really black and white is not really white

    Goodday,
I have problem when i try to render movies from Premiere Pro CS4 in Adobe Media Encoder.
When it is has black background or a white background and i want to render it in Adobe Media Encoder the color shifts a little bit. Black gets really dark grey and white is not white anymore.
I import the composition in Media Encoder and make a WMV from it with all its values to the max. I also tried a few different codecs, but non of them keeps the background black or white.
what can i do to solve the problem?
    sincerly,
    3Demian

It's possible you have got some "sit-up" on the black. Do you have access to a 'scope? Not the rubbish thing in PrPro. If you have then look at the line timebase in the output and check the position of the 0 level after the back porch (after the line sync period). An overly raised black level (pedestal) in the video period will cause the blacks to look grey. If you are using a Proc Amp anywhere in the output then check the setup.
Similarly, raising the black level can cause clipping on your whites, which can result in the white not looking "white" depending upon how much it's being clipped and the setup of the clipping device threshold.
    Just a thought.
