Removing iTunes similar items from Library view

The information that appears in the library view of itunes from ITMS is anoying & limits the amount of lines that are visible from the Library. Is there anyway to stop that informayion from appearing or at least is there annyway to limit the amount of screen space that tha information takes?

Not quite sure what you are referring to - the column views can be changed in the view menu.
Is it the Browser - you can show and hide this on the view menu.
Is it the MiniStore - again toggle on or off with the view menu.

Accidently removed "Contextual Menu Item" from /Library

Hello
I was testing an application called iTrash during which it seems like i have deleted the "Contextual Menu Items " folder as its no longer present and i can no longer right-click anywhere on my Snow Leopard. I don't have any backups. Can someone tell me how i can recover that folder or if i can download the files needed to have in that folder (just the original ones) to regain the Right-click again?
Trash is empty so i can't recover from there. Can someone please help

Normally, that folder's empty. Just recreate it. However, it has nothing to do with right-clicking and getting contextual items. Something else is amiss. Check System Preferences->Mouse and ensure that you haven't disabled the right click. BTW, there isn't any Archive & Install in Snow Leopard, just install.

Hi there.
I am having an array of movieclips and when my circle(controlled with the keyboard) hitTests true with one of the movieclips inside that array i want to remove that movieclip from the array so when i hitTest it again it returns false (I hitTest using a "for in" with that array).
How do i remove a specific item from within an array?

i haven't noticed anyone showing deference because of the points. in fact, i've seen some people (a minority, to be sure) be just obnoxious about it. i never encountered that before: some people feel they have power because they can dole out points.
but overall i agree with you: the loss of the list of threads i am participating in, along with the most recent posters name, is a significant drawback of the new forums. and there's nothing new in these forums that offsets that drawback.
in addition, i think we've lost way more than 1/2 the older threads. that's a lot of information that's no longer available.

How to only sync selected items from library

*I am a new owner of a 120GB iPod classic. How do I sync only certain songs from the itunes I currently have ? I removed the check mark from the box and those songs still downloaded to the ipod. Not sure how to set itunes to only snyc those items selected. Any help is appreciated.*

One thing you want to check is to make sure you have your iPod set to only sync checked songs. To do this, plug your iPod in and when it appears in iTunes, on the Summary tab, you will see a section called "Options" below. You want to make sure you have a check mark next to "Sync only checked songs and videos" and then hit Apply and see if that helps.

Remove Powershell Pinned Item from taskbar for all users in 2008 R2 RDS server

Im trying to remove the Powershell Pinned Item from the taskbar on a 2008 RDS server. I have setup a mandatory porfile from a 2008 SP2 server (because you cannot do this in R2 any more), Check the default user pinned items folder, check the registry for powershell.exe, loaded up the NTUSER.DAT file for default to see if any thing obious was there, tried some logon scripts that are suppose to remove pinned items and posted on several forums. This has to be one of the simplest dumb things i have ever worked on , and its been about a week. So how do i remove it?

The default pinned items are created the first time a user logs in. Modifying the default user profile won’t help here.
The easiest option is to set the “Remove pinned programs from the Taskbar” to disable taskbar pinned items altogether. The default pinned items won’t show up, but the user won’t be able to pin anything else either.
If you don't want to disable pinning altogether the solution is a little more complicated. One option is to remove the shortcuts “Accessories\Windows PowerShell\Windows PowerShell.lnk” and “Administrative Tools\Server Manager.lnk” from the common start menu folder. These shortcuts are copied to create the pinned items. If they aren’t present they can’t be pinned. This is not a supported option but it may work.
Another option is to use IStartMenuPinnedList::RemoveFromList in a first run script to remove the pinned items. Not sure how reliable this would be due to the timing of when the default items are added compared to when the script would run.
One other option is to use shell scripting to invoke the pin & unpin verbs on items:

This would need to be done when the user first logs in (since unpinning default items in the default user profile won't affect each new user account), but it also need to be timed after Explorer sets up the default pinned items as explained above.

Insert item from library into text

I am wondering if anyone knows how to insert an item from a library into a text or graphics frame programmatically? Are items in the library referenced by their names or do they have unique IDs
I have a custom bullet that I have not yet converted to a font and I don't want to have to manually insert the bullet into each line of text I want. I have a tag where the bullet should go and I just want to replace the tag with the bullet.
I know this is pretty strange but I am sure someone has experience with this.

Hi all,
tomcat6.0, JDK5.0.
I use tomcat6.0 as the web container and JDK version is 1.5.
I found tomcat connector will add "content-length" item in all httpServletResponse header.
But now I need generate some chunked http response.according the RFC, there should be no "content-length" item in the http header when response is chunked-encoding.
So how can I remove the 'content-length" item from the httpServletResponse header?

TIFF files disppeared from library view

For some unknown (to me) reason, some tiff files that I have created via editing in CS3 do not appear in LR library view. When I try to reimport the tiff file, LR says it's already in the catalog and points to the nef file parent. What am I doing wrong? Is it perhaps related to the fact that I may not have created the tiff file thru LR/edit in photoshop? This is a tiff file that I may have created from a nef prior to owning LR. Thanks.

How are the Parent and Nef file named. If the difference is only the extension LR thinks the Tiff is a sidecar and wont import it. That is what -edit is added, usually (you can change this in a preference) before the extension for the tiff or psd file, so LR will import it.

How can I remove the Similar Items plugin? It doesn't show up in addons

The Similar Items addon is back, and it seems they have gotten trickier in how they are installing themselves. All of the previous instructions for removing it no longer work. Has anybody figured this out yet?

Can you confirm it is injected one of your extensions? you could test the same activit in Firefox's Safe Mode. That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:
* "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
* Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
Not all add-ons are disabled: Flash and other plugins still run
After Firefox shuts down, a small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset).
Any difference?
If that kills it, then scrutinize your extensions. It could be one you don't recognize, or it could be a feature of one of the seemingly innocent ones. For example, in a 2012 post, someone mentioned Awesome Screenshot as having "similar items" ads you had to turn off.
More generally, because bad extensions often arrive in a bundle, I suggest starting here:
Open the Windows '''Control Panel''', Uninstall a Program. After the list loads, click the "Installed on" column heading to group the infections, I mean, additions, by date. This can help in smoking out undisclosed items that snuck in with some software you agreed to install. Take out as much trash as possible here.
Next, in Firefox, open the '''Add-ons page''' using either:
* Ctrl+Shift+a
* "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
(1) In the left column, click Plugins. If you find a plugin that you don't recognize or which doesn't sound essential, try setting it to "Never Activate". ''(The most essential Plugin is Shockwave Flash. You can use most sites without the others.)''
(2) In the left column, click Extensions. Then, if in doubt, disable (or Remove, if possible) unrecognized and unwanted extensions.
Often a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
Finally, you can "mop up" remaining issues with the scanning/cleaning tools suggested in this support article: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware]].

Is it fair to remove and add gestures from a view frequently on some events?

I am adding and removing a gesture from a view frequently based on some events. I want to know is this a good way of coding, if no please let me know the reasons.

Like most plugins, you'll need to uninstall Java Deployment Toolkit from outside Firefox. But... I don't see it in the Uninstall a Program Control Panel. So if you want to still have Java, I think your choices are:
(1) Leave it fully disabled ("Never Activate")
(2) Remove the registry entry Firefox uses to locate the plugin
(3) Delete the plugin's DLL file from disk (or rename with an inactive extension like .OLD)
The third is probably easier than the second, because you can learn the location of the DLL on disk by typing or pasting '''about:plugins''' in the address bar and pressing Enter.

Cannot install or remove itunes or quicktime from computer.

I'm trying to upgrade my iTunes and keep getting message that it resides is a network resource and is unavailable, then get message that
Quicktime.msi is invalid and I'm unable to locate a valid version on my system, Quicktime.msi does exist in the directory
I'm using for the installation. Attempts to remove iTunes or Quicktime using control panel and remove program results in
same error.
My iTunes is nonfunctional and has been since I first received this error.

not only uninstall but then after restart look and see if all the progams are realy gone
run ccleaner and include registry clean

Batch remove word doc pages from library

Hi,
I see there are ways to batch remove or add information to word docs and i have successfully removed the cover page from word docs and put into one document. Is there any way to remove cover and end pages from word docs in a batch? I need to
remove the cover pages of over 300 documents and then the last 2 or 3 pages as well.
Any suggestions?

Deleting the first page is no problem, especially if it's in its own Section. Removing pages from the end of the document is likewise no problem in and of itself, but the '2 or 3 pages' isn't something VBA can be left to decide for itself - it needs rules
that tell it how to decide whether to delete 2 pages or to delete 3 pages. If Section breaks at the end of the document are involved, matters can become complicated when header/footer content and differences in page layout need to be considered.
