Removing "last 12 months" album

So, I've noticed that my iPhone and iPad have a folder in the Photos app labled "Last 12 Months" with one picture in it that is apparently from my mac desktop.  I deleted this photo from my mac MONTHS ago yet its still apearing on both my iPad and iPhone within that folder.  I checked iPhoto to make sure it wasn't still in that program and sure enough, it WASN'T.  How do I either remove this folder or delete the photo (neither my iPhone or iPad give me that option for photos in this album)??

You can remove the album from the left hand pane by setting the number of months to 0 in iPhoto's General preferences pane.
Have you tried changing the dates with the option to change the original files? Then export the original files out of iPhoto and reimport them. See if that will get the correct dates.

  • Last 5 Months Album Behaving Strangely

When I have the "Show last 5 Months" iPhoto puts pictures in that album that are much older than 5 months. Even the information tab at the bottom left says from 3/30/06 to 9/9/08. However when I change it to 4 months, said group of pictures disappears.
The imported date is 7/2007, and the original date is 3/2006. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this? It's kind of annoying. Thanks in advance.

As I remember the Show last "n" months shows all photos in events with one or more photos in the last "n" months - you must have an event with at least on photo from 5 months ago that also have several older photos in it - check the photos in that event

  • Photo Stream of last n months album auto update?

I need (aka really appreciated the convenience of) the ability to automatically share the most recently imported photos with another user on my machine. I've tried a photo stream of the  "Last ☐ Months" smart album that is available in iPhoto's preferences, however the photo stream is not dynamic like the album is. I understand and appreciate the convenience of new iPhone photos being available in iPhoto automatically as a photo stream, so I assumed the opposite would also be true. I don't see where it is and I'm honestly very dismayed at that. If I'm missing how to do this, please do tell. A plugin, maybe? An AppleScript?
Barring that, are there any other options anyone has explored? I've been using iPhoto the last 12 years, but I'm at the point if switching to another workflow. Adobe is WINDOWS style bloat and Google I just don't trust, so their products are a no-go for me.
I can fathom a homegrown solution using Image Capture and shared folders, but I can tell it's beyond my frustration capacity. Not that it would match the old iPhoto sharing. What a waste to throw away such a powerful, useful feature.

i'm sorry but with all of the editorial you failed to actually tell us what the problem is and what you have
my best guess is that you upgraded from iPhoto '09 or earlier to iPhoto '11 although it is impossible to tell from your rambleing
if that is the case then local sharing requires an external disk formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) with ownership ignored
iPhoto: Sharing libraries among multiple users
if that is not what you want please post a simple straight forward statement of what you have, what you want to accomplish and why you can not do it

  • Upgrade to itunes removes last 6 months of apps and podcasts

Since the itunes update from June or July 2011, my itunes reverts to the same 130 podcasts I had at that time anytime I have to turn itunes off or we get a new upgrade, such as the one this week.  Also, does not recognize any new apps or app updates since then.  Each time I turn it off or update it, I have to sync to find my current podcasts, get rid of the old ones, and update apps; we are up to 43 apps that need updating each time this happens.  I am using Mac OS X version 10.6.8.   Anyone have any experience with this?  Thanks!

You need to have two separate iTunes Store accounts, one in the UK iTunes Store and one in the US iTunes Store. To set this up will require having two different email addresses and either two credit cards, one issued in each country, or the use of prepaid iTunes cards issued in the appropriate country.
Otherwise, it is possible to change the country of the iTunes Store (again assuming you have a UK and a US credit card), but it would be rather awkward at best to do this multiple times per year and may even be rejected after a change or two. Better to have two separate accounts, I think.
    Regards.

  • IPhoto "Last 12 months" only shows 1 month from March-April

On August 24th I imported some film into my iPhoto. Well I finally have a chance to go edit it and it is not there. After searching for it on iPhoto and my computer and an external hard drive- all just in case- I discovered that my iPhoto will only open up photos/video from 3/20/13-4/27/13. It says that that is what I uploaded in the last 12 months...I have uploaded a lot more than that and used it to create videos and export photos from my iPhone.
I can't find my videos anywhere and it is for a project due on Monday.
    Can anyone help?

Wondering: what happens to photos in the Last 12 Months folder, which have not been sorted into other albums, after 12 months..? -
Nothing happens to them. The last twelve months album is just a window, showing you a current selection of your photos.  You can access all photos in your library either from the Photos view or from the "events" view. Each photo is a member of one of the events.
You can define your own "last xxx month" albums with a different date range by defining a smart album from the File menu.
Format the date according to the date format in your region settings.

  • IPhoto Last 12 Months folder

Running iPhoto 9.5.1. Mavericks 10.9.4.  Wondering: what happens to photos in the Last 12 Months folder, which have not been sorted into other albums, after 12 months..? - particularly as I've been adding more photos, so the 12 month date keeps advancing. Do they simply remain, even though they were added more than 12 months ago?
For example: my current Last 12 months folder contains images from Sept 2013 to Sep 2014. Many of these pics haven't been organized into other folders. When I begin to add photos from Oct 2014, what happens to the images from Sept 2013...which will be more than 12 months ago?

  • I have lost pictures in my albums. Only some.  I deleted same photos from last 18 months because they were duplicates.  Did this make the pictures disappear from yhe albums?

I have lost the pictures in most of my albums.  After I creatd the albums, I went back to the same pictures in the last 18 months and erased them.  Did this cause the album pictures to also be erased?  My Itunes was acting like my Ipad was attached, but it  was not.  Help

Was that in iPhoto on your Mac or on your iPad?
, I went back to the same pictures in the last 18 months and erased them.
Then, sorry to say, you will have deleted the photos  from your iPhoto library.
Have you checked iPhoto's Trash and the Trash on your Desktop, if the photos are still there? Then put them back from iPhoto's Trash or move them back from the trash basket on your Desktop.
Did this cause the album pictures to also be erased?
Albums do not store photos or duplicate photos - they are a way to group photos that are stored in events,  just an index, showing you a subset of the photos in the library. A photo can be used in many albums, without needing more storage. When you delete a photo from its event, it will be removed from all albums, and all other views of the iPhoto library. Never delete a phot from its event, unless you want to remove it completely from your iPhoto library. A photo is only a duplicate, unless you have imported the same file twice and you see the copy in an event.
iPhoto has several views, that may show you the same photos in different groupings, for easy access, but do not contain duplicates.
If you cannot retrieve your photos from the Trashs, restore your iPhoto Library from the last backup, that contains all photos.  If there is no recent backup, you may want to try recovery software - then stop using your mac and don't do anything that writes to your harddisk, until you recovered, what is still on your disk.
    For example,
    Disk Drill: http://www.cleverfiles.com/
usually makes a very good job of finding any jpegs, that still can be found on the harddrive.
My Itunes was acting like my Ipad was attached, but it  was not.
I don't understand, why you mention the iPad? Have you synced your photos to your iPad and are there still copies of them in your albums on the iPad?

  • I put all my photos into album .Then proceeded to erace photos from last 18 months.. Went back to albums, and no pictures in most of the albums.. What happened?  Don't know what to do.  How can I get pictures back in my albums?

I put all my photos int albums.  Then went back to same photos in last 18 months and deleted them.  When I went back to albums, most of the pictures were gone.  What happened?  All  of my pictures gone?  I need help...

    Hi saginrsf,
Deleted them from where? The photos in your albums are not the actual photos in your library. So if you deleted the photos from the Photos section of iPhoto, then you have deleted them period. All of the photos in your Albums are just "pointing" to the original photos. Albums are just a way of organizing your photos, but they are not copies of them.
Did you delete them from the Photos in iPhoto?

  • Macpro 17inch just shut down while using.  Tried removing battery and SMC to no avail.  Have had this problem before over the last six months but would always restore.  Now you just click on the power button front light stays on for 2 sec

Hi, My 17 inch Mac pro laptop just shut down and I can't get it to turn on again.  This has happen multiple times over the last six months.  Looked through the forum and tried removing the battery and resetting the SMC control to no avail. I was having issues also with the screen a month ago but that resolved by itself.  When I took it into the genius bar for screen problems I was told I'd probably need a new CPU board because the vram may be going bad and they just don't fix that
problem.  Have held off because of a potential $500 repair and awaiting ivy bridge technology.  Does anyone in the community know how I can restart my portable.  Right now you turn on the machine and the front light stays on for 2 sec and you hear the machine click off?

I think you may have already been told what the problem is.  However look at this and maybe it will help:

Probably another genius bar appointment is the best way to exactly define the problem.
    Good luck.

When I try to open an album, the pictures from "last 12 months" come up instead of the pictures in the album.

  • TS2518 I opened Aperture and all my projects and albums for the last 4 months have gone. Where can I recover them from?

I have lost the last 4 months of photos on Aperture and have no idea why. Can anyone tell me how to recover them? I don't find Mac software that intuitive after using MS for 30+ years.

We will need to know more, to be able to help you to find and restore your images.
What exactly do you mean by "lost 4 month of photos". Are earlier projects still visible in Aperture or are all your projects missing?
What is your Aperture version and your MacOS X version?
And what were the last action you did on your mac, before the photos went missing? Did you install something, update something, run some cleaning tools?
Did you move your aperture library to a different location?
Please tell us anything you think that might help to understand what happenend.
Sometimes images appear to be missing, but are only hidden.
Have you looked in Aperture's Trash? And the Trash on your Desktop?
Have you looked at the searchfields in the browser and Inspector if they are cleared and are showing "All Items" or "Showing all"?
Have you opened the correct  Aperture Library? If you type ".aplibrary" into the Spotlight searchfield in the upper right corner of your screen, do you see more than one Aperture library?

  • Can I remove or delete the albums that appear automatically in my Album lis

On later versions of the iOS, Apple has decided to "heplfully" create four fixed automatic Albums. These are All Photos, Panoramas, Last Import and Recently Delelted.
I use my Albums as a place to show group and show related images that I have selected, letting friends browse through the Albums and look at my photos. It is VERY inconvenient having the first four albums permanently on display, including recently deleted photos that have been deleted for a reason. They can't even be moved to the bottom of the list.
Can anyone tell me how to delete or hide these albums?
Another potentially BIG problem is that the behaviour of these fixed albums is different to other albums - deleting a photo from the first three will permanently delete it from the iCloud photo system. The normal behaviours, (expected by users) is that deletion from an Album only removes it from that Album.
    Any guidance appreciated.

Oh, it turned out to be my language settings. Ive been using the German locale and it has the form "icon 112. Gebrutstag von Mickey Mouse" - while the English version is fine. It starts with the name and appends the year.

  • My itunes won't update. It's looking for 10.6.0.40. Last time it tried to update, I downloaded the msi to my desktop and I deleted it within the last six months. Now I can't uninstall or update.

The last time my iTunes couldn't update. I used support from Itunes and downloaded it my desktop. My mistake. Because without thinking, I deleted it within the last six months from my desktop, without thinking I'd need it later. For the past month I've needed to update my Itunes and it can't find the msi. Now, my Ipad, my kids' ipod touches and my iphone can't update. Especially the ipod touches, iphone and work ipad have already updated to the OS6. And, now they won't work with this outdated iTunes. Help.

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Iphoto not storing photos in Last 2 month folder

Since I upgraded to Os X 10.8 when I download photos from camera,  iphoto is putting the picture in the Last import folder but if you
download again from the camera a new  pictures the previous one do not appear anymore in the Last 2 months folder.( but  they are indeed in the Photo folder.)
Why? Basically my  Last 2 Months folder has only pictures before the upgrade to OS X.
    Any thoughts?

    iPhoto 09?
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
    Regards
    TD
