Renaming proto files in the browser interface deletes them from my ipad.

Step 1. Create a new proto project, on your ipad. It defaults its name to "Project 2".
Step 2. Add some drawings/text/what ever, just to have something in it.
Step 3. Go back to the "home screen" (top left arrow) to see your samples folder, and the "project 2" listed.
Step 4. Watch it sync to the cloud.
Step 5. Go to https://creative.adobe.com/files and see your project 2 listed there.
Step 6. Rename "Project 2" to something more sensible, like "This is my awesome client project" or, you know, what ever you need to call it, so you know what it is.
Step 7. Go back to your ipad, watch Proto "sync", and the project you just created, vanishes from Proto, meaning you can't work on it any more.
Asking proto to sync, doesn't retrieve it from creative cloud, and now its just on creative cloud, how ever you left it, and I can't figure out how to get it back on my ipad.
This... is a pretty serious bug.
It appears the act of renaming it deletes it from the ipad.

Yes this is a bug.
A workaround is to rename the file on the web to anything with '.proto' on the end. It will then re-appear on your iPad.

If you mean you deleted the files from Pages on your phone whilst using iCloud, then yes they will disappear from Pages on your iPad too.
If you simply deleted the app from your phone, if you were using iCloud then they should not have disappeared from your iPad.
It's not clear from your post, which of these you did.

If the shows are in fact still on the pad, they will be found in the videos app, not the music or I tunes app. Look there and see if they are still there.
If you don't see them there, go to the searchlight screen ( farthest left home page) and type in the name of one of the shows. If it is on the pad, hiding somewhere, this will find it.
If they are not there, they should not be using up space.
To get them back onto your pad, plug in and sync again. Make sure you transfer purchases first. Before you sync, take a look at the video tab in your I tunes, and check what you want and don't want synced.

I am making a book in Aperture 3. I want to change some of the pages that I have put together, and want to remove some of the photos from some of the pages, to put them on another page. How can I remove the photos without deleting them from the album?

As a follow-up, I have found that clicking on the photo in the book also highlights the photo on the strip below. So, if you then hit delete, you will delete the photo from both the book page and the album (which is the book, the way I have it set up). If you only want to delete it from the book page, you then have to un-click the photo on the strip below, or both will be deleted. This seems unwieldy. I deleted 6 photos from a page and found all of them gone from the album. The only way that I can see to keep them in the album is to then unselect them from the bottom strip after selecting them fro the page. This seems to call for an extra step.

Thanx for the link...here's my problem. I built my windows pc and installed 2 hard drives...but the larger one isn't accessible right now...not sure why...but the solid state little one is full. This is a problem I need one of my kid's to help me address. I have a lot of photos 'cause my husbands into photography, we travel a lot, and somehow thousands of photos he took, plus ones I took, plus videos I took, ended up on my iPhone...and they are different in a lot of cases from the photos on the iPad that we share. We've already taken two brief trips where I wanted to use my camera and couldn't...and I was looking for a quick way to address my picture taking ability...because we are leaving for another trip in a week, and another one right after that. This is probably way more info than you need...but there are probably duplicates...but until I go thru them I won't know. I could be wrong, but I thought when I backed up my photos to iCloud that all the photos in the photo app were backed up. Maybe I'm wrong and it's only those in the Photo Stream...in which case I should do something about that as well, 'cause I've upgraded our storage plan twice now...and it is getting pretty expensive...and I don't even know how to use it other than to do a complete restore when you get a new device which I just did recently because my son wanted our old iPad for a graduation present, and I kind of wanted the better camera on the new iPad, so I got one...and it took a week to retrieve everything from the cloud on our wi-fi! No. They will remain on the Mac. That's one of the reasons why it's a good idea to import your treasured photos. If something happens to the iPad, you still have your photos.

I had installed a new driver and then, downloaded Firefox 7. It has over 100 cookies in the download. Deleting them from cookies in the browser does not help since is within the download. How can I permanently delet these cookies? Thank you.

Since it is in the download, I am unable to permanently delete these (over 100) cookies and they continue to reoccur each time I open the browser. Sometimes the cookies will not delete when I try to remove only "one" cookie and I must remove "all". I have used Firefox as my browser for years but this has never happened.

You can't remove opt-out cookies that are added by an extension as long as that extension is enabled or installed. If you choose to install such an extension then you have to accept the presence of 100 or more cookies added by the extension.

where is your library located?
did you apply any updates or upgrades just prior to the problem occurring?
are you running a "managed" or "referenced" library?
what type of Mac?
how much free space on your boot drive?

How did the photos get onto the iPad ? Only photos taken with the iPad, copied onto it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites etc can be deleted directly in the iPad's Photos app - either via the trashcan icon in the top right corner if viewing the photo in full screen, or via the icon of the box with the arrow coming out of it (Edit button on iOS 6) in thumbnail view.
Photos that were synced from your computer can't be deleted directly in the Photos app - you either need to move/remove/de-select them from where they were synced from on your computer and re-syncing e.g. to remove a synced folder de-select that folder on the Photos tab and re-sync, to remove all synced photos select and sync an empty folder. Depending upon what iOS version that the iPad is on, you might be able to delete all synced photos by swiping across the 'Photo Library' line in Settings > General > Usage > Photos & Camera (that should give you a Delete button but I haven't tried tapping it to see if it works).

How do I remove apps from my app store history after I have deleted them from my iPad?

After trying an app and deciding that is isn't what I want and deleting it, I see that it still shows up when I look at my "purchased" apps in the App Store. I'd like to purge them from my device's history. I don't want them saved or backed up by iTunes, if that could even happen.
Also, App Store on my iPad always shows on its icon that I have more updates than I can find when I go into App Store. For example it may show 2 updates available, but when I go into App Store it says all apps are updated, yet the icon still shows 2 when I return to the home screen. Is this related to the issue above?

There is no way to remove apps from your purchase history. It simply cannot be done. You can HIDE apps from the purchased tab, but you can NEVER delete them.

As for the updates not clearing, try closing the App Store app and reboot your iPad,
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

You can only subscribe to iTunes Match, and upload your music to it, from your computer's iTunes library - you can't do it from an iPad.
If they are iTunes purchases then you might be able to redownload them on your computer's iTunes via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page (and on your iPad 4 and iPhone via the Purchased tab in the iTunes store apps on them). For music that you got from other sources (e.g. copied from CDs) then if it's no longer on your computer and you don't have it on a backup, then there are some programs listed half-way down this page which should be able to copy them back : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991

After copying my Applications and Users folders to external drive using Carbon Cooy Cloner, I cannot see the files on the drive when accessing them from a freshly installed OS.

The folder where the Archive should be is empty yet activity monitor shows that the drive isn't empty

Use Data Rescue on the Mac and out the recovered files to another external drive.
Just grab your users files, the rest you trash. That's all you can do.
