Removing Outer Frame

I dont actually have a problem, i was just thinking
is it possible to remove the frame that surronds the GUI
I mean the one with the minimize, maximise, close button and title bar at the top.
the reason im interested is because i was thinking of changing the shape of the widow (rectangles are boring) and that bar is only suitable for rectangles
i wasnt sure what catergory this came under so if i put it in the wrong one then im sorry, and i like the new forum look when was it changed?

Can Compressor 4 remove duplicate frames?

I have some videos which were converted to 30fps from a lower frame count. It was obviously a simple conversion that duplicated frames as needed.
The problem is, when I use these videos for slow motion, the duplicated frames cause the slow motion to "pause". In order to fix this, I have to remove the duplicated frames (obviously I don't care about sound, and I don't care about time sync). Once the duplicated frames are removed, the slow motion is nice and smooth.
In the past, I've always done this with very short clips, so I can do it manually. I open the video in QTP, advance one frame at a time, and when I see a duplicate, I delete it. Since there's always a pattern, depending on what the lower frame rate was, this can be done reasonably quickly, for very small clips. But it's obviously a tedious process.
I was wondering a few things:
1) Can Compressor 4 fix this issue for me? I've tried a few things in Compressor, but no help yet. I'm just a relative newbie, so that's not surprising.
2) Are there any other utilities that might help? Something that removes duplicate frames, for example?
3) These clips were already converted when I received them. However, in the future, when I convert a lower fps to 30fps for the purposes of doing slow motion, how should I do this in Compressor so as to have smooth slow motion at 30fps? Again, I don't care about audio.
I've done a few days worth of searching, but I still havent found the answers. Any help will be appreciated.

The Reverse Telecine didn't remove the extra frames. Who knows - maybe the frames aren't exact duplicates, although for the most part, they look it to the naked eye, which I realize doesn't mean much.
Oh well, doing it by hand isn't the end of the world. I've probably spent more time trying to figure out an automatic method, than it would have taken to do it by hand. But of course, I'm sure I'm not the only one who's ever done that...

How to remove the frame from an ActiveX Web Browser window

I'm using a web browser window to display content from a web application in my LV front panel. I'd really like the content to appear as native parts of the front panel rather than being inside a frame. Is there a method that will allow me to hide or remove the frame from the ActiveX control? I've tried to make it a custom control and edit the decoration out but that does not seem to work.

Quite right, in my 8.2 the web browser is already borderless (probably transparent). If your web browser window doesn't look good you should be able to insert it into the activeX one, the other should be a special case.

Outer frame is loosing coating

Hi,
I can't believe this is my second post regarding issues with a 2-week old Apple! I still remember the days we bought Apples and they were plug-and-play-and-get-happy.
Anyway, now the problem is happening to the externa case: the outer frame has a kind of coating and it just starte loosing it... I started as a 'white' bubble on the black frame, it got bigger, now it looks as if it will happen on the entire computer.
I take REALLY good care of my computer, more than a person should take (really, those are only machines and handling them like a baby is pretty non-sense, but that's how I handle mine). I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced this problems too?
I'm really thinking about returning this to Apple. First is the AirPort that doesn't behave well, now this case thing. I'm a Mac user for more than 10 years, but that doesn't make me stupid enough to pay for a product that *****. More and more I have the feeling that Apple is rushing into launching new things and quality is no longer their priority. Too bad, other companies will come, just as it happened on every other industry...

Can you post pictures somewhere and put a link in this thread? I've not noticed the macbooks having any particular kind of coating, and a white bubble on a blackbook would be odd indeed.

You mean the in Windows next to the start menu? You can't unless you can do it with JNI and native code. Or use Window/JWindow and draw your own frame decorations (titlebar, icon, control buttons, etc.).

30 fps shot into 24 fps sequence w/out frame removal

I want to cut a 30 fps shot into my 24 fps sequence, but I don't want to lose any frames. Instead, I'm prepared to have the shot play at 80% speed (24/30 = .8). But I can't figure out how to do this. If I simply cut the shot into the sequence frames get lost. How would I go about this?

Well, that is a viable option for DVCPRO HD footage that is 59.94 that you want to convert to 23.98 slow motion. It transfers frame for frame and slows it down. But, because of the results you got, I think that might be behavior limited to DVCPRO HD.
Then I don't know what you can use. After Effects perhaps?

How do I remove residual frames at the beginning and end of a video?

I'm making a short clip with black slugs at the beginning and end. But there are two or three residual frames from the incoming clip after the black clip that stay at the beginning and end of the video and I can't remove them. I've tried trimming the beginning and end of the video several different ways, and the frames won't disappear. They stay in the video when I make a DVD. The very first and very last frame have sprocket holes in them on the edge of the frame. I'm baffled. Is this an artifact of using the trial version?

chances are they are from a fade. have you zoomed in really really close and checked if there is a small fade in or fade out? happens to me all the time, and with the fade out, you can't do anything to fix it (that I've found) except replacing the clip from your Browser. FCP5 removes last frame from any 23.98fps movie

I'm having an issue with 23.98fps Quicktimes in FCP. When I play the clip in Quicktime, the frame count is correct. When the same movie is opened in the FCP viewer or dropped in a bin, FCP removes the last frame. For example, say I have 2 clips, identical in every way except for frame rate:
Clip A - 720p Photo-JPEG 120 frames 24fps
Clip B - 720p Photo-JPEG 120 frames 23.98fps
In QT7, both clips play correctly, contain all frames, and are reported in the info window to be 5 seconds exactly. In FCP Clip A, plays correctly, contains all frames, and has a reported length of 00:00:05:00. Clip B is missing the last frame and has a reported length of 00:00:04:23.
I have done this same test with a 480 frame clip as well with the same results. QT7 reports 20 seconds, FCP reports 00:00:19:23.
I have had this problem with quicktime movies from different sources as well, not just QT movies I have created. It is imperative that I find out what is causing this issue. If anyone can offer any suggestions/answers at all, it would be much appreciated.

i can't offer any explanation, but i can offer what might be a work around. i am assuming you need to work at 23.98 and that you are receiving exact frame count files.
if you receive files @ 24fps which are correct, try using cinema tools to "conform" these files to 23.98 ... just open the file from within cinema tools and hit the conform button. i'd be interested to know if these conformed files maintain the correct frame count.
a guess might be that the export or transcode process might be the source of the error.

Premiere Elements auto removing black frames?

I edited a file in Premiere Elements, inserting 15 frames of black at stratgegic points, and exported as Quicktime. I then ran the resulting file through a professional transcoder to convert to an MPEG-2 transport stream. When played back on an MPEG player (i.e., VLC) the .5 sec of black is where it's supposed to be, but if I reimport it back into Premiere Elements the black frames are mostly removed (2 out of 15 remain at each point). Why does it do this and how to prevent it? (I imported the MPEG back into Premiere to verify that there was no drift in the timeline caused by the export and transcoding process, since the black frames need to be synchronized with an ad inserter, but Premiere is removing the black frames.)

Did you Import the MPEG-2 Video? If so, it's most likely a GOP thing, when PrE internally converts to I-frame for editing. For a bit more background on GOP, see this ARTICLE.

Removing a frame

Hi,
Couple of NEWBIE questions related to selecting frames.
Sometimes, I select start and End point of a sequence by pressing I and O in the viewer. It looks fine when I play it there, but sometimes when I move it into the timeline it shows also another frame (usually the one before the Start) is imported.
I can I avoid it?
Is there any keyboard shortcut to remove a single frame from a sequence?

Surely the easiest way to remove a single frame on the timeline is-
1. place playhead on frame to be removed.
2.just press I and O to mark In and Out (you don't even have to move the playhead forward a frame or zoom in to the timeline).
3.press backspace.
Obviously, the appropriate Auto Select tag would be highlighted on the timeline so you get the correct track if there are layers of video...
I suggest zooming right in to the playhead and observing in detail what actually happens when you press I and O, and how they relate to the position of the playhead... this would also give a hint towards the OP's problem.

Close/Remove a frame and display another

I have a frame with a JButton.
when the JButton is clicked i am displaying a new frame (By calling the instance of a GUI class).
Now i want to close/remove the old frame, once the new frame is displayed.
Can anybody help me out?

Remove blank frame in swf file?

Hi. I made a simple swf file in flash lite 1.1 with clock. But when i open it after publishing, it has that ''blank frame'', which is refreshing constantly and flikrers between my image and white background. Does anyone know how to remove it, and/or how to insert my image into the stage without being that blank frame visible? I use macromedia flash 8... In case someone wants to look at it, heres the code i used to create the clock, and my swf:

Ok, i'll try to explain. When you open Macromedia Flash, it automatically creates white stage/document. But i dont need it, so i import my own image to the stage, then i make that clock and publish swf file. Then when i open swf it blinks between white frame and my image. So im pretty sure this white frame is that white stage, created at the beginning. I just dont know how to get rid of that whit stage before i open my image, or maybe i just import my image in the wrong way, i dont know. And, no, it doesnt affect the clock, its working fine, except that it never shows the right font (if i create clock with lets say Verdana, when i open swf its always Arial). About code, i found tutorial by google, that tutorial gives me that code. I have no idea how its made and whats wrong with it, im just a beginner and trying to learn all that stuff. How to smooth dropped frames and remove duplicate frames?

What I'm trying to do is smooth out some footage of a game I recorded, which has slight framerate lag and stutters and what not. What is the best way to smooth the footage out? or at least make it look better. Frame blending isn't doing anything at all it seems, so that alone won't help

There is any number of adaptive flicker fixing third-party plug-ins like from RevisionFX, but the more random and arbitrary such issues are, the more difficult to repair or disguise them. Even the smartest effects can only take you so far...

Removing text frames from rdf export format

After a report has been exported in rdf format, can anyone tell me if there is a way to remove the text frames from the document, so that the formating is retained but by using word's tabs etc.
Our client needs to manually add sections to the document after the report has been generated and we find that because of the text frames the document formatting gets ruined when new sections are added to the file.

According to the manual there are only a very limited range of adjustments you can make to iMovie projects.
Turn iMovie adjustments on or off
When editing a project in iMovie, you can adjust several video attributes, such as exposure, brightness, and saturation, in the Project Browser. If you import an iMovie project that has these adjustments into Final Cut Pro, the adjustments are retained and appear in the Color area of the Video inspector as an iMovie item.
Although you cannot modify the adjustments added in iMovie, you can choose whether they are applied to the clip or not.
Note: Video adjustments you make to clips in the iMovie Event Browser are not retained and do not appear in Final Cut Pro.
Turn a clipʼs iMovie adjustments on or off
In the Timeline, select a clip with iMovie adjustments applied, and select or deselect the iMovie checkbox in the Color area of the Video inspector.
Note: The iMovie adjustments appear only in the Timeline, not in the Event Browser.
