Removing light reflex in part of the frame of video

Hi
I need to remove some light reflex in my video (sample picture below).
I cannot open the AVI / MOV files in Adobe Photoshop Elements 10. Is there a chance to make this correction (limited to the small part of the image) using Adobe Premiere Elements 10 or Adobe Premiere Pro CS6?
How should I do it? These are some 3 frames.

Was the camera on a tripod?
If so, you can easily mask out that part of the frame and use the Levels effect to cut the glare..
Because of the horizontal portion, you probably need to use the 16 point garbage matte. There are actually 9 points so the 8 point mask won't do the job as well. You could use a track matte, but it won't allow you to animate it as easily if it is necessary.
I put the image on track 1 and a copy on track 2. I applied the garbage matte effect and the levels effect to track two.
If the camera was not on a tripod, you can animate the matte but it is going to take a lot longer.
I created my matte with both images showing, but if I poke out the eye on track one this is what I see:
Did I understand it correctly? Is this what you wanted to do? I didn't make the window frame too dark. You can still see some highlights, which is as it should be, I think.

How can I highlight part of the frame and track it as it moves around in Final Cut Studio?

I'd like to highlight part of the frame by reducing the brightness of the surroundings. My idea was to duplicate the layer, reduce the opacity of the lower layer to 80% and crop the top layer to the area I want. Problem is this, how can I then follow the area of interest as it moves around the frame without laboriously keyframing and adjusting the cropped area every frame. Moving the cropped layer moves the content so that's no good. I definitely have the wrong approach here ... struggling ...

Regio blur (which I have and love btw) won't help me as I want everything sharp. I thought of using a box wipe transition the san duration as the clip with a cut in the middle to set the effect on and having it at 20% for example throughout and keyframing the center postion as required. Two problems with that, can't find a simple box wipe in effects (only centere wipe) and when I try it with other unsuitable wipes the size of the wipe changes when I adjust its centre position despite having the start and finish at the same percentage ... still working this one!

Using color corrector on only part of the frame

Im running FCP 5.0.4 and need some help color correcting something. I am editing footage that someone shot and the colors are completly unbalanced in the frame. Meaning the left side of the frame is red, making the person look like a cherry, whereas the right side of the frame is fine (well, good enough I should say). Nothing that I know how to do helps but I am not the worlds most knowledgeable when it comes to using all of the effects that FCP has to offer. I have used the Color Corrector 3-way utilizing the dropper in the whites to white balance the clip, but how do I only edit the left side to get the red out?
Any info would help thanks.

There are several "proper" ways you could do this, but if the scene is split as drastically as you say, you might get away with this little cheat...
Place the clip on V1 Copy the clip and place the copy on V2, above the first clip.
Double click the top clip and open the Motion tab.
Crop the clip so that only the side you want to CC is showing.
Add the CC filter to the top clip and adjust it as you like.
Go back to the Crop adjuster in the motion tab and add some feather to soften the divide between the two clips.
If that won't work then you have to start playing with the CC filter and learning how to use the "limit effect" controls. Works well, but can be time consuming if you are not that familiar with CC.

I've had my iPad smart case for over half a year now and the case is starting to come apart. The iPad is loose inside and the bottom part of the frame flaps open. While the tope part is starting to do the same. I read that using super glue is bad, so what adhesive should I use?

Editing timelapses in Lightroom- looks very different if there´s a small change within the frame

We´re having some serious issues with editing timelapses in Lightroom (5.6). What seems to happen over and over again, is that if there´s a small change within the frame (such as a bird flying past, people walking), the editing result varies greatly compared to the previoius frame. It´s easiest to understand what I mean by viewing the examples below.
Here there´s one picture without a boat in the frame, and a few seconds later there´s a boat in a small part of the frame. The camera is set to full manual, and the two JPGs which show the unedited pictures shows that the background and sky in both pictures look exactly the same. However, after pasting the same editing setting on both pictures, the picture with the boat looks vastly different (shadow areas are much darker). It´s the same result weather it is a white boat, a black bird or a person walking in/out of the frame. The picture gets much darker, and leads to some serious flicker in the timelapse which can be impossible to get rid of.
I assume that as there´s a small change in the histogram when the boat enters the frame, this change affects what Lightroom thinks of as shadows/highlights on so on? The example below has some heavy editing applied (shadows up, highlights down, clarity). You can see the settings that have been adjusted in the screenshots below. Does LR change what it considers shadows/highlights based on the histogram, or are there standard settings? If this is the case, it would be much better for timelapsers if Lightroom had standard values for what is considered shadows/highlights, so that two pictures where the only difference is a person walking on the street or not, would look the same with the same editing settings applied. What I find strange if LR works like I´m asking here, why does the picture get darker whether it is a white boat or a black bird changing the histogram slightly. Shouldn´t they then have the opposite effect of each other?
Any ideas what is causing the difference, and what I can do about it? Thanks!

Where can I find the Frame API for CAN

Hello,
I'm fairly new to labview and working with CAN Buses. I am trying to read messages from a CAN Bus. I downloaded some examples from the web site, and I ran the programs, but it seems like I am missing a bunch of VI files for example, "ncConfigCANNet.vi" or "ncOpen.vi", all of which are part of the Frame API. I am wondering, where I can get these files, as I have been searching all over the web only to find nothing.

Have you installed the NI-XNET driver ? If yes, have you checked the NI-XNET Compatibility Library for NI-CAN ?

At what point does iM 09 reputedly drop the 2nd frame of video

Reading the boards it seems to be accepted that iM 09 drops every other frame of video in it's processing as opposed to iMHD 6 which is reputed to produce superior video quality.
At what point in the video processing does iM 09 skip that second frame? Is the quality lost when initially transferring the video info into the program or when the edited info is transferred to iDVD for burning?

iMovie 'drops' the frames of video footage that is in DV format upon export of the video, not import. All the frames are imported, but not used when iMovie is 'shared.'
That is what Steve Mullen addresses in his 'fix' to get best quality with DV footage in iMovie 9. See his comments in this thread: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1882630&tstart=0
WAAAAY down in the comments, he says:

Inconsistent Duplicate Frames in Video

Hi. I have a feature already edited and completed with a master video in 720x480 16:9, 29.97 FPS. A long and complicated story takes place however when it comes to frame rates. I shot the feature in 24p 2:3:3:2 advanced pulldown, captured with iMovie (which doesn't remove pulldown) and edited the whole thing with five duplicated frames per second (in a 29.97 FPS sequence in FCP). Once I was done with the edit, I realized that I couldn't convert to 24p because the 2:3 patterns were Scattered because every time I cut a shot the pattern would change. So I figured it was a lost cause until last night when I played back a test DVD in the DVD Player App. And it somehow played in 24p! It removed the randomly scattered duplicate frames, played back at 23.98 FPS, and did it so fast I couldn't tell that it did until the motion of the video looked slightly more cinematic (opposed to the jerky 29.97 FPS with duplicates) I took the DVD and put it in a DVD player and there was no luck. Same ol' duplicate frames appearing with no consistent pattern.
My question is, how do I achieve this Before I encode so I can play on DVD players in 24p?
Somehow recognize the duplicates (which have no consistent pattern, have no "flags" for pulldown removal, so it's part of the video), remove them, and conform to 23.98 FPS.
I'm aware that the NTSC signal is 29.97 FPS, but certain Progressive scan DVD players can do their magic and make it look 24p on a TV.

Never used iMovie or iDVD myself but DVDs are fully capable of playing 24fps media. Without any experience with those apps, I'm just guessing--GUESSING-- that the original footage retained its 24 flags. However, shooting 24fps is rarely actually achieved with consumer gear and you do not name your camera or original shooting format. Most 24fps is baked on top of a 29.97 codec.

How to remove the frame from an ActiveX Web Browser window

I'm using a web browser window to display content from a web application in my LV front panel. I'd really like the content to appear as native parts of the front panel rather than being inside a frame. Is there a method that will allow me to hide or remove the frame from the ActiveX control? I've tried to make it a custom control and edit the decoration out but that does not seem to work.

Quite right, in my 8.2 the web browser is already borderless (probably transparent). If your web browser window doesn't look good you should be able to insert it into the activeX one, the other should be a special case.

I'm using a MacbookPro so can't right click to highlight (as was suggested in this forum for the same problem) and can't seem to highlight that area. What do I do?

When using the Clip Trimmer, you click DONE to indocate that you are finished.
The Trim To Selection is a great tool and I use it all the time, but you use it in the main project timeline, not the clip trimmer. Just select the frames you want so that the yellow border is around them. Then right-click and select Trim to Selection.

I need some help removing light from a stage light from the shot.

Recently I shot a music video in a location that worked really well.
However upon uploading the footage onto Adobe Premiere CS6 onto mac and looking back at the footage there is a huge stage light that is on in the corner of the shot,
(rookie framing error I know!)
Naturally the huge stage light (which is yellow/white) was producing a lot of light flare.
I was wondering if there was any way of seriously reducing or, if possible, completely removing the light that the stage light is producing?
Any Ideas?

I thought when dealing with AWTcomponents suchs as Frames, everything is already running on the event-dispatch thread.
As far as my understanding goes it is only with swing components (which is what the article you posted is about) such as JFrames, JButtons,etc that are required to be put in the event dispatched thread....

Definitlely have it looked at. That could be a hardware deffect on the maker(apple) so there could be a definite replacement option.

Vs2010 azure project remove instead of unload now cannot find a part of the path build error

I know this isn't a vs online question but I wasn't sure where else to post this one...
I have an azure project built in vs2010 with a web role and worker role project. I accidently removed the worker role project then re added through 'add existing project'. Now when I try and build I get

I don't know why this worked but I made a copy of the solution. When I opened the solution it had lost a reference to one dll (Windows Storage I think). I added that, then it builds ok now.
