Removing Standard UI Element in WD Component

Hi,
1.Can you tell me how to hide a UI element based on Role.
In SPRO is it possible??
2.How to remove a standard UI element from Webdynrpo Component.
when i click enhance i am able to right click on UI element and select Remove Element
and next it is showing a red mark beside it and when i save and activate it it is not getting removed.

Unfortuantely, you must create your own custom component. I'm not going to explain how to do that since that requires a lot of typing, but if/when you decide to tackle that, you will need to include this in your resource file:

However, keep in mind this is what I use for my content server (10gR3 with CS10gR3CoreUpdate component, build 186). I have no idea what future patches may or may not have done with profile naming conventions or changes. I'm confident this will still work, but cannot be for certain.

Removing standard search helps

I have created a field in my custom table, with data element VKORG (its domain is also VKORG).
Now, the search help C_VKORG is automatically getting attached to this field.
How can I remove this seach help from my field?

Hi Prabhat,
I believe the issue is coming because you have the standard Data Element to refer to the field, I would recommend you to create a new data element and also the domain of 4 characters and also then after you can link a custom search help then after in SE11 transaction.

How do I remove standard apps from an iPhone 5?

I am an IT in a government office who just switched our fleet to iPhones. We are not permitted to use certains apps that are either not in our data contract, touch the Cloud, or cause cost/personnel issues. Those items I try to corral in a folder "Unusable Apps" on a separate page where the user has little eye contact with them (outta sight outta mind right). I go through the motions of turning off every notification, update, share feature, etc. I can find but the icons are still on the phone. I have a fleet of about 100 iPhones and at least half my users are sneaky & curious and often try to reactivate things I have already hidden or turned off per our agency telecommunications policy. I just want them removed all together so I don't have to keep going through this and for those who can't fight temptation - they won't have to anymore. How do I remove standard apps from an iPhone 5?

Need changes in standard data element

Hi gurus,
I want to change in one of SAP standard data element for adding search help into it.
for this fields there is no user exit or any enhancement is present.
I have taken access key from our basis guy after putting access key i am unable to change the data element i mean access key is correct but i am unable to edit data element.
so can anybody tell me how can i change in this data element.
note : I have access key.

Hi,
What data element you are about to change, you should take extra care before changing standard data elements as it may be used in many places.
Do a Where-Used list to determine nothing else will be affected because of this change.

How to get Cost element for a component in co03 cost analysis report

Hi,
I'm using table COSP to find the quantity for a production order component. However, I need to identify the cost element first to get the unique data. In CO03 cost analysis report, there is cost element for the component. Does anyone know how to get it ?

CSKA stores the basic info about the cost element
There is no data in CSKB.
I'm trying to use different tables to get the cost element.
AUFK, AFKO, AFPO, RESB, ...but no luck...

Standard cost element reports are not available

Hi everyone,
I noticed that there are no standard cost element reports available in our SAP application. Is this because they are not imported or is this caused by another problem ?

How to enhance the length of standard UI element which maps to DDIC structure?

Dear Webdynpro Expert,
I got a requirement to enhance the length of UI element which maps to DDIC structure attribute. I have tried by using
View Enhancement by hiding the standard UI element,
Adding the required field in the standard structure through append structure,
mapping the appended structure field to the UI element.
But it shows error as data compatibility.
Can you please share some light on it.

Changes in standard e-rec web dynpro component

I need to make some changes in standard e-rec web dynpro component. Needed to know what approach needs to be followed for the same. Can I make changes in the standard itself or do I need to copy the standard component and make changes in the Z component.

Hi Nidhi,
Its better to make changes in the Enhancement Framework itself.It will be too complex to make it to Z applications since there will be lot of dependent objects involved. I was also in the state of dilema when i was about to make changes to the standard E-travel applications using ABAP webdynpro(EHP2) and finallly i was able to meet all the customer requirements using Enhancement Framework and yesterday the UAT ended successfully..:-).
I have also implemented the e-recruiting using BSP in my last project.So i am able to give the above suggestion to you.
Since E-rec applications will have lot of methods, you can be able to meet all the changes in the Pre and the Post exit methods itself.

Removing standard operators for a field in Advanced search

JDev 11.1.1.3.
In ADF application, we need to remove few standard operators from the list for a field in Advanced search. For this we have followed the below oracle documentation:

27.3.3 How to Create Custom Operators or Remove Standard Operators
As specified in the doc, we have added the below "CompOper" tag to VO.xml. We have to remove all the operators present in the list except the "Equal to". But the issue is, using below code the "Not between" and "contains" operators are deleted from list, but "Not equl to" is still getting displayed. We have also tried "Doesnotequal". I have tried the oper string with spaces, without spaces, spaces replaced by underscore.
Can some one please provide the exact String to be passed in oper attribute of CompOper for all operators?

I am not able to find the list for the entire set of operators, but you could follow a simple technique to identify the exact operator to be used:
In the View Criteria editor, for any of the attribute, modify the operator to any desired value, this would update the *VO.xml,
use the same operator, if you want to hide it in advanced mode - as you have done earlier.

Merge files and remove non-static elements

Where is the feature that allowed images to be merged while removing non-static elements. I saw a demonstration of removing people from a scene when multiple pictures were taken and the people had changed their positions. This was touted as a feature found only in PS extended a few years ago. I have never been able to locate it.

Changing size of standard data element.

Hello here,
I need some clarification.
I have standard data element TIDNR - Technical identification number (Used in PM tables).
It has Data Type - CHAR and Length 25.
Is it possible to increase his length to 35?
Maybe, it is possible to create new data element ZTIDNR and make reference to TIDNR?
Or easily is to add some user field to equipment time segment?

always be careful.
Check what the where-used-list says: It's not only the use in programs and database tables, all input/output fields are also affected and must be changed manually (which is a modification).
You may create an own translation table: If i.e. you allow only 96 characters as defined ind [CDC display code|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CDC_display_code] , this can be reduced to 8 characters in 6 bytes or 33 chars in the original data element. Some bit&byte operations required for the conversion. If you define your own code with, say only A-Z, 0-9 and space and some more you can reduce to 5 bits having 8 characters in 5 bytes and so forth.
If you are on unicode with 2 bytes per char, possibilties are even more...
Yes, it's kind of a challenge - but at least an idea.

Standard Container element not populating....

Hi All,
I am using a standard task TS17900100 to process the HCM Form in workflow at 2 places. There is a standard container element STEP_OBJECT of this task which gets populated at run time.
Now at first place this container is getting populated correctly. But in the second place I have used the same binding and same task but STEP_OBJECT container is not getting populated. Also, STEP_OBJECT is not an import/export parameter.
Please suggest.
The task is using the following class and method :

WI_EXECUTION_VIA_R3_INBOX

I have checked the bindings in both the steps. It is same and all the containers are getting populated in the log except STEP_OBJECT. That's why I am not getting the reason for such a case. STEP_OBJECT is getting populated by itself in the first step. But it is not getting populated in the second step.

Using Standard Container elements as Method Parameters

Seems that Methods doesnt accept standard Container Elements like '_WI_Result' etc as importing parameters.How to access such elements this within method/secondary methods?

Hi,
Usually the WIRESULT is an exporting parameter of a workitem that has a result parameter in the Object Method. When you finish the processing of that specific workitem you can capture the value of the WIRESULT.
For this you will have to:
1. Create a workflow container of the type WIRESULT.
2. In the binding of the method which has the result parameter define the binding from the task container to the workflow container. This is usually the second part in the binding screen. The first part is the binding from the workflow to the task and then the second which is below the first is the binding from the task to the workflow.
You can then acccess the parameter in the workflow.
