Removing iWOW plug-in

Help! I downloaded the demo of the iWOW plug-in for iTunes, but I don't know how to remove it. While great, I don't listen to music on my laptop that often so it's not worth the $$.
I have looked in the "iTunes Plug ins" folder which appears to be empty. Any help>

Nimrod109,
Welcome to Discussions.
The SRSiWOW.dmg file also contains an uninstaller.
If you trashed that file, you can download the .dmg here and run the 'Uninstall' script.
Hope this helps.

  • Deleting SRS Labs/iWOW plug-in

I've got some Klipsch external speakers hooked up to my iMac, so I use iWOW from SRS Labs. Makes my iTunes songs sound great! I also have a MacBook Pro, and I migrated all my settings from the iMac to the MacBook Pro when I first bought it. Fine and dandy.
My problem involves launching iTunes on the MacBook Pro: when I first try to open it, I get a nag message from SRS iWOW informing me that my demo has expired, and would I please consider registering. Point is, I am a registered iWOW user, and have it installed on my iMac. When I launch iTunes on the iMac, I encounter no nag messages -- the MacBook Pro, however, is a different matter. I have searched high and low on my MacBook Pro, and can find no evidence of either iWOW, an SRS folder or an SRS/iWOW plug in which can promptly delete. Alas, I still get an SRS warning message on iTunes startup on the MacBook Pro!
So what can I do to solve this problem and remove all vestiges of iWOW on my MacBook Pro?

  • IWow plug in for iTunes, problem

Wondering can anybody help me out. I downloaded the SRS iWow plug in for iTunes. The demo expired, and now the registration window pops up when i start up iTunes. If i hit the cancel button it still just hangs there. And with the window popped up i cant use iTunes. I have to force quit and try again. How do i get rid of this?

Doubleclick on the 'SRSiWOW.dmg' file to mount it.
When it opens, run the 'Uninstall' script.
This script should remove all traces of iWow.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to remove kindlegen plug-in in InddCS5.5

Once again, I fell for the recommendation to install a third-party plug-in: Amazon kindlegen plug-in for indesign CS5.5. It has caused my INDDCS5.5 to not be able to load. I want to remove this kindlegen plug-in. I saw on one forum (not adobe forum) some very tecchie/geekie instructions, involving yet another program to be installed to remove kindlegen. Does anyone here know some easier way to get rid of the thing?
This is the link I found with all the uber-geeky stuff to fix it. Waaay over my head: http://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=96903

Kindlegen always caused problems for me. IMHO, a horrible program. I just stick to InDesign "export for epub" option. And then Amazon, B&N, et. al., can do the rest (like, Amazon converting to their mobi format when you upload an epub file to kdp.amazon.com.

  • Removing MultiTunes plug-in

    Hi,
I installed the MultiTunes plug-in a few months ago. This is a nice plug-in but I don't really have a use for it now that iTunes has built-in support for multiple libraries. So my question is: how can I remove this plug-in?
    Thanks!

How about a Spotlight search to locate the plugin and put it in the trash. Make sure there are no files that iTunes uses in the folder before moving it to the trash.

  • How do I remove adobe plug-in?

So 2-3 years ago I didn't like the way Safari displayed or was unable to view PDF's in Safari. So I downloaded a plug-in that enabled me to see PDF's in the same way you see them in acrobat reader.
Now, I like the way Safari does this on it's own and I would like to disable/remove this plug in so I can use preview more easily to view PDF's
    How do I start? I Don't remember where I got the plug-in.

    Daniel,
    1. Open Adobe Reader>Preferences...>Categories>Internet>Web Browser Options> [ ] Uncheck "Display PDF browser using:"
    2. Quit Safari or any other browsers.
    3. Then, in Finder navigate to:
    Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Internet Plug-ins
    (or) Macintosh HD/Library/Internet Plug-ins
(and) move the Adobe PDF Viewer plugin (I no longer have it installed to give you the precise name) to the Desktop.
    4. Restart Safari or your desired browser.
If you have different PDF Viewer/Browser plug-in other than Adobe, just use the same procedure.
You can reserve the PDF viewer or trash it at your discretion.

How do you remove a plug-in from aperture?

You need to remove it from where it is installed. That could be one of two places.
    Quit Aperture
Triple click the following to select it
    /Library/Application Support/Aperture
Right click it and select Services->Open from the contextual menu. Look for the plugin. If it is there drag it to the trash or Desktop depending on if you want to get rid of it for good.
If it is not there try
    ~/Library/Application Support/Aperture
If not there post back wit the name of the plugin

  • Removing Safari plug-in

Today I was futzing around and saw a website that advertised videos including movies, tv shows, etc.  I thought I would take a gander at it just to see how it worked.  When I started a video, it said I had to install a Safari plug-in.  Without think too much, I went ahead and installed the plug-in and the movies started working (spanish subtitiles).  I'm done with the site and would like to remove the plug-in as I'm a bit concerned about malware.
I found a list of the plug-ins within Safari, but can't find the said plug-in.  Should I be concerned about the plug-in if I never go back to the website?  And if I were to find the plug-in, how would I uninstall it?

Uninstall SIMBL as follows. Back up all data before making any changes.
Triple-click the line below to select it, then copy the text to the Clipboard (command-C):
    /Library
    In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar, paste into the box that opens (command-V), and press return. A folder will open. From that folder, delete the items listed below (some may be absent.) You may be prompted for your administrator login password.
    Application Support/SIMBL
    InputManagers/SIMBL.bundle
    LaunchAgents/net.culater.SIMBL.Agent.plist
    ScriptingAdditions/SIMBL.osax
Log out and log back in.
Make sure you never reinstall SIMBL. It’s likely to come bundled with another third-party system modfication that depends on it. If you want trouble-free computing, avoid software that makes miraculous changes to other software, especially built-in applications. The only real exception to that rule is Safari extensions, which are mostly safe, and are easy to get rid of when they don’t work. SIMBL and its dependents are not Safari extensions.

It is not a good idea, to manually delete registry keys. Java uninstaller removes all registry entries that are needed to perform clean future installation.
You might see some of the keys not removed by Java unistaller but they do not prevent any user from doing fresh installation of Java in future.
Java removal tool is currently being developed, but that is for removing old/unsecure and unsupported Java versions. The tool isn't really intended to remove current/above security baseline versions of Java.
Also, the tool does a standard un-install using msiexec /x. It won't specifically delete registry keys - it lets msiexec do it.
