Removing the - in the - My Pages etc.

So, the infinitly wise branding team has informed me that I need to remove the - in the - My Pages - and communities and documents.. I found what I thought was the code that places these in and changed it to this://AddTitleSelectBoxOption(select, m_asOwner.GetString(260, ResourceConstants.PORTALCOMMONMSGS));

The simplest way to do customizations like this is to edit the string files directly. That way you can find the string that contains the '-' and remove it without coding anything. It is, of course, possible that certain strings will require you to edit code, but you should be able to edit the majority of strings in the xml files (located in ptportal\5.0\settings\i18n\en) and then restart the server to get the new text.

How to automatically remove the wiki page's images from the Images library , when a wiki page is deleted

I have noted the following strange behavior inside my Publishing enterprise wiki site collection. Now by default when I create a new wiki page and I add Pictures to it, the pictures will be saved under the “Images” library and will be inside a unique folder
that have its name similar to the page name.
But when users delete the picture from the wiki page or they delete the whole wiki page, then the related folder inside the “Images” library will not be removed. So can anyone advice if there is a way to automatically remove the page’s pictures
folder from the Images library when the page is deleted? as currently i might end up having many pictures inside the Images library which are not linked to a wiki page, and they will waste my server desk space...

I think, not sure, there's no out-of-the-box solution in SharePoint for this problem. So I can only think of custom solution:
In event Receiver, ItemDeleting, you can delete images. The only downside is if some other pages are referring the images..... you need to check somehow which is quite time-consuming operations if you have thousand of pages in wiki library
A timer job, that will run periodically, every day or week, and clean all unused images.
Hide the default delete button and add your own. And then using your own custom layout page, show a 'configuration dialog' to user if they want to delete both page and images.

How to I remove the extra page in pages?

I created a custom template in pages on my iPad2 and pages threw in an extra page at the bottom. I'm using this to send as an email newsletter, I don't want there to be an extra blank page. Anyone know how to fix this? I've tried everything I can think of.

If using Clay's suggestion changes the formatting of the document in some way - you can try this as well.
Sometimes word processing apps want to throw in an extra page at the end of a document because you have hit the absolute limit on the document size. I see this in Word and Pages files.
Try increasing the document depth/length just a little bit in the file and see if that helps. But first create a duplicate file that you can mess up and not have to worry about.
Launch Pages. Tap on the Edit button in the upper right corner and all of the thumbnails will start to wiggle. Tap on the document that you want to duplicate and then tap on the + sign in the upper left corner to duplicate the file.
Open the copied file. Tap on the wrench icon in the upper right and select Document Setup. In the setup window - Drag the header section up a little bit and/or the footer section down a little bit and then tap Done. See if the copied document dumps the unused second page now.
If that didn't work the first time - keep extending the margins until the second page is gone.

How to remove the "Index Page" option from the Router in Network Magic Pro 5.5.9195

I find it ironic and I can click on my router in the Map view of network magic, and the last option is "Index Page". This immediately loads my router setup in a browser window. It completely bypasses the router login and password. I do not want anyone to be able to start my PC, open Network Magic, and click this option and have access to my router. This is stupid. How do you turn this option off, remove it, or hide it?
Yes, I know, I could put a password on my PC, but I share it, with other family members, and at this time I don't have user accounts setup for them.
I am looking for a solution in Network Magic, not my OS.

Anything you do without submitting to form has to be done on the client side (ususally by JavaScript) using data which has been send already from the server.
With JavaScript you can do quite a bit. You can download tables which don't necessarilly appear on the screen, loading them into JavaScript arrays by dynamically generating javascript. Then you can pick up events like drop-box selection and use these tables to chose what you do next (e.g. preloading other fields, setting drop box content etc.).
Or, you can cause forms to be submitted when actions like a selection happen without the user clicking a button. It's generally a matter of how much data you'd need to transmit.
Another posibility is to use a Java applet, which can generate requests to the server and handle the results as it chooses. That are a number of problems with that but occasionally it's the best solution.
What you can't do is to handle user input inside a JSP. The JSP has come and gone before the user even gets to see your form.

You can disable the Taskbar preview by setting the pref browser.taskbar.previews.enable to false on the about:config page.
To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website. 
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.

Full Screen is toggled on/off with F11
Or you can move the mouse up through the top to display toolbars, or use the "Alt" key. Then use the "Restore" button between the Window minimize [ _ ] and Window close [ X ] buttons near upper right corner.

Removing the page preview. Possible?

Is it possible to remove the gray page break in the document, so my content does not have a gap in it? Is it posiible to change the view so that there is a dotted line indicated the page break? I don't want my contect to jump to the next page and leave a gap?

Pages does not have continuous scroll, everything is based on pages.
Try TextEdit or any of a number of applications that do have this, including MsWord.

How can I get around the character limit in the "print pages" option

I have a rather large PDF file and I need to print certain pages (for example, pages 1, 324, 456, 759, 812, 946, 1206, 1562, 1792, etc.). However, when I click on print and try to type in the pages, there is a character limit, and it is much smaller than the number of characters I need to type. Is there a way around this? Thanks.

OK I figured out the answer. Ctrl+J opens up the console (You have to activate javascript). The following script will extract the pages into a new document, and then you can simply print those pages. All you need to do is fill up the "pageArray" array with a list of your pages, separated by commas. It does not support ranges.

How to delete the first page from a large number of documents

Hello all,
My company has migrated from Adobe Acrobat pro 8 to 11. In version 8 we had
used Document Processing to remove the first page from all pdf's within a
directory (5000+). This process took about an hour.
Now my research has led me to use Actions in version 11, however it appears
that the action require each document to be open and saved (one after another)
in Acrobat in order for the first page to be removed. This thrashing has made this process very
slow to the point where it's useable.
Is there any way to run actions from the command line
so time isn't wasted opening up each document in Acrobat?
Is there another way to quickly remove the first page
from a PDF in bulk?
I'm outside my expertise area here, so if you need any additional
information let me know.

Indeed, batch processing in Acrobat XI is inferior in many ways to what it was previously.

2. Yes, it can be done using a stand-alone app much more quickly and more efficiently, but it's somewhat more complicated to develop such an app than to set up an Action in Acrobat.

Modal dialog - refresh the parent page on close

Hi:
Using Apex 4.02
I have followied Havard Kristiansen's modal dialog example.
I have everyting working, but I have a requreimet to refresh the entire page (parent page) on the close of the modal page.
I have tried quite a few things in dynamic actions on the parent page etc, but nothing is working.
How can I get the parent page to fully refresh when the modal dialog is submitted and closed.
Your help would be most appreciated.

Here is what I have tired:
- dynamic action on iframe for page unload to call window.opener.doSubmit() and parent.doSubmit();
- dynamic action on button on ifreame same as above
- branch (plsql) process to call above
None of these worked. The modal dialog closes but the parent page dos not refesh.
I can refresh a report region, but the problem is that the region I want to actually refresh is conditional and is not displayed when you first open the modal dialog. Hence, it does not appear on the return even though the condition is now true.
Any help would be appreciated please!

Let me explain a little more. I had downloaded a lot of free books in the past as a trial when iBooks was first released and since then I have decided I no longer want them, because of this I hid them from the purchased section of the iBooks store. The 5 books left are ones I decided to keep as seen in the following picture.
This is how it appears in iBooks on my mac. There are 4 books downloaded and 1 book that I have decided not to download at this time. I would still like to keep this book available in the cloud incase I want to download it again in the future. You’ll notice that hide iCloud books is not selected, if I wanted to hide the book that I have chosen to keep in the cloud, but have not downloaded yet I could.
This is exactly how I think this feature should work. If you have hidden a book from your purchases it should not show up in the mac Ibooks app. (I am aware you can never actually delete a purchase, just hide them and that hidden purchases can be restored to your account from within the account management section of the iBooks store).
The iOS app is working differently for me. Here is a picture of the purchased tab on the iBooks store in iOS Ibooks. Again notice that pictures of Lilly is still yet to be downloaded. This is how I expected it to look.
If we visit the front page of iOS iBooks the view is very different from what I expected. Here we can see the 4 books I wanted to keep on my device and have downloaded.
