Renaming S_AS2 service

Hi Folks,
I was wondering if it would be possible to use "S_AS2_CustomerName" instead of "S_AS2" as the service name for a party in AS2 connectivity?

Sorry, what I meant was copying instead of renaming. I copied S_AS2 and renamed it to S_AS2_CustomerName. I tested that and it didnt work. I am not sure why.
I will create a new business service instead and test that.

Rename State Service Database in SharePoint 2010

As the title says, I want to rename/change database for State Service Application.
I did some experiments wit it as suggested by others but I think I somehow managed to broken my service.
I can SharePoint Products Configuration again and I got another database State_Service_GUID which I didnt want at the first place.
I followed the steps on

I am even not sure if my service is properly running or not. I can see it in Service Applications page in Central Administration as Started but I cannot select it and use ribbon operations on it.

Rename the Service Database
Go to SQL Management Studio and rename the database
Open SQL Management Studio. You may have to go to your SQL Server to do this.
Attach to the instance that host SharePoint
Find your database
Right click on the database name and choose Rename
Delete the GUID off the end of the name or make the name whatever you want then press Enter. SQL Database is now renamed. Notice I changed all of the spaces to underscores. Why? Because DBAs hate spaces in names more than they hate GUIDs and I am a nice
guy.
Now go to your SharePoint Server and use PowerShell to set the database name.
Click Start > All Programs > Microsoft SharePoint 2010 Products > SharePoint 2010 Management Shell. If you have UAC enabled be sure to run it as Administrator.
Then run the following line. Be sure to replace your info for service app and database name.
Now you can celebrate you have saved the world another GUID. I have a master post here with all of the anti GUID posts linked in one place. Right here.

Renamed SharePoint Services 3.0 Server

We renamed a server with SharePoint Services 3.0 installed. It seems that the SharePoint instance still things the computer is using the old name. I can't get into Central Administration. Is there a way to fix this without switching the name back?

For what it's worth, I found out about the stsadm command which solved my problem.
cd C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\12\BIN
stsadm -o renameserver -newservername computer2 -oldservername computer1
Then I went into Central Administration and updated the access mappings.

The rename never works out, its like he didn't see the outputVar
if I make a assing after the service callout and assing all the content in
outputVar in another variable named outPutVar2 the rename in outPutVar2 works just fine...
i dont know if this is a mistake in osb or is mine.

I was reading in some books that // in osb it has to be avoided for perfomance issues, i just
want to know if /*/*/return[1]/items is the same of //return/items.
I used baseX6 for testing the Xpaths and Xquerys, and if i put the xml give above as input
and i try //return/items gives the same result as /*/*/return[1]/items, but it doesn't work out
in osb, why can be that??

Rename report service

hi,
I have a prblem with Reports Server 9iAS.
After install of 9ias report definition for service by default is report:rep_ machine name.
When I run may form and I call a report I have this error frm-41213: Unable to connect to the report server rep_ machine name.
In the Oracle9ias forms service doc I read that the report service name cannot have a underscore.
Ok, Can I rename the report service ??? or Can I create another report service and delete the default report service ???

I wanted to change it since i thought the login was by the Essbase service name. I realized now its by the computer name ( i always had both with same name).

Rename webgui-service and access from iview ??

Hi all,
I have a question concerning the integration of ITS in an iview. We have EP6 running with integration of some webgui-functionalities. Everything works fine so far, but we need to do some modifications and this is where some questions pop up:
1. when a backend system (ITS) is configured in the EP-system landscape the ITS-hostname and ITS-path (always "/scripts/wgate" ?) have to be defined. Where is the ITS-service (usually "webgui" defined ? I didn't finf any reference to the ITS-service in the system configuration.
Is is correct that the "guitype" and resulting from this the service "webgui" is defined in the iview creation/editing where guitype is set to "WebGui" fro ITS-backend handling ?
2. now the main question: is it possible to change/rename the ITS service ? Example: I want to use an ITS-service "ZTEST" instead of "WEBGUI".
Background is we need to run 1 ITS instance with different services (one service for each backend).
Has anyone done something similar ?

after doing some research and some "trial and error" we came to the conclusion that it is NOT possible to specify a different ITS service in the iViews.
- the iView SAP transaction is fixed to ITS service 'webgui'
- we did some tests with the URL iView and this might be a possible solution, but only as long as you only use for example one function user for the backend transaction. SSO is not possible with URL iView. And this is what we need. So we leave things alone from here...

Rename SAP service account

I need to change the name of the portal Service account in our domain because of naming convention issues.
Beside renaming this in the local and global domain, do i need to do any changes on the J2EE Engine or in the WebAS?

I'm assuming you're on windows?
I would try this - it should work:
Copy the sapserviceSID user that the services run under to your new user.
Set the environment variables to be the same too (these are the most important parts of the user).
Chnage the service to run under the new user.
Stop service, start service, cross fingers.
It should work though as long as the rights and environment variables are set correctly.

I have a account that runs a service, This service has delegation rights (Users coming from IIS show up at the Database server with the real account, not the app pool). If I rename the account that runs the service, will that effect
delegation or is the sid what binds delegation information?

Additionally, delegation is only intended to be used by service accounts, which should have registered SPNs, as opposed to a regular user account which typically does not have SPNs.

Create Service Consumer BS: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError

I am trying to create service Consumer Business Service (consume a Web Service from JD Edwards Enterprise One).
To do that I have followed the next steps:
1) Download the WSDL file from CRM On Demand’s web page
2) From JDE:
a. Create a business service from OMW
b. Generate a web service proxy within JDeveloper
In this step, it was necessary rename the Business Service Package =>
A portion of the proxy package name must be in upper case; however, JDeveloper named the proxy using lower case.
I have followed “JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools 8.97 Business Services Development Guide” to rename the Business Service Package:
"Renaming the Business Service Package
You must rename the package so that the name matches the case of the rest of the
business service. After you rename the package, you should rebuild the code to ensure
no errors exist. Use these steps to rename the business service package.
► To rename business service package
In the business service project on JDeveloper
1. Select the business service package, and then click Replace in Files on the Search menu.
2. On the Replace in Files window, enter the lower case name (for example, jrh90i20).
3. Enter the upper case name (for example, JRH90I20).
4. In the Search Path pane, select the Active Project option.
5. Click OK.
The upper case name appears.
6. Save the renamed file by selecting Save All from the File menu.

However, when I try to generate a secure proxy I have the error:
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError --> It is trying to find the package with lower case name, however it is in upper case name…
Do you know if it is necessary to do something change more? Change some reference file or any path?
I think that when JDeveloper deploys the secure proxy, internally it has some reference with the lower case name, and it isn’t changed with “Renaming the Business Service Package”…
I am looking for some file that has some reference but I haven’t found nothing…

did you stop the Search service Application before staring the process.
Are you on the SharePoint Server? try to Run the SharePoint powershell console as Administrator.
Also make sure the account under which you are running powershell having the rights on the new Databases.
try this one and see if you can get the searchservices application name:
$SearchService = Get-SPEnterpriseSearchServiceApplication <SearchServiceApplicationName>
$SearchService

Configuring Automatic Updates using Powershell for Server 2012: wsuaserv service invalid

This server is configured as a core server (no gui).
In the following article, to enable automatic updates, one method is to configure the wsuaserv service:

Uh, he meant the command at the bottom on the referenced web page, not the net helpmsg.
If you look at the original post, the name of the service IS incorrect, just as you specified it incorrectly. The service name is 'wuauserv'. So it is not Microsoft has renamed the service; you have tried to rename the service. <wink>

How to start OracleOraDb10g_home1iSQL*Plus service from command line (PC)

After installing 10G, I now have a service with this name: OracleOraDb10g_home1iSQL*Plus
I need to be able to start/stop the service from windows 2000 command line,
BUT "net start OracleOraDb10g_home1iSQL*Plus" DOES NOT WORK.
Adding quotes around the service name does not solve the problem either.
Both attempts give "The service name is invalid" errors.
Can anyone provide a solution?

Sorry, but none of the suggestions works. Thanks for trying though.
1) Renaming the service only changes the display name, and then when you use "net start", it errors with: "The service name is invalid"
2) call isqlplus start errors with "isqlplus is not recognized as an internal or external command..."
3) You cannot execute isqlplussvc.exe directly either.
Any more suggestions?

Axis2 how to create services.xml

Hello to all,
how do I create the services.xml (web-services.xml) in with axis2 ? I expected, that the
ant-task WSDL2Java will also automatically create the services.xml for me, but it doesn't...
I am also suprised, that the name is services.xml and I am not sure how to deploy this to another server (weblogic)
Can anybody help me please.... ?
