Removing TV shows from the Ipod

I am trying to remove shows from my ipod. i am using itunes 7.01. I thought I could set it to manually update and just un-check the shows i want to remove in the libarary but that didnt work. I even selected "only sync unwatched TV shows" but apparently it thinks some of my old ones are unwatched when really i have watched them (altho some i watched on the laptop.). Any suggestions?

Hi ErnieLane,
Your iPod's songs are "greyed-out" just because you are automatically syncing your iPod with iTunes. (that's how the auto-sync setting works).
To remove individual songs from your iPod by deleting songs from your iPod's "Music" library section in iTunes, you will need to be manually managing your iPod's content (note that first part of the sentence in the above quote).
This article might help with providing info on manually managing an iPod with iTunes:

  • How do you remove a playlist from the iPod but not the library

How do you remove a playlist from the IPod but not the library?

If it was originally on the camera roll try this: take another unimportant photo for test purposes, copy it to any special folder you have created within Photos, connect your iPad to your computer, locate it as any other external device, and most likely that Photos folder will be the only thing that will show up, locate the photo, delete it and then sync your iPad.
If the test photo is gone from the camera roll but still in another folder within the app then you know that the system works so go ahead with the process. I understand that there are other photo apps which might let you achieve your goal much quicker.
    Hope thi helps.

  • How do you remove voice memos from the iPod after downloading it to iTunes?

first of all, which model of voice recorder is best for the 5G video 30 gb iPod? I have heard of Griffin iTalk and Belkin Universal Microphone Adapter, but i'm leaning towards the iTalk b'c it looks cheaper on Amazon and eBay. does anyone suggest anything along those lines?
and also, after recording voice memos (like class lectures and such) onto the iPod and downloading them to iTunes, how do i remove them from the iPod? do i have to make them a different program file (like windows media player, and not iTunes)?

  • Removing scary smudges from 30GB iPod!!

    Hi!
I have recently removed an adhesive sticker "cover" from my white, 30g iPod video. It had cutouts for the screen and clickwheel, and when i removed it, there was adhesive on both the front and back of the iPod.
That was 4 hours ago. Since then, I've applied the citrus-based "Goo Gone" sticker adhesive remover, which requires the area to be cleaned with soap and water afterward. I used tiny, precise amounts of all three substances, but my iPod is covered in smudges. Goo Gone does not contain acetone or alcohol, but it IS citrus based, so i'm wondering if i removed any coatings from the iPod.
I've been looking through the forums//discussions extensively (for the past two hours), and have read the best reviews on AppleSauce Scratch Remover. I used paper towels, tissue, a soft cloth, and an eyeglass cleaning cloth to try and fix the situation. I think it was the paper towels that did it, but does AppleSauce remove smudges, along with scratches? Does anyone have any other product//technical suggestions that will remove smudges, surface scratches, and restore the iPod's shininess?
I'm panicking, and delirious from no sleep. My iPod is the love of my life, and i will do ANYTHING to restore it to the way it was before. I also really wish i had not put the darn sticker on there in the first place. :/
    Thank you!

Applesauce works great, it will take the smudges and scratches. If you can get it quick use it to remove all. It will bring your ipod back to it's new appearance. What you can do while you are waiting for that is go to walmart and buy Meguiars PlastX plastic cleaner and polish. Use an eyeglass cloth and spend a little while buffing and polishing with that. It will also take out the scratches and restore the shine and take off any goo or smudge that you have. I used Meguiar's before I got Applesauce and it works as well, just takes a little more effort, but it is availabel in any auto parts store or walmart. Good luck

  • If I buy a tv show from my ipod and sync it to my library will it stay in the libary, even if I delete it.

If I buy a tv show from my ipod and sync it to the itunes library will it stay in the library, even if I delete it from my ipod. I just want to make sure I am not totally deleteing it and lose my money.

Deleting it from the Pod after copying it to the coputer will not dlelte it from your ligrary.

You can't currently delete items from your Purchased page, all you can do is hide (and unhide) them : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4919

  • Any way to temporarily remove the clip from the ipod shuffle?  I would like to see if it can be placed in speakers designed for the Nano.

is there any way to temporarily remove the clip from the ipod shuffle?  I would like to try to connect it to speakers which are designed for ipod nano, but appear to be compatible with the shuffle, if it didn't have the clip.

Unfortunately, Apple can do no such thing.  The most you can do is turn it over to the local authorities or the customer service desk if you found in a store or similar.
Kudos to trying to find the owner though!

  • How do I delete tv shows from my ipod?

I thought I was doing the right thing by after importing tv shows into itunes and finding that they showed up as movies by filling out the episode info etc. and changing them to tv shows. Well now I can't even find them in itunes. Where are they and how can I delete them or switch them back to movies so I can manage them in itunes? Help!
ps I have already tried to sync them to 1 unwatched and it doesn't seem to delete the rest. duh!

I use automatic sync, but only checked songs/podcasts. When I had a Classic 160, I synced everything, because I had the space. Either way, my podcasts would be removed from the iPod after I had listened to them, but I don't know if TV shows do that too. If not, you can always uncheck them in iTunes after you are done, and they will be off the iPod, but still in iTunes. You can also manually sync. Instructions for both are in the manual, which you can download here.
By the way, I haven't used my Nano 6th gen for TV, but I've heard it doesn't support video. I know that my video podcasts don't work. Are you using an older Nano?

  • How do you delete files from the iPod?

i have a 30GB iPod, but i was wondering how you delete music from the iPod? and also is it possible to play the music from the iPod?
30GB iPod.   Windows XP   30GB iPod.

There are several methods of deleting songs from the iPod and/or iTunes, and the method you choose depends on the settings you have selected for your iPod.
If you have the iPod set to automatically transfer songs, and you no longer want a copy of those songs on either the iPod or in iTunes, simply delete the songs in iTunes. Highlight the songs you no longer want then right click and select "clear", or from the edit menu select "clear". Next time you connect the iPod, the songs will be deleted from there also.
Only do this if you no longer want the songs on both the iPod and your computer.
You can also use the "only update checked songs" method in the iPod options (right click on the iPod in the source list in iTunes and select options, then select "only update checked songs"). With this preference checked, you can remove the check mark from the songs in iTunes that you no longer want on the iPod. The next time you connect the iPod, those unchecked songs will be removed from the iPod whilst still being retained in iTunes. You can check and uncheck songs as you change your mind about what songs you want to put on the iPod. Songs that have no check mark against them will be skipped over when played back in iTunes.
If you have the iPod set to manually manage your songs, and you want to delete the song from the iPod only, then select the iPod in the source list of iTunes, or click on the "music" option underneath it to show all your songs. Highlight the song(s) you no longer want on the iPod, right click and select "clear", or use the edit menu as previously mentioned.
This method only deletes the songs from the iPod, so if you no longer want the song in iTunes also, you'll need to delete it from there separately using the method above.
If you are using iTunes version 7 or later, all these settings can be found in the summary screen.
If you want to delete everything from the iPod and completely erase the hard drive and start from scratch, then you can restore the iPod to factory settings.
Only do this if you have the songs in your iTunes library, or a back up somewhere other than the iPod itself.
To play music from an iPod through iTunes, you need to set your iPod to manage the iPod content manually.
This will make the songs on the iPod accessible and playable.

  • How do you remove a symbol from the stage in Edge animate?

    Hello-
I'm wondering how to remove a symbol from the stage in Edge Animate so you can jump to another place in the timeline.  In Flash, the symbol was only on the stage for the amount of frames you indicated.  Not sure how it works here.
For example, I have 2 buttons on my first screen with some text that animates in.  I want the button click to take the user to another section in the timeline or (basically another scene, like in Flash)  that contains different content.  If I change the visibility the buttons are still there and will ( I assume) create problems when other elements are placed on top.
Or is the only way with code.  If that is the case what would that code be?
    I would appreciate any help.
    Thank you!

What I usually do, is, once you have everything set up in the scene you are done with. highlight it all
    right click
    group elements in DIV
Now all those items act as 1 group and then you give it a properties name, much like a symbol.
THEN you can refer to that scene name and move it anywhere or hide it and slide in another scene that has the content for that next scene.
basically you take all the elements that make up 1 scene, gruop it up, name it, and then in the code for the button say something like:
    on click:
    scenename.play(framenumber);
that will then animate that scene according to any animation you gave it, such as moving to the left, off stage. while moving scene 2 that you create into the stage.
or just have something like this hide it
    sym.$("scenename").hide();
    sym.$("scene2name").show();
but if you do that, make sure in your CompositionReady code you hide all scenes EXCEPT the 1st one, so the user doesnt see them all instanatly anyway.

  • How do I remove an app from the update list that is under someone else's apple id?

How do I remove an app from the update list that is under someone else's apple id? So this way the update always fails because it asks for someone else's password. I don't have the app on my mac, it only appears in the update list. It's just annoying, because the update keeps appearing, and the reminder keeps reminding me that I should install a new update.

You installed a hacked app, originally from the Mac App Store. It contains the receipt for a different app, downloaded using an account that you don't control. You need to identify and remove the hacked app.
Important: The app you need to remove is not necessarily the one named in the App Store alert. For example, the App Store may prompt you to update "Angry Birds" or "Twitter," but the hacked app may be something else entirely. Don't make any assumptions about which app you're looking for. To find it, you must carry out a systematic search with Spotlight.
    1. Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:
    kMDItemAppStoreHasReceipt=1
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
    2. In the Finder, press command-F to open a search window, or select
    File ▹ Find
from the menu bar. In the search window, select
    Search: This Mac
from the row of tokens below the toolbar. Below that is a popup menu of search criteria, initially showing Kind. From that menu, select
    Other...
A sheet will drop down. In that sheet, select
    Raw Query
as the criterion, then click OK or press return.
Now there will be a text box to the right of the menu of search criteria. That's where you enter the raw search query. Click in that box and paste the text you copied earlier by pressing command-V.
    4. The search window will now show all the App Store products that are installed. Compare those search results with the list of your purchases from the App Store. To see the complete list, you may need to unhide hidden purchases. If any apps were download from the App Store using other Apple ID accounts that you control, sign in to the store under each of those ID's and check the purchases.
At least one of the apps in the Spotlight search results is not among your purchases in the App Store. Move each such item to the Trash, after quitting it if it's running. You may be prompted for your administrator password. Empty the Trash.
Quit and relaunch the App Store. Test.
If you find these instructions confusing, ask for an alternative method.
