Renaming of transports

Good morning,
I have an ECC5 HR (SID:DEV) installation which we are migrating to ECC6 ERP (SID:DEV).
The transport naming used in ECC5 already exists on ECC6 and the project we have for ECC6 ERP does not want me to delete any transports.
How can I ensure that the ECC5 transports have unique transport naming so that I can import those transports in ECC6?
Anette

Hi Anette,
Firstly, it is not a good idea to import transports from a lower level release into a higher level release in the first place.  There are likely configuration differences and certainly repository differences between the releases that will cause at least some of the transports to error out.
An upgrade takes care of migrating the still used configuration from one release to another.  You would of course have to configure new processes/items in the higher level release only.  However, for some reason you are performing a migration instead of an upgrade.
It is technically possible to manipulate transport numbers, but this should only be done with instructions and approval from SAP Support.
So, in conclusion, I would not attempt to do what you are asking.
Best Regards,
Matt

  • Rename of Transport Request Name

    Hi Friends,
How do we can rename Transport request description in BID system?
Can we rename the same Transport request description in BIQ system(Once it is imported from BID system) ?
    Thanks in Advance...

    Hi ,
Regarding your query for renaming the transport, the transport request can be renamed only when it is in Development system and once it is released or being imported into the Quality system it cannot be renamed.
As suggested above, go to SE09, double click -> go to edit mode and chance the anme under properties tab.
    Hope it helps,

  • One SLD means rename of SAP system after transport?

On development got the situation of having naming conventions for SAP boxes like R3<b>D</b>CLNT100 within the configuration directory. Do I have to rename manually my systems after a transport to Q into R3<b>Q</b>CLNT100?

    Hi Yuki
Does it matter what transport system you are using? File transport system or the CMS?
Normally, you define a business system as transport target, which is different from the business system the transport target is being defined for.
If we have the requirement to have the following transport targets:
    BS_MJD (Dev) -> BS_MJQ (Tst) -> BS_MJP (Prd)
we should always define a target for that system?

  • Change KM Transport file  name ( .kmc).. rename

    Hi all,
In KM transport, while exporting the package... content administration -> km content -> transport -> export
    a) First we will give the transport package name add the KM files.
    b) Then will go to pending exports from the context menu of the transport package we will select start export.
    c) next step it will give the store path of the transport package and file name ( i.e. xxx.KMC ).
now the issue is... This both stored path and file name are read only. the ".kmc" file is the id which is a xx digit numeric number.
Our client wants to change the name of this file name (.kmc) to his own naming convension for easy use and better understanding.
what needs to be done for this???
    Thanks,
    PradeeP

    Pradeep,
The name of the archive file is composed of a technical ID and the ending .kmc
    <technical ID>.kmc
but if you are looking at changing the technical ID, I dont think, SAP recommends doing that. You can have a look at the 3rd point in this help document..

  • Rename output file for File Transport

I am using ALSB 2.6.When I created file transport for detect file in C:/filein directory.I found that the name of output file didn't same as input file, example input-file = IgniteRB output-file = 6815685856805434446-1b555112.11a526f862f.-7fb0
Please help me identify this problem? Thank you :)

If you only need to change the name, then in your publish sub-actions, use the "Set Transport Headers" action. You should be able to check "Pass all Headers through Pipeline" and skip selecting the specific header.
Or in the list for headers there is one for fileName.
You can derive it from the source name using the $inbound variable, or select "copy from inbound".
If you need to change the path (instead of business service value) then you can use URI setting in "Routing Options" action.

  • How to use a file transport proxy service as trigger for a webservice

    Hi,
I've implemented a alsb file transport proxy service. This proxy is watching a common directory and detects new files. After detection, the proxy move them in an archive folder.
After that I want call an external webservice with the filename as input parameter.
How can I comfigure that with the alsb console.
    best regards
    Oliver
with the to extract the filename after it was renamed by the proxy service.

How do you invoke/ instantiate the file based proxy service. Does it just run on activation in sb console? Does it continue to detect files or does it stop after detecting one file?
Also what is the format of the URL that points to the file folder.
For Ex: I have a folder named "TestFiles" on the C:\drive of the server.

  • Need TP command for Add  Transport Request to import Queue all at a time

    Hi SAP gurus,
Can you tell the o/s  or  TP  command  to  Add   Transport Request to import Queue all at a time which are available in co files directory   ,
Because I have to add 500- 600 request .  For every request I canu2019t  do like this  STMS_IMPORT  -- Extras=> other requests -add--
    Thanks and regards
    babu

    Hi,
You can export list of all transport requests from your DEV system in one shot, from SE09-> Display (provide your required selection criteria) -> Goto -> "Display as List"
You can export these all Transport Requests as Spreadsheet. Then Filter out all your required 400 to 500 Transport Requests.
Now,use another excel sheet to create a file with the list of required transport request Nos only, then concatenate all of them to generate the required TP commands as mentioned below.
The syntax will become as follows:
    column1           column2         column3
    tp addtobuffer DEVK900123 <SID> pf=<Drive>:\usr\sap\trans\bin\TP_DOMAIN_<SID>.PFL
    tp addtobuffer DEVK900124 <SID> pf=<Drive>:\usr\sap\trans\bin\TP_DOMAIN_<SID>.PFL
    tp addtobuffer DEVK900125 <SID> pf=<Drive>:\usr\sap\trans\bin\TP_DOMAIN_<SID>.PFL
    tp addtobuffer DEVK900126 <SID> pf=<Drive>:\usr\sap\trans\bin\TP_DOMAIN_<SID>.PFL
    tp addtobuffer DEVK900127 <SID> pf=<Drive>:\usr\sap\trans\bin\TP_DOMAIN_<SID>.PFL
    tp import          DEVK900123 <SID> client=### pf=<Drive>:\usr\sap\trans\bin\TP_DOMAIN_<SID>.PFL
    tp import          DEVK900124 <SID> client=### pf=<Drive>:\usr\sap\trans\bin\TP_DOMAIN_<SID>.PFL
    tp import          DEVK900125 <SID> client=### pf=<Drive>:\usr\sap\trans\bin\TP_DOMAIN_<SID>.PFL
    tp import          DEVK900126 <SID> client=### pf=<Drive>:\usr\sap\trans\bin\TP_DOMAIN_<SID>.PFL
    tp import          DEVK900127 <SID> client=### pf=<Drive>:\usr\sap\trans\bin\TP_DOMAIN_<SID>.PFL
-> Open Notepad and Copy+Paste these three columns & save the text file in the <Drive>:\usr\sap\trans\bin\ folder.
-> Then rename this .txt file to *.bat.
-> open a command prompt and change to the <Drive>:\usr\sap\trans\bin\ folder and run the .bat batch file.
Make sure that object lists of all the Trans. Requests are checked and confirmed for the transport to avoid data incosistency in target system. (e.g. Number Range Object)

  • File transport on business service

We have a messaging flow in OSB 10gR3 that read a message from a JMS queue and puts the file in an directory on an IBM AIX platform.
There have been some problems with the OSB not able to rename the files from example.xml.a to example.xml due to the fact that the destination application already is reading the example.xml.a file.
I think that the xml.a is a temporary file used by the OSB to produce the target file in the directory on the file system and then renaming it to example.xml
Now I have two questions on this subject:
Is there any way to influence this behaviour of the file transport in OSB?
Is there any documentation available on the file transport protocol that goes deeper on the subject than the Oracle documentation on this protocol.
    Thanks
    Henk Westra

The problem is that the consumer application is picking up all files that appear in the directory. It doesn't matter what you put in.
We suggested that they use a file mask on the types of files that need to be picked up, but that seems to be a problem.
So all I want to know is, what is the behaviour of the file transport protocol as a business server and if there is any way to influence this.
And if my assumption is correct that the .a suffix is usd by the OSB while processing files.
Any extra documentation about the file transport protocol is welcome.
    Thanks
    Henk

  • How to determine deleted objects in a transport

    Hi
I create a new report Z_TEST_1 and assign this one to a new transport request.
Now I rename this report to Z_TEST_1B
In my transport are two entries:
    -Z_TEST_1
    -Z_TEST_2
Now I read this objects with function module TR_READ_COMM
Afterwards I want to analyse the objects of this transport
But how can I see which objects exists and which not?
I only need the (still) existing objects (in my test case: Z_TEST_2)
I don't want to check every single object if this object still exists. I know I could check the entry in table TRDIR (for reports).
But there are a lot more object kinds in my transport (function modules, dictionary objects, forms, table keys)....
Does anyone have a simple solution for this problem?
    Thanks
    Andy

    Hello There.
SE03 is for finding the existing objects according to your first question (for function modules, reports, etc).
As your object is not imported or transported.
You need to find your deleted objects in Transaction SE95.
    In the window beneath,
    1. Go to window, Reset Objects.
    2. Check the deleted objects.
    3. You can also mention your request or package.
    4. Execute.
    5. Go to Deleted objects node.
    6. Navigate to the node desired.
    7. You can also find the request related to that business object by clicking on find requests.
    These are the logs.
If you have already tried out then its good or else give feedback.
    Good Luck & Regards.

  • How to change or rename the logical system name T90CLNT090 IN BI 7

    HI Expert's,
i am really digging for the solution of changing or renaming the logical system name technical name T90CLNT090.
in our company we are using ecc5.0 with bi 3.5 and ecc6 with bi 7. In BW 3.5 having a connection with R/3 and the technical name of the myself bw source system(logical system) is T90CLNT090.
In bi 7 also the logical system name is same as T90CLNT090. Because of the same system name(Logical name) it is not active in BI7 and also it's giving error when i am activating the DSO Object as Transfer structure prefix for source system T90CLNT090 is not defined.
because of this i am not able to create the source system between r/3 also.
so how to change this source system name for T90CLNT090.

    Hi,
Pls follow this OSS note : 325525.
Note 325525 - Copying and renaming systems in a BW environment
    Summary
Symptom WARNING: THIS NOTE HAS BEEN REPLACED.  FOR MORE CURRENT AND MORE COMPREHENSIVE INFORMATION SEE NEW NOTE 886102.
You want to copy and or rename one or more systems (database or client copy). One or more of the systems is a BW system or is connected to a BW system.
Caution: This note only deals with problems that occur in the BW source system connections. Other problems that occur in the BW environment (indexes) are NOT dealt with. See URL http://www.service.sap.com/bw --> Services & Implementation --> System copy & Migration.
Other terms BW, source system, OLTP, database copy, client copy, system infrastructure, transport system, connections, RFC connection, trfc, transfer structure, IDoc, ALE customizing, logical system name, system changeability, renaming systems, system copy
Solution Several scenarios are possible in this environment. Find the scenario relevant to your situation below and execute the steps listed or read the note(s) specified:
Scenario 1) You do not want to copy a system but only want to rename one (changing a logical system name).
Solution scenario 1): Execute Transaction BDLS both in the client to be renamed and in the connected BWs or BW source systems. To do this, see Notes 121163 and 369758.
Check the RFC destinations in all connected BWs/BW source systems as described in Note 524554.
Reactivate all partner agreements that carry the new logical system name after renaming.
Scenario 2) You want to copy the entire system infrastructure connected by the BW source system connections (that means the entire system group) by a database copy. SAP recommends this procedure for copying systems.
               Solution scenario 2):
If you want to rename one or more of the copied systems, then execute Transaction BDLS both in the client you wish to rename and in all the connected BW and BW source systems. See Note 121163.
Make sure that an RFC destination exists with the new logical name in every connected BW or BW source system.
Reactivate all partner agreements that carry the new logical system name after renaming.
Change the hosts in the appropriate RFC destinations so that they refer to the correct computer. For this, see Note 524554.
Scenario 3) You want to copy a single BW system of the group by database copy.
Scenario 3)a) You only want to exchange the hardware of your system but do not want to rename the system.
Solution scenario 3)a): You do not need to execute follow-up work regarding the system connections, except for adjusting the IP address in the RFC destinations of the connected system.
Scenario 3)b) You want to keep the original system of the copy so that you have two systems after copying.
Solution scenario 3)b): See Note 184754.
Scenario 4) You want to copy a single source system of the group by database copy.
Scenario 4)a) You only want to exchange the hardware of your system but do not want to rename the system.
Solution scenario 4)a): You do not need to execute follow-up work regarding the system connections, except for adjusting the IP address in the RFC destinations of the connected system.
Scenario 4)b) You want to keep the original system of the copy so that you have two systems after copying.
Solution scenario 4)b): See Note 184322.
Scenario 5) You want to import a client copy in a source system.
Solution scenario 5): See Note 325470.

  • Re-transport the transport request to NQA server after system refresh

    Hi
Users are moving the transport requests in NQA (quality server) using STMS tcode and Basis team is moving the trasnport requests using TP command in operating system level.
There are some transport requests that are released and are moved only to NQA server but not in Production server.
After the NQA refresh from Production server, we need to re-create the trasnport route for NQA server
in NQA using SE06 and STMS.
Now users want to re-transport the requests again in NQA server that was moved to NQA before the system copy but they are not able to make it.  In the transport queue, users are able to see their transport requests but they are not able to re-transport.
When basis team try to move the same transport requests using TP command in operating system level, it failed with  error:

"STMS --> Request -->Delete (the request number)" method delete the transport request from transport queue and from the cofiles/data directory of the operating system and then  " STMS --> extra-> other request-> add" allow us to put the transport request back to transport queue in NQA server. Once the transport requests are in queue, we can re-transport all of them one by one or in group.
Question: Is it the right way to re-transport the request in NQA (first delete if from transport queue and then add and then re-import in NQA server).
Id there is any other way to re-transport the requests, pls suggest us.
    Thanks
    Amar

    Amar,
Depending on how many tarnsports you have and also if this is one time, what you can do is ask Basis guys to write a small script which adds to the buffer to your NQA system.
    Steps:
    1) under /usr/sap/trans/buffer rename the NQA buffer file.
    2) create a new empty file NQA (make sure permissions are identical)
    3) Provide the list of transports and ask Basis team to put it in a file at Unix level
    4) Run a script which will add to the buffer from the source file.
    5) From STMS refresh the NQA queue and you should see all the transports ready for import.
    Hope this helps.

  • Transport to different location

    Hi All,
I been go through standard KM Content transport method and ICE protocol transport. My requirement is to transport KM content (basically folders and docs) from Dev to Prod server but in a different location. For example, in Dev, the content i want to transport is from:
    /my_stuff/
But after i saved the achieve file, i want to transport to a different location in Prod, e.g.
    /my_stuff_at_dev/
But both standard KM transport method and ICE will replace/create achieve files from one server to the same location of the other server. So is that possible to transport to different location in the target server?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Raghu,
    Thanks for your answer.
Is that mean i need to, say in Prod server:
1), create a temporary repository in KM
2), cut/paste the original my_stuff folder and its content to the temp repository
3), transport folder my_stuff from Dev to Prod
    4), rename it to my_stuff_at_dev
5), cut and paste my_stuff_at_dev to the temp repository
6), move Prod's original my_stuff folder from the new repository back to its original position
Am i right for these steps?
    Thanks!
