Removing white frame border around screenshots

When I take a screen capture using CommandShift+4Space, the outputted image has a white background and drop shadow around the captured window. While that looks nice at first, after a while, it gets annoying. Is there a way to turn the effect off?

Use only CommandShift4 without the space bar ; you'll get a crosshair and then select the part of the screen you want to capture. The image won't have a drop shadow.

Find or use your graphics program to create an image of a
frame you like.
Size it so its inside measurements match your picture.
Option 1 - Paste your picture image on the frame image and
insert in your container.
Option 2 - Place your frame image as a non-repeating
background for your container and then insert your picture.

Remove Active Tab White Outline Border FF29?

Hi
I would like to remove the white outline border around the active tabs in FF29. I would like it to blend in to the background like the inactive tabs.
I have Tab mix plus and classic theme restorer installed. They do fine only would like the border transparent.

Could you post a screen shot of what your tabs look like? It would be great if you included a shot showing at least one background tab (no outline), a hovered tab (outline with slightly colored background) and active tab. White Border Around LCD

Hey guys,
I noticed this a couple weeks ago when I was on vacation. When my iPhone screen has direct sunlight shining on it, it has a white/gray border around the LCD (e.g., when the phone is unlocked on the home screen). I was wondering if this was normal, cause I never really used my iPhone in direct sunlight before. Can anyone test this out to see if their's is the same? Thanks!

Yes, mine is same as yours.
It seems to be the edge/frame portion of the screen that is not usable.
I think it's kind of unique. But not at all odd or bad looking. (This is only noticeable in direct sunlight.)

Border around page...how?

is there a way to put a stroke/frame/border around a page/slide? I know I could do it with a shape, but I was looking for a simpler way.

Unclear what you want to do, since it seems so simple to me.
There is no "put a frame around this slide" command. So yes, if you want to put that on just 1 slide, you have to actually make it, using any number of methods, like 1 or more shapes, various picture frames, colors, and opacities, or whatever.
If you want to put that frame on more than one slide, you can copy what you made and paste.
If you want to put that frame on all your slides, you can apply the frame to your master.

How do I put a border around my title, please?

I have a title page for a short video, edited in Premiere Pro, for YouTube. I want to put a rectangular frame (border) around that title page. I want the color of the border to be the same color as the font in the title. How do I do this, please? Below are the three elements from Publisher - background, title and frame. I want to combine the same elements in Premiere Pro. (I'm not trying to use Publisher in Premiere Pro, I am just trying to make it clearer what I am trying to do.) (I'm a rookie, obviously.) OK.
First of all the yellow line started life as a rectangle. I eliminated the fill by unchecking it, and added an inner stroke. To get the same yellow you used, I took a screen capture of your image then added it to my title as a logo. That allowed me to use the eyedropper next to the rectangle to sample your yellow text for the color of the stroke. When the stroke was properly yellow, I deleted the logo (your text).
Then I typed the text and using the eyedropper again, I changed the color to match the outline.
Adding a little bit of shadow makes it look better, by the way. Like this:

Removing a white border around the Extension I'm building

Hi,
I have a CS Extension that I'm building, and while working on the UI I have noticed that there is a white line all around the extension, which I cannot get rid of. I've attached a screenshot showing an example of this white border.
See under the PUBLISH button is this white border. I have set the height and width in the Application tag of my app to 100%, but this does not remove the border. Does anyone know what the problem could be and how to get rid of it?

Yes. There's a couple of pixels arounf the swf that you can't do much about.
Make the background color of your extension match the color of the panel, and noone will notice...

Removing white border around applet in browser?

Greetings All,
My applets are surrounded by a white border in Netscape and IE. Can I get rid of it so that the applet goes from edge to edge in the browser control? (Looks like default 5 pixel Hgap is in force, is this the case, and if so can it be overridden without access to the source code?)

Hi, Even when you assign 100% to width and height you will notice one black border around applet in case of IE5.0 When I go in to full srceen mode in IE 5.0 It should not show me scrollbars.
But because of this border scrollbar remains

Can't remove white border/line on left & top of Swiftweasel [Solved]

As the title states; I cannot remove this persistent white line/border thing at the top and left side of my Swiftweasel (Firefox) web browser. I know there must've been a post about this before but with such familiar/vague keyword combinations such as "white line border swiftweasel / firefox", etc, I couldn't find anything in the Forum or on Google except something to do with certain webpages (which in my case is on ALL pages). Here's a screenshot of what I'm talking about:
(Swiftweasel is at the top of the screen, in case you couldn't tell. See the white line/border at top/left?)
I disabled all my extensions and Stylish styles and the white line/border on top & left side are still there. This was an issue on my previous Arch installation as well (not that it has anything to do with Arch itself) but I'm just saying that it's been an issue before for me. Any ideas? It's just very annoying.

Thanks for the response. As far as renaming ~/.mozilla, it kept regenerating itself each time I opened Swiftweasel, so I moved ~/.sw35 to ~/.sw000 and then opened it and there was no white line. So I went through one by one installing my add-ons again and, even though I had disabled it and restarted earlier, it turns out that if I don't install "NumExt" it wont have the white line. That's so weird that it didn't do it earlier when I disabled it. Sad, though, since I really liked that extensions. Maybe I'll see if I can edit the file somehow.

Getting rid of white border around photos when using iphoto to iweb

Am creating web pages in iweb and importing photos from iphoto. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of the white border around my photos (image frame)? Welcome to the Apple Discussions. The link to the site is broken. There is a fix for some of the strange goings on since the MobileMe conversion. See Wyodor's post in this thread: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1605665&tstart=0. After applying the fix to iWeb I found I might have to republish a second time, occasionally a third and make sure I cleared my browser's cache.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

Can I remove/adjust the white frame surrounding images in finder?

I find the large white frames surrounding image files in the finder and on desktop bulky and annoying. Can this be changed/minimalised/removed in preferences or any other way?

I've taken some screenshots so I can show what I'm talking about.

There was one problem with you solution - if you change window.client.padding lines to the zero, you will lost ability to resize terminal window. The best fix is to change this lines:
window.active.client.color: #XXXXXX
window.active.client.color: #XXXXXX
and set #000000 or what would you like.
Anyway, thanks again, you gave me a key to solution!

Remove white background when using Frames

I am trying to use a simple black frame around an image. Unfortunately a white frame is created also, from the "background." How do I remove this large white surrounding frame? Is there a way to create a framed image with no background? Why is a background considered to be necessary behind a framed image? If I try to copy only the image and its frame, so that I can paste only them into a new document, "copy" is greyed out in the menu. Why can one not copy an image that has a Photoshop frame on it? I can copy and past images with no frames.

How are you applying the frame to your image?
Simply open your image through File->Open.
When your image has been opened, go to content pane and double click the frame that you want to apply.
The frame would be applied and there wont be any white background.
You can also adjust the image inside the frame. Just double click the image inside the frame and you you would get the option to drag the image to adjust or to zoom in or zoom out.
Please describe if you are using any other workflow.

Set the margin and padding on the body tag of the html page
to 0. You can
do this directly in the tag or with CSS.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. It's the default when adding photos, i.e. it can't be turned off. Roxpat has posted the method for removing it.
