Removing watermark from editable pdf

I am trying to remove a watermark from a client's file to prepare it for translation.
Background:
I don't have access to the original file and need to remove the watermark so that individual letters will not get mixed in with body text.
The watermark is internal version information for the client's use. It is not a copyright nor is it pertinent to the content.
I am using Acrobat Standard 7, but could move to another computer that has some version of Acrobat Professional. Or could conceivably upgrade to a newer version (though I am under a time constraint).
The files are unlocked.
This watermark apppears to have been created in the original software, which is not an MS Office or Adobe product.
Asking the client for a file without the watermark might be time-consuming as our contact may only have access to the pdf as well.
I cannot send files out or post examples.
For the first few short documents, I was having luck using the TouchUp Text tool to click on and delete on each page.
For those, clicking on the watermark selected the text with a box around it so that it was clear that only the watermark was selected.
Now I am working in a long document that seems to have no division between the watermark and body text.
I can delete individual letters if I can restrict what I pick up, but selecting the watermark also grabs the text below it.
Deleting actually removes body text from the pdf, which I don't think I've ever seen before. (Curious.)
I understand that removing watermarks should not be easy, but I have to get the text without the watermark somehow.
Other solutions create extra work and more deadline pressure.
Any other possibilities?

I was about to message you directly. Thank you for taking the time to consider this.
I am able to delete text without redacting it.
If I work in the standard mode (not advanced edting), my options are only to comment and mark up text, which is exactly what I am expecting from a pdf.
But if I switch to advanced edit options, I am able to delete text.
Which would be great if I could delete the watermark only, but I am able to delete content!
Entire section of the TOC just disappeared, which is something I haven't seen happen even on editable pdfs.
I do not want to delete anything except the extraneous version information sitting on top of the text I need.
I usually work in a Word environment, so I want to use those abilities here.
If I could just make the watermark something along the lines of "locked" or "hidden" it might be enough that it would not be picked up with the text.
I've started the process of asking for a new version from the original, which very likely lives in a different time zone far away.
I was just hoping for a faster solution.

  • Is there a free software to remove watermark from a pdf document?

What are the free softwares to remove watermark from a PDF document ?

No. The watermark is placed there by the owner of the document. Contact them. If you are perhaps referring to watermarks that appear on scanned documents, you need to purchase the scanning program to remove those. In as much as your information is pretty sparse that's all I can advise you on.

  • Adobe X Pro - Create HTML from Editable PDF

I have created an Editable PDF in Adobe X Pro.  How do I convert this form into an HTML Version, displaying all of the fields, and permitting the viewer to complete the form and still click submit?
When I Save As HTML, it drops all of the editable fields and the format for the image is also lost.
    Any suggestions?

    Good day,

Unfortunately, form elements created within a PDF file are not directly transferable to HTML.  You may want to consider looking at Adobe FormsCentral to create HTML-based forms that your users can submit.

  • Removing Pages from Multiple PDFs

I have around 1500 PDF files that are vaious pages in length. I need need to know if there is a way to remove all pages from all the PDFs with the exception of Page 1 and keep the file the same file name. In the end I would have 1500 PDF files with only page 1 in them. Is there a way to do this?
    Thanks,
    -Mike

It may be possible without JavaScript. I would be sure to work on copies of the files. Use the batch process to open each file and then go down 1 page and delete all pages to the end. I am not sure if this can be automated with the batch process without JavaScript, but it may be worth a try.

.   Perhaps the SDK????   Anyone know???

You can use JavaScript to loop through the annotations in a document, and remove (destroy) any particular type. The Acrobat
JavaScript documentation has some sample code you can modify. See the "destroy" method of the Annot object: http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk/9.1/Acrobat9_1_HTMLHelp/JS_API_AcroJS.88.81.html
Edit: The code shown should be changed so that you loop in reverse order, since you're potentially removing annotations.

  • Batch removing objects from a PDF

Hello, I have a PDF with an object appearing on every page of the document that I want to remove. I can select each object individually and remove them one by one, but that will take days (it's a 600 page document). Is there anyway to batch remove the objects?
    Thanks,
    Kyle

I would go back to the program that created the PDF and delete the object there. If the object is an image, you could also try this: Advanced> Print production> Preflight> create PDF layers> Create separate layers for vector objects, text & images> Analyze and fix. Save and re-open your PDF.
Go to View> navigation panels> layers. You should be able to turn the desired layer off.

  • IBooks removed "Category" from all PDF's.

In iTunes, ePub books and PDF books were grouped into Categories. Any one Category had a mix of ePubs and PDF's.    iBook put all PDF's into "Uncategorized".  How do I restore Category to PDF"s so that ePubs and PDF's can be in the same category?  The "Fiction" category should contain both ePub documents and PDF documents.

This can be done using a combination of an Action and a script. The script in the Action will collect the paths of the files you want to process and the folder-level script will extract the first page from each file and generate a new PDF from it. You don't need a plugin for this task, so you don't really need the SDK.

  • How do i remove images from a pdf (Pls Help)

My requirement is as follows, I need to remove all image & add a blank box equivalent to the removed image width & height where the image is removed.

I'm wondering what your ultimate goal is?
But one way to do what you state is to
Go to Advanced Editing Tools, Touchup Object tool, draw aroundthe image and delete. Then take the text field tool on the Forms toolbart and draw a box where the image was (or you could do this step first if you only wanted to cover up the old image) and set the properties of the text box to a white fill and no borders.
    Presto!
    Is this a one pager.

  • Remove Watermark

I need to remove watermark from a pdf already created. I have Adobe Professional 7.0. The instruction said to go to watermark and click remove but I don't have the option.

    Noel,
I apologize for the inappropriate forum.
I am not removing trademark information from pictures.
I am removing internal watermarks from a client's file in order to prep it for translation.
Asking them to remove the watermark may involve many changes of hands and is last-resort only.
I am totally in agreement that rights to work should be respected at all times.
I am simply (desperately) searching for the correct solution to my problem.
I will originate my search in the Adobe Forums and see if I can find a place where pdf issues are discussed specifically.
    Sorry for any offense.

  • Remove watermark/image from existing PDF?

I need to be able to remove a watermark from existing PDFs we have stored in a database. This is a legitimate requirement (rather than trying to remove trial software watermarks) as we have > 10 million PDFs stored with a "copy" watermark that we now want to store without the watermark.
I want to write a service in .NET which can do this programmatically.
Is there any Adobe SDK to support this.? if YES..please help.!
    Any samples appriciated..
    satish

The first issue you will face is trying to determine HOW the watermark was
added.  If it was done in a standard way by a well written tool, then it
will be easily to locate and remove.  However, if not, you will have your
    work cut out for you.
Either way, you will not be able to use .NET with the Acrobat SDK for this
    type of low-level operation.

  • Remove the mouseover filename from a PDF document

I'm trying to generate a PDF using Adobe Acrobat X Pro through the Word 2007 interface.  When I generate my PDF and mouseover an image, the mouseover text displays the filename of the image file (ie mouseover text="ImageFilename.png").  Additionally, some of these aren't even correct (the image filename is actually a previous revision of the image file and not the current file).  I would like to know:
-What data does Acrobat poll to get these filenames.  I know it isn't the actual filename since some are incorrect, so it must be some data contained in the word document itself?
-How can I remove this function altogether?  There is no significance to the image filenames and I'd rather not have to ensure they all match the document text.
I have searched this and other forums but can't find instructions on how to do this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}

I'm not aware of anyway to automatically remove them from the pdf file. You can manually remove each of them but it's always better to treat the source file than to treat the PDF file for changes.
To keep from seeing them without having to remove them all in Word, just use the "print method" to create the PDF file. Print to the Adobe PDF printer rather than using the Save as Adobe PDF feature.

  • Acrobat 8 standard  - Removing pictures from PDF files

I hope this is an easy one to answer but I'm having troubles removing pictures from a PDF file and I need some help, can anyone answer please?

If standard has the Object touchup tool, you can select them and then delete them. I suspect that this may have the same problem as the redact tool as mentioned by graffiti.
