Renaming Ad logon name not reflecting during Mac login
Hello Guys,
Thanks in advance, I have added the Mac to Active Directory and being using domain credentials to login to Mac. Post renaming of the User Logon name in AD not able to login to Mac with changed credentials. Kindly suggest me some Links or whitepaper to troubleshoot the issue.
Many Thanks
Krish
Hello TP,
UPN would not solve my issue.
Though I have found that if I delete the user in system preference and keep the home folder I am able to login. But it create a new profile, are you aware of any command to remap the old profile to new renamed account, so the profile,permissions and other options do not change.
Many Thanks
Krish

Hi Azure support,
my name is Linda, Office365 technical support. I want to ask one Azure question on behalf on my customer. she has AAD_basic subscription.
she tried to change logo of one application, but failed. she followed the steps as below:
1. add the "Logo" in the application;
2. logo not reflect in the login page.
I cannot attach the screenshot, if you want, you could email me v-linsha
hope you could give some suggestion and resolution. thank you.Sometimes I know I haven't changed anything in the external file. In this case, the supposed conflict seems to be a bug and I overwrite with Lightroom metadata without exception (but with fingers crossed) - that bug has been reported.
Other times however, I have edited the file in an external editor, and its possible that the external editor wants to add some information that may be worth having, or it may be that its lost the original information - this is when its a dilemma:
If I overwrite disk file with Lightroom metadata, I may be losing what the external editor added.
If I overwrite Lightroom metadata with disk data, I may be losing what Lightroom had and the external editor dropped.
This scenario has not been reported as a bug, since I don't know if it is one. If I could see the difference between the two, then I'd know.

Photo name not reflecting in iPhoto
Hi everyone... Forgive me for this question while I am on a learning curve w/ my Mac. I have a question about photo names not reflecting in iPhoto. I recently loaded some pictres from a compact flash card, and iPhoto started and pulled them right in. I went to the Finder, navigated to Pictures, then the iPhoto library. I found the pictures, and used Automator to change the name of the photos. I opened iPhoto, and went to the Album I created, and all the photos have the old name as given by my camera. I cannot find what I am doing wrong. Thanks for any help. Chris
Chris,
You would open Image Capture (in your Application folder) and set your preference there (weird, huh!)
Using Image Capture to download images and video clips:
Open up Image Capture which is found in the Applications folder.
When it is opened, go to Image Capture/Preferences
Under the General button choose
Camera: When a camera is connected, open Image Capture.
The next time you connect your camera Image Capture will open.
In the window that opens you will see an Options button. Click on that button to set your options.
To find out more about Image Capture (it can do a lot more) Click on Help in the menu bar when Image Capture is open.
iPhoto: How to Change the "Open Automatically" Preference
If you find you can't change any of Image Captures preferences or can't access any drop down menus or they are greyed out, check to make sure Image Capture is loose in the Applications folder and not within a sub folder.

Hello Team,
When I am trying to execute the below code i am getting the following error. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Set oFSO = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")
If Not oFSO.FolderExists(SavePath) Then
Set f = oFSO.CreateFolder(SavePath)
Else
End If

File name or class name not found during Automation operation: 'CreateObject'
I have googled through the error and tried to re-register the scrrun.dll using regsvr32 eventhogh it is successfully registered, i am getting the following error. My PC is windows 7 32bit OS.
any help is greatly appreciated.The following script class will write a log file entry. See if it will run for you.
The script is using a class object that you might not have seen before. A little intro: The top section is just for testing the class. Normally I just comment this out after the class is working well. It should run right way. I would save the vbs file in the editor, That way when you are using autoactpath or currentscriptpath variables they will be able resolve the paths.

(Continuity) Caller Id name not appearing in mac
Hi every body
I face problem with some calls, the Caller Id name sometimes not appearing in incoming call for mac (Continuity) only numbers.

Any ideas how to fix it.Thanks for all your reply,
I found that we have Avaya Definity System with S8700 & found configuration documentation :
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucme/pbx/interop/notes/410364av.pdf
What I found that Avaya side is configured for Qsig ; Basic Supplementary Services is not enabled (System Parameter & Customer options) .
I also found this document ( http://www.svcc.cc.il.us/UserMenu/employees/telephone/images/buttons.pdf Page 362) about Supplementary Service protocol value which most likely change which Qsig Avaya side use.
Once again thank you all , will let you know if things work . -
Icloud keychain setup does not terminate during mac oxs mavericks update
The icloud keychain setup does not terminate (in order for the install to continue) during a mac OSX maverick update from 10.8.something. Any idea?
I found the solution!
Open Calendar on your Mac.
In the left column list of calendars, right click on the calendar in question and "Get Info"
Check the box labeled "Ignore alerts"
Hit "OK" -
Camera.names not correct on mac
Hello,
I developed an AIR app that should use an external camera.
Everything works all well on my development PC, but on the Mac's
that are used for the project, the built in isight-camera, causes
me a lot of troubles. The external Logitech Vision Pro is not
shown. Only one camera is available with Camera.names.
So the built in camera is the only one that seems to be
available in AIR. I wrote some code which can be used in an AIR app
and a web app to test the list with available cameras and connect
to one of them.
<mx:Script>
<![CDATA[
private function connectCamera():void {
var cam:Camera =
Camera.getCamera(cbCameras.selectedIndex.toString());
videodisplayer.attachCamera(cam);
]]>
</mx:Script>
<mx:ComboBox id="cbCameras" x="10" y="10"
dataProvider="{Camera.names}" width="260" change="connectCamera();"
/>
<mx:Button x="275" y="10" label="Start"
click="connectCamera();"/>
<mx:TextArea x="10" y="40" text="Camera names:
{Camera.names.toString()}" width="320"/>
<mx:TextInput x="10" y="92" text="Number of cameras:
{Camera.names.length.toString()}" width="320"/>
<mx:VideoDisplay id="videodisplayer" x="10" y="122"
width="320" height="240"/>
To make it even more frustrating you should try the following
with Flex:
* use this code in an AIR app and run it
* select "USB Video Class Video", which will show up the
built in camera
* leave this screen open
* use this code in a web app and run it too
* this will show up two extra cameras: "DV Video" and "IIDC
FireWire Video"
* select the same USB camera, and in my case this showed the
external connected camera !
Any ideas what's going wrong ?
Tried this with different apple computers, different versions
of OS X.
Problem could be solved if the internal webcam would be
disabled, but this doesn't seem to be possible.
Thanks a lot,
FrankYou're right, there seems to be no way to disable the built-in iSight cam on the MacBook/MacBook Pro - BIG mistake on Apple's part! Here's a link to a discussion about this from the Apple forum:
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1374761
This quote, from the page linked above, MIGHT be helpful to you:
My Logictech 9000 doesn't show up in the Flash video source dropdown for me either. Selecting USB camera just selects the iSight.
However, I did find a workaround: it seems to choose the first available usb webcam, which is typically the built-in iSight. If you have a mac mini with no built-in iSight, it uses the external camera by default. For my MacBook, I found the trick was to make the iSight busy by opening Photo Booth first, then opening the flash chat page. That causes the flash player to find and use the external USB webcam.
Note: your webcam probably has to support the new standard USB Video plug-and-play protocol for this to work, and perhaps only on Leopard.
Of course, have fun trying to explain this to other users of your program... but maybe there is somehow a way that you could code for this, by adding some script that runs the iSight just for the sake of distracting it, before the script runs that is supposed to detect and launch a USB cam as part of your program. Good luck! -
AD Process Form - Renaming the field name not happening
Hi Experts,
I have changed the label name of "AD Server" to "Active Directory (AD) Resource" in the process form (UD_ADUSER) by creating a new version. But still the process form displays the old label name "AD Server". Its not displaying the new label name.
Can u assist me?
Thanks & Regards
INIYAYou need to use the Form Version Control utility. Then switch all the user's to the new one. You can also provide what the default value should be for the field. The documentation should provide you the details.
Or you can use SQL and update all the users to the correct IT Resource, but remember it will be a long value.

Sql server 2012 Logon trigger not working for certain logins
Hello. I created a login trigger to insert data for each login in a table, and it works for all logins except one that is format domain\login
and the login ends with the dollar sign(actual name is domain\CTXDEVDCSI1$).
I had been using varchar, but after reading other forum posts, I changed the varchar's to nvarchar's, but it still fails for that id.
The errors written to the sql server error log were the usual "login failed due to trigger execution".
I had granted insert on the rvvlogindata table in dsa to public, and only one id wasn't able to login after that.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated!
Here's the modified table ddl:
SET ANSI_NULLS ON
GO
SET QUOTED_IDENTIFIER ON
GO
CREATE TABLE [dbo].[rvvlogindata](
[sessionId] [int] NULL,
[LoginTime] [datetime] NULL,
[HostName] [nvarchar](50) NULL,
[ProgramName] [nvarchar](300) NULL,
[LoginName] [nvarchar](50) NULL,
[ClientHost] [nvarchar](50) NULL
) ON [PRIMARY]
GO
Here's the logon trigger code:
SET ANSI_NULLS ON
GO
SET QUOTED_IDENTIFIER ON
GO
create trigger [LOGIN_IP_RESTRICTION] on all server for logon
as
Begin
Declare @LogonTriggerData xml,

set @LoginName = @LogonTriggerData.value('(/EVENT_INSTANCE/LoginName)[1]', 'varchar(50)')
set @ClientHost = @LogonTriggerData.value('(/EVENT_INSTANCE/ClientHost)[1]', 'varchar(50)')
set @HostName = HOST_NAME()
set @AppName = APP_NAME()
insert into dsa.dbo.rvvlogindata

GOErland, I wanted to add more info to my reply earlier today.
sp_who2 showed no blocking, activity monitor from my local PC SSMS showed no major waits or high i/o or cpu activity.
I was wondering if you have any suggestions on how to find out what was the cause of the 5+ minute wait for SSMS on the remote desktop to respond and fully come up.
I definitely can't put this in production with this hanging delay possibly occurring there.
I was connecting as read_user when it hung.
sp_who2 output at the time was:

Changing the Column Name in Criteria is not reflected on the Column Selecto
When we rename the column name in the Criteria, it is not being reflected on the Column Selector drop down list.
Since you have to add the columns from the presentation layer to the column selector view, my guess is you would have to rename the columns at the presentation layer to accomplish that.

Changes in Logonlables.properties are not reflecting in Logon screen in EP
Hi frndz..
Am chnaging the logon screen branding image and text and also the WELCOME text n the copy rights text also.
For this am following a like in that itz saying to take the PAR file "com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.apr"
from the following localtion.
<J2EE_Engine_Instance>\j2ee\cluster\server<X>\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\deployment\pcd.
but i didn't find any par like above the above specified location, but i found tha same par in the path of
<J2EE_Engine_Instance>\j2ee\cluster\server<X>\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\deployment\temp.
so i taken tha PAR from ther n made the chnages in same PAR only i did't renamed PAR in same par only i made the chnages but itz not reflecting after server restart also
Thanks in Advance
Regards
RajeshHi,
Why don't you try from portal end? downloading and uploading the par file from portal.
Check this blog https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/60caa539-8e51-2a10-0e83-e0a68ab3f5aa

SQL Server Service is not reflecting to the new name.
Hi,
I just rename the computer and use the command below to rename the SQL Server but the SQL Server Service is not reflecting to the new name.
Is there a way to change the SQL Server Service and agent to reflect the new name or do I have to re-install sql server.
I am using SQL 2008 R2.
Thank you in advance.If running "SELECT
@@servername" yields the old server name, it means the instance has not been renamed.
you must run statement to drop the old name of the instance and recreate it with the new name as the default (local) one..
EXEC master.dbo.sp_dropserver 'MACHINENAME\OLDINSTANCENAME'
go
EXEC master.dbo.sp_addserver 'MACHINENAME\newINSTANCENAME', 'local'
go
I took the code here:
http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/sqlserver/en-US/c07ab906-dabf-4303-9737-d430d82c4f42/how-to-rename-instance-of-sql-server-2008-r2?forum=sqltools
Once you did this, look at your maintenance plans. I sometime end up having one or two still following the old name. Especially if you create this new server from a copy of another virtualized one. -
Compiled CHM File Does Not Reflect New Project Name
I have read many of the experts' responses to posts and found them extremely helpful. However, I have not seen one that addresses my issue.
I have RH HTML Version RH8. I renamed a project via 1) File - Rename Project and 2) Single Source Layouts - Primary Layout - Properties - Output Folder and File Name.
Two problems are: 1) The Project Folder name still reflects the old project name and 2) The CHM file still reflects the old project name.
As a result, the output Help that the user sees still has the old project name in the title bar.
All generated files as well as the RoboHelpHTML Project File were changed to the new project name, just as the RENAME PROJECTS Help says it should. However, the CHM file does not reflect the new project name as it says it should.
1) Can I change the Folder name that was created when I compiled the Help file to the correct name?
2) Can I change the FILENAME in the SELECT OUTPUT FOLDER AND FILENAME window?
3) Can I / should I rename the TOC and Index filenames from the old project name to the new project name? (Help says that changing the project name does not change these file names and it didn't.)
Will any of these actions correct the problem? I appreciate any help you can give.Welcome to our community
Try File > Project Settings.
And if that doesn't get it, try the Project Set-up pod, windows and change the Window Caption.
Cheers... Rick

You do not have sufficient access privileges to rename the iten "name"
Hi,
I want to rename my short name in my powerbook and I can't, it shows me You do not have sufficient access privileges to rename the iten "name".
can somebody help me plsYou cannot properly change the short name of your account in the Finder; you need to use this application to do it, or change the short name to the desired name in the NetInfo Manager, which is in the /Applications/Utilities/ folder. Your short name is stored in several places in the NetInfo Manager; these are parts of the information for your user account and a few groups.
If there are no administrator accounts on the machine, use these instructions to add administrator access to one of your accounts.
