  • Renaming output files

I've renamed my RoboHelp 8 Project file name, as well as the TOC and Index names.
However, there are several output files containing the old project name.  Is there a place within
RoboHelp where you edit the Project file name so that all output files will reflect the same name?
I renamed the Project name using File - Rename Project....

    Hi there
What output files are you concerned with? I think RoboHelp 8 will not rename the source files for the TOC, Index, Glossary. But those don't appear in your output files as such. So it likely won't have any effect on your output or ability to deal with the files.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Rename output file for File Transport

I am using ALSB 2.6.When I created file transport for detect file in C:/filein directory.I found that the name of output file didn't same as input file, example input-file = IgniteRB output-file = 6815685856805434446-1b555112.11a526f862f.-7fb0
Please help me identify this problem? Thank you :)

If you only need to change the name, then in your publish sub-actions, use the "Set Transport Headers" action. You should be able to check "Pass all Headers through Pipeline" and skip selecting the specific header.
Or in the list for headers there is one for fileName.
You can derive it from the source name using the $inbound variable, or select "copy from inbound".
If you need to change the path (instead of business service value) then you can use URI setting in "Routing Options" action.

  • APD - Rename header at output file

    Hello all,
I'm using APDs to run a query and download its results to a CSV file.
I need to rename header texts at output CSV file.
If you select an option (Insert header row with field names in the first row of the file) headers are generated, but generated format is by default: Field Description +++ Separator +++ Field technical name
So, you may have something like this in corresponding output file:
    DOC_NUMBER:0DOC_NUMBER         S_ORD_ITEM:0S_ORD_ITEM         SCHED_LINE:0SCHED_LINE
    30229264     30     1
    30229264     30     2
    Desired output:
Doc Nmbr         My Ord Item          My Sched Ln
    30129264     30     1
    30129264     30     2
Hope you could help. Thank you in advance!

  • Split SQR output into multiple files And Rename each file.

    Greetings!
We ran into scenario where we need to split an SQR output (PDF) split into multiple files (each page , each file). More over the out put has to be renamed with EMPLID.
It is for printing Advices, where we run DDP003 to print all of them, Our requirement needs to have one PDF file for each employee to placed into a shared drive OR to be emailed.
I was thinking of running the same process in a loop individually, but this is resource intensive. Is there any way we can batch run this SQR process and split into each page (each paychek comes to one page),
    AND
I need them renamed by SQR as it creates them, Each file would be names as EMPLID.
This is all in alternative to run process individually by employee , via self service. to not to over laod Process scheduler server.
Can anyone help me how can we get these thigns done in SQR?
    Thanks in advance.

You can use the SQR command new-report for each employee which closes the current report output file and opens a new one with the specified file name (e.g. EMPLID).

  • Script to rename multiple files

I have about 30k image files on my pc in 1 dir C:\TEMP1\ for example. These files all have to be renamed to a specific unique name. Aside from these files I also have an xml file that contains properties for these files, document title, document id for example.
The xml file also contains the path and file name of the image files. I need a script that can read the xml file, find the tag <ExternalRef> and then go out to C:\TEMP1\ and rename that file according to other xml tags such as document title and document
id. I have 1 xml file for all 30k images. I dont have any scripting experience and was looking for some help.

  • Renaming a file to match a wildcard result

I am trying to compress a file using built-in Windows tools. I need to use a wildcard to read the file because the input filename changes slightly each day (to reflect the date stamp). The current batch file that I have found will ZIP up a file based on
a wildcard, but it gives the resulting ZIP output file a static name.
I need it to have the exact same name as the input file.
E.g.: if the input filename is blahblahblah02132014.txt, the output filename needs to be blahblahblah02132014.zip.
    Please help?
    Here is my current script:
    set FILETOZIP=C:\Users\<my.name>\Documents\blah*.txt
    set TEMPDIR=C:\temp738
    mkdir %TEMPDIR%
    copy %FILETOZIP% %TEMPDIR%
    echo Set objArgs = WScript.Arguments > _zipIt.vbs
    echo InputFolder = objArgs(0) >> _zipIt.vbs
    echo ZipFile = objArgs(1) >> _zipIt.vbs
    echo CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject").CreateTextFile(ZipFile, True).Write "PK" ^& Chr(5) ^& Chr(6) ^& String(18, vbNullChar) >> _zipIt.vbs
    echo Set objShell = CreateObject("Shell.Application") >> _zipIt.vbs
    echo Set source = objShell.NameSpace(InputFolder).Items >> _zipIt.vbs
    echo objShell.NameSpace(ZipFile).CopyHere(source) >> _zipIt.vbs
    echo wScript.Sleep 2000 >> _zipIt.vbs
    CScript _zipIt.vbs %TEMPDIR% C:\Users\<my.name>\Documents\someArchive.zip
    echo Y | del %TEMPDIR%\blah*.*
    rmdir %TEMPDIR%
    pause

    Thanks.
I can get the right filename now, with the ZIP extension and everything.
But I'm still getting the error when I try to rename the file. This line:
    rename C:\Users\<my.name>\Documents\ZipFile.zip %OUT_NAME%
gives the following error when it executes:
"The syntax of the command is incorrect."
The environment variable %OUT_NAME% is not being set in your last example, but I think you were doing that to teach me something.
I used the code from your prior example again:
    for /f "delims=" %%I in ('echo %IN_NAME%') do set OUT_NAME=%%~dpnI.zip
and I can see that the correct filename ("C:\Users\<my.name>\Documents\Blah blah blah 20140218.zip") is being set in the environment variable %OUT_NAME%. But again, when I go to rename "ZipFile.zip" to that new name, I get the syntax error. I think
it is because of the spaces in the filename.
Sorry for making this harder than it needs to be...

  • Batch Rename Raw Files After Import?

Can you batch rename raw files after you import, so that the file name changes in Aperture and on the hard drive? I want to be able to edit images, and then rename only the keepers. This has been asked before here, but I could not find an answer.
    Thanks!

    File -> Export, Kind: Original
When you import a Raw to iPhoto it automatically creates a jepg preview of the file. Why? Because you cannot do anything with a Raw: you cannot print it, use it a slideshow and so on. However, with this preview you can work with the photo immediately.
You can, however, also process the Raw in iPhoto simply by editing it. The Raw processing engine in iPhoto the same one used in Aperture, but with less fine control. (Think of the differences between Word and TextEdit, iMovie and Final Cut). The output from the processing then replaces the preview. You can choose to save your output as either jpeg or tiff in the iPhoto Preferences.
When you are processing Raw in iPhoto you will see the Raw badge on the bottom of the iPhoto Window
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
Note: After you have processed a Raw, subsequent edits to the photo are carried out on the processed jpeg (or tiff) not the Raw. If you want to go back to the original then you need to use the Photos -> Reprocess Raw command.
Aperture works in an entirely different way. What are you trying to do, exactly?

Well, the one problem you have is that for the "Move" function, the source file input should be wired to the output of the "Build Path" function, not to the duplicate path out of the "List" function. Also, you need to pass the error cluster around with a shift register. Otherwise you will not catch an error that may have occurred during one of the file rename operations.

  • Will the TOC structure get affected if output file structure is changed?

I have used FlashHelp to generate output for a project hence the output folder has a structure, now while deploying on the server if I make changes in the output file/folder structure will this affect the "table of contents" or any other feature.
Also, while deploying o/p files on the server what needs to be done so that the new customized skin(which i made using flash) appears for the help pages of my application as i will be calling the o/p htm files from my application directly using a script.
I hope the explanation I posted is understandable.

Hi kiki_04 and welcome to the RH community.
The output files from your project can not be moved or renamed without breaking links throughout your project. Any changes to the folders or files MUST be performed inside your RoboHelp project. It is best to think of your output as a single file, even though it isn't. In other words, your output can be moved between locations in its entirety
As for your new skin, this needs to be imported into your RoboHelp project and specified inside your FlashHelp single source layout.

  • Specifying name of Automator output file?

The Automator action "Combine PDF Pages" has an output of type "PDF Files". How do I tell it to save the file with a particular name in a particular place? I run the workflow and there's no error message, but I don't see a new file.

P.S. Now I see that I can make the output file show up in a particular location by using a "Move Finder Items" action. But it shows up with a nonsense name. I would have thought that "Rename Finder Items" would be able to set the name, but I don't see how.

  • RH10: Renaming topic files from FM import

I have an RH 10 project that is created using FrameMaker as single source (I have the techcomm suite). I want to output in WebHelp format.
I have another post about getting RH to output the topic files in HTML, however, if no one has a solution to that, I thought I would rename the files in RH.
However, I have no Rename option, as RH Help says I should. in the Properties dialog box, the name is grayed out.
Is this because the file names are autogenerated during the Frame Book Import?
Is there any way to rename files given my project setup?
Thanks to anyone who can help!
      --Amy

Thread move to FrameMaker Integration forum.
I don't think you can freely rename the files for the reason you state. However you can have them created to a formula. It is in the online help and in the topic on my site about Importing and Linking Word documents, it is the same process for this point.
I am not a FM user so maybe one of those guys can add more.
