Removing the Black Border

Hello
I recently I used a HDRPJ230 SONY HANDYCAM PROJECTOR to do some filming. When I uploaded the film to my iMac, I noticed that is a wide black border around the film content.
How do I get rid of this wide black border which takes up a lot of the screen?
All guidance appreciated.

Ok, figured out what to do.
If you go to the canvas, hit the box for the borders, tell it to show the wire frame. Click and you can rotate, resize, etc.

How do I remove the black border from around my videos?

I have PE7 on my Dell laptop with Windows 7. I've been editing videos on it probably since January. I just never thought anything of the black border, but recently it's really been bugging me. I tried Googling some answers, but all I found was to switch your camera to 16:9 Widescreen. My JVC Everio GZ-MG555U was already set to that setting. I'm just frustrated & I want to get rid of this border. If anyone knows the answer to this problem, please let me know. I need help!

Thanks for staying with the troubleshooting. I will stay with this as long as it takes to get the project to a successful conclusion. Let us work through this step by step.
1. The readout that you give for your JVC video file is consistent with what those .mod widescreen files have been reading out as, that is,
720 x 480 with a pixel aspect ratio of 0.9091 (standard 4:3) rather than 720 x 480 with a pixel aspect ratio of 1.2121 (widescreen 16:9).
2. Premiere Elements 7. Start a new project with the project preset of NTSC DV Widescreen.
3. With Get Media/Files and Folders import your video clip into the project and drag it to the Timeline.
4. Go to Interpret Footage and, in the Interpret Footage dialog, dot the Conform to: and change the Pixel Aspect Ratio to
D1/DV NTSC Widescreen 16:9 (1.2).
5. Right click the Monitor, select Magnification, and make sure that that the setting is "Fit". Now look at the Edit Mode Monitor space. Is the area designated for the video display filled? No black borders? If so, continue. If not, you are going to scale the video to make the fill. It should not take much scaling for this if needed.
a. Select your video on the Timeline
b. Open Properties/Motion Panel to reveal Scale. Use the Scale slider to zoom in to fill the monitor space to the minimal degree to achieve that purpose, that is, getting rid of any unfilled space (black borders).
6.Then export that Timeline to a NTSC DV AVI widescreen file, saving it to the computer desktop.
Use Share/Computer/DV AVI with Presets: DV NTSC Widescreen
Check out how your NTSC DV AVI widescreen plays back on Windows Media Player. Nevertheless, continue on....
7. Go to the YouTube web site and upload your DV NTSC Widescreen there. And, let us know the results.

Removing the black border from exported videos

Ok, basically I'm trying to rip DVD footage and convert it to something playable on an iPod. Nothing too hard getting it ripped and converted and all, but the VOB files didn't break right on the episodes, and I also wanted to edit out the theme from the beginning of EACH episode in the interest of space.
Overall it's working pretty well so far, I've been able to perform all that I needed to do, but when I export I get a wide black border around the video which looks fine now, but will take up a lot of valuable space when reduced to iPod resolution. I've found ways to change the color of the border in FinalCut, but no real way to remove it. Anyone have a way of dealing with this?

The first two problems (box cycling from element to element on page, scroll bar returning to top) can be caused by a stuck (or defective) Tab key on the keyboard. Such damage can be caused by a liquid spill; just one tiny droplet is enough to short a wafer switch under one key.
The last issue (black box, white text - sounds sorta like a debugger window) I haven't seen, but could be caused by something similar.
To check for that, try using a different keyboard. If you're using a wireless keyboard, turn it off and see if the oddities stop.

How to get rid of the black border around the artboard

Hopefully my last question for tonight.
I need to get rid of the black border around the artboard. The two images show my drawing lined up with the art board and then inside the artboard. The dark gray is not the artboard.
As you see, the artboard has a black border. I need to get rid of it. It shows up in my project when my color key is green. The black won't go to transparent.
So how-to get rid of the border? Thanks

I figured it out. View > Hide Artboards. Maybe this will help someone. Doesn't change the fact my spider looks like a tick:)

How do I remove the black box that appears over images in Aperture?

I may have engaged a shortcut in Aperture but I would like to remove this function. How do I remove the black box that appears over images in Aperture? It gives you the image name, camera make and so on. It only appears when you use your mouse and let go of it over an image.

Light leaking, spots or any light thru the black border?

i need your help.
today ive recieved my 5th replacement macbook pro.
my problem is that this is the second macbook pro wich have spot where some light leaks.
the spots are located on the left and on the right side of the macbook pro sign.

take your mac to a dark room and try to use a black wallpaper or the eizo screen test app to generate a black display.

Hi, I've noticed the exact same thing on my screen... But it seems like a feature...?
To those who don't see it: Turn off the light and crank the brightness to Full. Check out the black border around the Macbook Pro logo at various angles. It looks like a square of light at each side.
..Anyone else got that around their screen?

Removing the 'Black Bars' in Front Row

I was just wondering if anyone here knows how to get rid of the black border bars on Front Row while playing videos and DVDs? Thanks in advance..

The iMac screen is widescreen, so when watching a movie that is in 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen, you should see no black bars.
However, you will see black bars if you are watching:
-An non-anamorphic movie
-A full screen movie
-A 2.35:1 widescreen movie or wider

I've developed a stacked canvas within a content canvas, when I run the form the stacked canvas apeared with a black line takes it.
How to remove this line or how to disappear this line at run time??
I tried to do this by putting (no line) in tools palette to the line color tool after selecting the black line one and after selecting the stacked canvas another once, but this did not resolve the problem!
I need something else:
I put the stacked canvas at detail data block and it didn't appear since I execute query in master data block

u mean the border line? In stacked canvas property, select contour/outline and set it to none.
Make sure, the stacked canvas is behind the content canvas in the objectnavigator. Then check your
properties of the stacked canvas:
- Position on content canvas
- size
- size of clipping
Set stacked canvas property automatic visible to yes.
Make sure the stacked canvas is not overlayed by other stacked canvas or items.

How do I remove the inside border in a JScrollPane?

I'm trying to embed a JTextArea inside a JScrollPane. Not sure if it matters, but the JScrollPane is inside a JSplitPane, i. e.
JSplitPane js = new JSplitPane(...)
JTextArea ta = new JTextArea();
JScrollPane sp = new JScrollPane(ta);
js.setBottomComponent(sp);Now when the whole thing is seen, a black border is drawn around the TextArea ta. How do I remove this? Doing sp.setViewportBorder(null) doesn't help. Please help! THX.

The problem is seen ONLY when the neither scrollbar is visible, i. e. when the AS_NEEDED property is set on JScrollPane. When this happens, a black square border is visible around the JTextArea.
However, when the vertical or horizontal scrollbars are shown, the portion of the border where the scrollbar appears isn't visible (or noticeable).
Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't JComponent.setBorder() only set the OUTSIDE border of a JComponent? I want to eliminate the border being shown around the JTextArea (i. e. between the JTextArea's bounds and the JScrollPane).

Using footage from my iPhone 4, how can I remove the black bars on the sides of my picture? Or change the color to white...

My footage is vertical and there are two black bars on the side filling in the rest of the picture. I want to imbed this into PowerPoint without the black bars on the side. Any suggestions on how I can remove them or at least change the color to white? I changed the background color in View > Background > White, but it was only for editing purposes and didn't keep the color after rendering.

To change the background to white, in FCE, place the video on track V2 and place a color matte generator on track V1. The default color for the color matte is grey so you'll need to change it to white using the color picker.

How do I remove a black border from my 4:3 ratio movie, which only uses 4:3 ratio images?

I'm using Adobe Premiere Elements 9. I have an audio file from a teleconference call and I am using images exported from a 4:3 PowerPoint presentation to create a video of the presentation. The image files are .tiff files, 960x720. This is the only type of file I am using to create this video.
I really need to get rid of the large black border which appears on ALL sides (left, right, as well as top and bottom) whenever I export. Exporting as flv, mpg or avi has no change. I also tried .png images, no change. Any ideas??

My guess is that the 1280 x 720 was the last Project Preset used, and was still there, when you chose New Project.
As for your output, will you be outputting an SD (Standard Def), or HD (High-Def) file for uploading?
Do you ONLY have the TIFF Still Images, or are you mixing in any Video?
The Frame Size difference, between the 960 x 720, and the 1280 x 720 will cause black borders. The two choices are to use the 1280 x 720 Project, and then use Motion>Scale to increase the Scale of your TIFF's. Note that the Aspect Ratio of those TIFF's does not match the 1280 x 720, so to get rid of ALL black borders, you will Scale up the TIFF, and effectively crop your TIFF's. If there is no margin on your TIFF's, that can be a problem.
As PrE only supports standard Video Frame Sizes, there will not be one that matches the 960 x 720.

I created a slide show in iPhoto and saved it as a movie, .mov
Apparently in the conversion, a black slide was created at the beginning. This slide is not visible in iPhoto, but it is in .mov and MPEG-4
Does anyone know how to remove that black slide?

Do you have Quicktime Pro? If so you can move the play head arrows in Quicktime Player to each side of the black frame and cut it out. If you don't have QT Pro try it anyway with QT Player. It might allow that type of editing. Otherwise try using iMovie to trim the black start frame off.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier versions) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. There are versions that are compatible with iPhoto 5, 6, 7 and 8 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
NOTE: The new rebuild option in iPhoto 09 (v. 8.0.2), Rebuild the iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup" makes this tip obsolete.

Does anyone know if it's at all possible to remove the,
clear, dotted border around any Flash in a HTML document? I've seen
several websites which don't have the border around. I've created a
Flash menu for my website and having the border makes this
difficult, one has to click on the menu then one has to click on
