Removing prewritten fields in new calendar events

I mainly want to remove the ''location'' field in my calendar but it seems to be locked somehow. I need a way
to remove or hide it. From what i have found all the web and designer allows me to do is change its description....

Just soloved the problem. All i had to do was simply not remove the fields entierly but from the view that is used when a new event is to be created. This is done in SPD. Cheers.

Where is the Note field in Mavericks' Calendar events?

Created a new event in Calendar today, but couldn't find any way to enter a note about the event. Calendar in Mavericks has a new UI that takes some getting used to, so I'm going to assume that the note function is still there. But where is it?
Bonus question: Is there any way to move the default location of the event editing panel from the upper left corner of the display to somewhere in the middle? On a 27" iMac display, the upper left corner is a rather awkward place to be editing Calendar events.

The URL field for iPhone Calendar Events is missing?

iCal on my Mac and my MobileMe Calendar both include a URL field for Events. I don't see the URL field on my iPhone Calendar events??? Am I missing something. I can't automatically have that link sync from iCal or MobileMe? I don't want to always have to manually move the URL into the Notes field.
This is a very annoying - Apple can figure out fancy Multi-tasking and App Folders for iPhone OS 4 but couldn't figure out how to add a simple URL field for Calendar Events??

I was trying to create and update the calendar event using [POST] https://outlook.office365.com/api/v1.0/me/events and [PATCH] https://outlook.office365.com/api/v1.0/me/events/<eventId> respectively.
When i try with poster or postman, I get this error

its not working . Any help will be appreciated.
Note: GET events and DELETE Events are working. I think the API with payload is not working.

I was able to make your request work fine against my Office 365 mailbox with 2 changes.
1. Can you please make sure you are adding header "Content-Type: Application/Json"?
2. Can you please make sure your end time is AFTER start time? Looks like there is a typo with your current request as the start time is on 2015-01-06 and end time is on 2015-01-05.

Why does iOs 7.0.3 (11B511) not allow invitees on new calendar events anymore? This was a key function I used for my business, I really don't like most of the "upgrades" Apple keeps making

I can't add invitees to my calendar events on my iPhone 4s, so frustrating to take that away when it's such a useful tool, why does Apple keep making these so-called "upgrades" that only make things less efficient or productive.
I wish Steve was still around!

So, it can be done, only after you set your calendar event then go back in to edit it. Seems like a brilliant idea to create an extra step now, was obviously too difficult to leave well enough alone & create more work to achieve the same task as that was far to easy before.
Great work Apple, I thought upgrades & updates were supposed to be better & benefit the user, guess not so much anymore

IPad will not send new Calendar events to MobileMe

My iPad will not send new or edited changes to MobileMe.
I have turned off syncing through iTunes to prevent multiple listings of the same event. When I add or change an event on my computer it is changed on my iPad thru MobileMe without any problems, but when I change or add an event on my iPad it is not sent back to MobileMe or to my computer.
(in Settings, Push is set to 'on' on the iPad)
How do I fix this?

Is your iPad updated to IOS 4.2, or later?
You may have to turn Calendars off/then back on. Apple - MobileMe - Set Up MobileMe
Make sure that you do not choose to remove any calendars from your iPad when turning it off. When turning it back on be sure to choose "Merge with MobileMe" to ensure that you do not lose any calendar data which has been already entered on you iPad.

When I make a new Calendar event the phone loads, and then the event disappears! How can I fix this?

On my iPhone 4 8GB unlocked (iOS 6), whenever I try to make a new event in Apples Calendar app, when I am done making the event, the phone shows a small loading circle in the top bar and when that loading circle stops the event disappears. I checked my iCloud Calendar in case it stored it there or something but no that was empty. And making an event in the iCloud Calendar app does not make it sync the event to my iPhone 4 either so I basically cannot make any events at the moment. Help!
EDIT:
I just went into the iCloud settings and saw that the Calendar iCloud sync was turned on. So I turned it off, waited, turned it back on again and now I see the events again, and I can make them without them dissapearing immediately. Stupid bug.

When I put in a new calendar event on my iphone 4 it does not sync to my iCal on my iMac.

I use icloud to sync my iCal on my iMac, iphone 4, and ipad. It usually works fine, but lately whenever I put in a new event in the calendar on my iphone, it does not sync to my ical. It does sync to my ipad. I've checked the "sync with iCal" button when i update the devices on itunes. Any other suggestions?

Click on your iMac, iCal "Calendars" button. Are there any calendars listed under the "On My Mac" category? If so, they will not sync with iCloud. After veryifying that all of your "On My Mac" events are on the iCloud calendars, I recommend backing up, and then deleting the "On My Mac" calendars.

How do i stop the alerts when I enter new calendar events

When I enter a new event in Calendar, it automaticly adds two alerts to it. One by email and one by text message. With every event, I have to go back to the event and change both of the alerts to "none". Going to Preferences - Alerts and "Turn off shared messages in Notification Center", it does not change a thing. This didn't happen until I started Snow Leopard.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The Desktop and Screen Saver preference panel has two parts and the Screen Saver section has a slider bar near the bottom: set that to Never (far right).
You might also want to use the sliders in the Energy Saver preferences, particularly putting the screen to sleep. Set that to the same as the Screen Saver otherwise a yellow warning triangle may appear. These settings are not the best, of course, so you might want to change back when your viewing is finished.

How do I change the default settings for new calendar events?

So I am relatively new to Mac. I've been using iCal in conjunction with iCloud/iPhone heavily and one thing that I found really annoying is that by default, every new event that I make has two alerts already set. One message and one email message. It's really frustrating to have to go and set both alerts to "None" everytime I make a new event. I primarily use the calendar on my iCloud-synced iPhone to view and keep track of events and the Mac to actually create the events so there's no reason for me to need alerts on the computer. Is there any way to change the preferences so that there is no default alert?

Look in the menubar, iCal > preferences > General tab > uncheck "Add a defult alert...."

Cannot push back new calendar events to Mac, duplicate calendars, more...

I'm having tons of issues with iCal and my iPhone since 2.1. New events entered on my iPhone show up in MobileMe online, but not on my Mac, ever. Duplicate calendars are starting to show up in my iPhone, and now NONE of my calendars are showing up in MobileMe (all my events are still there though). What gives Apple?

Apple, have you even read this post? MobileMe/iPhone service is terrible, simply awful. New events in my laptop calendar sometimes don't show up on my iPhone, or from my iPhone to my laptop, events are showing up twice other times, calendars are being duplicated, this is a total mess. I need this calendar to keep track of meetings and appointments, and at this rate, I simply cannot trust the iPhone to do this right.
I remember when Apple products "Just Worked". Now, they simply don't work well at all.

Can't create new calendar events through Thunderbird

Hi,
I have Lightning installed and hooked up to two Google Calendars, one for actual events (both work and personal) and one for things like local holidays and week numbers (this is a read-only calendar Google's put together).
My issue is that I can't create a new event on my personal calendar through Thunderbird. I can open the "create new event" dialog box no problem, and fill in all the details, but when I hit "Save and Close" nothing happens - the dialog box stays open, and no event is created.
I can create events in a 'local' calendar (e.g. the blank "Home" calendar that Lightning comes with as a default). I can log into my Google calendar through my browser and create events no problem, but then hitting the "synchronise" button in Thunderbird doesn't make them show up (although syncing the calendar app on my android phone, linked to the same Google Calendar, makes the new events created through the browser show up no problem).
The only other information I can offer is that on the Calendar tab in Thunderbird, on the left of the screen, there's list of the calendars my Thunderbird/Lightning has installed/synchronised: "Home" (a local calendar, basically empty but functioning), "Luke John's Calendar" (Google Calendar, the one I'm having the problem with), and "Week Numbers" (Read-only Google Calendar, I don't know if it's possible to create new events on because it's read only). Next to both "Luke John's Calendar" and "Week Numbers" are little (error?) symbols: black exclamation marks in yellow triangles, which give the rollover text "The Calendar [name] is momentarily not available."
Any suggestions for sorting this out? I'd be very grateful!

What does it mean when a subscribed calendar is corrupted?
The files iCal uses to store the calendars (.ics files) are text files. (You can look at one by exporting a calendar from iCal and opening the .ics file with a text editor.) When you subscribe to a calendar you are copying the calendar file to your hard drive. If some information is missing in the file, or the data is ordered in the wrong way, this can lead to iCal not functioning properly.
The error could be on the server or your local copy, from what you write it's hard to tell. You could try subscribing to the problem calendar from another machine to see if it has the same problem.
The usual recommendation for a local calendar (one you created) with this problem is to export and then import the calendar. This means the calendar is re-created from scratch. You can't use this solution with a calendar you are subscribed.

How to make Lion Server alert a user of new calendar event on his iPhone?

Hi!
I'm trying to make the Lion Server alert / notify a user of new events that are added to his shared calendar... Using my own iPhone, I can add and edit events on his calendar and he can see them in iCal on his iPhone, but only if he manually launch the app. What I'd like to achieve is to have the app send out an alert--like it would with reminders and apps like that--every time I add or edit an event on his calendar.
ps. Push notifications are turned on in the Server App.
