Removing uninstalled apps

Hi,
My itunes account was hacked. Apple fixed everything up.I got my first ipad and when I connected it I ended up with an app from what the hackers had brought. It has not been installed but it sitting in my app file and I cant remove it. I have removed it from my computer  just have no idea how to remove it from the ipad.
Help me  please.
Thank you.

Hello,
If it was a paid app, you can never remove it; RIM needs to keep record of your purchases so that, should you ever decide you want it again, you won't have to pay again. If it is a free app, then the clear cache has indeed, in AppWorld 2.0, changed from what you tried. From within MyWorld, press the key and select "Refresh List".
Good luck!

    Trying to deploy apps.
my app failed to install, going to the fly out, details, install error is "the remote hosting service is not configured. Details: unable to obtain master key"

there is no option in the fly out for deleting the app.
    tried to remove app with powershell, using cmd Uninstall-SPAppInstance –Identity $appInstance -Confirm:$false -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue -ErrorVariable err;
this didn't work, and upon running now gives error msg 'another job exists for this app instance. Please retry after that job is done'
Have tried the work around (which isn't a fix at all) of changing productID# in the appmanifest. This works to get me moving forward, but still need a solution how to delete the previous app that didn't install correctly.
    anyone have ideas? Thanks

     hi,
i have found no other way then delete the entry in the content-database. you can find the app entry inside of the AppInstallations table. i remove this apps here. after the apps will not shown in the content list oder app in $instances = Get-SPAppInstance

I think this is only a bad workaround.

  • Remove uninstalled apps from Desktop App?

I have uninstalled several older apps, like the CS6 and original CC apps, using the standard Windows "uninstall" app from the control panel.
I would like to remove them from the desktop app so that they no longer show up asking to be updated. Eventually, they should even stop showing up at the bottom asking to be installed. A filter could deal with that, I would think.
Have I missed a way to do that? I just can't find it and searching has failed me. I must not have the right search terms to get the answer.
Basically, the only older app I want to see is Premiere Pro CS6 and only because I still help people with problems they are having. As for the rest of the apps, I only need the latest and greatest versions showing up.
    Thanks,
    Steven

  • How do I get Playbook out of my AppWorld & remove uninstalled apps forever?

I had a Playbook.  Great device.  Gave it to a co-worker so he could do more testing.  Apparently I'm never getting it back again.  :-)  So how do I get that Playbook out of my Appworld?  It always appears under available devices and I don't want it there any more.  Because more importantly I want all the associated PlayBook apps gone from "My World".  I only have a Torch now so I don't want to see any PlayBook apps any more.  It's cluttering up my list and complicates things when I'm using AppWorld in my web browser with my device connected to the computer.
Going one level even deeper, how do I remove previously downloaded apps from my list permanently?  I shouldn't have to be clicking through 4 pages of apps when I don't care about half of them any more.  I understand my purchases are being protected by ensuring that I can download the app again if I choose.  But really, I don't choose.  I want some of these apps gone forever.  Is that possible?

I have read that in an upcoming version that is currently in beta test phase, you are able to hide your uninstalled apps from My World.

  • How do I delete uninstalled Apps from the iPhone app list that is shown inside iTunes on my PC after sychronizaton?

To clarify and to not receive the answers of those who doesn't read more than 2 lines of a post: I am not asking how can I delete backups to free space in iCloud nor how to hide the purchase history!!! those things I already know...
to be clearer please let me explain what I mean by "list inside the iTunes of my PC". To access the list to which I am reffering you must take this steps:
    1) Connect the iPhone to the PC. This should open iTunes if not already opened and activate the synchronization between iPhone and PC.
    2) After syncronization and eventual backup in the iTunes window on the top right side it appears the tab "iPhone".
    3) Click said tab "iPhone" to see its content. In the top bar you can see 9 tabs: "Summary", "Info", "Apps", "Music", "Movies", "TV Shows", "Books", "Photos" and "On This iPhone".
    4) Click the 3rd tab, the one named "Apps", in this window on the left side you have the full list of the apps and on the right side you can see how these apps are arranged inside the device (inside home screens and folders).
I am referring to this particular list, the one on the left side of this page. See, I ricently run out of space in my iCloud so I decided tidy things up. I deleted all of the old backups both form iCloud and from PC and I hid all of the Apps that I no longer use from my purchase history.
now, the point is, every time I go to this particular list I can still find all of the apps, even those uninstalled from the device and removed from the purchase history...
In this list the apps that are still installed on my divece have got the "remove" button at its side and those which are not have got the "install" button... my point is that I went to great lengths to clean everything and still I can't seem to find a way to remove unwanted apps from this particular list...
I do suspect that it is because I have to restore some registry inside the iPhone itself... The point is that I don't want these apps to appear on this list anymore but I don't know how to clear it... Any help? Have I been clear?
    thanks

That list includes all the apps that you installed to your device directly from iTunes on the computer, or which were purchased on the iOS device and subsequently transferred to iTunes on the computer.
If you right click on any item in that list and choose "Show in Windows Explorer" it will open your iTunes application installer directory on your computer, which should be:
    C:\Users\User\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Mobile Applications
In there are all your saved application installers (*.ipa files).  You need to delete those actual installer bundles and then make sure to NOT allow the "transfer purchased content" when you sync or backup in iTunes (as that will just put them back on your hard drive).
One caveat to removing those, is that if you ever wish to keep a specific release of a particular app, and the developer replaces the iTunes/App store version with something else, your sole source for your older version will be your own stored copy of it.  So for example, when PDF expert released their iOS 7 update, and charged everyone full price for it, if you wished to keep using the previous version on your own devices, then you needed to keep a copy of the installer on your own computer as that older version is no longer available in the store front.

  • SCCM 2012 R2: automatic uninstall App-V 5 packages

    Hi,
We are using App-V 5.0 SP3 for computers (in test phase) as well as Terminal Servers (in production, App-V 4.6 and 5.0 on the same W2K8R2 servers). We were thinking about using a App-V management server since SCCM integrated App-V has downsides, most important
one is no automatic uninstall. Then there is this comparison which shows that integrating in SCCM has much more options:
    http://virtualvibes.co.uk/app-v-management-server-or-configuration-manager-2012-a-feature-comparison
So we're back at going for "SCCM App-V integrated" and the issue that uninstall doesn't happen automatically. Also there is this post which tells us "With App-V 5.0 SP2, App-V packages that are being used cannot be uninstalled."
    http://henkhoogendoorn.blogspot.be/2013/07/configmgr-2012-sp1-with-app-v-50.html
So I'm still looking for the best approach to:
*deploy App-V 5.0 packages to terminal servers via SCCM 2012 (user targetted): an uninstall won't happen for one user if another user has it in use? Then how can we enforce an uninstall/remove an application nicely?
*deploy App-V 5.0 packages to W7 computers via SCCM 2012 (first phase, later we will deploy to users on the computers): deploy an App-V package to  certain collection with computers, deploy an uninstall to "all computers" so that if
computerobject isn't member of the collection, it will uninstall? Won't every user then receive loads of uninstalls triggered (even not visible in the console)?
Sound all quite messy for me.
    Please advise.
    J.
    Jan Hoedt

    >So the answer to your first question, yes, the installation will happen even though there's another user
My question was "an UNinstall won't happen for one user if another user has it in use? Then how can we enforce an uninstall/remove an application nicely?"
What I meant: an uninstall should remove the App-v package for all users (uninstalling for 1 user is not the goal) but it won't as long it 's in use. That means we need to force a removal somehow.
    >For the second one, I'd skip the first phase
That's no option, so my question stays
"deploy an App-V package to  certain collection with computers, deploy an uninstall to "all computers" so that if computerobject isn't member of the collection, it will uninstall? Won't every user/computer then receive loads of uninstalls
triggered (even not visible in the console)?"
    Jan Hoedt
If you want to remove the application from all users, just add all users to the collection and deploy the application as uninstall, it will be removed from every single user when the policies are applied.
For the second question, create a collection that has all the computers that you want to have the application installed and deploy the installation of the application to that collection. Then create another collection that has all the computers as member,
BUT exclude the collection you created for installation. Now all the computers that don't belong to the install collection, will have uninstall deployed against them.

  • How do you remove non-App Store apps that are not in Applications from Launchpad?

Hi, this is my first post to the Apple forums...
So, I use the Steam game app a lot to manage my different games on my computer. Recently, I cleaned out the games I no longer wanted or had lost interest in, and all of their files, INCLUDING the .app files stored in Application Support, were successfully deleted. But, Steam also automatically adds app shortcuts to the Launchpad when you download a game, which is an option I always left checked during the download process- because why not, right?
The problem is that now, even after completely deleting ALL TRACE of these apps, they remain on my Launchpad. Just keeping them there isn't a solution; as a very neat, organized person, it would annoy me to the end of time to have random apps on my Launchpad that don't do anything. And since these apps aren't from the App store, they don't have an (X) in the upper left hand corner when you hold down on them.
I don't know tons about Macs, but after a quick scan of things online people have recommended deleting all the files for your Dock under Application Support, because apparently Launchpad is based on your dock. But that doesn't sound right to me. I thought Launchpad was based on Applications? Again, I'm more savvy with Windows but I just got this thing a year ago so I'm doing what I can.
On a side note, these game applications were stored in a folder titled "Games", which was originally identical within both Applications and Launchpad. Once I began deleting apps from the folder in Applications, however, they got stuck in the folder within Launchpad.
I also cannot move Game Center out of the folder in Launchpad, and when I do so it says "This app cannot be modified/deleted", even though I originally had Game Center outside of the folder.
    Computer specs:
MacBook Pro 15 Inch (mid 2009)
Running OS X Yosemite (10.10.1) [I updated just last night, I had been running 10.9 before and still had this problem]
Processor: 2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    Memory: 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT 512 MB

I found the following in the Macbook Help, and the last bullet worked for me.
"You can uninstall apps you got from the Mac App Store, from other websites, or from discs. You can’t uninstall apps that are part of OS X, such as Safari and Mail.
Apps downloaded from the Mac App Store: Click the Launchpad icon in the Dock, hold down an app’s icon until all the icons begin to jiggle, then click an app’s delete button . If you later want the app, you can reinstall it from the Mac App Store. If an icon doesn’t have a delete button, it can’t be uninstalled in Launchpad. For more information about Launchpad, see Use Launchpad to view and open apps.
Apps that have an uninstaller: In the Finder sidebar, click Applications. If an app is inside a folder, it might have an Uninstaller. Open the app’s folder. If you see Uninstall [App] or [App] Uninstaller, double-click it and follow the onscreen instructions.
Apps that don’t have an uninstaller: In the Finder sidebar, click Applications. Drag the app from the Applications folder to the Trash (located at the end of the Dock), then choose Finder > Empty Trash. If you change your mind, before emptying the Trash, select the app in the Trash, then choose File > Put Back.WARNING: When you empty the Trash, the app is permanently removed from your Mac. If you have any files that you created with the app, you may not be able to open them."

Drag the app icon out of the Apps folder and drop it in the Trash. If you want to make sure that you got all associated files use a deletion app such as AppCleaner.
    Hi Dah.veed
I read your advice to uninstall an app.using AppCleaner. This seems confusing. When I check the file location to see the total package contents, the file shows considerable more MB's than when I use AppCleaner and not near as much.Using AppCleaner would mean I would be leaving a considerable amount of residual garbage. Why is the AppCleaner not cleaning everything out.If i was to delete from the file location and send it to trash, would I be deleting support files.
    Thanks for your help.

  • How to uninstall apps from Creative Cloud App and reinstall it on your computer and CC App?

Sorry, my English is not good. I have a Creative Cloud app on my computer. I used the CC applications such as Ps, Pr, Au ... of two days, but I had to do a system restore two weeks back. Now re-installed Creative Cloud on my computer. I do not have Ps, Pr, Au ... on the computer but on the App Cloud Creative sees them as installed on the computer. So I can not reinstall them because I do not give permission, it is only optional update, but I do not like, because they do not want on your computer. How to uninstall apps from Creative Cloud App and reinstall it on your computer and CC App? Please help, I have a little time.

  • My desktop and screensaver options stopped functioning. I think I may have removed an app for it.

Have iMac with Mountain Lion. Yesterday I ran a program called MacKeeper. It identified problems. I removed several apps. Now my desktop and screensaver options won't function. What can I do? Thanks.

MacKeeper will cause you no end of problems and useless on a Mac.
Download and install this free utility >  Download AppCleaner for Mac
That will uninstall not only the MacKeeper application but all the associated files.
Do not install MacKeeper: Apple Support Communities
Open System Preferences > Desktop & Screen Savar > Screen Saver
If you cannot access those setttings, you need to restore OS X using  the built in utilities in  OS X Recovery
FYI:   OS X Recovery requires a high speed broadband connection.
Backup all your important files before repairing or restoring OS X just in case.

  • I am trying to uninstall and then reinstall the suite. The uninstall app Adobe says to use, however, is nowhere to be found.

As part of my effort to get cs6 (especially InDesign) to work flawlessly in Yosemite on my iMac, I am trying to uninstall and then reinstall the suite. The uninstall app Adobe says to use, however, is nowhere to be found. Not in Applications, not in Utilities, not in a search. Any advice?

    Hello Jimmy,
in this case I would download a really new trial version of your program(s) in question and change it/them into a "real" version later and it would be necessary that you have to use "Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool".
Here an advice for that (The order varies depending on your individual needs. Please read all my proposals first, so you can better choose the first step:)
    1. Maybe you have to activate/deactivate, so please have a look there:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/activation-deactivation-products.html
    2. Sometimes, we know in the meantime, the "opm.db file" is the culprit. In this case you should delete it.
    3. Did you already try "uninstalling and re-installing"? Be careful with (de)installing aso. by (de)installing by your own resources. As much as I regret it and as strange as it may seem I fear it's a challenge for Adobe's Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool. Sometimes - for whatever reasons - CC doesn't "want" to work. In this case you should CC completely delete and reinstall by help of Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool. (A try to uninstall by own resources is not enough!)
I quote: Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool helps resolve installation problems for Adobe Creative Cloud and Adobe Creative Suite (CS3-CS6) applications. The tool removes installation records for prerelease installations of Creative Cloud or Creative Suite applications. It does not affect existing installations of previous versions of Creative Cloud or Creative Suite applications.
Please use: http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html   and follow the prescribed sequence of operations
    4. If necessary and for further questions click through http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.htl and if "open" please use the chat, I had the best experiences. I quote from Adobe's employee Preran: The chat button is activated as soon as there is an agent available to help.

  • Removing vodafone apps from German Vodafone Lumia ...

    Hi all.
I have the chance to buy a German Vodafone Branded Lumia.
In order to decide, I need to clear up some quastions:
I would like to know if by doin so, when Nokia releases new firmware, I'll be stick to vodafone update channel (In the past I had another Vodafone Nokia that took about 12 months to get update just because Vodafone delayed so much the firmware updates.
    Can I remove vodafone preinstalled apps? I have currently a vodafone Android and cannot remove carrier apps which is really anoying - they spend a lot of resources and Idon't need them;
Can I remove the boot splashscreen from Vodafone without rooting (I think not but you might have another opinion)? BTW - does rooting void the warranty?
If I buy a Vodafone German phone with 2 year warranty but move to another country, if I have issues with hardware can I present the telephone into a Nokia shop and benefit from warranty there (other EU country)?
Thanks in advance for all your help. I am not sure this is the right forum to address and I apologise if it is not (anyhow if anybody can help or redirect me, I'd be really happy and thankfull.
    Cheers all,

    1. When Vodafone approve an OS/Firmware update it will be through the Microsoft update process you receive them. Nokia is not involved in that as far as Windows Phone is concerned.
    2. If you can remove them you can do so by a press-and-hold and then select uninstall
    3. No, the bootscreen is part of the core firmware and can't be removed in any official way. When if the phone is SIMlocked now and you unlock it later the splash screen will remain as will any Vodafone specific changes to the firmware.
    4. Under European Law you are entitled to a EU wide warrranty of 24 months. Any EU country will have to accept the phone and have it repaired. That may however mean they will ship it back to the original country to have that done which will usually take longer.

  • How to uninstall apps?, how to uninstall apps?

    how to uninstall apps?

    It all depends...
Some developers supply 'uninstall' apps that will remove all traces of the application and its auxiliary files. Use this uninstallation process if available.
You can (some people recommend this, others don't) use an app such as AppCleaner to 'trash' the app and any auxiliary files.
And then you can just trash the app... unfortunately this usually leaves some auxiliary files on your start-up disk.
    Pick your poison.
