Removing or deactivating CWA when one server was deleted.

I have a situation where we have a Lync 2010 environment with a trusted application setup for CWA. However, we are no longer supporting the use of CWA so I would like to properly remove it from our environment.
Normally this would be a simple matter of deactivating CWA. However, one of the CWA servers got shutdown and deleted during some sort of clean-up process without our knowledge. Is there a safe way I can make sure that machine is removed from
AD properly (as if it were deactivated) so it does not cause any conflicts down the road?
I was planning to remove the trusted application from the Lync Topology then deactivate the remaining CWA server.
Any help is appreciated.

Hi,
All of the virtual servers created on the Communicator Web Access server must be deleted before you can deactivate a Communicator Web Access server.
Deactivation also removes the server from the Communicator Web Access snap-in. However, this does not delete the Communicator Web Access files from the computer. To do that, you need to uninstall the software by using either Programs and
Features (that is, on Windows Server 2008) or Add or Remove Programs (that is, on Windows Server 2003).

Hi Umesh,
This can be one idea to check for last restart of server.
Goto Tcode sm21 and filter by date range and press the tab Reread system log if you see a continuous yellow triangle in Priorty column and the text details are like Stop WorkprocXX, PID XXXX that means the server was down at that time.
and if again you see the continuous green lights with the text like Start WorkprocXX, Pid XXXX
The time corresponding to these messages gives the time and date of the last restart of the XI server.

Session Bean Client Hangs when one Server in Cluster Fails

We are testing several failure scenarios and one has come up that concerns us.
Some background: Were running a WLS6.1 cluster on two separate machines. We
start a test client consisting of 50 active threads and let them start calling
into a session bean. After a couple minutes we pull the network plug out of one
of the machines to simulate an uncontrolled crash of the machine. Once the plug
is pulled the clients hang and of more concern any new clients that we startup
also hang. Has anyone successfully solved this problem?

When we kill one of Weblogic instances in the cluster none of the clients fail.
All of our clients fail-over to the remaining servers. It's pulling the network
plug to our of the server that causes everything to hang. Not just or test client,
but the other servers in the cluster hang. The control panel doesn't respond
at all either. We currently have a support case open with BEA #348184 about this.
We've gotten a prompt response in which we were asked to modify our configuration
by deploying our beans to each individual server rather than the cluster. We
did this, but the results so far have not changed.

ACE slowness issue when one server goes down

Hi,
We are having two application servers.Both are load balanced using ACE.
When we bring down one server, we find that when we upload some files into the second application server, its too slow.
But when primary server comes up again the performance increases.This issue happens only when we bring the primary server down.
We are using cookie based stickiness.Any ideas where we can look into.

Depending on the load-balancing algorithm or predictor that you configure, the ACE performs a series of checks and calculations to determine which server can best service each client request. The ACE bases server selection on several factors including the source or destination address, cookies, URLs, HTTP headers, or the server with the fewest connections with respect to load.

How Can I Remove a Secondary Site When The Server no Longer Exists?

This organisation deployed a new SCCM site and then decommissioned the server before successfully removing either the site or the server/roles.
I tried to force the removal of the site which failed:

The secondary site is showing in the console as 'deleting'.

I had the same issue and this is what they sent me... I used it and it worked for me.
1.       Please follow these steps to manually delete the
Secondary Site from the Secondary site server
2.       We also used the PREINST tool to remove the pending jobs.
3.       On the ConfigMgr primary site (parent) computer, click Start, and then click Run.
4.       Type cmd in the Open box, and then click OK.
5.       At the command prompt, type cd\, and then press the ENTER key.
6.       Type cd sms\bin\i386\00000409, and then press the ENTER key.
7.       To remove any pending or active jobs to a site, type Preinst /DELJOB SiteCode , and then press the ENTER key.
8.       We deleted the Secondary Site from the console of parent site.
9.       We removed the Sender Addresses from the Configuration Manager console, as explained below.
10.   Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Systems Management Server, and then click ConfigMgr Administrator Console.
11.   Locate the Site Settings\Addresses subtree.
12.   Right-click the address for the failed secondary site, and then click Delete.
13.   Then we cleaned the registry, by taking the backup of the HKLM Node

Can you confirm you have run these steps on your own SCCM 2012 site?

How to find out when an agent was deleted from scom

I can get an installed date easy enough, but I wonder if there is a log or record of when a particular agent/server was removed from monitoring in SCOM. If there is a way to get this information, please post a query. Thanks.

If you have given the access rights for two Users, who have the privi's to drop the tablespaces...and think you dont have the Option of Alert Log.
what you would do..??
Auditing...??
Tracing.. ??
I think better Option is Trace for Specific Session, which ever he is willing to you.
How does that help in this scenario and otherwise also ? No one is gonna enable trace like this for the users.

IPhones lost contacts and e-mail when activesync server was down

We have about 20 iPhone 3GS syncing to our Exchange 2003 Server running on Windows Small Business Server 2003.
All iPhones have software 3.1
All iPhones were setup to use ActiveSync using iPhone Configuration Utility
Our Exchange server went down on a maintenance restart. When it was restarted we had some unknown failure to the ActiveSync functionality between IIS and Exchange. iPhones trying to sync got an HTTP 500 Error response, which I could see from the console log of the iPhone. The error message was:

We rebuilt the Internet settings on the small business server and got the ActiveSync functionality working again. But this was after 24 hours.
All iPhones lost all e-mail during the 24 hours of ActiveSync downtime.
Approximately 60% of the iPhones lost all contacts during the downtime.
All iPhones kept their calendars during the downtime.
Other ActiveSync clients running Windows Mobile 6.1 or Symbian on Nokia N82 did not delete their contacts or e-mails during the downtime.
Is there any setting that governs this, may I say unexpected, behaviour? Makes it impossible to depend on iPhone e-mail - who knows when the Exchange Server will go down...
Does anyone know why 40% of the iPhones kept their contacts while the other 60% deleted them? They have all been purchased together and set up in the exact same manner.
I have tried to contact Apple support, but the automated voice just said that the network operator handles iPhone problems. The operator did not have a clue about Exchange servers and iPhones...

Usually once items are removed from the server, they are gone for good. Sorry to hear about the loss of contacts. We would like to check though to see if they can be retrieved. Automating the process of changing SAP servers when one server is down

Hi,
We have observed that sometimes users are unable to run a CRM IC web application due to server being down.
So we want to automate the process that if a server is down then it will change to another server so that the application can run and the downtime is reduced.

IOS contact lists revert to all when one contact is deleted

Running iOS 7.0.3 on mini. I have multiply contact lists as a result of syncing with our Exchange 2010 sp3 server. Was attempting to delete old contacts and each time I do all of my contact lists, including "suggested contacts" enable themselves. To be clear if I click on "groups" and then enable only one list to display, if I delete one contact from that list, iOS then enables all the lists and fills the contacts view with lots of extra addresses. I had this issue on 7.02 and 7.03. What is more odd is this does not happen on my 5S running 7.02. Both devices use same iCloud and Exchange accounts.

Check Settings>General>Date & Time>Set Automatically>On. Make sure that the time zone setting is also set correctly.
If that wasn't the problem, restart your iPad and try again. If that fails, reset your iPad and try again. Quit iTunes and restart your computer as well. Turn off your firewall and antivirus software when you attempt the update again.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

Can I recover FileVault data when the sparsebundle was deleted on a MacBook Pro running OSX 10.6.8?

I have a MacBook Pro that I purchased from a friend of mine. He reformatted it before giving it over to me, and he left me a couple of install files in the Downloads folder before he gave it to me. When I got it, I turned on FileVault because encrypting my data seemed like a good idea. Little did I know that it would end up biting me in the butt.
I tried to add music files from my iPod to the laptop. It didn't work properly, so I deleted those files and tried again. Same issue, and I deleted them again. I noticed, though, that the laptop acted like both copies of those files were still on board, and half my HD was filled up with almost nothing on the computer. I used Disk Inventory to find out why, and found that all that excess data was locked up in a hidden file called a sparsebundle. Disk Inventory removed that file, and then the laptop stopped working. I couldn't get my applications to run properly, and when I restarted the computer, I couldn't log in at all. I rebooted and created a new Admin account so I could get into the laptop.
Now I'm trying to recover all the files that I had put onto the laptop before I had to reboot. They appear to still be there, and I have a copy of the computer in its current state backed up through Time Machine. The programs that were on it before the reboot mostly still worked (exception Firefox, so I'll just reinstall that and hope it works).
Is there any way for me to recover the files that are currently still locked up under FileVault? I have copies of DiskWarrior 4.0 and TechTool Pro 4.6.1, but neither seems to work with OSX 10.6.8. Any help in recovering the "lost" files would be appreciated.
Alternately, if the files cannot be directly recovered: if I have to completely reinstall everything, will having the Time Machine backup of the extra programs my friend had installed let me keep those programs after a reinstallation of OS X?

How do I remove a profile account from one computer without deleting the data?

Hi! I want to delete mozilla from one computer and remove my profile account so that all of my data on this computer is deleted. But I use the same profile in mozilla on another computer and I don`t know if my profile will keep the data stored on this computer after deleting it in the other one. If you want to delete your personal data on a computer reliably then you would have to perform a secure wipe to clear the data on the hard drive.
Otherwise Windows will only mark data as deleted.
Best is to disconnect from Sync before deleting data on a computer to avoid other computers from getting affected.
You can use the Profile Manager to remove a profile.

Since there might be multiple situations per your description, so the results as I tested might be a bit different. I mean you could use either SharePoint 2010 approval workflow or SharePoint 2013 workflow task.
I created SharePoint 2013 workflow in Designer 2013 for my SharePoint 2013 site list, then added an action Start a task process, and assigned the task to User1, User2 and User3 serially.
If I add an item1 to the list, the workflow task begins with User1. Now I delete User2 from SharePoint site, and make User1 approve the task. The task is still assigned to User2, however, User2 can recieve the email notification, but he has no access to
site so that couldn't approve the task. The task Internal Staus is started.
If I add an item2 to the list, the workflow task begins with User1. Now I disable User2 mailbox from Exchange server, and make User1 approve the task. The task is still assigned to User2, however, User2 cannot recieve the email notification. The task Internal
Status is started.
Above two situation, if User2 does not finish the task, the task wont't be passed to User3. However, I can sign in via administrator account and finish the task on behalf of User2, the workflow continues working without issue.

Why is the old app version is showing even when the app was deleted and downloaded again?

There is an app that I downloaded, which we updated (as we made this app) but when we did, the updates are not showing on the app. I deleted the app and downloaded it again but still the updated version is not showing. I tried downloading the app from another phone and the updated version is showing.
I have tried to research on this and found this link which I found to be most helpful but even after following the steps the old app is still showing on my iphone 4s:

Sometimes the battery life may be at, say 80% while it is at 100% charge;
so the numbers may indicate a replacement battery is needed. An Apple
Store with genius bar, or an authorized Apple service provider could be
helpful in determining the battery and charging system health and also
provide a replacement battery. Figure a computer more than a few years
old may be due for a new battery...
If you call ahead to discuss an appointment with a genius or specialist,
be sure to note your product serial number and ask about replacement
battery availability, since that option should be present should it need to
be replaced. Not sure if they'd want to check the magsafe adapter, too.
Hopefully an SMC reset may help, if not see an authorized Apple specialist.
