Apple iPhone 5 Battery Replacement Program
Noticed today that Apple posted a page on their iPhone 5 Battery Replacement Program:
" Apple has determined that a very small percentage of iPhone 5 devices may suddenly experience shorter battery life or need to be charged more frequently. The affected iPhone 5 devices were sold between September 2012 and January 2013 and fall within a limited serial number range.
If your iPhone 5 is experiencing these symptoms and meets the eligibility requirements noted below, Apple will replace your iPhone 5 battery, free of charge.
    Eligibility
If your iPhone is in working order and exhibits the symptoms noted above, use the serial number checker (on program page) to see if it is eligible for this program.
    Replacement process
As of August 22, 2014, the replacement process will be available in the U.S. and China. In other countries, it will be available as of August 29, 2014." (see program page for more info)

  • Batterie s'use tres vite

    Bonjour

Got my Macbook Pro about a week ago, and so far I
couldn't be happier. Any how, I take occasional
photographic forays into the badlands of Northern
Mexico, Baja California, and downtown San Diego,
where creature comforts are not always available,
such as toilets, running water, reliable electricity
    and cold beer.
In order to try to anticipate the problems I've read
about I also picked up a Targus notebook cooler, usb
bus powered. Additionally, I also have a bus powered
firewire drive to download video and digital pictures
    into.
I am getting about 3 1/2 hours of staying power out
of a battery charge, I would have hoped for more but
I'm not all that unhappy. So I picked up a second
battery off of e-bay yesterday (I hope it doesn't
blow-up) The guy claims it's not subjct to recall,
but then I once bought a bridge in Brooklyn.
The question then becomes, what is the most prudent
way to get the most (read longest) lifetime out of
the batteries. I don't mean deplete one then put in
the other, but what is the best way to utilize the
batteries during their lifetime. Use them
alternately, use one then the other, store one,
partially charged, fully charged, drained. Is it bad
to set a battery aside, for months then charge it
when these trips happen, should I use them
constantly. What is the main enemy of batteries...
use, or simply the passage of time.
Any suggestions would be appreciated... well not any
    suggestions.

  • What to Do About an Upgrade?

    Okay, here's my dilemma....
I upgraded to my current phone, a Samsung Galaxy Nexus, in January 2013, making it eligible for an upgrade in January 2014.  Since my wife's phone was working fine at the time, I transferred her upgrade to get the phone.  Last February, I transferred my upgrade (which was originally her upgrade) back to my wife's line, as she was in sore need of a new phone (hers was falling apart, literally).  We got her an iPhone 4S with the upgrade.  By doing the transfer, it made my Nexus eligible for an upgrade in February 2016, which of course, I can re-transfer back to my phone this coming January.
Well, January is a little more than three months away, and wouldn't you know it, my Nexus is starting to go wacky.  I think the problem is in the phone's internal USB adapter.  It takes several minutes for the charging icon to light up when I insert the charging cable, and the icon stays lit for several minutes after I disconnect.  Also, I'm noticing that the battery is either not charging properly, or not holding a charge.  I have two batteries (the original, and an extended life battery I purchased later), and they're both exhibiting the same problem, so my thinking is that it's the phone's internal circuitry and not the batteries themselves.
I recently received an e-mail offering an early upgrade on my wife's iPhone through the Edge program, as hers has the January upgrade date.  No problem, I figured....I could transfer the Edge upgrade back to my line.  Except when I went to the local Verizon store, I was told I couldn't transfer an Edge upgrade.
To make a long story short, I'm stuck with a Nexus that isn't charging properly for the next three months, and no way to upgrade it.  I looked it up, and replacing the USB circuitry would cost around $50 in parts alone, and would require taking the phone apart (which I'm not totally comfortable with).  Being a little more than 90 days away from an upgrade, it's not even worth the replacement cost in the maintenance plan, as I plan to get an iPhone 5 with my upgrade.  So what are my options?  If the Edge upgrade was transferable, I'd be in good shape, but as it stands, I've got to hope and pray that my Nexus doesn't totally bite the dust between now and January.  Anyone have a suggestion?  Thanks!

    DDmiTV wrote:
Unfortunately, forking out the full price for a new phone isn't really an logical option for me, as I am three months from upgrade time
That certainly depends on how much you need a phone. Some people ALWAYS pay full price for their phones as they don't like to be tied to contracts.
    DDmiTV wrote:
it would be nice if they could, seeing as we've been customers for six years.  Even if they were able to transfer the Edge upgrade with a contract extension, they would make a profit in the long run.
I don't think you understand an Edge agreement if you want to "transfer the Edge upgrade with a contract extension". Edge agreements do not come with a service contract. Edge agreements are simply a payment plan spreading out the full retail price of a phone over 20 equal payments. If you want to upgrade before you have completed all 20 payments, you must have paid a minimum of 60% of the full retail price and return the Edge phone in good working order before you would be able to purchase another phone on Edge. I suppose you can "transfer the Edge upgrade", but the line you are transferring from would have to return their phone in good working order if they had not yet completed the payments AND make an additional payment to bring their total payments up to the 60% level if it was not already there. Not sure how that would benefit you???

Are you referring to the Automation Mode "Latch"? This is different from standard recording mode.
    Record Mode
In standard recording mode, you record the MIDI signal from your external MIDI controller as MIDI Events to a MIDI Region on your Track and also controls the MIDI components on your Instrument Plugin of your Channel Strip. The incoming MIDI signal is played/recorded on all Record-enabled Tracks.
    Automation Mode
In Automation Mode, the signal from your external MIDI controller can be used to record Automation Data (which are Fader Events, visualized as Automation Control Points) to control virtually any onscreen controls in Logic. These Events can be recorded as Track Automation or as Region Automation. The important part is the setup. You use either Automation Quick Access (one Automation Parameter at a time), or use the Controller Assignments Window to configure a more elaborate scenario.
    Hope that helps

  • 8800 battery drains unpredictably

Hi, my 8800 seems to be fine on a full charge for a few hours, then it will drop charge quickly over an hour or two, down to 50% or less.  Sometimes, overnight after a full charge in the afternoon, the 8800 is dead in the morning.  All it receives overnight is email from our BES server.  The cursor hourglass flicks on and off constantly too.
The only apps running are Browser, Home page, Call logs and Messages - all of which are empty.  OS is V4.5 (latest).
Anyone have any clues as to what could be causing this battery drain (I have tried 3 different batteries, all original BB branded)
    Thanks in advance.

I would suggest that you try the "drain battery 3x in a row, charge to 100% each time cycle" on one of the batterys. Read it in the link above...

  • Error 29 Solution

    Hi everyone!
After a 24 hours fight with my 3GS here is the solution for problem 29.
In my case, problem 29 came from the fact that my battery wasn't a "Apple" battery. So no way to upgrade and your Iphone will become bricked if you try to upgrade. Worst thing is that it never happened with the other updates.
All you need to do is to remplace your battery with your original one (In my case the battery was faulty during a travel so I had to go for a generic one that worked better than the original one - So I had to take my other Iphone battery to make it work).
Make sure to have the latest ITunes software (9.2) and that's all!
Don't bother to try on another computer or restore older version as it didn't work for me.
    All the best!

I have been havin problems with my iphone 3gs now for 3 days, i have the same problem as every one else, error 29, it gets 2/3rds of the way loadiing and stops, i have had my phone for a yr now and its been great, i changed my contract on sat an got the new iphone 4 so decided to empty my 3gs and restore norml settings so i could sellit, i now have a phone which does not work, it has the original battery in, an i have tried it on 4 differant pc's, i have irecovery but cannot get that to work, my pc is running windows XP, any ideas people????

  • Dv7 3190eo power supply

    Hi HP
My mom has a DV7 3190eo that has been working like a charm until recently when the power supply stopped working. I looked around on the net for a replacement, but couldn't find a power supply on 120W, which the specifications for the laptop says it has.
My question now is... Is a 120W PSU needed for the laptop or can I simply replace it with a 90W one?

    Hi,
I have got a 90W charger for a Core i7 Dv7-3000 but I think even a 65W charger might work on your Core i5 processor. I suggest to get a genuine HP charger from ebay. It's more expensive than the non genuine ones but still genuine. The connector must be 7.4x5mm.

  • Mega Stick - 122 MB free after update

I've updated Mega Stick firmware from 2.01 to 2.04 (using newest drivers from site) under WinXP and everything went well ... except that after updating and formating I had 122 of 128 MB free (and there were no files on it, except settings.dat). Is this how it should be?
One more thing, I'm using it with NiMh batteries (800mAh), but they won't last long because MS1 thinks that Alkaline battery voltage is too low (and it isn't, it's normal voltage for NiMh, and MS1 works just fine on that voltage)... I guess that it could be solved in firmware, with option to select Alkaline or NiMh batteries.

That's a good point, maybe it is on a flash ...
