Removing mail that cannot be send

I have a problem with my e72 mail, (who hasn't you would almost think after reading all the topics) I had set my e-mail so I send al mail to another mailadres of myself, but it didn't send ik because the settings were wrong. But now it keeps saying every now and then that it cannot send the mail, and the navigator key keeps giving a sign. Where can I remove this mail, because it isn't in the outbox.
hoping for a answer, because it's quite annoying.

If you want to show the contents of the email it's better just to copy and paste them here. However, as it's come from a .ru address it is, as you say, obviously a scam and you should delete and ignore it. There is a lot of this sort of thing going on, as scammers attempt to get into your ID and iCloud/iTunes accounts.
If you feel like reporting it, Apple's instructions are:
If you receive a suspicious email, select the message text so that it is highlighted. Choose Forward as Attachment from the Message menu (OS X Mail) or the Actions menu (Outlook). Send the email to [email protected] This provides Apple's legal department and law enforcement with useful information to help prevent future phishing emails.
Posting an image in this case isn't the most useful way of showing it, but if you want to post images in future you need to use the camera icon in the toolbar of the 'new posts' field: images must be .jpg or .png. You can't just paste an image in.

  • I use the same e-mail account on my PC and ipad.  Lately I have been getting an e-mail that says no sender with no content and a date of 1969.  It shuts down some of my e-mails and goes away later.  this does not occur on my PC

I keep getting on my e-mail a no sender with a date of 1969, wipes out my e-mails temporarily but doesn't happen on my PC?

Try turning the account off and on : Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars , then tap the account on the right, slide Mail to 'off', exit settings and go back into the Mail app, and then go back to Settings and slide Mail back to 'on'
If that doesn't work then try closing the Mail app via the iPad’s multitasking bar (I'm assuming that your iPad is on iOS 7) : double-click the home button to open the taskbar and then swipe or drag the Mail app's 'screen' up and off the top of the screen to close it, and click the home button to close the taskbar.
And do a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

    Welcome to the Apple community.
If you are unable to remember your password, security questions, don’t have access to your rescue address or are unable to reset your password for whatever reason, your only option is to contact Apple ID Support, upon speaking to an operator you should explain that your problem is related to your Apple ID, this way you will not be charged for assistance, even if you don’t have an AppleCare plan.
You will need to show patience with the procedure and be prepared to demonstrate without question that the account belongs to you. Don’t expect access to be restored immediately and if you aren’t the owner of the Apple ID registered to the device the account won’t be reset.

Never seen anything like it.  Do iPads get virus'?
Thanks for any help.  I've never used this before.
    Linda

There are no viruses for the iPad. Close the mail app and reboot the iPad.
Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the Mail app and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

You may have more than one Apple ID that shares the same email address.
Try one of the following to resolve the issue:
This error message means that your email address is already associated with another Apple ID. It could be tied to GameCenter, iTunes Store, or another Apple ID. Try using your Apple ID for those services to log in to FaceTime on your device.
If you wish to use a separate Apple ID for FaceTime, unlink the email address from any other Apple ID before trying to set it up as a separate Apple ID for FaceTime.
If you would like to change your Apple ID to another email address, go to My Apple ID and follow the instructions in this article to change your Apple ID.

  • Windows 8.1 Mail App - Cannot Send Mail

The fact that this problem has been ongoing for TWO+ YEARS with no clearly defined fix makes me want to take my SP3 back to the store and go buy an iPad, even though I hate Apple products. I think I'm voicing the frustrations of the people here when
I say that I've been searching for over an hour with no possible fix in sight, and an apparently apathetic Microsoft.
    Dear Microsoft,
Your Mail App STILL has this issue: it randomly decides that it won't send any mail and so every outgoing e-mail sits in the Outbox of the app. This seems to be some kind of password-crossing issue where multiple passwords from multiple accounts get switched.
However, I've been searching for over an hour and CANNOT find a fix to this problem despite the many unanswered/unresolved forums and questions regarding this 2+ yr old problem.
By the way, thank you so much for removing the ability to go into Settings > Account within the Mail App and change the password. Now I have no idea how to fix your issue even manually. Please put the setting back so I can fix it, or just release a version
of the Mail App which WORKS.
    Thanks a bunch,
    Twixte
In the meantime, has anyone else figured out how to temporarily resolve this annoying issue? Is there a setting I can change or do I just need to completely disconnect my Microsoft account from my SP3 before I can actually send mail again?

    Hello Twixte,
Do you receive any error message when the Mail App fails to send the email?
Please refer to the following article about troubleshooting the problems with Windows Store app.
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-HK/windows-8/what-troubleshoot-problems-app
    1. Download and run the Apps troubleshooter.
    2. Make sure the app isn’t blocked by Windows Firewall
    3. Try to uninstall and reinstall the Mail app.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

    Hi,
Do you mean Send as Attachment button under File>Save & Send>Sending Using E-mail
in Office applications, like Excel or Word?
Is this an issue that come up recently? Have you ever made any changes to your system?
If you have installed multiple e-mail programs on the same computer, please try to make Outlook the default mail client and then try again:

Problem: Cannot send mail unless Password is transmitted insecurely & Port is set to 587.. Can receive mail but can't send Code 501..
Need help with T-bird.. My OS is Win XP-64..Have been using Mozilla for about 10 years with little or no problems.. This happened when I upgraded to 3.17.. Spent hours on T-Bird diagnostics web site.. Called Comcast & talked to a net tech.. he ran some tests on his end & had me log into my Comcast e-mail account & all worked well,, so he concluded the problem was in T-Bird.. He had me change my port to 587 & disable connection security & authentication to none & I was able to send mail.. That was all he could do.. Comcast was working.. the problem is in T-Bird.. Can any one help with this problem.. I don't want to send mail with my password transmitted insecurely..
    Thanks
    Richard

It was not intended to be "snide". You said two separate things that at face value would be out of the ordinary.
I considered if it might be a typo for 31.7. Since 31.5 is the current formal release, I would have to thank you for volunteering to test a pre-release beta version. If it was truly 3.1.7 then it would appear that you have chosen, or have become stuck with a somewhat ancient version. In either case it's harder to reach out to you with any meaningful comments or advice. However I do watch various other sites and newsgroups and I don't see a clamour of distressed users, so it seems fair to suppose that this feature isn't actually broken in 31.7.
And you said XP 64. XP is obsolete and no longer supported and if there is a 64-bit version, then again you have set yourself apart from the mainstream.
I had a look at the comcast site and found some puzzling recommendations. Some users come here asking how to set up a secured connection in Thunderbird when it isn't offered by the server. Comcast are different, in that they mention the ports 143 and 587, and also 993 and 465. So far so good, in that security is actually on offer, but they also suggest that you enable SSL, regardless of which port is being used. It would be unusual and unconventional to offer TLS or SSL on ports 143 and 587. STARTTLS would be more credible on these ports.
Have you tried IMAP on 993 and SMTP on 465? SMTP on 587 with SSL, or TLS, is not impossible, but is improbable.

  • E-mail error:  Cannot Send Mail:  The sender address was invalid

I can receive e-mail but cannot send it. Everything goes to my outbox. I did not change any settings. Nothing has changed that I know of. For months I could send e-mail -- now I cannot. I even e-mailed myself, and it says the sender address is invalid. Can anyone help? Thanks!

The "Recipient addresses are invalid" message is misleading.
Most ISP's don't allow you to send email through their SMTP server unless you are A) on their network (e.g. connected via wi-fi to a cable connection provided by your ISP) or B) you authenticate to their SMTP server.
On Blueyonder here in the UK (my ISP), you can send via their SMTP server from the iPhone over 3G as long as you authenticate to it. I setup my Mac mail to authenticate on outbound email sent via smtp.blueyonder.co.uk and it works fine. I then synced the mail settings to my iPhone and it works fine (although a little slow to send).
Alternatively your cellular provider usually runs their own SMTP server to which you will also have to authenticate, and you can send through it. For the iPhone in the UK O2 are the exclusive provider, and they have the smtp.02.co.uk gateway.

  • Returned mail that I didn't send!

Within the last few days, I have been receiving a large number of undeliverable mail returns on messages I haven't sent. My Mail program seems to have been taken over by what appears to be an unsavory spammer. Does anyone know how this might have been accomplished, and how I can remove whatever it is that's allowing this to happen? (Virus Barrier hasn't found anything amiss.)

    William,
Just to make the good advice that Topher offered absolutely clear, your Mail program did not send these messages, but rather some PC somewhere with your email address in the AB is sending messages, "spoofing" yours as the From address, and probably all other addresses found on that PC.
The returned messages are those that were sent to a currently stale address found in the PC.
    Ernie
