  • What is the best way to remove Logic Pro 9 after installing X?

    That's the question. I did not install all the extra content from the boxed set of Pro 9.
    I read once that removing these pro applications wasn't as simple as just dragging the Application icon to the trash.

    On my Mac Pro where there really are Logic projects I have left it. On a laptop I have no projects and have one copy of Logic for perusing and learning and toying with. It's that laptop I want to remove Logic 9 from.
    Google gets you a list of about 25 things you should manually remove including receipts and god-knows-what.
    A call to Apple yesterday got me an agent who really didn't know and sent me an info article she said would tell me exactly. It literally said to remove the Preferences file. It was a troubleshooting document!
    But after a little frustration on my part she put me on hold. When she came back she said the new one would use resources of the old and so I should only delete the icon of the Application itself. It's only 800 or so MB as compared to the 30 GB or so of the original install. I thought the sounds in X were new and didn't want so many files hanging around.
    But I did only that, I trashed the Application icon only. And it took quite awhile to actually delete with a progress bar going across very slowly. Perhsps it took along many other things. I should have checked the total space remaining before and after.
    But really the question is still unanswered. For instance; Logic Node. Do I need that for X only? I'm sure there are many others. It's crazy Apple's tech faked her way through.

  • G5 2.3ghz power supply removal? Do I need to remove Logic board 1st?

    Power supply partially expired on my 2.3GHz G5. Have found a donor. Manual says remove logic board before power supply. But you could remove power supply with board in situ on older G5s...........any ideas?

    I've heard of some trying, possibly succeeding.
    However, I wouldn't want a damaged logic board with my new PSU........

  • Should I remove Logic 8 before installing Logic 9

    Hi guys, I just purchases Logic Studio (Logic 9) and I am ready to upgrade from Logic 8. Now I want to be sure I don't get duplicate files. Is it safe to install Logic 9 without removing 8, or would it be better to remove Logic Studio 8 and all of the content before installing 9?
    If so, what is the best way to remove Logic 8?
    Thanks!

    Hi there,
    Happy New Year!
    Installing Logic Studio 9 won't create duplicates,you can leave Logic Pro 8 on your system.
    If so, what is the best way to remove Logic 8?

  • Is it safe to remove Logic 9 after installing Pro X

    As the title says - is it safe to remove Logic 9 after installing Pro X? It is really taking up a lot of room on my computer.
    Will I lose much (if anything?)???
    Thanks in advance!
    Tom

    As octopi said, it's hardly worth it....
    But...
    Certainly don't use App Zapper...... or anything similar..... you will likely end up having to reinstall LPX and all it's additional content again and end up still using up almost the same amount of disk space in the end.
    If you really have to save space, delete any Apple Loops that you feel you wont need and leave the rest, well alone.

  • Removing Logical Networks and Subnets from Hyper-V Host Network Adapters that are greyed out

    Hello All
    I am new to SCVMM 2012 R2 and I have create a Hyper-V Cluster and now creating Logical Networks and Port Profiles and Logical Switches. I have figured out how to create all of them properly now, but I have made some mistakes in the past. I have a Logical
    Switch created and assigned to network adapters on the hosts. Now I am trying to add the other switches to other adapters, but I have associations on network adapters to Logical Switches and Subnets that are not correct and need to be removed so I can add
    the correct ones, but in the console the network adapters that I need to work with the information is grayed out and I can't change the information.
    I am not an expert at Powershell. Below you can see a Logical Network and Sunets associated
    to a Network adapter. Can someone help figure out how to remove the information so I can assign the correct Logical Network?
    I woul so much appreciate this. I know there is a way to do this in
    PowerShell but I don't know Powershell that much. I
    am savoing all the
    powershell scripts ever time I configure something in SCVMM but I have had no luck trying to
    revearse what I did.
    Help Please

    This shows that an Uplink profile associated with this host, links to these logical networks. In order to remove this successfully, you must remove the logical switch and uplink deployed to the hosts.
    For a complete overview and guidance on the required configuration, have a look at the whitepaper we created.

  • Error when trying to remove logical systems using SALE

    Hello,
    We are trying to remove obsolete entries from the logical system name table using transaction SALE. When doing this, for some entries, I am getting a message:
    The logical system GB1MATDEV is still used in distribution model SUBSYSTEMS (client 010).
    Confirm that the logical system GB1MATDEV is really no longer used. Delete it first from distribution model SUBSYSTEMS (client 010), then delete it here.
    So in client 010, I tried to delete the entry from the distribution model (t-code BD64), and I get another message:
    Action cannot be carried out on the nodes selected.
    It seems that I am stuck. Any ideas on how to resolve this?
    Regards,
    Michael Dube

    Dear Michael
    "So in client 010, I tried to delete the entry from the distribution model (t-code BD64), and I get another message:
    Action cannot be carried out on the nodes selected."
    You need to delete the lowest possible node first, if you select the top node you get this type of error.
    You need to expand the node and then delete the smallest part of the node first and work your way up until you can delete the node itself.

  • How to remove logical standby database configuration cleanly

    Hello,
    We are on RHL with 11.2.0.3 DB version. Due to various unknown reasons we would like to recreate logical standby database and for that purpose I would like to cleanly remove/uninstall/drop LOGICAL STANDBY DATABASE from the DATA GUARD configuration we have.
    The DG setup already has 1 PHYSICAL STANDBY DATABASE which is working fine. PRIM,PHYSICAL, and LOGICAL all are on different HOSTS. Could you please guide or suggest us exact MOS Doc id regarding this? I have found one MOS Doc id which is close enough but its steps include removing dg configuration completely which I don't want. Only Logical Standby database needs to be remove cleanly so that it can be installed again properly.
    We are using GRID CONTROL and DATA GUARD BROKER.
    Bundle of thanks in advance.

  • How do I properly remove Logic VSTs?

    I'm running Logic 9 at the moment, and a friend installed a torrented version of Gladiator 2 on my MB to see how it would sound. I do actually have an official copy of Gladiator 2 back home but I'll only be home in May.
    So. This torrented Gladiator loads but does nothing even after locating the .t2k file. To cut a long story short, I'm trying to uninstall it because I don't want it to cause problems when I try to install the proper, paid-for Gladiator later on. I got rid of the *.component file, and there don't seem to be any Gladiator-related files left in the /Library/Audio subfolders but every time I start up Logic, Gladiator is still on the list of plugins so it *must* be reading from somewhere. I can disable it, but that's not exactly removing...
    Are there any other folders I might be overlooking? Help would be appreciated, thanks!

    Problem solved! Turns out there were a few hidden files I needed to get rid of as well.

  • How to remove Logic 8

    Does anyone on this forum have a list of all of the assets that need to be removed for complete uninstall of Logic 8? I have to run Pro Tools 7 and I know that Logic embeds some files that conflict with Pro Tools. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    It does?
    Edit: googled this
    According to an official Apple statement:
    "Pro Tools version 7 contains significant changes to the Digidesign Audio Engine that make it incompatible with current versions of Logic Pro 7 using TDM. If you plan to use Logic Pro 7 with your TDM system, it is strongly recommended that you continue to use Pro Tools version 6.9.x.
    To use Pro Tools 7 on the same system as Logic Pro, it would be necessary to create a separate startup partition, maintaining Pro Tools 6.9.x on one partition for use with Logic Pro, and installing Pro Tools 7 on the other.
    This document will be updated as more information becomes available."
    So unless there's another issue, ProTools messes up Logic, not the other way round.

  • Removing Logic 9 Serial

    Hey,
    I've been trawling around for what seems like forever looking for a way to remove the Logic 9 serial.
    I'm selling my old mac for an upgrade and wanted to make sure I wiped the old ones serial...
    So far, all I can find is the way to remove the Logic 8 one, and it's not in the same place...
    Anyone got any ideas?!
    Thanks,

    If you are selling a used machine, I'd probably wipe the whole hard drive and reinstall the OS just to be on the safe side.

  • For uninstall or to remove Logic Express 8-0-2

    Concerning Logic Express 8.0.2:
    I want to remove my PowerBook PC G4, the application Logic Express 8.0.2 which currently takes too much space to me and of which I do not have the utility of it.
    With this intention; I made:
    - Firstly: I removed the application Logic Express of “APPLICATIONS” Macintosh HD.
    - Secondly: I removed in LIBRARY SUPPORT APPLICATION file LOGIC.
    Into final, I note that there remains to me still an occupation of memory of Software LOGIC EXPRESS, approximately 2.5 Gigas which I do not manage to find and to remove.
    Can-you like it, to help me and to indicate to me in which files these relative informations for a total uninstall of LOGIC EXPRESS.
    Where then I to find the 2.5 Gigas which is still in my system?
    For your information, I do not have any project of creates with the application Logic Express which I never used.
    Thank you.

    This [thread|http://www.macosxaudio.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=45428] gives a list of all the support files and where they are.
    Most of your lost HD space is probably Apple loops: if you're planning on using Garage Band, you'll need them but if not, you can trash all the loops too.

  • Removing Logic / Dynamic logic

    Hello all... this is something I have been thinking about for a few weeks and every once and a while I get inspired to see if I can find a simple solution to a rather annoying (but not critical) problem I am having with a bit of code... and in fact... I run into this more than a few times a year (so hell... maybe there's a design pattern out there somewhere...)
    Anyway... here's the deal.
    I have an EJB that accepts a WDDX string, which I deserialize into a Hashtable (very basic)...
    Then I loop through the Hashtable looking at the keys and in this case I build a dynamic SQL statement based on the keys that are present in the Hashtable.
    So I have a bit of code that looks like this:
    if (key.equalsIgnoreCase("foo")) {
        if (sqlStatement.length() == 0)
            sqlStatement.append("where foo = '" + hash.get(key) + "' ");
        else
            sqlStatement.append("and foo = '" + hash.get(key) + "' ");
    }Of course the above is a very simple example... sometimes I have to look at the value as well...
    Basically... my code gets HUGE! I mean... if I have to check for 20 or so keys... that gets to be a bit crazy... and I hate having to scroll through that much code :)
    So, what I am wondering is... is there a design pattern... technique... method... black magic/black box trick to make this logic more dynamic? What I have been thinking is if I could have a configuration file-like construct... almost like a rules file or something similar to that.
    Any hints, tips, tricks, advice, swift kick in the backside for asking something that is probably very obvious... would be greatly appreciate.
    ./dave

    If you know the keys that you're looking for can't you
    use an array? For Example - put the keys into a
    string[] :
    private String[] keys = new String[] {"aaa", "bbb",
    "ccc", "ddd", "eee", "foo", "ggg", "hhh", "iii"};
    ... snipped ...
    Heh.. thanks! I actually started doing that, but it became as big of a mess as my original concept because... and I know I didn't state this in my example... that I may have to do a bit more complex logic on a key I have in a hash... like if a key is of a certain value... i have to append a String variable so that I can do a certain outter-right join as part of the query I'm building...
    Here's an actual example (snipped from my EJB)
    else if (key.equals("SELECTYEAR")) {
        if (criteria.length() == 0)
            criteria.append("WHERE v.model_yr = '"+value+"' ");
        else
            criteria.append("AND v.model_yr = '"+value+"' ");
        ordIDJoin = "AND o.ord_id = oi.ord_id";
        configIDJoin = "AND oi.veh_config_id = v.veh_config_id";
    else if (key.equals("ORD_STAT_CD"))
        if (value.indexOf(LIST_SEPARATOR) > 0)
            if (criteria.length() == 0)
                criteria.append("WHERE o.ord_stat_cd IN ("+value+") ");
            else
                criteria.append("AND o.ord_stat_cd IN ("+value+") ");
        else
             if (criteria.length() == 0)
                criteria.append("WHERE o.ord_stat_cd = "+value+" ");
             else
                criteria.append("AND o.ord_stat_cd = "+value+" ");So... now (I think) you can see why I need something that can handle a bit more complexity when deciding how to append my sql statement StringBuffer
    Thanks for responding! :)

  • Upgraded to Logic 9, can i remove Logic 8?

    Hey all
    I've just upgraded to Logic 9, can i uninstall Logic 8 to free up some room or is it still needed to run LP9? For some reason I have 3 versions of Logic in my applications now - Logic Pro, Logic Pro 8 and Logic pro 9.0.0.
    Any ideas?

    Logic Pro = 9.1.3 and the rest speaks for itself. You can delete the older versions, but there's no need - in fact, I would keep them in case any project created with those earlier versions won't open properly in 9.1.3. Once you've verified that all your (old) projects open properly in 9.1.3, you can trash them. But again, you don't have to, it won't interfere in any way.
    You can also create a new folder within the applications folder and put the unused versions in there. They will still function normally if you'ld open them from there.
