Removing old samba share from automount at login ?

Hi,
On both my imac and mac mini I get a message at login that it has failed to find the share/server "monika", an old samba share I had that's since been replaced with an afp share on a synology box.
How do I get rid of this message. I've tried looking at finder preferences, account preferences and done a good search of the web but can't find out how to do this.
Any help would be great

go system preferences > accounts > login items. if there is an entry for the share in your login items, remove it with the little "-" sign.

Why we may never know, but you can't delete it. Right-click on the toolbar & choose customize toolbar. Drag that Share button off into a cloud of smoke & click done. No more share button.

I am just wondering how to efficiently and safely remove the old backup files from time machine? I tried once with command, but it damaged my extra-disk... Does Lion OSx have fixed that?

Blue-
Time Machine will automatically delete back-ups as the need for space arises. If you want to delete a certain file (application, document, whatever) and have it gone for good you can do that as well.

Hi, I want to remove a username from the skype login screen on a Samsung Smart TV, but haven't found any way of doing it. I managed to remove a username on a laptop PC by looking up the Skype help but that method doesn't seem to work on the Smart TV - anyone got any suggestions? Thanks

There is a way of doing this, but it involves resetting ALL of the smarthub back it's default state - which would mean that you would have re-install any other apps that you have downloaded.
To do this, go to the SMART HUB menu and press the TOOLS button on the remote. WHen the menu appears, select the SETTINGS option and then RESET. You'll need to enter your PIN (if set) before you can reset the SMART HUB back to its factory default state. When it's completed, Smart Hub will update itself next time you go back to it, and you'll notice that all of the Skype Names are now removed from the sign in screen.

Thanks for the question. After you change your Apple ID, you’ll want to follow these directions for updating the iCloud account on iOS devices:

- If you signed out before changing your Apple ID, enter your current Apple ID to sign in. The data from your iCloud account will download to your device.

1. Scroll down and tap Delete Account. Depending on what iCloud options are turned on, you'll be asked to confirm that you want to delete data from your device. To confirm, tap Delete. (If you're using iOS 7 and have Find My iPhone turned on, you'll be asked to enter the password for your previous Apple ID. Enter the password, then tap Turn Off.) The data will be deleted from your device, but not from iCloud.
2. Enter your current Apple ID to sign in. The data from your iCloud account will download again to your device.

i was losing temper looking for an answer for this. at the end the trick is that you need to show the side bar then only your library will list the apps menu for you to access & start doing the deletion huhhhhh..
Itunes > view (menu bar) > show side bar > under library select apps > all apps list either active & deleted on your device will be displayed in tile view > then you start to delete by right clicking> finally empty recycle bin >

Unable to Access OS X Samba Shares (from Win98 machine) after 10.4.6

I've got a Windows 98 machine networked with my Mac. Under OS X, I used Share Points to setup shares on the Mac, which I was able to access fine from the Windows 98 (not SE) machine. Until I installed 10.4.6. Now when I try to access the same shares from Win98, I'm asked for a password. When I enter the password, it says resource not available.
I'm pretty sure it's got something to do with Windows 98 because I hooked up a Win XP notebook and was able to access the shares on OS X using the same password (that failed when trying to access from 98).

I don't know if this will help, but I have discovered that with AFP access, passwords are now case sensitive, whereas they were not in 10.4.5 and earlier. I went to the Windows Server and looked at how the username and password was set up for access, and saw that they were set up with both having initial caps and the rest lower case. In 10.4.5 and earlier, we were logging in over the network with all lower case on both without a problem. With 10.4.6, we have to type them both with initial caps. I banged my head against the wall and spent several days on these forums looking for this answer with no results. Today our part time PC IT guy was in and I asked him if he had any suggestions, and within 3 minutes he had solve my problem.

When you look at the Properties panel, you see ALL available images for the buttons. (Assuming that you are referring to to the stock images supplied by Captivate)
Is this the list you are trying to clear?
If so, it's the same list you see with any project Captivate creates.

Can you remove Old Backup files from Time Machine sooner?

So I'm aware that the default settings state that Time Machine will start to delete old backup files from your saved destination once that destination starts to approach full storage capacity. But what if you are not looking to fill up most of your storage capacity with Time Machine backups? Is there a way where you can cut the delete threshold in half and have Time Machine delete old backup files sooner rather than later?

Remove OLD Slave iFolders from iFolder Master

I have a old iFolder slave server that appears unders "Servers" when viewing servers in the iFolder 3.7 server administration tab. This server is no longer around. When you click on the server it returns an error.
How does one go about removing a "dead" iFolder slave server that appears in the Servers listing of iFolder servers?
I want to "delete" the last three servers from appearing in the list of iFolder server.

Removing old exchange servers from AD with ADSIEdit

I know this has been discussed MANY times but I wanted to know if the only place these are stored is under CN:Server under Microsoft Exchange? I know this isn't the recommended way but I need to get these removed so I can re-use the old names.

Old samba share information cached?

I had an aging linux server that I recently replaced with more up to date hardware. The new box has the same IP as the old box, but has a new hostname. I set samba up on the new box using the same smb.conf file that was used on the old box (with the new hostname, of course).
The server appears in the left frame of my finder window, and I am able to connect to the server and see the available share. When I try to access the share, I get the following error message:
The operation cannot be completed because the original item for "/" cannot be found.
I've done some poking around on google, and have come up with very little. The only thing I can think of is that somehow a security key has been cached somewhere, and OS X is freaking out when it is getting different information back on a "known" IP - something similar to the RSA key associated with SSH servers.
Thoughts?

Some more information:
I changed the server's IP to one that has never been used on my network before. Still got the same error message.
I can still connect to my other SMB shares without any issues.

Cant remove old IDE drive from G4 Mac!!!

Guys, if any of you MAC experts can help me out with this, I'd appreciate it.
I'm having a really wierd problem:
I completely rebuilt an AGP Graphics G4 Mac.
I installed a Tempo SATA card, a SATA drive and an external firewire drive (also SATA, but connected via the firewire port).
So......once I had all the drives up and running, I used "SuperDuper" to clone the original, 30 gig IDE drive (the boot drive) to the External Firewire drive. No problem.
In "System Preferences", I set the G4 to boot up from the External Firewire drive. Shut down and restarted.
The G4 seemed to boot fine off the External Firewire drive. To check, I pulled up "about this Mac" and it said "startup drive...external" Also, the external drive now appears in the upper right hand corner of the screen.
BUT!! When I opened the case and removed the old IDE drive, and restarted, the G4 will not boot!!!
It seems to need the old IDE drive connected even tho its booting off the External Firewire drive!!!
Does anyone have ANY idea whats going on here? I really need to remove the IDE drive because its old and its gonna crap out at some point. I have to be able to boot with it out of the machine.
Do you think its still ooting off the old IDE drive even tho the system is telling me its booting off the external drive?

There may be a need to use a keyboard command for the computer to boot off an external
FireWire enclosed hard disk drive when there is an unsuitable or no internal IDE PATA drive
in the computer's case; one that forces the computer to search for a suitable boot volume
on startup. This issue may force you into further troubleshooting the computer hardware.
Perhaps the clone used in the external has some permissions issues and relies on the
presence of the original drive for validation? Some clones need to have those kinds of
permissions turned off or set to be off when the clone is made.
With a new replacement hard disk drive in the original internal drive location, a clone of
the external could be made into that new drive; and be sure the conditions of the clone
process are correct before you wipe any original disk content, so you can go back for
another clone should some error in the process require you to reference the first, again.
There is an ATA controller card in computers which may have something to do with how
multi-disk drive computers see and use additional internal items on the same bus, but
this should not affect the FireWire external's bootability, if it was natively capable of it.
On the face of it, this sounds like an odd issue. Replacing the aging old drive with one
capable of running the computer, from its original location, is probably a first step.
