Removing hiss sounds from video

What filters should be applied to remove camera his sounds?

Is it just a steady hiss (white noise), like you might have had on an audio tape without Dolby NR? You may have had the audio gain too high. Try lowering it in the audio clip. You might also be able to reduce it somewhat by using the graphic eq filter. More aggressive treatment can be done with a product like Sound Soap.
Or is it the sound of your camcorder's motor? Or something else?

Is there a way to remove camera flash from video clips within PE8?  If not natively, is there a plugin that can do this?
    Thanks,
    Steve

Here are the best answers that I can offer:
    1) why do you go from Premiere Pro to Premiere Elements?
Actually, about 90% of my work is in PrPro. The rest is in AfterEffects, PrE and other NLE programs. Basically, I use those, including PrE, when they do something better than PrPro. PrE will accept a broader range of formats/CODEC's, than will PrPro, so I use it to Import those odd Assets, and get them ready for PrPro. Same with CyberLink's PowerDirector, and Magix MovieEdit Pro.
    2) How do you synch the audio and video  (I'm guessing that you record off-camera).  I synch it by eye and ear and it can be tedious.  I don't have time code synchronized equipment
Most of my shooting is actually done with camera audio capture, though usually through either a shotgun, or wireless mics, attached to and recording to the camera's tape. When I do separate audio & video capture, I slate, so that I have the visual and audio sync. When I am faced with having to do manual sync, I will look for the visual and then the accompanying audio, and just nudge and listen. This ARTICLE will give you some of the mechanics of the process.
    3) I don't know much about DD 5.1 SS and this is just from the point of curiosity at present, can it be a problem keeping long clips in sync?
I do not record to DD 5.1 SS, as that is a very expensive and technically challenging process. It takes six well-designed and well-placed mics, a multi-channel recorder and a mixing panel, run by a skilled tech. My DD 5.1 SS Audio is with regard to the music for my Projects. Some of it is recorded as 6 discrete channels and then mixed, while some is faux 5.1 and is "created" from 2-channel source material.
Much of the work from Hollywood is actually faux 5.1, in that the source material is seldom recorded in 5.1. Most is stereo and mono, and is blended from myriad sources. These can be SFX, dialog, ambient audio. Most of those are mono TO separate them out from any other audio sources. Narration is a good example. Few audio techs, would consider using a stereo mic for narration and would choose a very directional mono mic, so as to better reject other audio signals.
Now, I can take a mono SFX file and pan/fade (not in the terms of a "fade" Transition, but front to rear location) it across/around the sound stage. I can place that bumblebee anywhere that I want, when I want it with 5.1 SS Audio. I'd almost always work with mono sources, so that I have the pure signal with no clues as to the source location - I set those in mixing.
I must add that with regard to mixing of music, there are constraints on doing faux 5.1. If the material was not recorded on multiple tracks to begin with, the RIAA, and other organizations, greatly frowns on creating a 5.1 "master." That came after the failed quadrophonics experiments from the '70s/'80s. With Hollywood's music, the recording IS done multi-track in the studio/symphony hall, so it IS multi-track and just gets mixed down to 5.1 Audio. This will be about the only time that the audio is done multi-channel in recording, as few environments lend themselves to doing 5.1 during the initial recording. There are exceptions, like live concerts, but that is almost a genre unto itself.
Sync, in and of itself, is not difficult to maintain, but so much depends on the recording equipment. Many, using separate cameras and recorders, often find that there is sync drift, and need to establish the % of "cure." In the old cine days, we hooked our camera to the Nagra recorder, and chose which unit's crystal clock would establish sync. Then, we had a cable between the two. Nowadays with digital, it seems a bit more difficult. There are several recent threads in the PrPro forum about the sync drift between pro-level cameras and recorders. One user has found that altering his recorder's output by 104% fixes the OOS issues. Others need to test critically. The sync clocks in different equipment just does not match up perfectly, and there is usually no universal crystal clock that overrides the internal ones - like in the "good old days."
Hope that this helps. If I missed something, please let me know,

  • No sound from Video Recording on iPad Mini

    Hi All Apple users,
Just need to check how do i troubleshoot this problem.
I can hear the sound from videos from all other websites and other playback apps.
but when i tried recording a video, the sound just did not project out from my recordings.
it is a mic problem? because i had no problems before. it just so happened one fine day...

why can't you record your video ?
    is the option gone?
does it give you an error?
does it show as if it's recording but don't produce a recording in the end?
    basicly more info is needed

If you have lost all sound and video is freezing on you, that ain't good. Your iPad is two months old so I would not hesitate to contact Apple at all. You are entitled to 90 days of phone support.
    http://www.apple.com/support/ipad/contact/.
If you want to try a couple of things on your own, try quitting all apps and then reboot the iPad - not so much for the sound issue itself - but more as a general "start all over again" sort of approach. It might help with the video freezes.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Reboot the iPad.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
If you use headphones on occasion, you can try plugging and unplugging those as well and see if the sound comes back.
You could even try restoring the iPad to factory settings and then restore from a backup, but unless there is something totally hosed on the iPad, that should not be necessary with a two month old device - of course assuming that you didn't drop the iPad or do something accidental that could be causing the problems.

  • TEXT SOUND STOPS WORKING AND SO DOES ANY SOUND FROM VIDEOS

My texting sound, button clicking and any sound from videos does not work.  Is anyone else having that problem.  I have had it back to the sprint store 4 times.

The sound on/off button is on, the sound settings are set to ring and not vibrate but the sound will not work.  It will ring for incoming phone calls but for nothing else.  No video, no text sound, no click while typing, etc.  The phone has been reset to factory default 3 times.  Apparently, I have a apple phone that is a lemon........

I've restarted my iPad, there are no available updates that I am aware of.

    Try reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected.

  • High pitch hissing sound from 970A-G46 motherboard with AMD FX 8 core processor

I am getting high pitch hissing sound from 970A-G46 motherboard with AMD FX 8 core processor.
Sound is coming from some place near CPU area.
I tried changing Core C 6 State in BIOS from Enabled to Disabled to fix this issue.
    I also followed steps in following link, w w w . tomshardware.com/forum/292915-30-high-pitched-noise-coming-area
    No luck with above changes.
I heard this is a common problem with MSI motherboards. Is there any fix for this issue.

Quote from: flobelix on 12-January-13, 18:49:48
That is surely no typical problem of MSI mainboards. In fact that is very rare if it is the board.
Tke the board out of case on a non conductive surface with nothing else connected but but mainboard, ram, psu, cpu and vga. Try it again after clearing CMOS (>>Clear CMOS Guide<<)
If you are then 100% sure that it is the board this could be a defect as MSI mainbaords normally don't cause coil whine and I haven't heard that about 970A-G46 so far
I tried clearing CMOS by replacing jumper and loading factory defaults. Still high pitch sound is coming intermittently. As my 30 day period is over with Frys Electronics, How easy to get a replacement board from MSI. Does anyone know the steps?

  • 2011 MBP 17" 2.3 GHz - High pitch hissing sound from left speaker

When I transfer large amounts of data (wifi and ethernet) I get a high pitch hissing sound from the left speaker. When the transfer is done, the hissing stops.
Is anyone else experiencing this and is there anything I can do to stop it?
When it occurred: I was transferring data from my old MBP to my new 2011 MBP first via WiFi, then by Ethernet (much faster . My old (2007) MBP had not hissing what so ever, by my new MBP was rather loud. I'm very happy it's only when using the network.

I get this sound every time I download, WiFi or Ethernet it dosen't matter the sound is the same. I can't guarantee that it's from the speaker, I have an old Netgear switch that sounds the same when I use it (just to clarify: I'm not using that switch anymore or ever have with this MBP)
So it could be some electrical sound (I'm not a hardware engineer) just a guess.

  • Program to remove sound from video and join video with audio file?

With which program can I remove the sound of a video and join/sync the video file with another audio file?
    Thank you

Can I suggest using something that will allow audio capture from the external mic. to start with. Then you will have a video with audio in sync, in a format that you can re encode into whatever format you wish.
But, if you must do that. Dump the video from the handycam file, then put the mics audio file with it. ffmpeg -i video ffmpeg -i audio into whatever container and codecs that you want. You may have to adjust audio-video sync
    ffmpeg -i audio -itsoffset 0.1 -i video
Search this forum and the web. There are hundreds of ffmpeg examples. And the ffmpeg man
    https://ffmpeg.org/ffmpeg.html
ffmpeg will do just about anything, but is a little daunting. Ask specific questions and you'll get specific answers. Or find a front end for it. I never use them.

  • How do I remove sound from videos in PS CS6 extended?

I have a series of movies which I intended to individually import into PhotoShop CS6 Extended, add end credits, and then export WITHOUT SOUND. For the life of me, I can't see any way to remove the audio from the movies! I'm sure this feature was easily available in the PS CS6 beta version. Any clues?

I have the same problem as Ham. I can't see the context menu for sound.
I saw that context menu in the video that Sudarshan mentioned, but it's not in my Photoshop CS6, where - like Ham experienced - i only see a context menu for Motion.
Just as Ham, i do see the sound context menu at the beginning of my work. I even got to clips in a project where one clip offers sound editing, the other doesn't.
Clips where sound can be edited appear as a blue bar. Clips where sound cannot be edit appear as a violet bar. Even if i add an MP3, it appears as a violet bar, so sound cannot be edited while motion editing is offered. I also tried to dampen the sound via the opacity control in the layer panel, but it didn't work.
I already created a complicated project out of 6 clips. I can't restart now to edit audio before anything else.
Is there any way to get audio editing (in the limited way that's part of Photoshop CS6 sometimes) in ALL clips within a project?
    Thanks!

  • How do I remove the sound from a video project and replace with music...?

Hi there to all...I would like to know how you remove the original sound from a movie (using iMovie) so you dont hear it through any music added...?

Select the video clip and open the clip inspector to the video tab. You can set the volume slider to zero.
You can apply this to a bunch of clips at once.
    Do the first one.
    Then Edit/Copy.
Then Select the clips to apply it to by select while holding command key. (or EDIT/SELECT ALL to get all clips)
    Then EDIT/PASTE ADJUSTMENTS/AUDIO ADJUSTMENTS

  • Sound from video plays after video player removed from stage

I have a website http://www.droolpigs.com when I go there if I click the video archives button then play a video  then click on the home or photos button or one of the alternate  background buttons on the left the video goes away as it should but not  always the audio (especially when I click while the video is still  buffering).  Is there a command I can use to kill the sound from the  flvPlayback component and nothing else(I have a mp3 player there also I  so I don't want to use the SoundMatrix class.
btw the videos are all played on an instance of the flvPlayback component.

That didn't work.  I found this posting where someone claimed to access the netstream object in flvPlayback
    video1.addEventListener(VideoEvent.STATE_CHANGE, onVideoStateChange);
            private function onVideoStateChange(evt:VideoEvent)
                ns = evt.target.getVideoPlayer(evt.vp).netStream;
                video1.removeEventListener(VideoEvent.STATE_CHANGE, onVideoStateChange);
                setNetstreamObject();
I attempted to instantiate ns this way var ns:NetStream = new NetStream(); but the compiler was expecting a argument.
I'm about ready to ditch flvPlayback and try my luck with the NetStream class.

  • Controlling sound from video player on the timeline

I'm working on a site that is using frames on the timeline
for different pages in the site.
One frame (page) has a video component in it that plays an
    flv file.
When I play the video in that frame it works great, but then
when I navigate to another frame, the sound from the video
component still plays, even though I'm in a frame with no video
    component.
How can I get the sound to stop when the user navigates away
from the page with the video component?

There's no magic solution. However, you don't necessarily have to re-edit it all. Convert the clips in GoPro Studio, using the Fisheye Removal checkbox. In Premiere, right-click a clip in the Bin and use "Replace Footage" and point it to the NEW clip. Do this for each clip. This should replace the clips in the timeline and you won't need to re-edit the clips in the Sequence.
I've had a similar issue - editing a large, two-camera wedding ceremony and later deciding I wanted to use a DeNoiser filter to clean up the grainy video. Converted the clips externally, then replaced in Premiere. No problems, worked like a charm, all edits and effects intact but using new, cleaned footage.

Iv recently started to record using Garageband and just cant remove the hiss/noise from the amp simulator without compramising the sound i want for recording drastically. I use quite high gain as i play mainly heavy rock, iv tried turing the gain levels down but im not getting anywhere near the sound i would like to achieve. So do you know of any methods that i can give a go or will i just have to live with the results and compramise?
    Many thanks in advance!

Cheers guys for the help, it went down a treat and now i practically have no hiss/noise on my tracks. Thanks very much for letting me get my music down as i want it, you were both very helpful!

  • Removing green background from videos (Chromakeying)

    Hi,
I am currently trying to use JMF to remove green background from the videos I have recorded. I am trying to merge 2 videos ( 1 video in the background) and (this video w/green bacground removed in the foreground). Does merge.java from JMF do the job for the second part? Please help!!

Merging works only with one video sitting on top of another, but the top video positioned on the top left corner. Is there some way to have the top video positioned in the center? I am using the merge.java file from the JMF solutions. Any way to remove the green/blue background of a video using Java codes? Or is there a freeware tool to do so and then have the java program call it?
