Removing short names from accounts, short names from accounts

I have noticed that short names seem to stick. i.e. if there are two short names, and I log in as one of the two (with admin rights), then authenticate to the Open Directory master, the other short name refuses to be removed/edited. What is going on here?

Assuming I've understood you correctly.
When you create a user the first shortname is automatically created as you're typing that name. Before you click Save you can amend that first shortname to something that suits your taste or needs. Once you click Save you can't amend or delete the first shortname. Even if you decide to change the User name (the long name) that first shortname won't change and can't be amended or deleted.
The only way to delete the first shortname is to delete the user and start again assuming you've made a mistake with the desired shortname and clicked Save before you decided the first shortname was not the one you wanted. You can create additional shortnames which can be edited and/or deleted at any time thereafter. What you can't do is delete the first shortname regardless of how ever many other short names you create.
If this is not what you meant and the above is not what you're experiencing and for lack of any further information I have to assume there's something wrong somewhere with either the server or the way you're using the tools to create those accounts?

Check the settings in the Accounts for Mail.
Mail > Preferences > Accounts > Click on your email Account in the left column > What appears under Full Name in the right column?
If that is the incorrect name you're describing change it to your correct name.

I would like to remove name ( LIUNI, ANTONIO_ ) (bold text and underline) from message and field "From" in notification page.
I have 2 problems below:

Should change to "A multirater has completed their appraisal of KERINS, ANNE MARY"

Removing Checklist Name from Checklist Sheet

Hi, I am trying to use the checklist template from Numbers in iWorks 08 as an inventory sheet. I have tried unsuccessfully to remove the word "Checklist" that appears at the top of the page. It is almost hidden behind the top of the columns while editing the sheet, although when I print the page I have the word "Checklist" printed above the header.
Any ideas on removing this???

Ok... I feel like an idiot. I will answer my own question in hopes that this saves someone else from having to ask.
There is a checkbox all the way to the right on the toolbar called "Name" by removing the check from this box the name "Checklist" will be removed from the checklist sheet.

Open address book. Find your own card in address book. Check if this email address is on your own card. If so, you just get your name displayed, as you and this email-address is in address book. Simply delete the email-address from your card, and you shouldn't see your name in "From" any more.

Begin by opening the iTunes program and going to the iTunes Store via the iTunes Store button in the top right.
Once you're at the iTunes Store, click on the Sign In button at the top left corner (if you're not signed in) or on your account name in the same location (if you're already signed in).
This will bring you to your iTunes account. In the top box, you'll see a section labelled Computer Authorizations towards the bottom. Next to it is a button that reads Deauthorize All. Click it.

Assuming you are not syncing with iCloud and you mean, syncing with iTunes only...(you can only use one or the other for syncing to prevent duplicates)
iTunes -
- Open iTunes on your Mac. Connect your iPad. Then click on your iPad (either its name or just "iPad"), then click the info tab (right above the photo of an iPad in the middle). From here you can select sync contacts, then sync groups, and select the groups you want and choose Apply/Sync in the bottom left corner.
iCloud -
- With iCloud if you just sign into iCloud in System Preferences and turn on Contacts, it will prompt to merge all of your contacts that are not already syncing with Gmail or Yahoo!, etc. so there really isnt a way to pick and choose as much with that.
- However if you really want to use iCloud and not iTunes, you could import the contacts that you want into iCloud.com, but you would need to export them from your Contacts App on your Mac and then import them into iCloud (VCard / .VCF is the format you want).
