Render crash in Premiere Pro CC Windows 8.1

When I try to render 3 minutes of video with Premiere Pro CC  with Windows 8.1 it says "Insufficient memory" and close program.
I set optimizes performance to memory (and not CPU)
I set the maximum virtual memory on Windows.
My computer is 8 core and it has 8Gb RAM (6 dedicated to Premiere)
What have I to do ?

Please monitor memory usage in Task Manager while encoding. Does it ever get near the top of the graph?
The "Insufficient Memory" error is sometimes a red herring.
Have you tried both export paths? In the Export Settings dialog, the Export button (a.k.a., in-process encoding) and the Queue button (which queues the job to AME).
If you have GPU acceleration enabled, please set it to Software Only and try exporting. (In AME, as of CC7.1, you can now change the Renderer setting via a control in the bottom right corner of the Queue panel; in prior versions, the setting in Premiere Pro controlled AME's behavior in this regard.)

  • How to increase render speed in premiere pro

    Hey Everyone,
Is there a way to speed up the render time in premiere pro? I do realize on my mac the processor isn't the fastest. I have 8 gigs of ram and  But, I have all other programs closed, I only have premiere running and I don't have a lot of special effects. I only have some keyframes but nothing complex. Does anyone know what is going on? Every time I make a small change it takes hours to render a small section. When I started this project it didn't take as long. I only select the option to render the change I just made and not the whole video. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advanced and an intel core 2 duo processor which sin't the fastest but for a small change and a simple video 4 hours to render a section is ridiculous and frustrating and this didn't happen before.

There are two primary things you can do to speed up rendering.
    1. Get a faster CPU
    2. Turn on hardware acceleration.  (Or if already turned on, get a faster GPU.)
There are some secondary actions you can also do.
    1. Add more memory.
    2. Get more/faster hard drives.
And finally a third method which may have some limited application.
    1. Avoid QuickTime.

  • Premiere Pro (CS6) - Windows 8 - [..\...Src\Win\Winfile.cpp-814] error

    Hello
Im currently having some issues with Premiero Pro (via creative suite 6) on a Windows 8 64 bit machine after reinstalling due to an error resulting in the encoding sequence crashing/hanging and remaining on 0% indefinitly
Video and audio were both taken via the same machine and are both in .MP4 format. The project will render correctly however will not export
Upon selection of export with match sequence settings enabled I receive the error box saying:
    Premiere Pro Debug Event
Premiere Pro has encountered an error.
    [..\...Src\Win\Winfile.cpp-814]
Upon closing the error the screen returns back to the work space. with an error box saying:Error compiling movie - unknown error. After this it again shows the infinite encoding screen.
I have tried uninstalling the programme and running any updates etc however I am unable to get it to work.
Would really appreciate an answer to this.Uninstalling and reinstalling is in itself a pain.
    Many thanks

I can't give direct help with that error, but some reading that MAY help... These notes are (mostly) for Encore, but some ideas that may help

  • NVIDIA Diplay driver crashes in Premiere Pro CS5.5

I have been editing AVCHD video in the latest version of Premiere Pro CS5.5 for some time now and then suddenly about 3 weeks ago I started having problems where the NVIDIA display driver for my GTX 580 would crash and then recover but kick me out of Premiere Pro in the process.  I had the Mercury Playback Hardware engine enabled.  Chaging it to software render mode fixed the issue and ultimately rolling my video drivers back to a previous version seemed to eliminate the problem completely allowing me to enable hardware render mode again.
I turned off auto updates on my video card since then and last night the problem suddenly came back.  This time software render mode crashes too.  I can even have Premiere Pro open and not be doing anyhting and sometimes after a while it just randomly crashes.  It happens with all my projects and never in the same place on the timeline.
I deleted all of the render files and recreated them and even imported the project into a new project.  This did not fix it.
I tried reinstalling old and new drivers using the "clean install" feature.  No good.
I edited the TDR settings in my registry increasing the delay time before it recovers as recommended by Microsoft when this issue occcurs and this did not resolve my issue.
I am really concerned now because from everyhting I have read it should be working in software render mode.  Since it's not I am at a loss.
I have other programs that use CUDA hardware rendering and none of them have an issue.  It just seems to be with Premiere.
I also checked the temperature of the video card and that's fine.  No overheating issues with my MOBO either.
I read somewhere that it could even be caused by a drop in clock speed on the card so I downloaded a utility to overclock my card and that didn't resolve the issue either.
Any ideas?  I'm in crunch time on a major project and I can't render, export or do anything without it crashing.
I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit, 12 GB of RAM, terabytes of hard drive space and an intel 6 core processor.  My specs are well above the requirements.  I have had this card since December and like I said, the issues just started a few weeks ago.
    Thanks.

I am not at home so I haven't tried rolling back further but I can confirm the version drivers that I tried are 320.18 which was working for a while, 320.49 and 327.23.
For reference I have Premiere Pro CS5.5.2 and the latest Windows 7 64-bit updates installed.
The mobo is an ASUS P6T Deluxe.
When I reinstall the NVIDIA drivers I use the clean install option which completely removes the previous version before reinstalling.  I found that I have to reinstall this is the best way since uninstalling from the control panel only adds the drivers back on a reboot.

  • Nvidia CUDA driver update fixes crashes for Premiere Pro and other applications

We are seeing reports that the CUDA 5.5.47 driver update released today addresses the crashing problems introduced by the CUDA 5.5.43 driver update in Premiere Pro and other applications.   So, if you have an Nvidia GPU, please update your drivers to use the most recent version of the CUDA driver.
    Thanks!

It should be added that only Macs and Quadros need the CUDA driver.  That is not required for use with GeForce cards on Windows.

  • Long render time with premiere pro CS5 lately,  help!

lately my premiere pro CS5 render extremely slow
    i have a 6GB ram 64bit windows 7
is it normal to render a 10 minutes quicktime/h264 codec in 5 hours?
please take a note that this happened recently, so i think my pc spec. should not be the problem
    thanks in advance

You start off with the wrong sequence settings. To resolve that, right click on a clip in the project panel and select 'New Sequence from Clip". That will give you the correct sequence setting for your source material.
When exporting, never use QuiRcktime, since it is a 32 bit application, plagued with numerous severe problems, hence the name. Use plain 64 bit H.264 codec for exporting. If you use Maximum Render Quality, your export can take many times longer than without that checked.
Your memory and presumably the rest of your system (please give details) is not up to this task, especially not when you start with the wrong sequence settings, export with a 32 bit codec and have MRQ turned on.

  • Dramatically slower encode/render times from Premiere Pro CC 2014 via both AME 2014 and direct export via PP

My recent update to Adobe CC 2014 apps has been an unmitigated disaster.  Was running the 2013 version until last week and everything was just dandy.  Very good performance and excellent render/encode times even for stuff with lots of filters and fx.
Since update 1-2 min videos with no fx or filters (or even transitions) have gone from exporting in under two minutes to well over 25 minutes.  These exports are with the same presets I regularly use (Vimeo 720HD H.264).
I've been poking around the forums here for two days looking for answers and can't find anything that works.  Tried the whole "App Nap" toggle as well as a few other tips.  Didn't do squat.  Looking for any hints/answers.  Thanks.

You can rename folders, but I prefer to do it this way: Premiere Pro CC freezing on startup or crashing while working (Mac OS X 10.9, and later)

Kicked out a 1 minute edit with some color/fx in under 10 minutes.  Not as fast as in the past but at least the CPU seemed to be cranking at 500% and above per Activity Monitor.  Its barely gone over 250% in previous attempts.
    That sounds a lot better.

Same 1 minute edit took 35 minutes however when I exported from a PP timeline using MXF clips instead of QTs.  I assumed the QTs would speed up the process but in the past I've gotten great performance on big old RED raw files so still a bit of mystery why I can't approach the speeds I had prior to most recent CC update.
Maybe updating your project file has something to do with it. I'll keep my eye on this issue. Thanks for reporting.

  • Completely Broken Playback/Multiple Crashes after Premiere Pro CC 14 Update

I am experiencing a critical error when using the updated version of Premiere Pro CC 14 (Build 8.1.0). When scrubbing through a basic timeline (of any project) I am having trouble even navigating my timeline without crashing my project. When I try to cue playback or render playback, I am met with crunchy audio (even when using different types of audio files, wav, flac, mp3, etc) or the audio is choppy, or it does not playback at all and has completely dropped out. This will also happen with the video from time to time.
I have found the best way to make this update of Premiere crash is to push play in my timeline and move my marker back in time repeatedly. After about 4-5 movement, it will crash. If I jump anywhere in the timeline, the playback with both the video and audio is choppy and drops out. I will try to post a video of this later if my description is not doing it justice.
I am working on a 12 core Mac Pro (2.4 GHz 6 Core Intel x 2) with 20 GB of Ram. I am editing locally. I have an ATI card. I have the most current update of my CUDA drivers. I have tried to change the playback settings, audio and audio hardware settings to the best of my knowledge to help resolve the problem but nothing seems to work. I have also toggled between the MPBE settings when creating a new project to see if this was the issue, it does not seem to be helping in any way.
This update has completely brought my work day to a halt and it is critical that I resolve this issue as soon as possible. An update should not make things worse! I was not having any issues until I updated.
I've attached some screenshots and can post the error report (it's very long so I won't put it in this initial post).
    Thanks for the help!

If you have an ATI card, then why are CUDA drivers installed? Do you use Resolve? Can you try removing them? Avoid installing NVIDIA CUDA drivers on computers with AMD GPUs Though a bug was fixed in 8.0, it may have resurfaced in 8.1. This would be worth testing.
    ryanghills wrote:

Premiere Pro CC 2014.1 is a major release. As a user, you have to be aware of things like:
Is your GPU driver is compatible with your system? You might need to update the driver.
Are your third party plug-ins compatible with the new version of Premiere Pro? They might not be.
Are your preferences corrupt? You might try resetting preferences.
Are disk permissions current? You may need to repair disk permissions.
Another big issue is that some of the permissions folders may be set to Read Only by OS X. Can you check that out? Premiere Pro CC, CC 2014, or 2014.1 freezing on startup or crashing while working (Mac OS X 10.9, and later)
Also, give us more info on your system. I see an AJA preset in there: FAQ: What information should I provide when asking a question on this forum?

  • Is it possible to show the sequence name in Premiere Pro's window titlebar?

Currently the Premiere Pro titlebar displays "Adobe Premiere Pro" and the project file (ie. D:\Videos\2014-04-30 - PPK\_Project Files\PPK.prproj)
I was wondering if anybody knows a way to also display the name of the current sequence you're editing?
I use time tracking software to monitor my Premiere editing times and uses the tilebar name... so if the Premiere titlebar included the sequence name, I would know how long I spent editing a specific sequence in that project.
    I'm using Windows 8.1

    This is not possible.

  • Install old version of Premiere Pro in Windows 8.1

I have an old version of Premiere Pro. The disc just says Adobe Premiere Pro and has the picture of the horse on it. It also says Windows XP. It previously worked on a PC running Windows XP (I think SP2 but cant remember). I would now like to install it on a laptop running Window 8.1. It goes through the install process then gives a message about DirectX. You can then choose to continue anyway but it doesn't install properly. I have tried installing it in compatibility mode but it still didn't work. Can anyone help? I need step by step instructions as I don't understand anything too technical! Many thanks

If DirectX is the hold-up, you will need to run the DX legacy installer from Microsoft to install the DX 9 runtimes. Otherwise I don't think you will have much luck on that one... The versions with the horse are pre-CS and that is like 15 years ago. Even if it installs, you may not be able to actually work with it because e.g. the program may not be able to invoke file dialogs to actually open projects and there may be any number of other compatibility issues.

  • Must render everything in Premiere Pro before sending to Encore?

I think the answer is no, I DON'T have to have EVERYTHING in the Premiere Pro sequence that I'm sending to Encore completely rendered as I don't think I see any problems BUT am I missing something?
Thanks in advance for guidance here.

Moral: don't walk away! Ha, ha!
All rendering does is create preview files. This helps realtime playback. In the end, you don't want to use those when you transcode (create the actual file that will be used as the final product).
Dynamic link simply creates a link to one of the PR sequences, and when it is time to create the DVD format, Encore (or since CS5 you have the option for Adobe Media Encoder) will transcode the PR sequence into a file that EN will use to "build" the disk.
You need to look at some of the threads on Macs and external drives. Sorry, can't point you to a specific one, but I suspect someone else can.
    http://forums.adobe.com/community/premiere?view=overview
Edit: Here's a post that explains a bit of this differently. There are lots of particulars, and you have the choice of using your preview files. But the prevailing wisdom is that you get better quality if you use "maximum render quality" which does not use old preview files.

  • What's the best DIVX file conversion solutions for Adobe Premiere Pro CS4, Windows XP OS.

I am on a PC with CS4 Adobe Premiere Pro using XP OS.
I have VIO POV 1 (helmet cam) footage that I need to edit within my CS4 project.  The Footage is DIVX MPEG4 AVI and Premiere doesn't recognize the video.  I need to figure out the best conversion to maintain the highest quality format that Premiere will recognize.
What is your best recommendation on how to convert (and what format to convert to to maintain the best quality) and can you recommend a good converter program?  Free perhaps if I don't have to buy one.
I have spent days looking for a solution and reviewing posts but to no avail.  I have tried MPEG Streamclip, Virtual Dub, Digital Media Converter, Prism and many selected others.
-MPEG Streamclip doesn't seem to recognize the DIVX files (even after the 3IVX codec installed)
-Digital Media Converter (free watermarked version) seems to work to produce the DV AVI files (type II) but the quality is pretty low so not really wanting to pay $50 to use the low quality conversion -does the converter program have much to do with the quality of the output?  It also produces a MPEG2 that seems a little better quality than the DV AVI file it produces.
-Prism does convert to a high quality AVI file that does output a really high quality file that plays in Media Player (latest version) but not in Premiere Pro CS4. Prism also converts to a WMV (windows media vid) that I can use on PP but is not quite the quality of the above noted AVI.  This may be my best option???? Or is it a bad idea to use a compressed codec as wmv to edit and eventually output for the complete PP movie?
    http://www.nchsoftware.com/prism/index.html
Any insight is very much appreciated. I must get on with my editing project!!! Thanks,
    Aaron.

Jeff, thanks so much, but I'm still not quite there!  Agreed, codec packs can be dangerous but apparently the DIVX one is OK!
So I downloaded the DIVX pack, and the VirtualDub did work and converted via VirtualDub to AVI,... then tried in PremierePro.  Again no luck viewing... sound OK but the video freezes on the first frame or two.  I can view those outputs in MediaPlayer or DIVX player though. So I tried rerunning the UT codec installer and the logarith but still can't view the outputs from VirtualDub in PP.
I tried (in VirtualDub) converting the previously converted AVI file I did in Prism converter and again, can see the output in PP (still minor artifacts here and there though).
?Maybe I should just be happy with a the DIVX converted to a .wmv file but I think I will be sacrificing quality on already pretty grainy footage that I'm inserting into a largely HD film project so kinda shotty?
Any more suggestions? The help is greatly appreciated!
    Aaron.
